HEW & PHOENIX

══════════════════════════════════════════
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Hew reached out and placed his hands over Phoenix's. Breathing steadily he looked the other man in the eye, a stern and determined look on his face. Shifting slightly he found a more comfortable position. "Just start using your power I guess. I'm going to try to feed you some energy." Hew closed his eyes and focused on grounding himself and starting the pull of energy from outside himself. He collected the energy inside himself then after focusing in on the energy signature that told him Phoenix was using his ability he changed the energy collecting in his stomach to match that being used by Phoenix. Slowly he started to feed the energy down his arms, through his hands into Phoenix, hoping Phoenix's mind and body would just instinctively know what to do with it.

Meanwhile, Phoenix was allowing the images that had been just lingering at the edge of his mind to finally filter through, up from the where his fingertips rested and flowing through his body. He could vaguely see the images of trees and people and there was Lee just as he was the night before. And then there was a new presence - a stranger, yet familiar somehow - hovering just over his focus. Phoenix breathed in a strangled gasp; that must be Hew. What the hell was he supposed to do now? Hew hadn't been all that forthcoming with his instructions. He was supposed to somehow just start absorbing, right? He wasn't sure, but he tried to imagine taking the energy into himself as he had imagined absorbing the memories from the objects. Phoenix was surprised to find himself met with the sudden trickle of concentrated energy running down from Hew's hands into his own, flowing, flowing, flowing, then back again. Phoenix's eyes were wide, flicking back and forth, but not seeing the world before him. Like a movie reel, images raced before his eyes: Lee cooking in his noodle shop; an alter-ego named Jinki; Lee standing in a 'cell' in Moonlight prison, Kiyo and another white-haired male beside him - no, no; too far back. Phoenix concentrated on redirecting his focus, less on the cloth and more on the stone, only thinking of the on the previous night. Immediately, he was flooded with images, but not of the park. More memories, a dark-haired boy with his relatives, growing in each consecutive scene until he became a younger version of the man in front of him, committed to an asylum. Too much, too close, too fast; Phoenix ripped himself from those memories, unsure how he had even seen them in the first place. He focused on the park instead, on the dark force that had permeated the area the night before, calming as the images stopped their insistent blurring past him and instead began a steady stream of snapshots of the night's events after Lee had fled the scene. He could feel the energy loop Hew provided mellow between them then gain intensity. Then there was the creature, encased in a young girl's body, calling itself Jadis, surrounded by a grouping of three falling to their knees before the thing (woman?). The creature paced like a villain, promising impossible things, bidding the followers to complete a mission - kill the man, Angelo Rizzo. And then, suddenly the scenery changed, without Phoenix's direction, to a street, a man gun in hand, another laying bloody on the ground, a girl, injured but alive. Another shift, faster this time, focused upon the hot springs, on three specific people in the steaming water - the man who had completed Jadis's mission and a light-haired woman, both members of the meeting the night before and - most surprising of all - Kiyo.

Hew's eyelids were rapidly blinking as the images raced through his mind. This was new, not something he'd ever experienced before but somehow it seemed getting on a bicycle after years of not riding and remembering you leared when you were a kid. He was suddenly haunted by the memories of his past. Brief images of his childhood and his family, followed by memories of his internment at the asylum. The horrid experiences of the time forcibly being replayed in his mind. He didn't know if Phoenix saw what he saw and a part of him hoped he didn't. After a few moments the images seemed to slow then freeze on the park. He steadily increased the flow of energy between himself and Pheonix as the transfer seemed to smooth over. He could see Jadis' arrival, see the three go towards the crater. He saw and heard what transpired between them, seeing them fall to their knees infront of Jadis. He heard Jadis' commands to her followers, heard the threat on Angelo. The images shifted and he saw a man lying on the ground, blood pooling around him. A flash to another image and hew could see the dead man and injured girl. The scene changed again this time of the hot springs, three people in the water, one Hew remembered from Lee's and the other two as the followers of Jadis. He didn't know what to make of it, just that there was an overwhelming importance in preventing this new person from joing Jadis. All of a sudden Hew lost control, the energy flow ceased and he collapsed backwards into his armchair. Blood flowing from his nose and the whole room spinning uncontrollably, horrendous overwhelming pain took hold in Hew's brain. He couldn't think, couldn't move, couldn't do anything. After a few moments he regained enough composure to stammer out "Lee get to the hot springs, there's a guy there accompanied by a light haired girl and another male, the guy who was at your shop. Stop him from joining them. Get him away from them or something bad is very likely to happen."

By the time he had gotten to this most recent memory of the hot springs, the intensity of the loop had grown so much it strained against the imaginary walls of Phoenix's will. A slight pain began to build as the pressure did until the entire thing snapped like a rubber band pulled too tight then released. The flickering world provided by the items disappeared and Phoenix was harshly brought back to the reality of Hew's living room which twisted and turned more than a room should be allowed. His head felt as if something had exploded in his brain, which might not have been too far from the truth as blood streamed from his nostrils. There was too much noise which directly translated into pain; Phoenix was sure that was Lee shouting something, but was too disoriented by the pouding in his head to make any sense of the unintelligible sound the other man was making. He curled in on himself, arms crossed over his eyes, willing the insistent presence overhead to disappear. Across from him, Hew was saying something, something about going to the hot springs - "K-Kiyo." Phoenix rapsed. 'S Kiyo."

Hew slummped back into the arm chair again and grabbing his shirt and pulling it up to his face he tried to stop the flow of blood and ignore the pain in his head. The pounding in his ears was slowly abating, but not quick enough to make Hew feel any better. When he could finally speak again without worrying about stammering, he exclaimed, "Let's not try that again for a awhile, a night of debauchery doesn't have repercussions as bad as that was". He leaned forward and let his bloody shirt fall from his face. Slowly he stood up and stumbled to the kitchen to get himself and Phoenix some tylenol for the pain. He dug the pills out of a drawer and pulled two bottles of water out of the fridge. Making his way back to the armchair he popped open the bottle and helped himself to a couple before handing the bottle to Phoenix with a bottle of water. He put the pills in his mouth and quickly swallowed them with a gulp from the cold water bottle.

Phoenix stirred from his fetal position on the couch opposite Hew. "Never again." He responded. To say that the consquences of 'a night of debauchery' couldn't compare with what they had just done was a grievous understatement. He watched as Hew somehow found the energy and willpower to move himself from his armchair and to a room beyond Phoenix's vision. There was some noises, then Hew reappeared with some tablets and a bottle of water for each of them, which he gratefully accepted. Phoenix popped the medicine into his mouth quickly, then took a sloppy gulp from the bottle, spilling down his shirt and not even caring (he had blood all over himself anyway.) The next few moments were spent just evening his breathing; he had never had much tolerance for pain.

====================

Kiyo looked at the boy and shrugged "I just got a little curious that's all." he wouldn't really be in the plan unless he found out what he was gaining, he couldn't wrap the idea around his head. He turned back to Toma and his puffy narrow eyes became even narrower, those people were serious.

"Nice to meet you Serena." his answer came a little careless, he didn't even look at the girl, his focus was all with Toma, he just listened to the boy talk about his boss then vaguely about the plan. They knew of the power and wanted to use it, but what did they wanted for, he wondered. With a little splash he got back to his relaxed position, giving up on the little towel now sitting on one of the rocks. "Well, your boss seems interested enough in me, or maybe just in my power, it wouldn't make a big difference, really." he stared at the boy "I don't really want to go through hard work for a world I wouldn't enjoy living in. A perfect word wouldn't probably have what keeps me going. It makes no sense to fight for something I don't want." Kiyo said with a lower voice, he didn't know what Jadis wanted, but the word 'saviour' turned him off. "Well, I think I'm not all that interested after all. I'm just curious how your boss found out about me in a day, I'm not a famous figure." he said suspicious, looking at both of them.

Things weren't going the way he expected them, and somehow a feeling of fear took over him, he was turning them down, what if their boss got angry, he was probably going to be a casualty of a perfect world attempt, but he would stand for his beliefs "What kind of perfect world is it?" he finally asked imagining a white peaceful world with lots of happy families, just like those things in the movies.

Lee made sure to sit close enough while he watched the pair. His body not exactly touching Phoenix's out of fear in what was going to happen, but if something did... then he'd be there to rid them of the pain. Maybe it was visible to the others, or not as they both had their eye's closed, but he just really didn't want to be there. Nor Phoenix. Nor Hew himself. While he didn't trust the black haired wonder, he didn't want him to get hurt either. That was actually the last thing he wanted. Bringing his legs up to let his feet rest against the chair, Lee's body let itself drop back to relax. His eye's aimed towards the ceiling in wonder of what was going on between the two exactly. He figured it being a little memory capture that whatever the pair was doing, it wouldn't last too long. A thought crossed his mind. What if Phoenix had seen too much into the cloth rather than what he was meant to. Surely it being washed so many times would dilute it. But... did memories wash away like dirt? His bottom lip poked out a bit as his arm's wrapped around his legs. The jump to his past before the prison wasn't exactly the best and wasn't something he was so willing to share with anyone. Maybe giving the article to Phoenix wasn't the smartest idea.

Turning his eyes to the pair, Lee dropped his chin to the small gap between his knees. They looked so intense. As if whatever they were focusing on had started a war inside their brains that was close to being either won or lost. "Um... guys? Hello...?" They probably couldn't hear him, but that didn't help ease his worry. If they were that lost into whatever they were doing, it couldn't be good. "Hey!" Releasing his legs from his arms, Lee pushed himself forward in the couch before reaching a hand out to grab a hold of them. Holding his position for a moment, he didn't know if touching them would be the best idea. The possibility of the three of them getting hurt would just be stupid. But with his healing ability, chances of him being in pain weren't all that bound. Usually when cooking, his little slips when using a knife or anything sharp was shown only by reaction. No blood ever spilt and the regeneration stopped any scars from appearing. But that didn't mean he was indestructible.

"Mmm..." Swallowing down a small gulp, Lee reached out and touched the connected hands. A short blast emitted causing his body to freeze. His mind going blank for a moment and the only things connecting with his brain were the bodies of Phoenix crumpled to the couch and Hew dropping to the ground. This was the moment! He was suppose to run to heal them both, but he couldn't. His body at a standstill as if it had completely shut down and failed to power back up. A cool sensation running it's course down his spine much in the same way whenever his body healed itself. He had died. Body, brain and heart completely shut down from the attack he suffered in that second. If it hadn't been for the restarting effect his powers had to his body, he would have stayed that way. A deep breath being taken in as he felt his lungs start to pump blood into his heart and brain once again. The rushing feeling causing his chest to tighten up as well as his skull to throb out in pain. His cranium felt as if it were going to explode from pain.

Thankfully it wasn't his first time. His body reacted the same, going into a coughing frenzy and every vein in his body bursting with pain from the rush of blood flowing through them, but he didn't have time to worry about himself. With his body still positioned as if he were relaxing into the couch, Lee reached out to place his hand onto whatever available part of Phoenix's body was available. His eye's resting as he felt the flow of energy leave from himself and take it's turn to heal the other male. Another deep intake of breath before a release as he felt himself being drained once again. To say it didn't hurt him to heal others would be a lie. He was giving all his energy to provide life for someone else. It wasn't as easy as a simple touch and go. If that were the case, he'd have offered himself as the doctor of the town and gave away free health care for all.

Once he released his hold on Phoenix, Lee let his body rest for a moment longer. Trying his best to register the words that the two had thrown into his direction. Something so simple, but he wasn't able to understand it completely. "Kiyo...? Kiyo..." What was a Kiyo? His mind trying it's best to connect the word with an image to remind him what or who exactly Kiyo was. He knew what that was. It was at the tip of his tongue... then it clicked. "K-Kiyo!?" Hew mentioned him going to the hot springs much like Phoenix had offered him directions before. As if all the energy he lost had found it's way back into his body, which it hadn't, Lee jumped from his position and gave the other two a worried look. He felt exhausted and probably looked as if he had gone through hell, but that didn't matter to him at the moment. He couldn't let that thing get to Kiyo. "I'll be back! You two, just stay here and try to relax." Going from Hew to Phoenix, Lee's expression didn't soften any. Instead, he gave them both a simple nod before forcing himself from the position. His body wasn't strong enough, but he had to stop this from happening.

INDENTSilver eyes rallied back and forth between the two, trying to pick up anything that made sense. So nothing, so far. Perfect world? Jobs? Bosses? Male and female bosses? Whaaaat? Serena's head began to ache once more, when her name was mentioned from a tongue other than her own. That brown haired boy had introduced her, without her permission. Not like she really cared, but she was still curious as to how she came to know him. Nonetheless, she nodded in common greeting to the small-eyed man beneath her. They called him Kiyo, as he'd come to label himself. The girl's automatic ears caught on to Toma's next train set of words. These ones sounding repeated, but from another voice. A feminine voice. An irritably feminine voice. A memory clicked, instantly connecting the pink haired lady to the flower-name Jadis. As Serena now recalled, Jadis was the one behind all this mess, also coming about to be Toma's boss. Toma's female boss.

INDENTA layer of steam erupted from the hot water that enveloped her feet. Only in her imagination, the steam erupted from her ears. Honestly, Serena had no idea why she was getting all worked up again. It was getting quite annoying. It always had. Her distracted eyes flicked over to Toma again as he'd re-mentioned her name. Why did he keep bringing her up? In response, Serena manage a plastic smile and a smirk-cocky nod. "Mhm..!" Lost in thought, she'd fallen off track of what they were talking about. Her only assumption being Toma expecting something in agreement, and she continued to play along with the 'casual' attitude. Still, Serena didn't have a clear view of who these people were. That didn't stop her from grimacing at the brown haired boy. He was smiling at her in a disturbingly odd way, and it was sending warm shivers down her spine. "Don't look at me like that...!" She whined, self-cautiously. To get him back for the uncomfortable chills, Serena kicked a small splash of the steaming water into his face. For sure, it would burn for a while, his face still normal temperature from lack of contact with the water.

INDENTOne that minuscule act of revenge had taken place, Serena's orbs went to land on the Japanese. He'd taken little notice of her, but he didn't have to express so in such a rude manner. Nice to mee you Serena She rolled her eyes in return and mumbled under her breath. "Nice to meet you too. zin a dismissive tone, she gave off as much 'carelessness' as he had. Obviously, he had other things to worry about. Whatever. All she could do now was listen. Apparently, they were still talking of that World Peace topic. Did that really exist? Would it? Toma spoke of creating it, and Serena herself had her own questions as to how that was to happen and what would become of it. But, being on the same team as the brown-haired mister, she was supposed to know all the answers to this as much as Toma knew. Unfortunately, she knew nothing. At this point, she was as clueless as Kiyo, but not half as frightened. Matter of fact, she wasn't frightened at all. Interest had taken over her system, and by the way Toma was pitching the idea, Serena wanted a big part of it. A twinkle in her eyes flashed as a smile crept into her straight face, loosening it since the uncomfortable Splashing-Toma incident. When Kiyo said he wasn't too interested, she turned to him. "Why not? What's not to like about a 'perfect world'?" Serena soon then even shifted her legs so her whole body could face the Small-eyed man. "Why does it matter how she found you? Doesn't it matter more than you could be a part of something huge? Something she promises we will all enjoy." Serena had so much more to say, but she didn't want to overwhelm the boy. Of course, Serena had no idea what she was saying, or whether of not she was giving off the same idea as Toma was trying to. In all honestly, she was only trying to help. The excitement boiling in her would soon not be able to keep contained. For the meanwhile, Serena knowingly nibbled at her sleeve in nervous reaction, only to restrain herself from blurting anything more. It didn't work. Her eyes narrowed slightly, darkening in the process, yet her words came out smooth and sweet. "Don't be the one to keep us from that..~"

User ImageHew eventually managed to sit up straight as the walls began to slow their spin. Not long after his head was clear, the bleeding stopped, feeling as good as ever. He looked over at Phoenix who seemed to be trying to fold in on himself.
"It's over now, we won't need to do that again, at least not for a while. But based on what I saw there's on one course of action available to us...."
Hew paused for a few moments to let his words be heard, if Phoenix could hear him, he wasn't sure. Still he needed to say it.
"We have to stop the thing before it's too late..."

Serena. What was she doing at the hot springs? No where had she remembered telling the girl to wonder off on her own and interrupt her plans. Everything had to be pieced together carefully if she were to achieve her plan. These small bumps in the road were proving to be... troublesome. The wolf girl wasn't suppose to enter the scene earlier, nor was the mute girl. Just as Serena wasn't suppose to be resting with the other two. Sure, it was obvious the girl had been a fire cracker from the night before, but her rebellion was starting to become something to question. Then again, with the arrival of not one, but two individuals trying to gain the Japanese boys interest, maybe this was working out in her favor. Humans weren't something easy to understand fully, but Kiyo's mind seemed simple enough to intrude. Toma and Serena just didn't know the right places to touch to achieve their success. "Guess if you want the job done right..."

A quick snap of her fingers caused trickles of sparks appear across her form. Snipping away the long length of hair and morphing her features from the soft feminine features into a slightly stronger masculine take. Her jawline strengthening, hair darkening as well as certain parts of her body showing more definition than the previous form held. "You should do it yourself." A smile crossed his lips as the sparks began to fade away, placing the final touches to the body. Whatever that boy had given her proved to be quite useful after all.

Deciding to skip the rinsing and whatever preparation humans took to prepare themselves for the dip into the steaming water, Jadis wrapped a towel around his waistline. Shame wasn't something to embrace for himself, but he had a role to play after all. Walking around showing every part of himself just wouldn't work well. "Hehe, Kiyo..." His voice coming out soft as he watched the trio from a not so far distance. A simple step would have placed above the hot liquid. Which is exactly what he took. Removing the towel from his hips before lowering himself into the pool of water, Jadis made sure to keep himself close to Kiyo's side. Bumping shoulders with him a bit as a mischievous smile crossed his lips. "Come on Kiyo, don't be a downer... it'll be... you know, 'fun'."

Fun being the key word when it came to their relationship. Jadis had seen the hidden meaning behind the fun the two had gotten into and found it rather interesting. Human breeding was an odd concept, but it seemed to help the people bond versus causing any problems for others. "I'm sure without all the stuff stopping us from doing whatever we wanted, this world would be a billion times better! Think about it... without Lee constantly guilt tripping you or making you worry, we could do whatever we wanted." Placing his hand to the others thigh, Jadis gave Kiyo a much softer smile. "She can give us anything we ask for... all we have to do is help her. A perfect world where we can do whatever we want, whenever we want. All she asks is that we stop destroying the planet and rid those that do. That's not so bad, is it?" Finishing off with a small wink.

Toma had an inner battle with himself between two choices. One was to clonk the guy in the head for confusing him so much and the other choice was to bask himself further into the water in order to think of another way to approach it. Jadis’s plan was pretty simple but Toma didn’t have all the details needed to perfectly describe her vision to Kiyo. Plus, Kiyo was asking a bit too much out of him. Toma was unsure if the perfect world is ‘perfect’ enough for him. Plus, he sounded like he had no interest in the perfect world. The only thing Kiyo was curious about was how they found him. Toma had no answer to that either and he didn’t even know what special powers Kiyo had. Then out of nowhere, Kiyo mentioned the perfect world again. Talk about confusing. A smile nonetheless was still on Toma's face but before he attempted to explain, a splash of hot water was kicked towards his face. His eyes automatically closed before the impact of the steaming water got him. “Serena! He cried in distress. His arms went flailing everywhere before it went grabbed a hold of his towel. Pushing it down to his face, he rubbed the soft fabric gently against his skin. With the hot water incident, Toma was unsure if he was going to blow up at Serena or laugh it off. The reason for her actions had to do with him looking at her. Well, it’s nothing new so why would she attack him like that? Pondering that for a moment, Toma’s slowly opened his eyes. Everything hurt! The scorching pain that came along with it prickled his skin in an uncomfortable way. Removing the towel and placing it on his head again, Toma’s squinted in Serena’s direction before a mischievous grin splayed along his mouth. “Two could play at that game.” He left it at that. A series of ideas popped into his mind but most of them unimportant to the situation before them.

Just in time, Toma leaned forward to hear Serena describe her view on the topic. Toma’s eyes widened for a second. So she was on board with the whole Jadis thing. It was good to know at least. Her lack of response at the park had him worried. In all, he wanted to jump over there and hug the girl! She saved his a**! Something giddy inside him erupted. Glancing over to Kiyo, Toma was unsure how he would take it. Of course, it still didn’t answer his questions in detail but it was good enough. “Way to go Serena!” Toma laughed before the sound of another presence interrupted him. A red haired guy decided to crash their little party. And he seemed to know Kiyo and their plans. Toma’s mouth opened slightly, listening to the explanation that sounded very similar to Jadis except this time, it sounded like it appealed to Kiyo more. Toma looked back and forth between the two males. They obviously had some history by the way they were talking but where did he come from. "Hmm.” Raising his fingers and thumb to his chin, Toma’s thoughts went to several possibilities for the identity of this person. Sudden realization hit him. Turning to the direction of the new comer, Toma beamed at him. “Don’t tell me, Jadis thought I couldn’t complete this so she sent over a baby sitter. Am I right?” It was like Jadis to do so. Maybe Toma was taking too long and she had to intervene.

====================

Kiyo followed what was happening carefully and had somehow lost some of his relaxed status "Who are these people and what do they want with me? I want the world the way it is." he thought a little annoyed with them. The sight of Jinki coming over to join them was even more perplexing, and took away all his attention from the other two. "Korea? What are you doing here?" he asked him, but didn't really avoid the boy's advances, he liked the way they were together, casual and playful, he even rested his head on his shoulder.

It was when Jinki urged him to join the cause that things changed a bit, Kiyo drew himself further from the boy and looked so suspicious. "Are you sure what you are talking about? I don't think a perfect world would have anything that we like. But if it's as you say, it would be perfect for us, and might be worth a shot." he said, still suspicious, but came back to Jinki's side nevertheless, stroking his pink hair with his fingertips. Jinki didn't have the habit of surfacing every so often, and the thing about Lee creeped him out a little "What do they intend to do with Lee then?" he thought, he wouldn't want to be the cause of his demise.

Then again, the idea of having Jinki all to himself was really appealing, he would like that. It looked like Jadis was pressing the right buttons after all. "Let me think about it then." he said with a softer voice, he would have given Jinki a little kiss but the presence of Toma and Serena made it look inapropriate.

"Sometimes a baby sitter is needed." Jadis gave the blonde haired boy a grinned expression. Giving the equal to an eye-roll as if to call his comment silly. Well, it was silly. Toma had been loyal enough so far without much hesitation. Even if his words had been a bit delinquent before, he proved himself to be quite useful in her plans. He just hoped the Serena girl wouldn't cause too much trouble for her as far as distractions for him. It seemed pretty obvious that there was a small bond forming between the pair, but Toma appeared to hold his will back while Serena gave up full control on being with the other. Sure, the bond wasn't strong. But it was definitely there. Then again, there was Kiyo and his want for Jinki. She wouldn't be able to provide him with a body from thin air, but if Lee were to be destroyed she could easily let him take full control over the boys body.

He wasn't worried at all when Kiyo pulled away from him. There was no way this plan was going to fail. If there had been one desire for the Japanese male, it was the body he was able to provide. The two had a connection that seemed friendly and went beyond certain boundaries, but as far as deep with held feelings, they weren't detected. An interesting pair. "Hehe, think about a perfect world. It doesn't mean that we can't do whatever we want... as long as we don't hurt the planet, why wouldn't we be able to do what we want?" Trailing his fingers against the side of Kiyo's cheek, Jadis gave the male a gentle smile. Thumb pulling against the corner of his lips. Leaning forward, he pressed his forehead to the others before his lips connected briefly against the others. It was easy to tell that's what he wanted. If that were the case, why didn't he just grab the opportunity? Shame shouldn't have been an emotion the male was to hold. "Yeah, Japan. You think about it. I'm sure you'll come around." Giving Toma another look from the corner of his eyes, Jadis leaned his head in the blondes direction. "Your shift seems to be over, Toma. Guess you can go off and do whatever you want for now. Oh, and take Serena with you. Please."

Phoenix was vaguely aware of a touch and feeling marginally better afterward. With his head clear enough to think, he was able to realize that Lee had done what he had been there to do and healed both Phoenix and Hew. It didn't stop him from feeling like he was just getting over the flu, though. His muscles still ached from the memory of the event and he was tired enough to crash on Hew's couch at that moment. On the upside, his nose had stopped bleeding. Somehow, during his episode he had curled into the couch and was now resting his head on the armrest with his knees tucked into his chest. He let his head loll there and stared at Hew as the other man talked. Lee was gone; Phoenix figured he had probably run to save Kiyo while Phoenix had been trying to turn himself into origami. Actually, he kind of remembered him saying something about that. He had said something about resting, too, hadn't he? Hew had perked considerably though, like a flower after rain. Phoenix thought he was crazy, but maybe it was because his power involved channeling energy.

Regardless of the dark-haired male's increase in vitality, Phoenix still only moved to blink his eyes at him lazily. "Do we have to go now?" He asked petulantly.

Hew

User ImageWith a clear head Hew was able to analyze what he had learned. He knew that there was no saving the man named Angelo and that the injured girl had taken off. He also knew that if this Kiyo person were to join up with Jadis then a major blow would be struck to good guys.
"No, no, you just rest and recover for now. I'll make some food. Eating always helps after you exert yourself too much."
With that Hew stood and walked to the kitchen where he prepared to make some penne pasta with alfredo sauce and blackened tilapia to go with it. It took about forty five minutes from the time he had begun preparing the food to the time it was finished cooking. He retrieved two plates and a couple of forks then proceeded to fix himself and Phoenix each a plate.
"One of my favorite dishes. It's loaded with carbs and proteins. Just what you need right now.
Hew brought the two plates into the living room and set one in front of Phoenix and handed him a fork.
"Eat up now."

Phoenix relaxed onto the cushions when Hew gave him the go-ahead to just sit back and rest. He stretched himself out on the couch with half a mind to kick off his shoes so he could be more comfortable. His eyes were already sliding closed by the time Hew had gotten up to make lunch and in no time was dozing peacefully.

When Hew reentered the room quite a bit later, Phoenix stirred drowsily. Hew placed a plate before him filled with pasta and creamy sauce and fish. Another person had made him their favorite dish Phoenix realized in wonderment. He lay there for a moment, staring at the tasty looking dish before he finally managed to will himself into a sitting position. He picked up the plate and balanced it in his lap before he took up the fork and started eating slowly. "Thanks," Phoenix murmured around a mouthful of food. Hew was right; he was starting to feel better already. The nap had really helped (he'd really needed it, even before the whole debacle with the boosting and what-not) and the food was helping him perk up from the grogginess that went with post-naptime. "So what are we supposed to do now? Since we've sorta been MIA for all the action."

Hew

User ImageWith his food in hand Hew sat back down in the arm chair he had previously vacated. He had sort of embellished the truth about this being his favorite dish, it was one of his favorites but not his absolute favorite. He dug into his food like a fat kid in a candy store and soon finished off his food. He didn't want to talk while he was eating but didn't want to spend a long time eating. After about ten minutes of silence Hew set aside his plate and fork and looked towards Phoenix.
"We get to work. Find out everything we can on this Jadis thing and everyone following it. Find a way to stop them from killing another person. One murder is bad enough but who knows what they're going to do to that one guy, what did you call him? Kiyo, was it? Well anyways, Lee's on his way to intercept Kiyo and get him away from them, hopefully he'll bring him back here. In the meanwhile we can do some research on your ability and see what we can glean from it."

Walking down the streets as it started to get dark out she looked up at the sky. Sure she loved the night sky but she was currently at the place that she had been injured at. The body seemed to be gone looking down at her one hand that wasn't in the sling she felt an immense guilt raise threw her body like a tsunami. It looked almost as if nothing had happened but she knew what happened. But she didn't know if anyone else would. For she had no idea that Jadis had existed.
Turning to walk away from the scene she put her other hand over her stomach as it made a noise stating she needed something to eat. She smiled weakly down at the ground allowing her eyes to change from blue to emerald. Letting her mind wonder as she walked down the road. Finding the thoughts of random people who she could possibly pry into they're minds. Listening to many things. As she walked down the street she saw many different places which she could spend her money to get something to eat. At this moment she didn't care who she pried into the mind of or if they heard her voice. In they're head that is. 'I wonder where I should go.' thought allowed in her head as she stopped in her tracks to dig her wallet out of the bag with her clothes in it. She was still barefooted with the long flowing white dress on that the priest had given her.

Michael waits and watches waiting for her to move. However, he is surprised when she actually stops and then changes back, showing all of the pain she was feeling. As he walked toward her, all of the mist returned to his veins and his eyes stopped glowing. He stopped beside her and wrapped the Kimono around her and then his arms. "I'm sorry. I have an idea of how you feel, and I know that it probably doesn't mean much, but I am here and as long as you so choose, I will be behind you or by your side. Not just as a bodyguard, but as a friend, or whatever it is you may need."

He hugs her gently. "I cannot replace what you lost, and I will not try. I will, however, be here as you need me. It is one of the few things I am good at." He looks her in the eyes, the green of his eyes trying to show past the grey.
