tab Kae couldn't help but tilt his head away from fin as she moved about on his shoulders, the barbs that protruded from the tips of his earfins and headfin were hardly nothing to worry about if you happened to be playing around up there. Still he was reasonably certain that so long as he didn't forget himself she wouldn't manage to impale herself on them just by sniffing about. For the moment he simply tilted his head and kept his attention on Nora. She was saying something about her headache being caused by a Tsunami, it was perfectly possible and even probable that such a thing could have been caused by his brothers but the word for such a thing was quite different to his own people. So naturally the whole thing went right over his very tall head, and since he didn't grasp what it was Nora had been talking about he made no comment on it, whatever the cause for her pain he was certain he could do something.

”It couldn't hurt to let me have a look at least.” There was, of course, the chance that if her pains were purely magical and there was nothing physically wrong with here then there would be nothing for him to heal. That wouldn't stop him from trying however. Calling mineral infused waters from the cavern walls to coat his hands he infused it with his magic and approached Nora, ignoring what she was saying since it didn't really seem directed at him anyway. The glow from his hands lit the area around them with an eerie blue light. His thumbs met together at the point on the woman's forehead just between her brows, the rest of his webbed fingers found places along her forehead. It didn't take him long to find the problem, it felt to him like pressure, or perhaps tension. Quickly enough it eased and yielded to his magic. When he came to himself again Fin was no longer in her tiny fox form, but rather sat on his shoulders with one thigh on either side of his head and her feet dangling over his chest and chatting to Nora. The male chuckled under his breath. ”Having fun up there? You know if you intend to stay up there you're going to have to do this thing called ducking. I know it's probably a foreign concept to you short people but the ceilings will be a lot closer now.” It was fair warning, even if it was given while poking fun at Fin's stature, up on his shoulders her head over his she had gained a good three feet or more on what she was used to. She seemed to be enjoying it too and he really didn't mind. At least he didn't mind until she decided it would be a good idea to start messing with his headfin. ”Ahh watch it, careful up there.” he complained smoothing back the fin that lay flat along his head giving the appearance of a blue mohawk or hair. The appearance he gave was that of a vain man that took way to much time doing their hair only to get upset when a flirtatious girl went mussing it up. But that simply wasn't the case. Like the fins at his ears his headfin had sharp barbs along it's length that would be incredibly painful should they get caught in someone's skin. Some careless person like Fin could get one stuck through her hand.

Fin didn't seem to mind in the least, paying little mind to his display, instead deciding to go on about her clothes seeming to completely forget that he could neither see what she was or was not wearing in part because he was nearly blind but also because she was sitting behind his head. As far as he could tell she felt exactly as she did most other times, if perhaps a little more clear than usual. He was about to open his mouth and make a retort to that effect but Fin had already moved on to the next subject and Kae could only sigh. There were times when Fin's mouth seemed to simply overflow with an out pour of words that couldn't be stopped so much to get a word in edgewise. For some reason now she seemed keenly interested on how he'd left with Shae last night. He shrugged as casually as though there wasn't the weight of a woman balanced on his shoulders just at that moment. ”Shae was about to pass out with all those people around, so I took her to the lake where I knew she would be more comfortable. Since we were both more comfortable there than we would have been in our rooms we stayed.” No big deal right? At least no big deal he could see. But Nora quickly chimed in, wanting to know 'everything.' ”Well... I guess we went to the lake, swam for a bit, talked, discovered an infant kalikán that had become trapped, ate some berries, then went back to the lake to sleep. I suppose Shae wanted to stay there as much to keep an eye on the little one as she might have because it was more comfortable.” That really was about all they'd done, even if he left out the dangerous bits with the shark and falling rubble. Shae. Foolish woman had followed him right into both situations when she could barely see or protect herself. ”Ahea is quite possibly the only woman in all of existence that is capable of making me furious without even trying... but... she is also kind, thoughtful, and completely selfless. She is even fun in her own way. Nothing like I would ever have expected... and yes I like her.” He admitted candidly feeling not the slightest ounce of shame or nervousness in doing so. Of course he didn't quite understand that when they said 'like her' they had meant as something more than just a friend, and while he did like her as more than a friend, he had also been warned not to get too closely involved with the other water races. He was here to make peace with the humans if at all possible. So far his encounters with humans had been... less than promising.

Sometime when he'd been talking Fin had changed back into her little foxy self and had hopped down to sniff along one wall looking for water. She'd said it was collected just on the other side of that wall right? ”You know, we could try a more... direct approach. It might get a little dusty but it would be faster.” he shrugged again. He was perfectly willing to punch a hole in the wall and make them a shortcut, but he would leave the decision up to them.

Amaris Lyall
The ♀ Werewolf

Richard's words as she stormed off to prowl around the tunnel were probably meant to appease her in some way, but it was drowned out, reduced to a cluster of sounds and syllables that made little sense in her anger filled mind. Even if she had grasped his words and the meaning behind them, it was doubtful they would have done much to calm her. Full moon or not, his claim that the obnoxious creature was 'worse' - which translated as 'stronger' in her head - would have triggered a negative reaction all the same. It wasn't as if she was delusional enough to think she and her kind were the most powerful creatures out there in the world; the werewolf simply didn't appreciate being underestimated. She had plenty of moments in the past where she'd been weak, powerless and had since worked to prevent a repeat of those times. She even had a few brushes with death, which was evident on a few places on her body, not that those were anything to brag about. So if anybody were to decide what was or was not stronger than Amaris, it was damn well going to be her.

Again, there was that confidence that he could actually deal with her. She scrutinized him briefly as his eyes focused behind them, trying to work out what he was implying. If he believed that, what made her so much easier to handle than that obnoxious creature? Amaris hoped he wasn't relying too heavily on the idea that him being her friend granted him some protection if she shifted. Sure, he pulled her back to her senses when his moment of fear had started to stir up her predatory instincts, but she had given him that serious business talk about getting away from her if she started to change for a reason. The day was still young, meaning that the moon's power shouldn't automatically put her mind into the feral state that it would be in later tonight, but it wasn't uncommon to forget oneself when her race changed into their beastial forms. Hell, even family and pack members could be hostile towards each other, especially if tensions ran high. She could go through and explain how dangerous she was today, but really, she trusted Richard was smart enough to know that without a lecture. So where exactly did that confidence come from?

Amaris snorted in amusement when Richard began boasting about how he'd handled many different women and felt a smile creep along her face at his declaration that he'd stick with her. It came as more of a relief than she thought she'd feel hearing him say that. She imagined not many people would want to hang around somebody who snapped at them or stalked around in a fit of agitation. She watched him close the remaining distance between them and as he placed her arm in his, she mused over how even fewer people would want to get so close again. "Hey, I'm supposed to be a big, bad monster, remember? Scaring people off sort of comes with the territory!" She was happy to settle back into a jesting mood, it helping to calm her mind. Her friend, however, seemed to flip a serious switch for a moment, explaining that he was more than what he appeared, and that he could indeed fend for himself. The werewolf's smile faltered and a sigh passed her lips when Richard assured her that he wasn't trying to threaten her. It was disappointing that he deemed it necessary to clear that up, but how could she fault him after the outburst she'd had? Honestly, the idea of a threat hadn't crossed her mind in the slightest, nor was she offended by the statement. If anything, it was reassuring. He seemed confident that he was capable of taking care of himself and though she might remain slightly skeptical of just how well he'd fare against her should something push her past her limit, that confidence eased her worries a good deal. "Okay, fair enough... I trust you, Mr. Lady Killer." It was true. She did trust him, even if he was still somewhat of a mystery to her.

While they continued onward, Richard began ticking off a list of the things that they'd discovered about the maze thus far. Or, rather, things that he'd learned, because most of this was new information to her. His claim of creatures other than the ones living in the manor being at the top of the list. This hadn't been obvious to Amaris at all... There was such a wide variety of races living among them that she'd assumed everybody down here was a fellow resident, including what had been screeching just moments ago. She glanced behind her, more out of curiosity towards the creature that they'd heard rather than to see the evolving maze, which was indeed rearranging itself. Now that was something she wasn't completely surprised about, but the addition of other creatures besides the 'players' in the maze was what threw her for a loop. The rhyme and reason for that was beyond her understanding. She and the others were at the manor was for some kind of a chance at peace between races. If Richard was correct about that being the case, surely they wouldn't have added in anything too dangerous, right? Then again, their hosts did seem to be off their rockers...

Amaris stared at her friend with growing wonderment in her eyes as he rambled on with revelations, using terminology that was a bit puzzling. He had 'read into' the maze? Had been shocked because he was somehow cheating? What was he, some sort of clairvoyant? Richard was proving to be more mysterious than she expected. Any questions she may have had were placed on hold to fully pay attention and learn his discoveries. Multiple levels was another bit of information that didn't shock the werewolf too much; there had been a few points when she could have sworn she heard muffled sounds coming beneath them, but they were so few and far between that she figured she imagined them or that it was the maze. A prize for each level wasn't expected, however... That made things sound a little more interesting, like the spelunking adventures she went on with her siblings, although they rarely found anything. But it also sounded a huge pain since when what she really wanted right now was to be out of this place. As for other players on the same level, Amaris nodded at the mention of it, recalling how she had avoided the sound of voices when she first started making her way through the twists and turns of the maze. She waited to see if he had anything else to add in, but a silence had started to settle in and after a few minutes, she had to break it or else it would drive her nuts. "Boy, you sure are full of surprises. I'm glad at least one of us knows what's going on here." Curious as Amaris was to know about how he figured those things out, she wouldn't press him on the matter. Richard probably hadn't told her anything about what he was for a reason. Besides, he wasn't the only one keeping secrets... "Anyway, your guess about the participants on our level is as good as mine. I knew I heard others down here, but I wouldn't be able to tell you who, either. So many people have come and gone that I'm not sure I'd recognize even half of them at this rate. Heck, you might know a few more than I do... I'm sure you met somebody after you vanished last night, didn't you?"

Being as close as she was to the Penguin man took an exceeding amount of courage that Emery was fighting with. Her inner turmoil, the lack of trust she had in the unconscious man was only visible by the wary look in her eyes. The were walking, walking, walking. Where to, the pink haired changeling didn't really know and it only added to her feeling of dread. If it weren't for her large amount of trust in the human girl on the other side of Indiana Jones, she would have left him long a go and hightailed in the oppoisite direction that they were currently heading. To be honest, she would have sought out Xarces, the only thing that had truly made her feel comfortable in the last couple of days. Instead, here she was with the one man who threatened her and a helpless little human child, going in the opposite direction.

Gulping lightly Emery watched, suddenly aware that Maggie was moving away from her. Suddenly all of the weight of the Man was put upon her and she nearly crumpled. Avoiding him as best as she could, the girl let her hand go off of his body and watched as he crumpled to the ground. Emery stood there, her back straight and one eyebrow quirked. It felt good, for some reason, to see him crumpled in a pile like that. Slowly her arms folded around her little body in an attempt to warm herself. How long had it been since she had eaten? Two days? She couldn't remember but she did know that she was feeling really cold and really hungry, two things that ultimately made her feel sleepy. Leaning against the narrowed path her eyes followed Maggie into the darkness where she was... Helping something, or someone? Emery moved forwards, her head tilted in curiosity.

"Mags, darling?" Emery inquired curiously."Who do you have there? Is that.."her voice became more quiet as she mouthed the words 'your boyfriend' to the girl, a wicked grin on her lips. Emery scooped up the forgotten phone from the ground and held the thing out to the girl who had called her forwards. "I'm joking, doll. He is kind of a cute thing though, is he okay?"

Right now the Bunyip could only think of the time he'd have if he slept, before he knew he'd never wake up. His mind was saying that he could possibly sleep for an hour before he eventually ran out of the needed energy. The downfall of being such a large cold blooded creature was the rapidness that his body lost heat needed for energy. It is why most reptiles were small, the biggest being crocodiles, but they were still rather small compared to Ezi. Long, but flat, able to absorb heat and have it reach everything rather quickly. Bunyips were tall and bulky, muscular, it took longer and more time for heat to reach everything. But took only second for it to escape. Though, like a few fish that swam in the ocean, Bunyips had the advantage of their muscles moving together to create heat from friction. Not a lot but it was enough, same with their mane of fur that trapped heat with in. They had a few ways to keep warm when needed, but in this cavern of darkness where movement was out of the question, lie Ezi. Feeling lifeless as he let out one last chirp in desperation that someone he wasn't sure he actually smelt would come up to him. A woman who he'd just met but felt so connected and attached to. Who he kissed, and loved every moment of it. Who washed him so he knew what being clean felt like, and it was one of the more fun times of his life. He guessed that if that was his last night alive, than it wasn't that bad of a night. Possibly the only night of his life where true happiness was in his system. Because of this thought, Ezi was sort of getting too tired to continue forcing himself awake. If he had that last night of happiness, than he'd be content for now, and he'd hope that Maggie wouldn't be too upset with him if he were to never return. Slumber began to take his mind, things were getting a bit fuzzy, and he was about to pass out...

That was until something warm had suddenly wrapped around his neck. Soon after another object was placed on his head, forcing the beast to focus as much as he could. Clearly his mind was fading, but he needed to know what was happening. His vision was the first thing to pick something up, but it wasn't the person wrapped around him, it was the extreme glow of some body laying on the ground not far from him. With a cooler body standing behind it for a moment, before walking over to him and the person around his neck. Mags? Did this woman say Mags? Did that mean... "M-Ma... Maggie?" Ezi's weak voice finally spoke as he nuzzled the girl for a moment. Was this really his Maggie, here? Why didn't she speak? Was something wrong? Or was this person she with one of those people that didn't like the way Maggie spoke? Ezi wished he could ask question, be normal, but right now all he could do was nuzzle into the heat that Maggie was giving him. His icy body was stealing as much from her as it could, and right now she seemed to have some excess heat, possible from this other warm body. A body that if brought closer would be perfect for the Bunyip. "N-n-need... Heat..." His voice broke out once more, hoping the female would understand, either of them really. Of course he wasn't thinking that Maggie wasn't all that bright, but he figured her worry for him was why she was wrapped on his neck instead of pulling the heat source closer. And the other girl possibly didn't know that he needed any type of heat. Though it seemed this other one was in need of it too. As time passed the girl's figure began to fade in Ezi's sight, meaning she too was cold blooded. This wasn't really an opportune situation for Maggie it seemed, having two cold bloods in a cave that provided no heat. This other body must be some sort of good luck charm, and it was needed for the Bunyip's survival. It just had to be brought closer.

XxXAT first Maggie wasn't sure if she'd gotten there in time. As far as she could tell Ezi was gone. His body so cold it might as well have been part of the stone cavern around them, she could detect no sign of movement even as her arms wrapped around his neck offering what warmth she could contribute. It was terrifying how utterly still he was, still she tried to push from her mind any thoughts that he might already be dead and quickly beckoned Emery over so as not to be rude. The petite girl was doing her best to remain calm and not let on the overwhelming anxiety that welled up inside her even as she clung to Ezi's massive beastly form. The pinkette dumped her half of their shared burden in a graceless pile and made her way over to the pair, calling to her in a teasing tone that made Maggie look up. By the dim light of the phone Emery had retrieved the brunette could make out the word 'boyfriend' on her pink pout, framed by a face that was full of mischief. Instantly heat rose to the girls face burning a fine cherry red into her cheeks and a foolish sort of grin pulled at her lips. Thoroughly embarrassed she buried her face in Ezi's soft mane long enough to collect herself. It occurred to her that Emery was probably only joking, trying to get her back for asking if the thing that was banging on the wall earlier was her boyfriend. As he looked right now, more animal than anything, More would probably jump to the conclusion that Ezi was her pet before thinking he was her boyfriend. Even so after everything that had happened the night before Maggie could hardly contain herself. She had never really had a boyfriend before and the mention of the word now gave her a sort of giddy feeling that she didn't quite understand... and she might have already lost it all. She could only hope she wasn't too late.

Under her Ezi stirred ever so slightly and a knot in her chest began to loosen and she nodded into his fur her arms tightening slightly around his neck, hoping that would be enough to let him know it was her. His voice was so strained when he tried to say he name she figured he wasn't out of the woods just yet. But at least her warmth seemed to be helping him some. Sitting up for a second she took the blanket and draped it over the both of them so her heat would be trapped next to him instead of escaping out into the rest of the cave. It might make it hard for him to see anything but her head for a while, but he would still be able to feel her next to him anyway so it wasn't such a big loss. All settled in now Maggie accepted her phone from Emery and typed a reply to her questions with thumbs like lightning. ''Yeah? Ezekiel still new to the whole talking thing so I'm not sure if he gets the whole dating/relationship thing. But I think we're on the same page with being mutually exclusive. We got to talking least night and just kinda clicked.''
While she tapped away she made note that Ezi was letting her know he still needed heat. 'So I guess my body heat isn't quite enough.... well we can do something about that.' She thought and passed the phone off to Emery, hopefully now that she was aware that Ezi was a sentient being she would introduce herself instead of letting Maggie be the most awkward go-between ever.

Giving Ezi a small kiss on the rough moist skin above his brow, Maggie got up to do something about the heat in the room. Sure there was nothing to build a fire with, but who needed that when they had their own portable(ish) heater with them. So long as he didn't decide to wake up and walk off anyway. This time Maggie grabbed him by his boots and put quite a bit of effort into dragging him closer to them. In the process the unknown man's shirt hiked up exposing his back to the bare rock as she pulled him over the abrasive surface. She wouldn't be surprised if he was less than happy with her when he woke up to find he had some minor abrasions, but for the moment she really didn't care. Ezi needed to get warm and Señor Pantalones del Fuego had the heat to fix that little problem. Once she had him only a little way from where Ezi was laying Maggie dumped the male in a pile once more and went back to settle down again and snuggle up to Ezi. Once he had his energy back they could get back to finding a way out, and maybe he could carry their strange friend in a mutually beneficial arrangement. In the meantime maybe they could figure out some kind of game plan for getting out of these caves or finding whatever it was they were meant to be looking for.

The Sly Little Shape Shifter

When Fin returned to her human form, she couldn't help but laugh at Nora's reaction. She wanted to bow as if she had put on some marvelous act but her current location limited that."You caught me, a shifter I am."She said, looking down at Kae as he commented about her height."I'll have you know I'm about average for a human female...But yeah, ducking might come in handy...Eek...I forgot about your fins...Sorry..."The shifter watched him as he slicked it down, smirking some to herself."I like the slicked back look on you Kae. you should do it more often if it's no uncomfortable."By no means did Fin mean this as Kae was unattractive without his fin flat, she just liked seeing different looks on him.

Fin was a bit excited when Nora joined in with her high school reaction to Kae staying out all night, and was even more excited with Kae's answer."OooH~ Kae!!! I'm so happy for you, I'm glad you found a girl that makes you feel that way."She kept the part about them needing to find others outside of their own respected groups, not wanting to rain on his parade. She thought back to Grant, wondering if she was meant to be anything to him or if they would have that one encounter to themselved. It made her question if she would ever be with anyone or if she had been cursed to wander through life with many friends, but no special someone. She had her one, and maybe that's all she would ever have.

When she began snigging along the wall, she stopped with Kae's suggestion, shifting back to her human form with a dumbfounded look."That...that might be a good idea...I keep forgetting you have super strength."Fin said with a grin, standing back."Have at it, Kae."

There was a gentle slithering sound through the dark caves that surrounded the two girls. Accompanying the sound came a persistent drip, louder and louder it became as the noises approached the two girls. Just below their feet, the water started to rise. First it encompassed their ankles and then their knees, then it started to crawl slowly but consistently to their waste. The further along the tunnel they moved, the deeper it would get. Then, it touched them, the one with the moon-like hair. At first it was a gentle caress, as if a hand had gone across their shoulder and then the touch was a little more aggressive, poking and prodding, grabbing both of the girls by the wrist. To their left, from the sides of the walls vines started to grow and slither, reaching out to the life of the two women.

Journey and Shae encountered a pressurized filling tunnel. Water will continue to fill the cave until they back track twenty feet.

Journey and Shae encountered an enchanted vine. Fearful of bright light it will shy away when met with sunshine, or any kind of heat or light. The enchanted vine will wrap around the girls and the more they struggle the harder it will harm them. If they were to relax and accept their fate, they would find that the vines grip is less terrifying and may yield better results.

Her response was like knives cutting into his skin. He didn't expect her to be able to see him but he did expect that after all the time they had spent together, she would recognize his voice. An angry scowl crossed the werewolf's face as he crossed his arms. His head canted to the side a little bit more, as if he were trying to better see the woman jamming herself into the dark recesses. Her reaction was far more primal compared to the first time she had asked him the very same question and he could smell the terrible odor of her own blood and the destroyed creature.

"It's Renn, Genevieve. Your roommate."The white wolf paused, thinking about the next words that came from his mouth. He hoped that she would not take offence to it."Y'know, your boyfriend??" There was a nervous laugh that slipped from his lips but his gold eyes remained steady on her. If he wasn't on edge before, he was now. What in the world had she done to get herself in this scenario? Was she really that unstable that he left her for a little while, or was separated from her, and she would drink herself into stupidity or even eat something that was potentially harmful to her! He could hear his oldest sister now. If he was smart, this was a girl that he should be running a long way from but his loyalty to the vampire had already been established. Renn was not going to leave her. He was not going to let her continue to be in such a compromised condition.

Renn took another step forwards and caught a better sight of her. Her clothing was ripped, exposing large caps of her soft skin but it was marred by the ugly tint of black and red blood. If it were any other scenario he would have wanted to reach out and poke at her skin that was exposed, to run his rough palms across the smooth expanses but he could smell her distrust, it was palpable. Had he been wearing a shirt he would have taken it off and given it to her to help cover her exposed skin. Unfortunately that was not the case. Wearing only the flannel pajama bottoms from the night before, he shifted his bare feet and took yet another step towards her and then crouched, reaching a hand out to her.

"C'mon, there is a tunnel really close by that is darker. I'll protect you, I promise." That was the truth. If he could take back all the damage that she had faced, he would have. His entire search had been after her and now here she was."Did you get bonked on the head or something, Gen? Is that why you were so heavily sleeping? It gave me a nasty scare!"There was another scent that mingled with hers, two actually. One he had the slightest familiarity with from their days in the house. She smelled like him that mage that she had mentioned before. There was another smell, a much stronger one that he associated with the blood on her palms. Masked by her feathered kill, Renn had yet to smell this scent but it was not unlike the mage-man before. Perhaps another magic user. It seemed to him that his poor girl had gone through hell and back up to this point, and it looked that way too.

Nora closed her eyes when she felt Kae's cold hands on her temples, but she opened them when she saw the blue light peeking through her eyelids. She was in awe and surprisingly it felt like her headache was going away. Nora chuckled as she looked up at Fin, continuing their partial conversation. "I knew it was something, you sly fox." She laughed. When Kae mentioned ducking, she laughed, "Did you just make a joke about short people?" She pursed her lips and her brows furrowed, the pain that was there previously dissipated. "That's not very nice. I'm sure if I stood on Fin's shoulders we might be close in height." She teased lightly. But she knew that was a fat chance. Nora was the shortest one in the whole house and and was pretty sure with Fin's average height and her tiny stature they couldn't measure up to Kae.

The Druid listened intently to what Kae said about Shea. At first she was going to pout and claim that wasn't what she was talking about when she meant details, at first it was just a pretty basic account of what happened but then the juicy part came. Nora jumped with a grin, remembering to not jump up and down while hugging Kae. "That's so exciting! Oh this is great!" Nora was more than pleased for Kae, screw whatever rules that stated otherwise. She was more than happy now. She had good company and her headache was gone. What else did she need?

Kae and Shea sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Nora thought against singing the tune out-loud, though now that was all she could think about, so she hummed it lowly with a a small smirk on her lips. When Kae mentioned punching through the wall, the Druid held her hands up."Super strength? Damn. That's pretty awesome. If I had super strength I would never need help opening jars again." She trailed off with a happy sigh but then shrugged her shoulders. "Go for it. I'm not going to try and move that inorganic matter anytime soon. That s**t hurt last time." Nora glared at the wall as if it offended her personally.

Journey didn't know whether she was more astonished or thankful the girl hadn't noticed they had been floating in the air for a few minutes.Either way, it was over and done with and her secret safe. Before she could discuss anything with the pale haired female, an unsettling slithering sound met her ears. Turning her luminescent eyes towards the sound, she expected to see some kind of serpent, instead she saw vines...and they were everywhere. Journey wanted to run but had no where to run to, then things only went from bad to worse.A slight dripping started it all, then it became louder and more consistent and in no time at all ,the water had come up to their waist. Journey was in a panic, she wasn't a water type, she could easily drown.

While trying to formulate a plan, Journey felt a gentle touch from the vines. The gentle touches didn't last though, the plant soon becoming aggressive, grabbing their wrists and restraining them. Journey's head was on a swivel, watching as more of the vines reached for them as she fought against what had already ensnared her."Shea...You have any ideas on how to get out of this? I can't do water...and these stupid vines are getting worse..."Journey tried not to sound panicked, but her heart rate was through the roof and her mind was going a million miles an hour in a thousand different directions. Things didn't look promising right now.

I fear i will never find anyone...I know my greatest pain is yet to come

Shea felt water coming closer to her as it first began to touch her feet and ankles. Shea was not really scared at first at the slithering sound since she thought it might be an aquatic animal. Her mind though for some reason went to the little creature she and Kae found the night before. She wondered how he or she was doing, hopefully it had something to eat and was adjusting to its new surroundings rather well without them. Though feeling the vines wrap around her she too began to panic. The water filling up the hallway of the tunnel as well felt good and her Siren side wanted to take control. She was struggling internally with herself as she tried to keep in her human form. She saw how freaked out Journey was and she thought maybe seeing her change forms would cause the girl even more reason to panic so she added that to the list of why not to switch. Noticing with Journey's movements the vines were getting tighter around her Shea tried to stay still, which was something she was not too good at with the fear of being trapped in these vines. But she noticed they were not that tight around her. "Journey, stop struggling for a moment. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. I think the more we struggle the worse the vines grip is." Well at least she hoped she was right. Though on how to get away from them was another story. She had no special skills that could possibly help, well maybe breathing under water but still that would only help her and not Journey.

In spite of the intense pain that shot through her head and made her wince Genevieve didn't take her eyes from the new figure until he stepped out of the light and joined her in the shadows. The white hair and pale skin stood out in the dark. His face and form were familiar to her as his voice had been, but with her mind playing tricks on her she wasn't inclined to believe anything she saw or heard. He claimed to be exactly who she'd thought, but that meant very little to her right now as many of the faces and voices she had been trying so hard to ignore since ingesting the foul fowls blood had been those she recognized and even knew well. When the word boyfriend finally tripped off his tongue another manifestation joined him much more vivid than those that had preceded her roommates arrival, stepping out from behind as though he'd been hiding in his shadow the whole time. This one too was familiar, with pale silver hair and a single streak of black falling over his eyes .“Boyfriend huh?” the new male muttered in sullen tones that only the vampire could hear. “Some boyfriend. Making you rely on those nasty blood bags. Or didn't he realize how dangerous that can be, you never know when the donor's gone and gotten themselves killed and the bloods gone bad. Besides, look at the state it's left you in, barely sustained, always thirsty for more to the point you're desperate enough to drink god knows what... If he really cared he'd take you hunting like I used to. Didn't we have fun back then Gen? Come back to me. I'll take care of you just like old times.” Max. "N-no..." It came out quietly. She'd put him in the past, and she'd only confirmed that nothing would come of them when she'd seen him a few days ago right here at the manor, and again when she'd danced with him at the ball on her second night here.

A third figure stepped out of the shadows, a younger man this time with hair as silver white as the others but with eyes as dark as the depths of the deepest cavern that sparkled a deep red-brown when the light struck them. This one she felt she ought to know, but only recognized as resembling some hastily drawn sketches in her sketchbook. “Don't you know what he is?” the young voice snapped, clearly accusing him of more than simply being a werewolf. “How could you be such a traitor? But you always were a mutt-lover weren't you? Don't you know what his kind have done to us? To me? To your family?! Don't you have an ounce of loyalty left to your family?” the lad accused clearly disgusted to her. "no, no it's not-" before she could finish her protest the boy's face turned from anger and frustration to shock and fear and then, as though it were ripped from his shoulders the lad's head separated from his shoulders. Skin and muscle stretching before tearing in a ragged bloody mess. A horrified gasp left her breathless for a moment as the boys body lifted off the ground then was whipped back and fourth like a rag doll by some invisible force. With a snap the neck broke and the body fell to the ground, fair-haired head now drenched in the phantom blood of her hallucinations rolling awkwardly across the ground hampered some by the stump of spine protruding from the neck.

She might have stared at the sight in complete shock for several minutes, except the next thing she knew Renn was kneeling before her hand outstretched, blocking out that terrible sight. When she leaned to the side to peer around him the shadows of her past were gone once more. He was absolutely not at all reacting to the others shades, which lent some credibility to the reality of him... though why he was still here when she was clearly having not all there in the real world with him made her somewhat suspect. What was his angle anyway? Everyone had an angle in the end, that's just how it always worked out for her in the past and it made her cautious now when she found herself vulnerable. For all his words the vampire wasn't inclined to trust anyone just now with the paranoia that had become ingrained in her over the years amplified by the toxic blood she'd ingested. ". . .Everyone that has made me such promises in the past died shortly after." she informed him, her voice little more than a hoarse whisper. At least when she looked out for herself she was the only one that wound up in worse shape for it, this was a large part of why she'd spent the majority of the past years in isolation, only coming into populated areas when she needed to feed or was tracking prey... well that and it made it a great deal more difficult for certain people to find her when they didn't know where to look. But that was part of the past now wasn't it. Genevieve was absolutely certain that by now her uncle and those in his employ would have every idea of where she was, who she was with, and with whom she was getting close. It was only a matter of time before her nightmares became reality here. In that brief moment after he'd spoken the woman's attention had been fully on him for the first time since he'd made his appearance. Now her eyes snapped once more around her as though she expected someone to jump out at any second and attack. Her mind was playing tricks again, she couldn't quite tell if the chuckling she heard from far off was real, imagined, or some manifestation of the caves and the others wandering these tunnels. The woman's features became grim and she sighed. In her condition she wouldn't be able to tell what was real and what was not even if Vlad jumped down right in front of her and started in on a monologue about how she could still be of use to him and the 'family business'. Shaking slightly she reached out one bloodstained hand to grasp his, half expecting to pass straight through like a ghost or to feel nothing more than the cold hard stone that surrounded her. But to her mild surprise his grasp was firm, warm, human and for a moment she fixed her gaze on their joined hands as though she couldn't quite believe someone had actually come here for her, and even more baffling.... had remained once they found her.

"Did you get bonked on the head or something, Gen? Is that why you were so heavily sleeping? It gave me a nasty scare!" For the time being it was incredibly hard to focus and after everything that had happened that morning Genevieve hardly remembered the death sleep she'd put herself in the night before. Yet the reminder help the girl remember also how she'd come to trust this man enough to put herself in such a position with him and gave the hand a gentle squeeze. "What? No it- I was healing." It was one of those things she'd always been taught never to talk about even long before she'd learned not to trust. "Sorry... I uh... I guess I should have said something first." she said feeling incredibly awkward. She wasn't used to having to check in with people before doing what she felt needed to be done.
