☣ Kyrie was amazed at how many people lived in this village. Then again, the rules on magic were kinda strict. It's no surprise that so many people would be ported here for outward use of thier powers. Honestly, it was a daily thing for her to wonder how she and Jasmine had gotten away with it for so long. Maybe it was because they were serving a public good with thier magic? Or maybe it's because they were both so good with tools and machines anyway, that thier "magic" was just seen as being uncannily good mechanics. either way, the population was staggering, that is until she saw the people on stage.
Seeing the platinum blonde bird demon, the tall horned man, and the similarly horned little girl, she realized that she had failed to factor in he possibility of people starting families here. Around her she had heard similar musings, such as questions of when the child was made, how she escaped the school, and even questions of what the meeting itself was about in the first place. As far as she knew, this was a town meeting and was about a school. Did something happen? She had thought for a moment she heard some talk about aprons but she ignored it, she didn't see how that was at all relevant.
Then the mayor began to speak. His first few words were somewhat slurred, making it seem to Kyrie that he had just gotten out of bed. After watching him almost lose his balance, and botch another word or two, along with the crude speech, she had pieced together that he was somewhat inebriated. What kind of mayor got drunk before addressing his people? She shook her head, humans were one thing she'd never understand, and thier fixation with alcohol was completely another. Ignoring this fact, she focused on what he was saying. So some evil force had come by and wrecked the place, including the school building. Given that he had to give condolences, she knew the best case scenario had NOT occurred. Some people, perhaps everyone present had lost a child or two, among many others probably lost in other destroyed areas. The thought was mortifying, but understandable. After all, port enough magic users to the same place and eventually you'll end up trapping an evil one.
Her face lit up at the though of rebuilding. She had so many ideas on how they could do that. she would like to think that was her specialty, or at least it was a field in which her years of study would come to fruition...hopefully. either way, she was going to make her teacher proud. It's the best she could do given that she had been an idiot and got herself exposed right? She figured any questions she had could wait for after the meeting when they would be talking about rebuilding. She'd also have to think up a way to get around his drunkenness. His friends might be able to help.
