The Story of Olympus.....↙↙

In 1995 the first few confirmed sightings of human beings demonstrating super human abilities, and over the next 10 years the entire world would become aware of this phenomenon. Early on this seemed to be an interesting new discovery, outreach programs were formed by government agencies to paying subjects in order to study their abilities. What of course started out as a feel-good science project by some of the richest scientists in the world hoping to solve a number of riddles plaguing the human genome. Like all government projects eventually a few Senators and other influential people began hearing about more and more extraordinary abilities, and decided to take more firm control of it.

In 2010, Khaos, a leader of the growing rebellious super movement appeared suddenly on a hijacked broadcast which was shown nationally in America, and with the help of news media was eventually received worldwide. It stated that humans were no longer the dominant species and that soon this would be shown outright. From then on a campaign waged on between the US military and armed forces, and what'd become known simply as The Family. Police in almost every metropolitan city were overrun, cities themselves were taken over, lawlessness and chaos broke out. For quite sometime it seemed as though 'super' control of America was all but inevitable, which would mean the world would only be a matter of time. In the military's last stand defending the white house and the Obama family against the oncoming threat of what now amounted to a small army of 'supers' of immense power splashed into a sea of smaller ones.

As they'd broken through the tanks all that stood before them was thousands of soldiers fortified within and around the building and the first family themselves. But just before the charge, a blinding light explosion shown within the courtyard of the white house, and Troy appeared before them all. After fending off the attack, Khaos included seemingly effortlessly he went on to explain that the Celestial council had decided that allowing the Supers to eradicate the human race was simply unacceptable. As the warden of this particular plane of existence, it was his duty to keep this from happening. Though he was not quite the savior they'd all hoped for, he did save the Obamas along with many of the remaining soldiers, though he did not kill any of the supers, though they attacked him relentlessly for quite sometime. Once they were satisfied they could not kill him, they listened to what he had to say. He told them that a haven was being created for all Supers to live happily and safely from persecution from humans. The city was crafted using a combination of celestial energy and dream matter, is unlike any other on Earth. Grandiose and luxurious beyond all imagination, the city itself, appropriately called Olympus.

Simultaneously, what remained of the state of Texas was cleansed of its rubble, the humans were relocated, and it was recreated into a huge city with towering buildings. The city itself was then filled with a number of celestial beings of all ranges and ages who would fill in the gaps in the population while other 'supers' worldwide were already beginning to be shuttled to the city. Now, in 2012, Olympus has already been up and running for just over a year, many of the 'supers' took up normal lives with their families similar to their lives before the change over. Arenas and other venues were constructed along with all of the normal luxuries of a metropolitan human city, though on a much much larger scale. But in the city's development not everyone found themselves inclined to live positive and constructive lives created a criminal element within the city. Low level celestial beings maintain order as something of a police force, but their effectiveness is similar to that of human police, up and down depending on who they're after. Over time some of the more powerful 'supers' began fighting for overall control of the city, while others felt it should be a safe and peaceful haven for supers to live. This contrast in belief shown as an emerging trend of so called heroes and villains, moving through the city under aliases, fighting for either side.

Downtown Olympus

arrow The Citadel Next to city hall this is the largest and most heavily protected of all celestial controlled buildings. It contains a miniaturize version of the greater archives within the celestial plane along with a number of other culturally appropriate symbols. While it was initially only a little taller than city hall, once the Prism tower was completed, several floors were added in order ensure it was the tallest building in the city. It's positioned dead center of the city, and its peak holds the machine which regulates the fields surrounding the city keeping anything from getting in or out. The building itself also serves as some housing for the more traditional celestials who chose not to intermingle with the humans. It is a building that is specifically off limits to humans, and an invisible field surrounding the building can only be passed or opened by a celestial.

arrow Genosha Outlet Mall: The mall itself represents a full square block within downtown Olympus which is roughly center city in relation to the outer areas. The mall itself is a 5 levels, the four corners of the block being large popular retail stores, while the middle area is a huge modernized mall concourse with escalators and elevators throughout. The mall itself was constructed to quite literally be a one stop shop for any and all of the citizens needs. Literally any and every store that anyone could need is held within this massive building, a testament of dream matter crafted in the likeness of American capitalism at its best. In all direction spanning out about a square mile from the outlet is a huge commercial center with everything from car dealerships, to law firms, essentially anything you could need in a centralized location.

-Burrows Exotics and Import: The building itself essentially looks like an upper scale dealership, a large front building with two floors, the first is a showroom of high end vehicles and current cars as well as the parking lot outside which houses about 40 cars comfortably. The second floor is offices, and the places where you can order and or import your own cars, as well as customer service. One either side of this front building are 2 shutters, leading to large garages, to the left of the building is the maintenance shop specializing in exotic and foreign cars and motorcycles. To the right of the front building is a customization shop, which does both body work and internal modification specializing in exotic and foreign cars and bikes. Each garage has 3 service lifts, snap on tools and a number of engineers, techs and mechanics all working in unison to complete orders in a timely fashion.

arrow Tezzeret Park: A two story park where half of the level ground is covered by a second layer supported by the roots of the trees above. Picnickers may enjoy a shaded area in the grass underneath the second level or a sunny day around the glow of trees up above. The north side of the park is covered with about fifty acres of wooded area. Hikers may enjoy the woods, but be advised that not everyone around is trustworthy, especially in a secluded place.

arrow The Den of Sin: Just outside of downtown, there's an area that no one dares to go unless they are looking for a certain person. A place that many have ventured to but yet, never returned. A twenty block area, consisting of a Gentlemen's Club called The Hell House, a hooka lounge called A Breath of Hell, random houses that look amazing, and a building that almost looks abandoned save for the steady stream of people going in and out. Everything looks like it's kept up by workers, mainly since no one is ever seen tending to it. Do you dare make your way in?

-The Hell House

-A Breath of Hell

arrow Eden Strip: The Eden strip is huge area just north of the mall in Downtown Olympus which in a word is the 'nightlife' of the city. This street runs a few miles long, either side lined with casinos, luxury hotels, clubs, bars, rave spots, strip clubs, whore houses, and more essentially it is the vice capital of Olympus. Many of the richest and most influential supers in the city own and operate these places from within the shadows. But interestingly enough any and all are welcome to indulge within these places, as there is much less emphasis on actual currency within Olympus. The use of powers in all forms of modern life has reduced both the costs of living and the costs of doing business to an obscenely low level within the city. As a result even the poorest people can still fully enjoy all aspect of the strip.

-Satin Star Casino/Hotel:
This multi-level gaming hall is home to hundreds of different types of slots and tables, think Benedict's casino in Ocean's 11. The entire place is surrounded by security that is undercover and out in the open. The casino floor is also watched by a complex networking of survaillance cameras with overlapping fields of few, and consistently watched by attentive security crew.

The first floor as one walks in, is restaurants and gift shops. Going up, the escalators you come to the first level with nothing but various types of slots. A single cage is on this floor for getting change and or chips. Waitresses walk about taking orders and providing free drinks as long as you continue to play.

The second level is nothing but tables, craps, roulette, poker of all kinds, black jack, and other games of this ilk. Cages on the northwest and southeast corners of the room, providing millions of chips a day to rich bastards who piss away a few hundred grand a week, to that industrial worker bringing his check here, even the gangster spending blood money...

The third level is only half devoted to the casino, a large club type setting, with fully stocked bar on the northern wall, and the middle of the huge room is a dance floor. High ceilings and luxurious seating areas make this one of the premier clubs in the city, though it caters to a much different crowd. There's also a very elite VIP section, no one truly knows what you can get in there, only the filthiest of filthy rich can be seen coming and going.

The Hotel lobby is located on the lower level near where the shops are, and the rooms begin at the 3rd floor and goes up to the 14th. This is one of the most ritzy hotel's in all of Liberty City, rooms are unusually expensive, and quite lush and luxurious should one waste the money on it. The hotel is almost as well secured as the casino, connected into a similar survaillance network also watched diligently. The difference is that it lacks armed security personnel .

-Gold Leaf Restaurant
Everyone's favorite restaurant in Olympus due to it's vast menu. A two story restaurant, the bottom story for every day customers, the top for special events and banquets. On the bottom floor, the entire bottom of it was open, only be cut in half by the bar that went around the center and that leads in the kitchen. You have two options to choose from when it comes down to seating and that's tables or booths. Any type of food, wine or drink can be found in the walls of the Gold Leaf, and if there's anything not on the menu that you want be sure to ask because the chef enjoys a challenge.

-Club Fusion
Drugs, drinks and dancing rolls crazy through it, though everyone has fun. Consumed by a large dance floor, everyone that comes to Fusion comes to dance. Along the left side of the club, from the middle of the wall to the door, there was a bar filled with bar stools and liquor. On the optimistic side, there were table for the few who didn't come to dance. On the very back wall, there was a stage that held the resident DJ, keeping him out of reach of the dancers.
Against the wall, as you walk in there is a set of stairs that lead up to the VIP booth. These are guarded by security and a camera system.

-Club Ezekiel: [x] Club Ezekiel was one of the night clubs/bars on the darker side of the Eden Strip. It served as one of the main meeting places for the "Villains" of the city, but not openly of course. On the outside, it appeared to be a normal, popular night club, but underneath, it was run by some of the darker villains within the city. You would think its name would give it away, but no one seemed to think twice about what could going on underneath this popular nightclub.

-Gavreel: [x] Gavreel was one of the more higher end clubs within the center of the downtown area, close to the center of town. A lot of the more rich and higher up members of the city come to this particular club. At times, it serves as a meeting place for some of the corrupt members of high end of society. It holds many dirty secrets of those corrupt members, but you wouldn't guess by the sleek, white decor of its lounge and VIP area.

-Area 7 [x] & Sandalphon Night Club [x]: Both bars are smaller end in the center of the Eden Strip. Area 7 attracts more of the rave scene while Sandalphon attracts more of the darker side of the city, similar to Club Ezekiel in that nature. Both clubs were directed towards the more urban side of the residential living when it comes to affordability.

arrow Prism Tower: Prism tower is a 20 story skyscraper deep within the heart of downtown Olympus, and is the base of operations for Prism Corp the company behind Genosha and a number of casinos on the Eden Strip. Civilian access is allowed up to the tenth floor, and is the site to one of the largest arcades ever created on the first two floors. The third and fourth floors are dedicated entirely to VR simulators created using Dream Matter. Floors 5 through 8 are office space for consulting agencies and a number of other business, from sales, to offering services, to a wide variety of other applications. Finally floors 9-10 are a food court and recreational area with pool tables and entertainment areas for visiting patrons, a large gym and a few other places as well.

-Arenas: All VR simulators on the 3rd and 4th floor are simply rooms, walking in alone the room itself will read your mind and craft a space as your mind desires. The place is nothing more than a dreamscape, projected into your mind by the room, yet once activated your consciousness is transported there until you wish to leave. The simulations can literally be anything, from a huge empty city to do battle in, a football stadium, an old greek coliseum, anything you can imagine it will conjure for you. And due to the use of dream matter which is regulated by celestial order, the service is free and open to all. All damage within the chambers are only real until the simulation is ended, where you simply wake up, perhaps very fatigued depending on how long you were inside. Outside of the tower there are many arenas built to appear as houses with rather obvious signs on them. Going inside them will begin the desired combat simulation, anyone who has used the simulator before is saved as a profile and can be used as a sparring partner without there presence.

Residential Areas

arrow Birchwood Gardens Housing Development: Within the suburbs of Olympus, you have homes that vary in size. Anywhere from your typical suburban homes to mansions in the higher end of the suburbs. Here is where a lot of your typical suburban families and your richer citzens live. The more money you have, the bigger the home and the better location you have within the suburbs of Olympus. They are broken into communities, the more typical sized homes within one community, your mansions in another, and the homes in the middle, size wise, in a third main community of the suburbs.

arrow Aparment Complexes: Throughout the city, some higher end just outside of the downtown and others throughout the Urban resident areas of the city, are apartment and condo complexes. Some of the higher end complex are mainly in the downtown area. The rest more urban complexes are throughout the resident areas of the city as well as on the outskirts of downtown.

arrow Prism Apartment Complexes: Prism's apartment complexes generally positioned around the main aspects of the city, one in Downtown, one in the Den of Sin, one in the Chester Commons, and one in the Estates. They are 6 story complexes with garages and nice sized apartments for affordable pricing.

arrow The Chester Commons: The commons was named such because it is essentially the hood, a mecca of organized crime, mostly victimless and more out of inclination than financial survival. Its also claimed by the Anarchy movement, the radical aspect of those remaining from Khaos' original rebellion. Housing is still relatively nice all things considered, its just much cheaper than anywhere else. These homes are not owned privately but rather publicly, and got be gotten for cheap at the assignment office downtown.

Celestial Beings

User Image

Celestials are essentially angels if you want to put it simply, but in reality they are beings from the celestial plane of reality. As a result they are naturally intune with this plane and draw their energy from it to utilize in a number of applications. Within the prime material plane they are forced to take vessels, depending on the amount of celestial energy they can utilize at once determines how powerful a vessel they can actually control.

-The lower level celestial beings all possess the ability to manipulate light and utilize celestial energy in its rawest form as projectiles as well as using it to augment physical attributes such as speed, strength, agility, endurance, and in some cases even regeneration. They possess a single pair of wings, and are relatively strong but still essentially in training, they are either soldiers working for the council or just people enjoying normal human lives within Olympus.

-The members of the council are granted more celestial energy as they are the ones truly meant to govern whichever society they are placed in. Impromptu councils for non celestial populations are selected from middle level celestial beings. They have more access to the celestial energies and thus can effect both elements and matter within the prime material to a certain degree. All forms of kinesis, light matter manipulations, and light elemental manipulations. They possess two pairs of wings, literally meaning their power is double that of the lower level beings, and their physical attributes usually naturally exceed human limitations in all respects.

-Seraphims, or Troy's kind are the highest level of celestial beings, given much more significant responsibilities and as a result considerable more energy within other planes. They possess the abilities of all other lower beings as well as the ability to effect reality itself within the prime material plane. There are never more than one of these in any one place because it can cause very serious consequences for them being that close. Its unusual to have more than one in a single plane, as their presence often effects alot all by itself. They have 3 pairs of wings, allowing them to use 3 times that of what lower levels use, them coming to the prime material depends solely on the quality of the vessel they used to contain them. As a corporeal summoner Troy is much more capable of this particular aspect as such his vessels always last as long as they're intended to. As a result though his power is extreme Troy is limited, and can not simply do what he wants or what comes the easiest to achieve his goals. He walks a very fine line...
Chapter Progression

Chapter 1: While the initial legal system of Olympus really only focused one murder and obvious victim crimes, after Troy's departure the celestial council began to trying to change the system. While some saw this as a civilizing effort of sorts, there were many who simply saw this as another type of control, one which was simply unacceptable for the supposed city of the gods. As a result a number of supers began to band together in a desire to eventually overrun the council and take control of the city. Those who may not necessarily support the new changes but still prefer them to all out anarchy begin to form up as well to combat this new potentially growing threat.

Chapter 2: Many groups have began branching off and forming different alliances against the current celestial regime within Olympus. The Rebels and Sun's Last Lust Mercenaries are just two of the larger movements, though smaller ones have formed as well. Tannis, the local council leader has began increasing security after the bombing of a small shop and the tezzeret park. As more and more unrest grows within the city, another threat looms just over the horizon, as a wayward angel prepares her trump card for the final finale.

Chapter 3: The sides in this particular conflict become way more polarized as Tannis' regime continues his attempts to 'civilize' the populace. His council guard has positively identified a number of members within the rebels, and a the war between these two groups is brewing heavily. A number of celestials sympathize with the supers including a council member and even some higher up. They understand Tannis' true motives and have decided to instead aid the rebels in their movement where possible. Many of these sympathizers have infiltrated local rebel groups and integrate themselves into them, Silas, head of the council guard is now responsible for their capture. Khaos, original leader of the revolution against the humans in America was released by a unknown celestial and teleported to the city. Upon reuniting with some of his people he'd reclaims leadership of the group and set in motion plans to begin the new revolution. Though many are still ignorant to the tensions brewing about them, theres no mistaking it... this city is heading for a war.

Chapter 4: The first move has been made and the war between celestials and supers within Olympus has gone from cold to hot. A few families were murdered within the chester commons, known affiliates of the rebels, who unknown to everyone were killed by a hired super [Rylos]. Khaos and Irina [Rebel Leadership] saw it for what it was and assumed it was celestials anyway. A fight broke out in which 4 lower level celestials were killed in a brazon attack on the celestial established bank within the city. Silas [head of the council guard] used this altercation to convinced Tannis and the power that be above to grant him more men with which to attack the rebel groups. It also initiated the spectre program that'd been going on behind the scenes hidden from most of the council members aside from Tannis. The programs offered super's a premature ascension which would considerably increase their power and allow them use of celestial energy in exchange for the service in eliminating the rebel threat... And now, the game is on.
