LUCE
It was pure agony to be walking, but Luce, however, kept her lips in a small smile as she put on her iconic rattan cowboy hat and zipped up her worn leather jacket. Her fingers felt numb and her muscles cried out for sleep, but Luce ignored it as she slung her hunting rifle across her back. The dark-haired woman sighed as she looked at her cracked Pipboy where in the dim green lighting showed her pulse. Too high for Luce's taste, but better then the last few days. Her heart went through one of its episode and she was bed-stricken for most of the time. And from what she heard from Jody who was busy making sure that she was still alive... From what she heard from the fire-haired girl, she had missed quite alot. A shame that she couldn't help put some lead into the raiders, she felt guilty but maybe the following days she could make it up to the fine folks of Falls Creek. She had a reputation to keep up, of course. The veteran woman from the South who can survive through everything.
Ah, cannibals, tribals, slavers (the hair on Luce's neck stood up and her pulse perked), and every other scum under the Commonwealth sun was coming to get them. She wasn't sure why she didn't feel so... anxious about it, maybe it was the fact that she survived against greater odds and for one thing there were highly skilled townspeople and mercenaries. And well, she had a great run and maybe they'll be a bar in heaven and maybe she could actually drink something that can get her hammered without her heart throwing a tamtrum. Giving a cough, she stuck her hands into her pocket where she waited for the young woman to come down so they could walk down for the town meeting. Giving a nod, they opened the door, and soon the morning air hit her lungs, as she peered over to her "niece".
Ah, a facade, they were as related a a cat to a dog. However, they looked alot like each other especially their amber eyes. Everyone in Falls Creek believed them to be related. Aunt Luce, that's what Jody called her and of course she was paid for her silence and keeping to her side of the story. She remembered when they first met, the girl told her life story and well Luce had a soft heart for those who were running away from their less than... normal pasts. So with a weary sigh and with a handshake with a promise she'll help her keep her identity a promise, they became aunt and niece. She was a sister from the mother's side. And though she didn't like to admit it, the situation did... help with her own illusion. Jody may have believed it was a business deal, but Luce looked out for her like...
An aunt.
Huh.
And that's why as they were walking, Luce couldn't help but give her own grievances,
"I know you're young,"
Luce gave a cough, her heart leaped out of her ribcage as she groaned in pain.
"I know you're a night-kind of person,"
An euphemism for a pretty girl who knows that she's pretty enough to attract unwanted attention.
Luce paused, thinking of the words to use carefully.
"I... just don't want you out so late. They're so many things going on. Lots of shady people these days," Luce said as she sighed, she turned her gaze forward. Her experience told her that youngsters liked to do whatever the hell they want and she was in no position to tell Jody what to do. Hell they aren't really related.
"Ah, you don't have to listen to me. But just watch out for yourself,"
Luce paused,
"Huh... Are you staying out late cause you fancy a boy?" Luce asked with a laugh as she nudged the girl with her shoulder.
