Sunny California. Fast cars, sandy beaches and people strolling down every street. Cali' had become the number one vacation spot within the last few years, hitting record numbers of vacationers all over the state. Shopping were packed with back orders, restaurants doubled there orders and surf shops became all the rage again.

That is, until the Rising. People were getting sick, spreading the sickness and dropping dead like flies. Soon, half of the worlds population was piled up outside hospitals and in morgues. They couldn't bury the bodies fast enough. But, the sickness didn't just kill people it changed them, they died and got back up. The living dead had risen and caused wide spread panic and chaos worldwide.

It's been ten years since the Rising happened. The California streets have been left for the dead. Only few stayed within the state, even fewer still reside in Las Angeles. Those who stay to long never end up leaving, dead or alive.
You were smart deciding to stay by the beach in Malibu, avoiding Las Angeles completely. There had been rumors that boats would come pick survivors up near the harbor, so your stayed hoping, surviving. It's been weeks and no ships have been spotted, you are running low on supplies and decide to crawl out from where you've been hiding and scavenge or leave Cali' for good. This is where you story begins.
