Nathaniel Zathrien Mandrake

Nathaniel heard the light clack of heel against hardwood approaching behind him only half-turning his head to give her presence a nod of acknowledgement as he walked over to the dart board and wrenched his dart free. He walked back to his original position but faced Cassandra instead; he hadn't laughed like she did when she'd called his aim rusty instead his eye flicking over her for a second or two before raising up to meet gazes "Haven't had enough to drink tonight" he replied nonchalant. Nathaniel flagged over a waitress as well swapping a bill for two shots off her tray; he was going to have trouble standing in the morning let alone typing out that bloody report on the minotaur incident of earlier that night, the hangover was going to kill him and if it didn't Azariah likely might. He downed each shot in rapid succession shaking his head a little after the second one tussling his bangs before he went back to facing the dart board lining up the shot bringing the end of the dart up to his eye, when Cassandra spoke again he kept the dart raised but turned his head to reply " It was nothing we couldn't handle. Thing looked like a matador just took a hot iron to it's rear. it got Kent too, He's in local E.R. for the night. Concussed. Your night been entertaining enough?" he asked in response gesturing with his brow to the slumped and muttering men over by the pool table. Nathaniel flashed a brief and wry smile her way before turning his attention back to the dart board once again " Also I trust you didn't take too much of his money" Nathaniel added in with a light chuckle tossing the dart in his hand hearing the pleasant whistle as it sliced through the air striking to the left of the bullseye. Nathaniel cursed went back and grabbed the dart again sighing as he took position one last time turning to Cassandra and smiling "Tell you what, I need to make this interesting. It's boring with no challenge." Nathaniel flagged down the waitress again this time taking a glass of rum and coke as well as three more darts already feeling the effects of the alcohol take their toll on his balance a little; he shrugged his shoulders loosening up with the rush of blood-flow closing his eyes as he did so. Nathaniel re-opened them and turned back to Cassandra "How about I make five bulls-eye's, and we drink all night. Lord knows I need it, I miss once and you make all five. Well...I'll leave your prize to your choice." Nathaniel then turned and proceeded to begin whipping the darts at the board in rapid succession awaiting only for someone to remove the last that had struck before hurling again. The sharp whistling didn't seem to cease.

Azariah shifted within the shadowy confines of his makeshift hiding spot when he heard a rustling outside, he poked his nose out of the box and turned his head to see a human ruffling through the garbage bin beside where he was currently hiding. Azariah resisted the urge to snort outright disgusted that the human was eating trash, then again he was disgusted that any creature would stoop so low as to eat the trash of another being. But he also recognized some creatures rarely had other choice, it disgusted him and he'd frankly rather die before he went that low yet he bore no ill will towards those who had become accustomed to the option. Azariah would prefer to stick to his fresh meat, clean off the bone like he'd hunted himself, which made his mind wander as he had not had to hunt for quite sometime. He missed the rush that accompanied it; before the final strike which put his prey to it's knee's and at the mercy of his talons. Those were days long past, now he was watching over a line of drunken fire-tongue wizards whom he owed a long debt, he sighed resting his head down on his arms 'I wonder what Nathaniel's up to...He's been in the bar for quite sometime... Then again he could be in there until tomorrow afternoon. Bloody boy apparently seems immune to alcohol poisoning.' Azariah was pretty sure the boy was just trying to show up all the Americans.

T H E X K I N G X O F X N E W X Y O R K

Leo never lost his smile. Even after the vampire took the CD quicker then the human (but not the cybernetic) eye could see. He enjoyed outwitting people, it was truly entertaining... Though it seemed that the woman, Tatiana, didn't realize just how foolish the "threat" of not delivering the message was. "I do like the idea of being compared to a bond villain. Everyone watches those movies for the villains anyways, to see their crazy plans... Unfortunately, I don't have a secret moonbase... Yet. I wonder if Vampire's would be able to walk on a moon base? Technically they're seeing the sun, but they're surrounded by the darkness of space... Hmmm... Curious things to think about." He kept his mind from drifting off to plans for a moon base, he would have to get to that after things started to calm down on earth.

"But the problem is... I'm not the villain of this story. I might be a mastermind, yes. But at worst I think I still come out in credit." His tone was light, but it didn't sound like he was joking. From the way he spoke, it was clear that he honestly did see himself as a hero rather than some kind of villain. "But, I suppose you want me to explain to you why you need that disk?" He ran a hand through his hair, the answer was obvious to him, it should have been the same for her. "The fact is, that CD is the only evidence you have of our existence. You have nothing else to go on, by the time you leave that warehouse will be up in flames, and all the traces of my people being there with it. That disk can only be played once, so you can't hand it to the Night Guard, then give it to the police in hopes of getting me arrested."

Leonardo moved from the desk, stretched, then walked to the large glass window, looking down on the bright lights of the city below him. He was bluffing about the disk 'only being playable once' but she didn't need to know that. He gave a pretty decent reason for him making it only playable once as well, so she can't say he'd have no reason to either. "So you have a disk that can only be played once, and it serves as the only evidence of our existence. Let's go over what happens if you destroy it, shall we? You go to your leader, claiming that the Illuminati has returned to the world. He asks you for proof... All you have is your word. You claim I gave you a disk, but you destroyed it so you can't show it to him. You claim that we destroyed a warehouse full of demons... But it was burned to the ground, without a trace of us being there. It's not like you can just point to our 'attacks' as proof, we have time on our side, we can return again ten years from now, long after everyone's dismissed you..."

Leonardo never looked at them, instead opting to stare down at the city for a while longer. "In the end, regardless of if that CD is just me gloating or taunting your or not. It's the only way to actually prepare your organization for war. All you accomplish by destroying it is leaving your organization unprepared for us. If we find out that you didn't do anything to speak to your leader about us, then we can attack within the day and nearly wipe you out in the process." He turned his head to the left, and looked at them out of the corner of his cybernetic eye. "I wonder how your friends would react. Knowing that you lead to so much death, you could have warned them, but instead you decided not to deliver a message." He was still slightly annoyed with the way she casually referred to him as "the villain" of their little story.

"You say we kill because we can think of nothing else. Well what can you say about your own organization, hmm? You'd rather act as 'cops' then end the issue of the beasts once and for all. Look to your own partner, he needs to devour human blood to survive, his very nature requires him to be an enemy of humanity. Is it so wrong that we try to make Humans as strong as these creatures that try so hard to destroy us? To make humans faster, smarter, stronger, all so we can survive peacefully?" He turned to look at them, his eyebrows furrowed in stress. "We care about Humanity, we try to change things. We try to make humans strong, but you... Every time an innocent person has been ripped to shreds by a magical creature that sees humans as mere objects it's on your head. You'd rather let the crime continue for ages then 'break the status quo'. If there are any villains, Miss Tatiana, it's the Night Guard."

Despite all he said, despite how he spoke to them... His voice still sounded like a classical hero admonishing some sort of evil villain. He believed in his cause, and he tried to present it in as 'heroic' a manner as possible.

“Poor Kent,” Cassandra said lifting her high ball glass towards her lips once more as Nathaniel spoke. Pausing for a moment Cassandra smiled softly when the red haired male brought up her night “Oh you know same old same old, breaking hearts where ever I go” she teased as she drank down the last of her drink before she ordered herself an actual beer. Cassandra was the type of girl who had a high alcohol tolerance who liked to start her night off slow, a girlie drink or two before she hit the hard stuff. “Besides it was just a frat boy who thought he could win me at a game of pool and who am I to deny him the opportunity if he willingly placed a hundred dollars on the table for my number?” she added cracking the bottle top with ease. Lifting the bottle to her lips, Cassandra took a long drink before she lowered the bottle. 'That hit the spot,' she thought silently to herself as she set the bottle down on the empty table next to them.

Listening to Nathaniel's proposition the young woman placed her hand on her hip as she leaned to the left a bit. “Something tells me I might end up losing...but I'm not one for passing up on a bet so you got yourself a deal.” Cassandra said scooping up her drink once more as she chugged the bottle just before Nathaniel shot the darts at the board. Seeing he made all five in the bulls eye Cassandra ran her fingers through her long blonde hair lightly as she walked towards the board to retrieve the darts.

With darts in hand the young woman positioned herself in the same spot Nathaniel once stood. Taking one dart up in between her index finger and thumb Cassandra tilted her head to the side lightly hearing a crack. Bringing her hand back slowly the young woman was focused a bit. After a brief moment she finally released the dart as she brought her hand forwards. In an instant Cassandra fired one dart after the other as each hit the dart board.

Back at head quarters, Alexander laid on his large fluffy pillow. Watching the door he began to grow worried for his mistress who had been gone for more then an hour. Standing the were wolf shook his fur as he made his way towards the open door of Cassandra's bedroom. Exiting into the hallway, the familiar made his way towards the metal elevator where he pushed the button with his forehead. Watching the double doors open, Alexander entered and soon enough he was on the top ground level. Sniffing the air Alexander caught onto Cassandra's scent. Following it to the local bar the familiar stealthy made his way through the back alleys where he came across Azariah scent. Seeing the homeless person digging in the garbage, Alexander growled from the shadows. His growl however resembled that of a stray dog claiming his territory. Seeing the human run in fear, Alexander took a few steps forwards “Good evening Azariah, it seems both our masters decided to cause trouble in the same place tonight.” the were wolf said staying hidden in the shadows of the ally way. The were always hated the thought of Cassandra being wrapped up in places like this but he knew there was no stopping her.

Katalyn Selene Stark

Katalyn instantly disliked the pair. A raised eyebrow and a venomous look to her gaze marred her blank expression. No doubt they had been vigorously trained and well suited for their job, but Katalyn hated the eagerness in their attitude, their textbook stances. Her accelerated hearing heard the click and whir of Tatiana’s recorder but Katalyn let it slide. Leonardo wanted to be heard, and the more evidence of his announcement the better. If there was one rule Katalyn followed it was justice. She wouldn’t participate in a dirty fight; she wanted the enemy to know she was coming. It made succeeding all the sweeter.

The vampire’s humor fell on sour ears; Katalyn was not amused. In fact bored would be a preferable word. Sliding ever so gracefully from the couch, Katalyn silently to encompass the other side of the room. She liked her change in perspective; it soothed the aggravation their presence brought into the office.

Leonardo gingerly took the compact disk off his desk and seemed to study the two. Ah, yes the exchange always the most delicate of situations when dealing with negotiations. Katalyn leaned her hip against the couch, her hands slipping into her back pocket casually. Michael was the real threat to Katalyn, for she could not get an acute judgment from his appearance. Vampires were a tricky guess when it came to their abilities. But the girl, Katalyn figured she’d be a tough fight but nothing she couldn’t handle. Probably enhanced just as she was herself, without a gun but most likely a hidden knife of some type; Tatiana was clearly all about her offense.

The gun clicked and Katalyn was suddenly beside the young woman. Her glock was aimed with one hand but never faltered in its position. Her stance was rock solid her eyes focused and unblinking. If asked to fire it would be an instantaneous reaction of muscle. Leo was speaking but Katalyn’s mind was looking for was her orders. The rest was white noise.

When the exchange was completed, Katalyn’s gun was out of sight once again. Her jaw was tense, her muscles firing and relaxing as she calmed her trigger finger. ’This girl needs to hold her tongue, so naïve.’ Although Katalyn was mute in expression, she was boiling on the inside. How could an elite force let someone as young and foolish as this girl into the field? She was judging a book by it’s cover but not in the way one would think. Katalyn was against the taking of lives, especially ones that fought for a similar cause. The Illuminati was just the more right cause.

She had returned to her perch, leaning against the couch as Leonardo had just fired up his speech. Pursing her lips, she listened as he scolded the young woman and her familiar. The annoyance he felt had finally slipped into his words. Katalyn pondered on the word villain as well, and it burned deeply beneath her cold façade. If they are the villain then what is The Night Guard? A saint? No, both sides have made horrible choices, done terrible things. Just because you think your cause is better does not make you immune to the horrors you have to commit. Calling Katalyn, a killer is correct but saying that it is all she knows is an injustice to her character. She really hoped she could be the better person the next time she meets this girl in battle otherwise, she might just prove them on their point.

This conversation made Katalyn shift into uncomfortable areas, her purpose for being in this very room and the drive that motivated her to become the machine she had created. Nausea slipped into her stomach and suddenly fighting sounded exhausting. Katalyn was not here for organizational pride, she was not here to represent a belief; she was here to seek her justice, the justice she would not have achieved through normal means. Her life was one of penance, and she felt she owed it to her parents. Yes, Katalyn could have moved on and accepted but she didn’t deserve to have the luxuries her life could provide her. She deserved this life, this mission and each one that was handed to her.

”A little ostentatious for you to come here under hospitable circumstances, and tell us who you think we are, what we believe in. When all were doing is preparing you, aiding you. We in turn know nothing of you, and have made no assumptions that wound your integrity. I think it’s time you start showing the respect to Leonardo that he has given to you from the beginning.” Katalyn’s voice is soft and elegant; her years of social and scholarly training shining through. Her arms poised at her side, and her shoulders framed, she pulled away from the couch’s support. Spoken out of turn or not, the small words at least distracted her from her aggravation, and the small ache in the back of her mind. This was exactly why she didn’t stick around for the aftermath. It was hit it and quit it, kill and move onto the next mission. All this organizational crap muddled her exasperated emotions.

|OOC:// Here is Katalyn's profile btw. :] \|

Nathaniel smiled as he hear the steady thunks of the darts impacting against their board his smile only widening in it's intensity when he happened to see five bulls-eye's in a row each one having smacked perfectly into the same hole as the first dead in the center of the bulls-eye. Nathaniel stepped back and took a seat in the empty booth and table not two feet away kicking up one foot to rest atop the knee of his other leg in a perfectly relaxed and casual manner; he hid his surprise rather well when Cassandra began to tease him while finishing off her drink a curious brow arching, he was by all means at least according to what he'd heard from his keepers one of the easy-going heads of the orders compared to say Tatiana of the hidden watchers. But of course that comparison only went so far, like when he was off-duty or at least not overseeing their training, some of the younger recruits were apparently more afraid of his training regimes than they were of his familiar who had upon occasion hastened them in their laps by trying to make the slowest brunch. While unorthodox Nathaniel did admit his tactics were they in the end inevitably helped his peacekeepers come together to be quite the force to be reckoned with, it was a decent comparison to liken them as being the 'Hammer' of the night guard since Nathaniel trained his peacekeepers much akin to the way he trained himself. So far he'd never heard any complaints, whether that was because they simply didn't exist in his presence or whether or not they simply didn't exist he didn't care. They got the job done.

Nathaniel smiled seeing the empty bottle of beer having heard her chug it back, he leaned back into his seat lifting his arms and stretching them out to either side of himself in the comfy cushion of the booth letting his head lull back. His head was still pleasantly swimming in the effects of the alcohol running through his system enjoying the numbing effects as they spread through his bloodstream to the rest of his body and not just his head. He watched as Cassandra positioned herself in the same spot as he and began to throw her darts as well observing silently with particular interest; he wouldn't admit it but he'd probably not last standing and drinking much longer hence why he was currently seated. Nathaniel could drink until the bar closed and then until it re-opened so long as he was seated and didn't have to rely too heavily on his motor functions; his eyes however remained sharp and he caught the sight of five exact bulls-eyes from Cassandra hitting specifically where his dart landed each time His grin cracking forth from his smile "Well looks like we both win" Nathaniel said chuckling lightly as he looked over towards where he'd left Roberto and his familiar over at the bar signalling for them to joint the two of them with a wave of his hand before turning back to Cassandra "So I'm going to begin my drinking again. Just tell me when you'd like your prize; I'd prefer not to know until then. Don't feel like ruining a good surprise" he chuckled and teased right back.

Azariah caught onto a familiar scent nearby and his nose poked out from the box yet again his yellow eye's glinting out from the shadows with the little light that shone against them. Azariah watched the homeless human run off easily frightened by the display of the werewolf whom Azariah recognized as Alexander, one of Nathaniel's specialist's familiars if he happened to recall correctly though frankly Azariah himself hadn't spent anytime socializing with the being before let alone any other familiar during his time in New York with Nathaniel but then again since both their companions seemed intent on causing mayhem in the same area it wouldn't hurt. It definitely beat sleeping under a box until Nathaniel was sober enough to walk back to base "Alexander, yes it is a fine evening. I figured that as well, by the way please do pass on to Cassandra that her perfume is way too strong. I smelled it over the homeless man whom you just scared off. Thanks for that by the way. His sloppy eating from the bins was quite...irritating. Almost as much as speaking in this....English as the humans call it. Ity offends both my tongue and my ears."

Watching as the darts hit home in the center bulls eye, Cassandra turned to face Nathaniel who was now sitting in a near by booth. “I'll just pocket that prize for a rainy day,” she said winking playfully as she walked towards the booth. “Well if your going to start drinking again I'll join you for another beer or two, one of us has to stay as close to sober as possible if anything interesting comes along.” she said referring to another supernatural outbreak that could break out. Turning her head Cassandra made her way over to the bar when she saw no waitress in sight. Ordering a few beers the blonde's ears perked up softly when she heard a few steps approaching her from behind. Feeling a pair of cold hands wrap around her waist and rest against her exposed stomach the blonde stood perfectly still as the now drunk green eyed frat boy from earlier pulled her against him.“Co...come on sweetie let's get to know each other a little more.” he said slurring his words into Cassandra's ear. When the bartender set the bottles down on the counter top he looked from Cassandra to the drunk frat boy.

Seeing the bartender was about to speech Cassandra beat him to the punch “Like I said sweetie,” the blonde said as she pulled herself away from the drunk man. “you couldn't handle what I have to offer” she added turning and 'lightly' kneeing the man in the abdomen. Turning back to the bartender Cassandra watched as he shook his head laughingly as he turned to help another customer. Taking the bottles in her hands the young woman looked over at the frat boys buddy “Clean your friend up off the floor before he makes a mess of things.” Cassandra said stepping over the fallen drunk.

Returning to the booth the blonde haired woman set the bottle down before Nathaniel. Lifting her own towards her lips Cassandra let out a soft sigh as she crossed one leg over the other under the table. Seeing the state the red headed male was in made Cassandra shake her head softly “It amazes me that you don't have alcohol poisoning yet.” she joked as she took another sip of her drink. Setting the bottle down on table Cassandra looked towards the bar where the college boys headed towards the door. Looking back at Nathaniel Cassandra took another small sip of her drink as a smile crossed her face. “I cant wait to see the state you'll be in tomorrow, now that will be a real treat.”

Alexander watched the other familiar as he spoke of Cassandra's perfume. Nodding in agreement the Werewolf looked towards the back door of the bar. “I agree even her lighter perfume is just as strong...but the males of this world seem to enjoy the fragrance.” Alexander said in a disappointed fatherly tone of voice as his gaze turned from door to the other familiar. “So how long have you been waiting back here?” the Were wolf asked Azariah as two men walking past the mouth of the ally way caught his attention. “That b***h, who does she think she is?” one male said as he was hanging onto his friend. “Let it go man,” the other spoke as they walked off. Catching a small whiff of Cassandra's scent on one of the males made Alexander growl softly in the back of his throat. “Filthy humans,” he said softly as he looked back towards Nathaniel’s familiar.

Nathaniel couldn't help but crack a grin as she claimed she'd pocket her prize for a rainy day and winked at him; he lulled his head back and put a hand to his chest mocking a gunshot as best he could before laughing. He allowed his eyes for a few moments to follow Cassandra's form away from the booth he was at smiling at the view that was presented much in the dopey fashion one would expect to see from some young schoolboy. Nathaniel was literally too drunk to care, and was actually glad for the company to go with his drinking his head slowly rolling towards the bar when he heard large thunking footsteps following behind Cassandra's soft clicks of her heels against the hardwood. His ears suddenly perked and his eyes narrowed down in that direction seeing a familiar burly young mass of squared shoulder making it's way through the crowd following Cassandra very closely and Nathaniel's eyes followed him ; Not that Nathaniel didn't think that Cassandra couldn't handle herself. Rather quite the contrary as he'd seen her hit an ace from a quarter mile with an iron-sighted rifle he'd only heard about having existed back in world war two, it began with the word Mosin and in his drunken state likely wouldn't be able to remember the other word until after his hangover had done it's toll. Frankly Nathaniel had no worries about any of his peacekeepers being able to handle themselves while out on their own time; his assumption was proven correct however when his ears followed the sounds of a 'light' impact likely with someones abdomen from the sound of the collision and his eyes were greeted by the sight of the drunken frat boy whom Cassandra rejected earlier dropping first to his knees then flopping over face first against the floor. Nathaniel tried hard not to laugh. He failed miserably even as she brought back their beers he was still recovering himself.

As she clinked down two beers on the table Nathaniel scooped up the one she'd placed in front of him popping the cap off it and taking a small swig of the drink before putting it down on the table again himself. Her next joke nearly made him snort his beer as he tried to prevent laughing instead swallowing before he leaned back and chuckled softly "On this American piss? No offense. But nah, maybe on some liquor from home..Or hell the Canadians make decent beer. And rye...dear god..Last time I drank rye I woke up making pancakes half-naked with police sirens wailing outside my house and my family hiding in the corner..That's when I realized..I don't have a family." Nathaniel laughed at himself setting the beer down once again when her last words caught his attention "If you'd like to really see, drop by my office. Most people treat my door like the cave to the dragon's lair...hmm...Maybe Azariah has something to do with that..."

Azariah simply sighed as Alexander began to point out that most human males seemed to enjoy the fragrance "How so eludes me, it makes me want to choke" Azariah replied slowly slinking out from underneath his box his eyes following the drunken pair of teenagers while his nose caught the same lingering odor that he'd just been discussing on one of them. Azariah came up beside Alexander with his claws slowly sliding forward to clink against the cold pavement of the ground "I've been here for about an hour, maybe two...Nathaniel doesn't seem to be taking light to the drinking these days. Just like his father" Azariah sighed and continued to follow the drunken frat boys with his gaze until they rounded a corner out of sight a large serrated grin forming under his curling lips as he looked to Alexander "The night is still young, I can't speak for Cassandra but Nathaniel will be in there for quite some time still. They are quite filthy and if I'm not mistaken I believe one of them just called your human a...derogatory term for a female of the canine breed. Shall we teach them better manners?"

Seeing Nathaniel had finally regained himself from the little show that had most people in the bar laughing, Cassandra lifted her drink towards her lips once more. “None taken my friend,” she laughed softly as she set her drink down on the table. When Nathaniel was enlightening the blonde on his experience with rye Cassandra couldn't help but laugh. “I'm sorry but that is just too damn funny.” she said shaking her head lightly. Brushing a few strands of hair from her face Cassandra glanced over at Nathaniel when he mentioned dropping by his office “Well who am I to decline such a tempting offer? I think I just might stop by after my morning run.” she spoke taking a medium long swig of her adult beverage. Just thinking about her morning free running routine reminded Cassandra that this was indeed her last drink for the night.

Lowering the long neck bottle of her drink Cassandra could feel an increasing light buzz coming on as she leaned her head back lightly against the padded booth. A soft laugh escaped her lips as the young woman tilted her head to the left a bit. “Spoiler alert,” she teased “I do like to make an entrance and with the state you'll be in I guess that would call for an extra special theatrical debut” she said winking playfully as she finished the rest of her drink. When the male brought up how others saw his office, Cassandra shook her head lightly “Hey be thankful you have a dragon lair office door that wards off intruders. At least you don't have shooting or video game challenges from the newbies coming at you left and right.” Cassandra joked as she ordered herself a glass of water and a basket of chicken tenders. The last part of her statement was true, if she could have one night to herself with out a random cocky newbie stepping up to take her “crown” by beating her high score in either activity Cassandra would be grateful for life...well the night at least. When her meal arrived, the young woman took a few tenders and placed them on a small round plate. “Help yourself.” she said offering some to Nathaniel as she lightly blew on the hot finger food before she took a bite.

Alexander glanced over at Azariah when he mentioned that one of them had spoke ill of his human. Seeing a taxi slowly drive by the mouth of the alley way, Alexander knew the men would soon be gone. “Years before I was captured and bonded with Cassandra I wouldn't think twice about ripping a human to shreds but with the positions we currently hold...” the werewolf paused disappointingly “I'll have to let it slide...again” he growled softly as his sharp claws dug into the pavement under his paws. No matter how he felt about the current situation, Alexander knew that it was strictly forbidden to expose their world and interact with humans other than their own. “Besides knowing Cassandra she is probably cutting herself off of drinks as we speak...maybe she will be able to convince your human to retire from drinking for the night.” but Alexander knew that last part might be almost impossible.

Nathaniel smiled as it seemed Cassandra seemed to enjoy his little encounter with rye, whether or not he was actually joking he'd likely never tell. He was reaching out for his drink, taking the bottle in the grasp of his palm by the neck to hold aloft in front of himself when Cassandra agreed to dropping by his office tomorrow morning after her run. His brow arched as he watched her take a rather long swig of her drink, and his smile curved wider when he saw her slowly let her head hit the padding of the booth as well only to continue going on teasing him only to shoot off another playful wink his way.Nathaniel shook his head looking up from underneath his bangs which fell down over his face "Cassandra, the state I'm currently in is what I call my...warm-up round." He chuckled softly raising his bottle to his lips and drinking from it slowly as she stated he should be thankful that he didn't have a swarm of people trying to get through his office door as if it actually 'warded' them away. When the waitress passed by and Cassandra ordered her chicken tenders with water Nathaniel ordered himself a pint of Murphy's laying one arm out comfortably on the table with his elbow propped at it's edge and his other arm extended out across the booth. He wondered why Roberto had yet to join them but failed to spot him nor his familiar nearby in the crowd; When Cassandra offered him some of her tenders he declined with a simple shake of his head "Nah, I'm quite fine thank you."

When Nathaniel touched his lips to the tall glass placed before him grasping it by the bottom and tipping it back slowly in sync with the tilt of his head; slowly and steadily he took the pint in one long single chug closing his eyes when the buzz hit him flopping back into his seat with a light thud. He took a deep breath and re-opened them with a few rapid blinks before he began to rotate his neck stretching it, he then leaned forward on the table propping himself up on his elbows pleasantly drunk.

Azariah un-flexed his arms and scaled paws which lifted his claws from the pavement leaving small scratches where they had been dragging along it's surface and then he sighed turning a shoulder and walking around Alexander sighing much like an aggravated old man "As you wish, Though I wouldn't have gone that far. He probably wouldn't taste too good, and frankly the alcohol doesn't improve the taste of the blood. Last Viking I had tasted like Norwegian lager as well as leather, was not the greatest culinary experience I assure you. They wouldn't have been worth that much effort" Azariah stated his tail slowly slicing through the hair behind him in it's almost ceaseless motion though hearing Alexander's final statement it made Azariah snort turning his head slowly and speaking in a somewhat hushed tone he turned to Alexander "There's only one way any human female has ever gotten Nathaniel to cease his drinking early Alexander. Trust me when I say, I believe you'd rather wait."

Cassandra laughed softly when Nathaniel said that this was his “warm-up round”. “Call it what ever you want princess, you're still going to regret inviting me to your office tomorrow morning.” she joked as she ate a couple tenders. Drinking her water, Cassandra tilted her head to the side softly as she felt a light crack. Rolling her shoulders a bit the young woman knew she had to schedule a mandatory massage session for tomorrow. Once her chicken tenders and water were gone Cassandra stretched lightly as she pulled the hundred she won earlier in the night from her shirt. Handing it to the waitress the blonde told her to add the remainder to her tab to cover her and Nathaniel's drinks. “Well I'm going to be checking out now,” Cassandra said pushing her plate and empty glasses into the center of the table. “I am going to head back to base and since I am going to be leaving my bike here for the night I might just do a small routine check while I am at it.” she said standing “Don't want our superiors questioning my 'participation' in the club” she joked softly.

Of course Cassandra knew that her involvement would never go under question. She was more like back up when the job could not be completed properly. Sure she would be sent out every now and than for little jobs but she and her arsenal tangoed more with the dangerous visitors than the lower ones. “You're of course welcome to join me but I'm sure you have other plans” she added. Leaning forwards a bit, Cassandra placed one hand lightly on the table, adjusting one of her heels the young woman's hair swept itself to one side and revealed her bare shoulder that had a faint scar that ran along the top of her shoulder from when she was young. Placing her foot back on the floor Cassandra flicked her hair back in place as she looked down at Nathaniel. “Try not to rack up my open tab too much,” she joked with a small wave as she turned and walked towards the front door.

Seeing the bartender Cassandra gave him a small nod alerting him to her departure as she got closer to the exit. Watching him cross around the counter, Cassandra linked her arm with his. “Walk a girl out Chris?” she smiled as he opened the door for her. “Oh behave Cass. or I'll have to take your bike home...on second thought I might just sell it for an expensive anniversary gift for my boyfriend Eric." the male paused as he followed her out and looked around "Are you sure you don't want me to call you a cab?” the bartender spoke as Cassandra walked over to her bike to retrieve her thigh holster that contained her hidden gun and extra ammo. Cassandra was perfectly fine with walking home alone. Besides she knew she wouldn't be completely alone since she sensed Alexander had arrived and no doubt he was speaking with Nathaniel's familiar out back. “You know other girls wear these magical things called purses that they carry their makeup in.” Chis the homosexual bartender joked as Cassandra locked the compartment of her bike. “Yeah well I'm not like other girls,” Cassandra said as she placed her leg up on a stone bench outside the bar. Bending her leg a bit, the young woman leaned forwards as she buckled the strap under her left thigh. “Besides I'll leave the purse carrying for you my dear queen.” Cassandra joked as she tossed her keys up in the air for Chris to catch. “You Sassy little b***h,” the man laughed as he took her keys back inside the bar for safe keeping.

Placing her foot back down on the floor, Cassandra was about to walk off when Chris returned with her jacket. “Cover up before you catch something or someone.” the bartender laughed as he tossed the woman's jacket up in the air for her to catch with one hand.

Nathaniel's face at first seemed light and cheery as Cassandra first laughed then proceeded to call him a... "...Princess?" he questioned his face shrouded with confusion for a moment and his jaw began to drop. "Did you j-j-just really call me....Princess?" he asked a second time not waiting for an answer; After a moment Nathaniel let slip a thin smile his eyes narrowing and a brow arching slightly as he leaned forward across the table his Irish accent coming through smooth "I've been called a lotta of things, but that's a new one. I'll have to see what you come up with in me office 'morrow" Nathaniel winked slowly leaning back into the soft plushy cushion of his booth smiling lightly at Cassandra as she finished her water and proceeded to begin to leave. His eyes followed her hands as she took the hundred from her shirt both brows arching for a moment when she handed it to the waitress and told her to add his drinks to her tab once again nearly causing his jaw to drop to the table, even he knew that was a bad idea. She joked with him once more before she had leaned in close yet again, Nathaniel's gaze first went to her hand which she placed on the table to apparently lean closer before she flicking her hair back; Nathaniel suppressed a grin at that and then she turned to depart asking him not to rack up her tab.

Nathaniel sighed pushing himself forward and out of the booth turning to see the bartender exit the bar with a coat whom he knew it belonged to placing one hand on the side of the booth to steady himself from the effects of his drinking. He could have handled more but himself wasn't an advocate of drinking alone, besides he didn't want to cost Cassandra too much money otherwise he might have truly emptied the bar. Half-stumbling Nathaniel made his way out the bar and out onto the street to see Cassandra catching her jacket single-handedly his bright smile flashing up in the night as he walked up beside her his hands slowly slinking down into his pockets "I don't have any better plans, Shall we walk?" he asked gesturing forward with a hand which returned to it's pocket afterwards. Nathaniel then began to well attempt to walk forward yet much to his dismay the amount of alcohol he had consumed that night made such a simple task in his case...difficult. How he'd managed to get out the bar without a face-plant was a miracle to him which at the moment he was simply a little too grateful for to question so instead he tried to focus on straightening his vision. Rapid blinking helped. For a bit.

Though it strained his abilities in his attempt he managed to display a rather modest straight walk which might have displayed some sort of sobriety, until he tripped on an uneven sidewalk. His hands were too slow coming out of his pockets and his head whipped down impacting with the sidewalk pavement hard; The impact cracked the pavement and left a light bruise on his forehead which he unwittingly placed a palm too hissing afterwards as his hand shrunk away "That's not going to help the hangover."

Once she caught her jacket, Cassandra slipped her hands into the sleeves in one quick fluid motion. Seeing Nathaniel decided to join her, the blonde haired woman smiled. “are you sure your able to walk?” she asked watching him take a few steps before he planted his face in the sidewalk. Covering her mouth Cassandra tried her best not to laugh but a soft giggle escaped her lips. “Easy there cowboy,” she said helping the man to his feet. “alright, lets take it one step at a time”she added placing her left hand against the red haired males side to steady him out.

Once the two were on their way, Cassandra walked passed the alley that lead to the back of the bar. In the corner of her eye she caught a quick glimpse of their familiars conversing with one another. “Looks like our nannies are having a fun time,” she teased softly as the two walked on. Once a small distance was placed was placed between them and the bar, Cassandra couldn't help but pick up on an unusual sound along the eerie deserted street. “Did you hear that?” she asked softly as she came to a sudden stop. Closing her light blue eyes, the blonde listened in for the sound once more. Hearing what sounded like a high pitch death scream come from up a head of the two peace keepers, Cassandra gently placed the drunken Nathaniel against the brick wall of a building. Exhaling, Cassandra could see her breath which was a bit unusual for this time of night. Watching as the street lights began to flicker, the young woman reached into her side holster that was fastened around her thigh. “Great, we've got company.”the woman said as she drew her desert eagle and clip from the leather pouch with her left hand. Inserting the clip, Cassandra loaded a bullet into the chamber just as a black figure revealed itself. “You've got to be ******** kidding me,” the woman cursed as wraith appeared before them.

“I really hope you're not too drunk to tango Nathaniel,” she said aiming her gun up at the street light above the mythical being. Firing a bullet from her gun, Cassandra watched as the light exploded and sent sparks showering onto the shadow figure. Cassandra brought her right hand towards her lips and whistled for her familiar as the figure backed away from the sparks from the broken street light. Shaking its head, the Wraith quickly recovered from the blinding lights of the now broken street lamp. Looking at the blonde, the creature showed the two humans the long claws of its right hand as it hovered in mid air before them. Hearing the creature breath heavily, Cassandra knew it was readying itself for an attack as it looked back and forth between the two. And just as the blonde lifted her gun to fire, the creature made its move. Slashing through the air, the Wraith flung the young woman into the empty street as it went after the drunken male, see him as easy prey.

Just as Azariah said it was better that they waited for the male to leave, the Werewolf looked towards the mouth of the alleyway to see Cassandra and Nathaniel...together. Looking over at the other familiar, the Were gave him a look of great concern. Watching the two walk off towards the base, Alexander was off through the back alleyways in the direction he first came. It was when he heard Cassandra's whistle call for him that Alexander increased his speed. It of course didn't take long before the large wolf familiar arrived on the scene to see the Wrath slash and toss Cassandra like a rag doll into the empty street. Jumping through the air the familiar landed next to the fallen woman as she struggled a bit to stand. “I'm alright,” she assured the familiar who was now standing guard besides his mistress with his teeth bared as the figure drew closer to Nathaniel.

Pushing herself up onto her knees, Cassandra lifted her gun up and fired without aiming. Hearing the bullet slice through the air, the young woman watched as it hit the creature dead on in the shoulder which indeed royally pissed it off and got its attention.
