"Earth. Year 2029. 10th month. October. Captain's Log #348." Someone stared out of the window of a large aircraft flying high through the clouds. Visibility was impossible but that's how they wanted it to stay. They were speaking into an old, broken down recorder that wasn't used in a long time. Most would question where they even came across it and they would normally respond with something like 'the internet'. Of course, that was a joke because no one really used the internet anyway. If you were MARKED, you were being trained. If you were a LOST, you were barely making ends meet to survive. And if you were chaotic, well... That was a different story entirely. They began to speak again, even though the recording device they had shorted out a little bit. "The time is currently 3:45am. Team White is currently avoiding all contact with the outside world because they were attacked by a group of human Chaotic about an hour ago in Neo Germany. We managed to escape but only because we were able to hide and use the many different types of forestation around us to do so. We have been traveling through the clouds for about an hour now to avoid their detection of anybody else who might want to do us in. Unfortunately our plan to secure a few Chaotic and send them off to the facility for testing did not go as planned. We will soon touch down on an island an hour away from Neo Germany. We hope that things will go as planned.from this point on. Captain's side note; Today is a boy day."

He let go of the recording button and sighed, the cape on his back swinging as he turned around, walking over to a shelf that was packed to the brim with a bunch of these Captain's logs things that he would make from day to day. He turned around to see that the room was relatively empty and that's because, duh, he was nowhere near where he needed to be. He had left the bridge for a moment because he wanted to record that. Often times, he would come to certain rooms in their ship and just stare out. The clouds seemed to be the only thing that remained the same. Out of everything, the clouds stayed looking exactly the same. Whether it was a bad or good day for him and his crew, the clouds just stayed as they were. Clouds. Sighing once more before walking out of that room, Al pulled his cape a little closer to him just in case it got stuck in the automatic closing doors and made his way back to the bridge. It was a quiet walk back to the bridge. Considering that there were only always the ten of them on this ship and the many, many vehicles that they would use to get around, it was quiet like this sometimes. If this was anywhere but the ship, the quietness would be strange but the tranquility here was rather normal.

When Al got back into the bridge, he saw that everybody was doing things on their own, but it seemed, as he looked outside the large window in front of him (that also acted as a screen), that there were coming out of the clouds themselves. Al sat down in a revolving seat in the middle of everybody that was slightly elevated off the ground. "Status report, please." He said, draping his cape over his front, and placing a hand near the side of his chair where his sword was located. His gun was on a holster on his side, no bullets in it at the moment. "Are we doing okay now?" He wanted to know if his team was okay now. After all, he should care about his crew, right? Regardless of what Brotherhood wanted from him, he had always sort of cared for the well-being of his crew. He was very blunt and serious with them at times but he always cared for who they were and how they acted.

                                                              That made ten today.

Noriko's slender fingers delicately folded the paper in her hands, and in a matter of moments, she had created a small paper crane. She looked it over, holding it in the palm of her hand, softly running a finger over its tiny little beak. It was crooked. Even though folding paper cranes was what she usually occupied her time with, she had yet to reach her goal of 1000, because unless it was perfect, she didn't think it counted.

Ten imperfect cranes. She set that one back into her pocket, and removed another small piece of paper. With a sigh, she began folding again, putting a bit more time and effort into this crane. She rarely got this much free time...If she wanted to fold enough cranes before it was too late, she'd have to stop being so careless.

Her brow furrowed. She didn't really believe that. Deep down, she knew this wouldn't accomplish anything. Even if she reached her goal, having her wish granted was--well, it was a fantasy. A small hope she had held onto ever since she was a child. It wouldn't really work, it wouldn't really do anything. But it made her feel better. It let her believe that even from here, she was still able to help them...

She looked down at the perfect little crane in her hand. It wasn't true, of course. She could fold 1000, 2000, or even 10,000 cranes, it wouldn't matter. All Noriko would have is a bunch of paper birds, and an empty hope.

Noriko shook her head. Since this crane was perfect, she gently placed it into a small little velvet bag she carried with her at all times. As she was tying the string back around the bag's opening, she glanced up to see Al entering the bridge. She said nothing to greet him, and immediately focused her attention back onto the cranes.

She didn't enjoy being around the others, but if anything came up, she needed to be close by. Hanging out on the bridge with everyone else was not how she wanted to spend her time. If she had it her way, she'd be holed up in some corner of the ship somewhere. Somewhere nobody could find her.

But as long as nobody tried to approach her, she could at least tolerate the presence of others.

Assuming someone else would answer Al's request for a status report, Noriko resumed folding cranes. She only had about 50 perfect ones stored away so far...She used to have more, but had lost them fairly recently. A few days ago, during a fight, the bag she had kept them in had been destroyed....That had been a bad day for her.... And for just about everyone else who tried to talk to her that day.

That song in my head...can you hear it too? [Current Theme: Contemplation: Lament Over the Howling Age]
My power comes from the machines that I create, nothing else... [Technical Specialist]
My weapons are love, justice, and twenty-four tons of heavy weaponry! [Weapon: Unarmed]
As long as I can keep fighting, I'll do it... [Condition: Alive, Right-Arm Detached/Damaged]

Ahh...the sound of sparks flying and gears whirring was a sound that was jarring to some, but a comfort to others, if very few. Anybody else might've been disturbed by the sight, but she saw it for what it truly was. In the lightest way possible of thinking about it, if there was a wound on an artificial limb, it became an artificial wound, and otherwise, pointless save for the aesthetics of an undamaged limb. Gear watched carefully as she played with the wiring and shell that made up the entirety of her right arm. It didn't look pretty at all. She had removed the artificial skin to deal with the damage that had been caused, but by the severe extent of the damage, she was going to be working for a while. She casually held her music player in her mouth as it routinely played her songs on random. In her left hand were the tools of her trade, while her entire right arm simply laid on a table. She felt the occasional shoulder-twitch, but she attributed to prior damage on her arm.

She didn't look too far removed from a regular woman, but she didn't look normal either. Blue jeans and black high-tops highlighted with white soles made the entirety of her look, as well as a worn-out, long-sleeved pink shirt being tied around her waist while a black sleeveless singlet decorated her torso. The fair-skinned woman might've been, generally, only focused on the technological aspect of life, but she didn't neglect her own growth and development either. She was toned, and looked as though she could hold her own in a fight, but she had something of a lazy and disinterested slouch as she tried to get her arm back in to optimal condition. Ebony black hair covered neon-blue eyes, and mostly concealed Gear's facial expression when somebody was called upon to report their current status. She sighed and turned to their leader, her right hand twitching violently and randomly since she had left it with the tool inside while speaking to their team leader.

"I can confirm that nobody died, at least." Gear seemed to be bitter, or annoyed when she spoke, not because people lived, but because they "more or less" escaped with their lives. She'd been repairing damage done to her right arm for the longest time since they were attacked. The massive gaping canyons torn in to the metal of her right arm were almost gone, but a few obvious marks highlighted where she had been hit...they were simply empty space in a cold metal object, and wires that'd been rent beyond the capabilities of a normal mechanic. She had almost finished her maintenance, but since she left a tool in her arm touching something important, it started to wildly react and move without her command. She didn't seem to care at all, though. "We escaped with our lives relatively unharmed, but progress has been minimal, and it's shrinking even more since we only recently made a clean escape. "Clean" also being a relative term when you take in to consideration how sloppy the execution was."

Seven years. She'd been doing this job for seven years, and each time it seemed as if the soldiers she worked alongside had increasingly unorthodox mannerisms and ways to approach situations. They were spontaneous, and she found that an endearing trait in the teams she had been switched to for seven...or nearly eight years at the time. "Speaking of sloppy, retreating may have revealed flaws in their formation. It's kind of poetic when you remember what they're called, so I expected disorganization. Unfortunately, since they come in droves...it takes a bit more thought than just thinking about it." They didn't have any time to run advanced combat simulations, though, did they? They spent time on that back when they weren't even fully trained. Gear stared at the ground and shook her head with a sad sigh passing from her lips. "I lost a damn good drink, though. That was the only casualty." She didn't bring it with her when the retreating had started, but she did upon the beginning of the mission. She forgot it somewhere along the line, but only because she had to focus on more pressing matters. Their lives meant more than a soft drink, supposedly.

It was quiet, though that was a good thing. So much had happened just a little while ago that at the moment all Shiloh wanted to do was rest up and relax before business required them to go out again. Honestly, they hadn't expected things to go so poorly, but no one seemed to be hurt that bad so far and as such they weren't too worried about the state of things here. If nothing else it seemed as though their current position allowed them to stay at relatively under the radar, and Shiloh had to be thankful for that. It was quiet, though that was a good thing. The current state of peace allowed them to relax and go back to their books, dusty old things that they'd picked up here and there. Thankfully text on a page couldn't malfunction or short circuit like most older technology. Biology, just old, likely outdated textbooks with diagrams and shown cross-sections of animals from years ago, but they were still interesting. And at least in terms of behaviors and self defense, the information seemed relevant. Shiloh had always had an interest in such things, even more so now that they'd spent so long learning the effects of such things first hand. Venoms and poisons, the knowledge was almost second nature by now, but it was always better to keep the information fresh. Reading in their downtime was a calming, interesting hobby.

As they noticed Alphonse enter, they glanced up briefly, watching the other move around and take note of their surroundings. It seemed the clouds could only cover them for so long, but hopefully that had been enough to throw the Chaotic off their trail. At least for the most part. Noriko didn't respond, but that was normal and Shiloh sighed, doggy-earing their page and sitting up a little straighter. "Seems like it. No one looks too hurt or anything.... And from what I've been listening to... there hasn't been a lot of activity. I could be wrong though... haven't been paying much attention..." They probably should have been looking out, watching over monitors or something useful but honestly they just hadn't been interested. Not like anything had jumped out at them, it didn't seem like there was a lot of danger and Shiloh was just fine with that. Saved them the trouble of fighting anymore.

"Still... she has a point..." They mumbled, leaning back to rest their head on the wall. "That was sloppy... We're not dead but that could have ended badly. Working as a unit doesn't really seem to be our strong point, does it...? At least not when it comes to actual combat... But oh well... It'll bite us in the a** sooner or later, but at least we can always p***y out and run. Brave soldiers and all that." Not that they had wanted to stay in the first place, fighting was always such a nuisance and really in that situation turning tail looked like the best option in the end. Though they really did need to work on organization.

Amara sat back heavily in her seat with a silent tired sigh. They had just barley made it out of there, luck had been on their side that there were no serious injuries or casualties. But even with no injuries to speak of it was very disconcerting they had to retreat. While Amara did not care for battle she did not enjoy having to back down from a job that needed to be completed. If something is going to be done then it should be finished to completion. But it was best to escape with their lives than die needlessly. She had received some cuts and abrasions but those were easily healed by her. Laying a hand over them and going through the commands it began to heal though she would continue to be a tad sore.

The long staff by her side jingled softly as she pressed a small button on it's side, within seconds that staff folded within itself until it no larger than a foot tall and easily stored on her side. It helped to have a point in which to direct the flow of her magic and the staff provided that. As well as serving as a weapon should she so need it. It was made of well weighted metals that could deliver serious blows but still light enough it was easily swung and carried. Not to mention it was heavily tested against various severe elements to withstand her use of magic. Amara was not the best at hand to hand combat but she did well with her staff. She was better suited to distanced attacks than rubbing noses with the enemies.

Reaching behind her the women gathered the ends of her long red hair and tied them once again. In the rush of the ambush and their escape her mane of hair had come untied. It was often inconvenient to have such long hair when one was out fighting but she could just not bring herself to cut it. Amara only bound the ends of her hair, it kept it from waving everywhere and getting in her face, but allowed it to move comfortably. Perhaps she could braid it later.

The captain had returned shortly and received a status report, most of the team were also not pleased that they had to retreat. Noriko remained silent, intent on her craned bu that was very common place for the women. Though the way in which Shiloh spoke troubled the red head.

" It's best we were able to escape with our lives though. But with this latest retreat perhaps we can learn from our mistakes? " Amara offered gently. It seemed though Gear had a similar inkling as she stated their retreat had revealed some flaws in the enemies formation. That could be very beneficial in the future. Target the flaws to further weaken their structure and so forth.

                                                                    OTHER The team

There was thing about working with people in this era of time. They weren't the best people to work with. Al didn't really have much of a problem with any of them in particular but most of them were actually negative Nellie. He sat back in his chair and closed his eyes, not allowing anything any of them said to bother him. It was rather, the lack of responses he got that bugged him. He already knew all of this, and while he expected them to fill him on the situation that happened, it didn't do very good to ease his annoyance. He pulled out his pistol out from his holster on the side and pointed it at the front console/window in front of them. They finally emerged from the clouds completely, allowing anyone who was going to attack them to actually do it. "Amara is right, everyone." Al voiced his opinion on everything they were saying, spinning his Beretta Pistol on his finger. He gripped it tightly, this whole situation giving him a bad feeling. He didn't know why but he felt... that they weren't quite out of danger yet. "Despite the fact that our execution was sloppy, it allows us to live another day and think of another strategy to back to Neo Germany at some point. That'll allow us to strike first since we already know what they're going to do. Chaotic don't have a varying style of fighting. Once they see how we fight, we expect that we're gonna fight again until they... don't and..." Al pointed his gun at the window and imitated a gun going off. "...boom. Done. Luckily, that area of Neo Germany wasn't exactly populated with powerful Chaotic so it shouldn't be when we go back. That's how Brotherhood wants it done so we'll get it done next time. When I get the chance, I'll report our progress." He actually didn't want to offer his opinion on how well they worked as a team because he figured they would all think the same way anyway regardless of what he said. So he just kept his thoughts to himself and didn't offer much contribution in the way of that. Al stood up and walked down to the lower section of the bridge where he could touch the window that was in front of him.

Al's eyebrows furrowed, and he realized that everything around them sounded too quiet. Despite them usually being used to that now, especially with some members of the group, the area around their airship seemed too quiet. Just as Al turned around, there was a very strange bump that was enough to knock the ship around for a second. "s**t." Al said, knowing that something didn't feel right. Another bump knocked the airship all over this place and this time, Al could have sworn he heard an explosion on the left side. Al groaned, quickly running over to a cabinet where there were a few parachutes and stuff. He grabbed one for everybody including himself, quickly putting it on. "If you've been paying attention to what the hell's been happening, everybody knows the drill. We'll have to get our creator here to make us a new one." Al turned around, as the airship was suddenly beginning to topple over. Luckily, as the airship did, he could see the ground beneath. "See that island? I'm gonna shoot open the window and we will parachute down to that island. They're using heavy, far range weapons to get us and there seems to be a jungle down there. We can hide down there. When you land, communicate back to me through our ear pieces. We'll regroup then." Al pointed to the ear piece that glowed a bright blue color, and turned back to the window.

Shooting at the window a few times to make sure it busted open, Al hopped out of it, skyrocketing as fast as he could down towards that little island. It was a small target but luckily, the explosions from the attacks pushed them closer to it. Al felt bad for making up this plan off the fly but this was the plan they had whenever this type of bull happened to them. Al focused on the objective at hand and when he was half of the way from diving, he opened his parachute and shot back up for a second, slowing drifting down to the surface. It seemed to be no initial aggression but he didn't want to take the chance. He hid behind a tree that was slightly in front of him, and quietly pressed a button on his ear piece, speaking into it. "Team White. The Captain has landed. I have landed safely. Report on what happened to you and if you need help as soon as you hear this."

A crumpled up paper crane fluttering to the ground was perhaps the only sign that Noriko was agitated. The last mission had been a failure, as far as she was concerned. The plan had been poorly executed, and for her, that meant everything. Noriko was trained, built, for efficiency. She had worked hard to perfect the art of killing, and doing so quickly and quietly. That required a plan. A course of action. A very detailed and particular flow, or else everything could go wrong. The moment things went bad, she was at a loss.

She clicked her tongue with annoyance. That was her biggest weakness. Her inability to adapt. It was just another sign that she still needed to improve, that she still had a long way to go before she could be the best. But this whole team...it didn't work for her. It slowed her down, it made it impossible for her to grow and improve like she needed to. How was she supposed to do her best when she needed to watch the back of others?

But she was stuck with them. She could beg and plead with the higher ups to be assigned elsewhere, or to somehow be left to do work on her own, but she already knew what they'd say.

                                                              'No.'

That was when Noriko noticed it too. The silence. As much as she adored the quiet, she knew there was a time and place for it. True silence was almost never a good sign. It meant something (usually her target) wasn't where it was supposed to be.

"What is--" But that was as far as she got before the ship jolted to one side, sending her and all her paper cranes to the ground. Noriko pushed her hair from her face, and whipped her gaze towards the window.

"Were they following us the whole time?" A rare question was wondered out loud as she got to her feet. Noriko put on the parachute as she contemplated what that meant. Had they been trailed, or simply found?

Once the window was shot open, Noriko took a running start and dove out into the sky. Every instinct told her to pull the chute as soon as possible, but she forced herself to wait. An airship under attack usually meant pieces of debris would go flying, and with her chute open too early, she risked it taking damage.

It was nerve wracking, waiting until she felt a safe enough distance, but at last she was able to open up her parachute, and slow her descent towards the island below.

"Tch, wonderful," Noriko hissed, as she lowered right into a group of trees. She didn't resist, and just let herself fall, until the parachute finally tangled itself in the thick cluster of branches, leaving Noriko hanging in the air.

She was limp, suspended in the air, staring at the group with an expression of annoyance rather than fear. She had a knife with her, she could easily cut the ropes...But whether the fall would kill her or not was up in the air. The branches below her were thick enough that they could slow down her fall. If she was lucky, she'd escape with a broken bone or two, but walk away with her life.

Her other option was to contact the others and wait for help.

                                                              ...

Noriko reached for the knife strapped to her leg.

It took a few moments of sawing at the rope, but eventually she was free, and her plummet towards the ground continued. The first smack against a thick branch knocked the air from her lungs, but in a way, it worked in her favor. The pain and shock of the first hit was enough to numb the impact from the remaining branches, until finally she hit the hard and unwelcoming floor of the earth.

The fall hadn't been long, and the branches had slowed her down just as she predicted. There was a terrible pain taking up the right side of her chest, but she would live.

She heard Al's voice in her ear, and pressed a finger to the earpiece. "I-I've landed," She stammered, her voice shaky and breathless. She closed her eyes, and inhaled deeply, wincing as she did so. "I mean, the Assassin has landed, Captain. No troubles to report,"

She slowly got to her feet, clutching the right side of her rib cage. Noriko surveyed her surroundings, before choosing a direction to begin walking in. Unsure if her companions were the only ones on the island, she kept her steps silent. She took great care to not tread upon any twigs, or leaves, and kept her breathing as steady and quiet as she could manage with her injury.

╚╗╚╗ Euphi ╔╝╔╝

The last few days were rough for Team White. Tensions were high and nobody seemed to be getting along with anyone. They all just seemed interested in not being a team. The last mission proved that. Euphi had gone out first to scout the area of Neo Germany to find the Chaotic Base that the Brotherhood informed them of. But as soon as she gave the clear for the rest of Team White to proceed, things went south. They had been divided from each other, each fighting their own battle. Barely having the time to take in air before the next wave of Chaotic stepped forward. Some how, through all the chaos, they were able to hear their Captain Alphonse's voice telling them to with draw. They had fought bravely, but the sheer mass of the Chaotic Forces would have done them in if they had stayed.

So here they were, on the ship, hiding in the unsuspecting clouds that didn't have a clue what had just transpired. Euphi sat in sleep mode as she charged her battery. She was hooked up to one of the many charging stations that Brotherhood had installed for her. Euphi didn't need to sleep or eat much like a human anymore because of her robotic parts, but charging and maintenance came with the territory. She could hear the conversation that was carrying on with her Electronic Audio Receivers, or EARs for short, but as she "slept" there was no way for her to respond. There was nothing more that Euphi could really add to the conversation except that the way the mission went seemed....planned.

Just as Alphonse was about to speak more on the last mission, a blast hit the ship, jarring Euphi from her port but the wires stayed connected. The ship was going done and fast and with out her battery being fully charged there was no way for her to disconnect. Every one took their parachutes and headed out the hole the Captain created for them. Euphi knew that the only way she would make it was if the ship hit dry land. And it seemed today, luck was on her side... somewhat.

Euphi jolted up from the floor of the wrecked airship. It looked like everyone had made it out. She looked at the charging cords that were still attached to her limbs and back. If she was able to move while plugged in, it meant the batteries were dead. Her EARs twitched with an incoming message from the team Captain.

"All EARs!", she stated in a joking way. "Well, I still have my EARs. I'm in the ship still and it looks like the batteries are shot." Her bright grey eyes scanned the area that used to be the Bridge.Fire and sparks lite the cavernous space show Euphi that is was the ceiling she was standing on.

"Everything is topsy turvy in here!", her high voice said in a dizzy way over the earpieces that connected them. Euphi looked to her pendant that let her know what percentage her battery was on. It wasn't good. "I still need more sleep, Captain! I'm only at 70%."

Ryo Sawamura

"The Master of the Fist"

No choice, retreat or lose yourself to the Chaos that took your family from you, die without purpose. Without closure for the death of your family. Live to fight another day, but to what end? To restore order and balance to the world, right the wrongs of Chaos, or fight in vain until Chaos returns to Earth. The thoughts raced through Ryo's mind, an endless back-and-forth of recurring battles and what-if scenarios. Having been forced to retreat from the field of battle, Neo Germany still lost to the forces of Chaos, his scars burned with rage, he had been recruited to FIGHT back against Chaos, not run away when odds were against him. But there must be balance, without balance, there is no order, and without order, we cease to exist, regardless of our will to fight. Without balance, life is meaningless, and our resolve is of no importance to the fate of the wretched world before us, an endless void of darkness waiting to swallow us and all that we perceive to be true and just. As if we had never existed. That is why we must fight, we must fight to maintain order, if we die, we are unable to fulfill this duty. In not being able to fulfill our duty, we fail, we lose, we fade into nothingness, defeated. We MUST fight. We MUST succeed, no matter the cost, in order to succeed, we must live to fight the coming battles. Yes, I remember now. Ryo had been in meditation since they reached the ship, he had done it for years, shut himself off from the outside world, to reflect on the events in life, and prepare for those to come in the future. With his newfound understanding of the team's latest failure. He could wake up now, but did he want to? There wasn't much more he could really reflect on, but when he was in his meditation state, he could be more, he could revisit the past, relive the days before the Chaos came, but it would be in vain, his father had taught him that, that living in the past without the intent to learn from it you will only create more demons. Ryo had made the decision to move on some time ago, so he couldn't turn back now.

As he awoke from his meditation state, Ryo found the ship in peril, they were under attack. Not good, need to get my ear piece, quickly. His thoughts raced again, trying to make sense of things, but things were going South way too fast, he couldn't compensate for the movement of the ship to grab a parachute, let alone make it out of his quarters on the ship. Luckily enough, he managed to snatch his ear piece in the midst of the chaos. But the chute was definitely a lost cause at this point, he could see out of the window and the ship was insanely low, they were about to fall through the jungle canopy, he had to get out. Quickly, he grabbed the sides of the window, and hammered away at the special glass with both legs, getting closer to freedom with each kick. More and more, the window began to break, giving way to the sheer force of his blows, just a few more and he'd be out, he could survive this. There! Finally, his foot went through and he could expand the opening, kicking away the remaining glass. Now he just had to jump and pray, that was it. Ryo took a running dive through the window, the leap of faith, it was the only chance he had right now, seeing as he'd rather not be inside the sip when it got scuttled. Alright Ryo, aim for the leafy parts, foliage is your friend. Coincidentally, he hit leaves, and many, many branches, but the damage wasn't major. However, he wasn't very thrilled with leaving the incense burner from his dojo on the ship, that only served to piss him off. He didn't waste much time putting in his ear piece. "Sawamura here, I made it off the ship, what happened?" This was the only downside to meditation, being out of the loop came with the isolation needed to reflect. And in battle, being out of the loop can be a death sentence.

"It seems our... previous mode of transportation was destroyed. And we were... expertly followed." Al said quietly, sighing over the situation that had just taken place. Not only did they need to find each other through this thicket of endless forrestation... They needed to build a brand new mode of transportation. Al had no idea what was on this island in the middle of nowhere so he decided to simply continue with his explanation to Sawamura. "It turns out that the Chaotics that we were following that were lead by that... human abomination were following us and as soon as they saw us come out of the clouds, they were on us. Our continuous dissemblance of our group did not help either. Ignoring that for the moment, it is good to hear you are all okay. Some of you did not respond to me what I said so if there's something going on near you, please don't do anything foolish. We don't know what's on this island so make sure, you find someone else first. If you find anyone dangerously powerful, retreat. If you all have such a problem with our teamwork, let's make an effort to change it. Be positive and survive. Oh, and Euphi," Al paused for a second, thinking of what would be the course of action for her. "Please exit the remains of the ship. We'll find some way to power you up completely later on. If you can, meet up anyone closest to you." Al shut off communication with his group for the moment, managing to slip out into a thicket with an open area.

Al breathed in the happy air in this one section of the island but noticed that there was tall grass ahead of him. He smiled and unsheathed his Okatana and cut through the grass without a problem. That's when, as he continued on, and the night continued to howl on, he heard a few voices on the other side of where he stood. He cut open a little hole for him to see and listen through, eyes widening at the sight of the creatures that stood in front of him. What... what even were these things? They looked kind of human but... they couldn't be, right? New Chaotic were developing all over the place and so, Al needed to start to be one of the first to stop it. Just as he was about to jump out and seize these creatures, he heard a noise behind him. He turned around quickly, pointing his gun directly at one of those same monsters heads. Without hesitation or another noise from them, Al pulled the trigger, the sound ringing through the air, blowing its brain out onto the ground. Holding the Okatana in the other hand, he turned quickly and cut through the grass, cutting through another one of these creatures. Shortly after doing this, he realized more were on the way.

Only one was left around him but he knew there were more of them around all over the place. This island was relatively large and he there was more to come. The thing stabbed at him with its bone-sword arm but Al easily parried it and fired his gun several times at its chest, tearing it apart. These things had relatively tough skin around the heart but not around the head. A few shots was all it took but Al would need to conserve on the bullets for a moment. He didn't want to reload in the middle of a swarm. Holstering his gun again, Al took his Okatana in hand and charged forward, hearing a noise come from his left. He turned around quickly and slashed at the air, just missing the creature that made the noise. Al dove forward, and tackled it to the ground, driving his blade into its head, and tore it from its head, leaving it dead right then and there. Al was finally in the clear, for the moment. He nodded and continued on forward, gracefully, cutting through the grace like a true samurai. He was always on the ready, knowing that more would definitely be coming his way... "Unfortunately, it seems we are not alone. Be on your guard, more than ever, Team." Al shut off communication once more, warning his fellow teammates.

They were never safe. One of the many risks of being a MARKED, you were never truly safe anymore. The CHAOTIC wanted your head and the BROOTHERHOOD needed you to go out and risk it all. Though if it meant protecting innocents Amara would gladly risk it time and time again, which she did. Though it would be nice to have times of peace, to be a normal person again or at least what she assumed what was a normal person. Ever since she awakened to her latent abilities her past life had become very hazy so she could only speculate how she was once a normal young women. She was lost in thought when the plane took the hit. It knocked the women out of her seat and to the ground!

" Ah! " she cried out in surprise as she quickly picked herself up and grabbed her staff from her side.

Hearing Al's orders Amara took her parachute and waited for the window to be shot out. As soon as it was broken open the other members began leaping through. With the parachute strapped to her back Amara took her own leap and the island came rushing up to meet her. The wind was fierce and small explosions were going off all around her, debris from the plane whizzing every which way. She waited until she should be out of range for the heaviest bits. should one of them hit her chute she would plummet to the ground.

Another loud explosion sent her ears ringing and she felt a hard thud hit her in the back as her hair whipped around her. Feeling she was out of the worse she yanked the cord and the chute shot out but she felt hardly any tug. Normally she would have shot up as the chute would catch the wind and bring her safely down but nothing! Amara continued to plummet to the ground. Damn it! She thought. That hit must have torn it! Thinking fast Amara set her staff in front of her horizontally and thought the short chain of command to activate it.

Little specks of gold flickered around the free falling women before multiplying rapidly and surrounding her in a transparent ball of golden light. Borg it was called, a magical shield. It didn't take hardly any magoi to cast at all but she put in extra to further strengthen it as it was her only protection from a bone shattering death. Amara continued to tree fall, she could not really aim where to land and it was looking as if she was going to hit open ground. Though cover was not far off in the form of forestation. Bracing herself Amara continued to plummet the ground zooming closer. Her knuckles white as she clenched her staff out in front of her. Within seconds she crashed heavily into the ground, a thundering boom sounding. Right after she hit the ground the borg shattered around her and Amara rolled with the impact, feeling the heavy hit travel through her body. It rattled some teeth but she came out unscathed, though just a bit rattled.

Being out in the open and off ones feet could spell death, quickly she leaped to her feet but stayed low as she rushed for the nearest coverage of the trees. There she was able to catch her breath and radio in.

" Amara here, I have landed safely. If any if seriously hurt please try to bear with it and I shall try to get to your location as soon as I can. "

A serious injury out here could spell disaster for one of her team mates. While she knew her team members were tough a crash landing like that could hurt even the most seasoned of the BROOTHERHOOD. Ceasing communication for the time being Amara carefully peeked from behind one of the trees. Her violet eyes stretched wide as she spotted some...creatures inspecting the place where she crashed. What...what are those?! It was never easy seeing what CHAOTIC did to creatures and how they changed, but this was horrid. They vaguely resembled a human form but there it ended as the skin was scaled and the face almost featureless. One of the things raised it's head and gave a high pitched click and turned its head in her direction. She was spotted.

That song in my head...can you hear it too? [Current Theme: CHAOTIC: Parasitic Evil]
My power comes from the machines that I create, nothing else... [Technical Specialist]
My weapons are love, justice, and twenty-four tons of heavy weaponry! [Weapon: Modified KA-BAR, Modified Ruger LC380]
As long as I can keep fighting, I'll do it... [Condition: Moderate to Severe damage, Non-Fatal]

Gear was one of the last people out after their illustrious leader decided to blow a hole in her ship. She didn't have time to explain how pissed off she was, so she shot him the middle finger with her right hand, which she had only just recently repaired. her jump was fine, but her landing was crap given that she had to search for her things before she left. She picked up her tools, grabbed a couple weapons, and said goodbye to her child before heading off and on to the ground. She probably took one of the worst falls, damaging both the structural integrity of her mechanical parts, and just damaging her actual body. She didn't feel the pain of it anymore, but she was on the verge of breaking very important things...and if she didn't take care of the bleeding, she was going to die on that island. She was barely able to press her fingers to her earpiece, and since her hand kept falling from it, her message was garbled, but it was kind of easy to understand knowing it was Gear. "Definitely...not...okay..." Gear managed, working her way to her feet despite her injures and leaning up next to a tree. Those damn trees. Combined with the speed of her fall, they tore her apart. "And captain? Screw you sideways..."

Amara landed just a bit further away than Gear did, so despite it all, Gear forced her body to move in that direction. She couldn't do anything for Gear's artificial parts, but she could probably do something about the organic parts. Amara had said she'd find them if they were injured, but Gear didn't have the kind of patience. In tracking Amara, she didn't know that she was running right behind a CHAOTIC scout. Those things that had taken everything from her, and the people on her team. The moment she saw it, she ducked back and held her breath, but it wasn't interested in her. Instead, it saw Amara first, causing Gear to shake her head from her position. Gear took a deep breath to brace for the pain as she pushed her body and mechanical parts in to a sprint before leaping on to the disgusting creature's back. Vaguely human wasn't human enough in Gear's book, so she was fine dispatching it. Gear was no assassin...heck, Gear wasn't even a fighter. In that way, her fighting style was very rough and rugged, as if she'd learned it on the streets of where she was from.

She aimed to stab through her foe's throat, but she was a little bit off. Either way, she was hurting it now, so she unwrapped her arms from around it and kicked off of its spine with a smug look on her bloodied face. "Nice try..." Gear remarked mockingly at the creature who had seen Amara. Gear made sure when it turned to her it saw and remembered her face. To anybody else, it was undoubtedly Gear based off her bad attitude and pink sweater...a familiar combination to be sure after a year. She either didn't hit deep enough, however, or the beast was simply not phased given that it threw her knife but at her. She caught it, but it pierced right through her forearm on her right side, giving her cause to sigh. Nothing could ever be easy when it was organic. Even then, Gear seemed to adapt quickly given that she had far more field experience and training than most of her younger team, both in her chosen field, powers, and just the sheer amount of years she put forth. The being tried its hardest, but that was far from enough to even scratch Gear.

It brought its blade up to her, but her right leg mostly functioned. She kicked it at the wrist before it came close to damaging any other part of her body and sent the CHAOTIC reeling with the force behind the strike. The faceless being stared back at her only to find the same foot flying across its face and knocking it over. Having knocked it down, she could retrieve her knife safely. She was sore, though. These things were resilient if trading blows with them like that wasn't enough. She didn't want to make noise unless she absolutely had to since she would put Amara in danger, so she cut the beast's throat and removed its head, raising it high to take a good look at it before tossing it to the side. She looked at Amara and rolled her shoulders, looking much worse since she was moving around with injuries from her crash landing, and even fighting with them. If it were up to Gear, she would've died a long time ago. "Good to see our number one princess alive and well. That...thing didn't get to you before I did, yeah?" Gear was starting to look wobbly, and she'd already bled all over the place. She didn't feel like she was going to die, but boy...was she exhausted. Today was not her day.

Hearing that the island was indeed populated with...well, something, only sent Noriko's mood further down the drain. In her current condition, running into trouble could spell the end for her. An injury, and being ill equipped for combat meant that if she was challenged to a fight, she'd most likely lose. Unless she got the drop on them first. But on an unfamiliar island, and without a plan, that was unlikely.

"Could you perhaps be a bit more specific on what it is we're dealing with, captain?" It was quite a struggle to keep the irritation from her voice as she pressed a finger to her earpiece again. How she handled this situation depended entirely on her foes. Did the captain mean Chaotic? Or just the local wildlife? Or maybe just some unfriendly folk who happened to own the island? People, she could easily hide from. But animals, with their heightened hearing and smell...If she ran into one, the chances of her getting away were slim.

Noriko didn't like feeling so helpless. She didn't want to rely on her teammates too much either, but right now she needed to regroup with someone. She followed the sound of gunfire, hoping that it was Al dealing with this mystery guest of theirs, and not one of the enemies taking down one of her comrades.

Still clutching her side, she maneuvered through the forest, taking care to not step on any twigs or dried leaves. Noriko kept as close to the shadows of the trees as possible, and struggled to keep her breathing quiet and even, as the pain in her side was trying to drive her to rasping, ragged breaths.

This whole situation was annoying. As if their earlier failure hadn't been enough, now they had been shot right out of the damn sky because they hadn't been competent enough to figure out they had been followed. They were stuck on an island for who knows how long--an island that was apparently already inhabited by something unfriendly.

Worst of all, she had once again lost her paper crane collection. She had to start again. Was some higher power at work here? Had she done something to deserve this? All she wanted was to fold a bunch of silly paper birds, why couldn't she just do that?

A scowl had worked its way onto her face, because now she was furious. Of all the things that had happened today, the loss of her cranes is what hurt the most.

Noriko came to a sudden stop, sensing the presence of another being. Her movements slowed further, and she ducked into a crouch, approaching the figure with caution. The hand not pressed to her side was gripping the hilt of her knife, poised and ready to strike. If she caught them off guard, she had more than a fighting chance. Stealth was her specialty, after all.

But once she was close enough to see their face, all the tension in her body rapidly left. It was only Ryo. She straightened up, and walked towards him with confidence. "Ryo," Noriko calmly announced her presence with her teammate's name. She closed the distance between them only after that, for she didn't want to startle him while she was close enough to be hit.

Before addressing him further, she turned her head to the side and used the earpiece to communicate with the captain again. "I've regrouped with Ryo. If that gunshot I heard earlier was from you, captain, then we can head in that direction,"

She let her hand fall back to her side, keeping pressure on the injury she had sustained from her fall from the ship. "Are you hurt?" She asked Ryo, more out of formality than any real concern for the man. "I heard a gunshot earlier, from that direction," Noriko pointed with her knife. "I'm not sure if it was the captain, or an enemy, but I think we should head for it either way,"

Normally Noriko wasn't quite so talkative, but she liked to have a plan, and she didn't exactly want to stand around out in the open either. As she moved forward to continue walking again, she winced, and pressed her hand harder against her ribs, as if that would somehow help her. They needed to regroup as soon as possible. She assumed some of the others had rough landings as well, and if the enemy found them all in this condition, injured and disoriented, things would go badly for them very, very quickly.
