The abrupt brush with the stranger brought Will’s attention back to the people immediately around him. The man grumbled an apology but made no attempt to make it seem sincere. Catching a glimpse of the man’s face, Will recognized him as Alistair Blood. While there were many faces on Terran Intelligence’s “list of people to watch out for on Kessel Station,” Alistair Blood’s stood out for several reasons. One of the most prominent was his last name was eerily appropriate given his violent tendencies. Thankfully, this was Will’s first encounter with the man, and he hoped that it would be the last; however, in this business, it was unlikely this would be the last he would see of Blood. Smuggling got competitive, and it would not surprise Will if he ended up in Blood’s crosshairs in order to eliminate some competition. For now though, he needed to focus on finding the girl, not a brush with a notorious smuggler.

Will continued to walk the streets of the entertainment district; unaware he had missed his target. The sprawling entertainment district was a lot of ground to cover, and with the throngs of people constantly looking for a diversion, finding this girl was like finding a needle in a haystack. Realizing he was never going to find the girl on his own, Will pulled out his datapad and took a seat on a nearby bench. With a few quick taps on the screen, an audio channel was established with his ship’s AI, Corsair. ”Ello, Cap’n. Refueling is complete, and Quincy is makin sure the booty is all set for our departure. The ship’ll be ready by the time you get back,” Corsair stated, a hint of pride in his gruff voice. The AI based his appearance and voice off a privateer from the days of colonialism on Earth, when ships still sailed on the ocean with wind sails. Will never knew why AI picked the forms they did, but it was irrelevant so long as Corsair got things done.

”I need your help finding our missing friend. I’d hate to lose her,” Will said has he surveyed the crowd, hoping to see her.

”Aye aye, Cap’n,” the AI responded. All was quiet on the channel for a few moments. Undoubtably, the AI was accessing the station’s security systems, searching for signs of the telepath’s whereabouts. Corsair was a Terran Intelligence AI, meaning he was an invaluable ally and terrifying enemy. Data mining, hacking, analysis, combat, ship control and management were all areas he could handle with ease. He could filter through massive amounts of data in seconds, which was likely what he was doing now. It was entirely probable the station’s security had no idea of the intrusion, nor would they ever know. Corsair had a knack for getting into systems without leaving a trace. The silence was broken when the AI’s voice came back on the channel. ”Found ‘er. She took a cab down to the docks. Head to Docking Bay C, and you should find the lass. No eyes on ‘er, but I ain’t seen ‘er leavin. Good luck, capn’n,” the AI said.

”Thanks. Be on standby in case we have to leave in a rush,” Will replied, closing the channel before the AI could respone with another “aye aye.” Will briskly walked towards the nearest taxi station. He was kicking himself for missing her, but he would be able to make up for it by getting her now. As he approached the station, he felt the ground shake. For a moment, he did not break stride until he realized everyone else had stopped, many looking panicked. Spending countless hours aboard space stations and ships had made Will used to such events, but this was Kessel Station. Kessel Station did not shake. Seeing an opportunity to avoid people’s attention, Will slipped through the confused and anxious crowd and slid into a taxi. The driver looked as concerned as the people at the taxi station, but quickly focused on his job as Will directed him to head to Docking Bay C, promising a good tip if he was fast.

The ride passed in relative quiet, the driver focusing on making the extra cash, and Will thinking on what could have caused the station to shake. An explosion? No, there would have been an announcement, right? If it was something major, Corsair would be in touch, he thought as he looked out the window. A tremor through the station was not a big deal to him. There were more important things for him to worry about at the time. As the taxi came to a not so gentle stop, Will checked the time. The driver had indeed made good time, so Will kept his promise and gave a generous tip to the driver as he paid the fare. He then quickly proceeded out of the cab and began his search for the girl.

After a few minutes of searching, Will caught sight of the girl, but she was not alone. A man stood with her, and by the way he was dressed, someone with a good bit of money. It could be her contact to get off the station, or maybe it was someone who was helping her from the inside. At any rate, this complicated Will’s plan to grab her and go without causing a scene. Will paused for a moment and formulated a plan before running up to the two. ”Daniella! Hey! Where have you been? I’ve looked all over for you,” he said as he stopped a couple of feet from the two, putting on his innocent and friendly persona. He then looked at the well-dressed man and said, ”Did you find her? She likes to go off places without telling anyone, so I’m glad she found someone who looks as respectable as you to help her out.” Turning back to Daniella, he reached out to grab her hand. ”Come on, we need to get going or we’ll be late.” During this intrusion, Will made his thoughts and intentions clear in his mind. He kept repeating the same thoughts over and over so the girl would know what she was dealing with.

If you want to be kept safe from GenEx, come with me. I’ll make sure you are not harmed. Do not resist coming, or I will kill this man.

Vice Admiral Kenneth 'Gallows' Halloran stood upon the command platform, practically towering over his subordinates. He watched as they fearfully toiled under his iron fist, pulling the ship out of FTL just on the verge of Kessel Station, signaling the rest of the battle group to do the same. While an officer of the Coalition Navy, Halloran was a man with more interests in power and in the contents of his bank account than he did freedom and liberty. He was firmly in the pocket of the corporate Dominion. Also, unfortunately for the faithful Coalition forces, he was one of the most ruthless, brilliant, and obsessed military commanders born to fight this war. He had never lost an engagement, and never left survivors. Vice Admiral Halloran was also very well known for his personal vendetta against piracy, as one of the few Dominion puppets that wanted them wiped out, seeing them as a thorn in the side of the rulers of the system. He earned the nickname Gallows by being extremely fond of the old world punishment for piracy; hanging. An old method, but very popular with this particular commander, as he liked to watch those unlucky few whose necks didn't snap from the drop squirm and suffocate until the light finally left their sorry eyes.

An assault on Kessel Station was an extremely unorthodox tactic, and especially since it was made clear to the Admiral that he wasn't to destroy the station. His Dominion masters sent him to siege the station itself, cut off all traffic in and out, slaughter all those not directly affiliated with the Dominion, even Coalition soldiers, citizens, and such that dwell there. There were only a few real targets that he was to acquire, and all of them were to be alive; Daniella Pearson, property of GenEx, a genetic experiment, and budding telepath. Alister Blood, one of the most infamous pirates in the system, and previously stationed upon the Justice, under the command of Vice Admiral Halloran, before the court martial, and before the Vice Admiral saw to it that his entire crew was replaced with Dominion loyal soldiers. And finally, a man known only by the name 'Zeus'. The leaders of the Children of Olympus were rumored to be immortal, and able to harness mighty power, and such are named after the Gods of old, as living embodiment of their faith. It was once said that the Gods walked among the people, in those ancient days, and so it was again. Zeus was the overall leader of the Children of Olympus, and was a very valuable target. His presence on the station was not well advertised, but he was apparently attending on important business. All those loyal to the Dominion had made themselves absent, or at least, the important ones, leaving behind worthless attendants, and most of their Kessel Station based work force. Only the wealthiest and most powerful knew of the attack beforehand.

“Vice Admiral, sir. All ships of the battle group have reported in. We have taken position just outside the station’s sensors. The evacuation order for important Dominion personnel went out a few hours ago, and I’ve seen to it that they’re off the station. Our informants on station confirm that two out of the three targets are present upon the station. Daniella Pearson, GenEx’s little freak project, should be easy enough to apprehend...but we’ve been on Blood’s trail since his escape and defection. Are you sure an attack on this scale is not ill advised, just for a girl, a pirate, and perhaps one of the Olympian leaders, who is not even confirmed to be present?”

Admiral Halloran turned to face the young officer, and the mere fact of being under his gaze brought fear, and apprehension. Those who questioned Halloran didn’t often make it long, but it seemed the Admiral was in a better mood than usual, as he merely chuckled, and adjusted his collar. “Lieutenant. The girl is one of the most valuable beings in the system. She is an experimental telepath. Highly unstable, most likely, and not strong as of yet...but with her, GenEx may unlock the unlimited potential of the human brain. Imagine if we had such power in our ranks...we could weed out traitors, insurrections could be halted with a mere scan of thoughts...and such power could be molded into a weapon. We could win battles without even entering the field...only ravaging minds of our foes. As for Blood, he is a traitor, and a terrorist, and has plagued the Dominion for far too long. It will be my personal satisfaction to string him up on Earth, for all to see. He was served on this ship, masquerading as a faithful soldier. He made his true intentions clear.” The Admiral turned to the console next to him, clenching his jaw at the thought of Alister Blood. “Every time he has evaded us, it has been a combination of luck, and a sheer unwillingness to follow by those my lesser. And the Olympian leader, the one they call Zeus...he is the King, sitting upon his cloud-laden throne, thunder bolts in hand. It is time to topple the King from the throne, and bring an end to this war. As Zeus once destroyed his father, Cronos, so shall we destroy Zeus, and establish our rule once and for all.”

The frightened young lieutenant saluted the Admiral, managing to mumble out, “Right away, sir,” and rushed back to his station. The Admiral looked back down among his soldiers, and smiled. Everything was falling into place. “Fire at will.” He uttered. The gunnery officer and his subordinates ran the ship’s weapons through the proper calculations, giving the exact firing solution to target the guns, and the ship didn’t even feel it as the enormous cannon of the Justice fired, striking the station. The entire structure trembled from the impact, but it was not meant for the station’s destruction. The shot had been fired at the primary shield generator. The guns on the Justice were of a new breed, highly experimental, and the kinks were still being worked out. They took some time to recharge, but the Admiral was not worried. The weakening of the shield generator meant that all shielding was diverted to living areas, and to the docking bays, so that the emergency doors would not be activated. “Sir, infiltration teams signal they are attached to the station’s hull in several sections.” The Admiral waved his hand, his voice full of gusto, “Tell them to proceed.”

Hundreds of large pods full of troops had glided through space, directed only by a set of thrusters for precise impact. Each pilot guided their pod of several dozen soldiers onto their directed section of the station, and attached to the hull using a high powered set of magnetic docking clamps. The pods clinged to the skin of the station like ticks to a dog’s flesh. They awaited the signal, the soldiers getting impatient. They were bloodthirsty, and an opportunity like this didn’t happen very often. They were going to slaughter pirates, Olympians, and anyone else who got in their way. Their orders were pretty clear; slaughter whoever you had to, to capture the targets alive. A single light blinked on the console, the pilot awaiting that single moment. Radio silence was initiated, and it was go time. The metal of the hull was superheated as a team on each pod sliced through the metal with plasma torches, a perfect atmospheric seal formed between the pods and the ship to ensure no bursting off into space. In moments, over a thousand soldiers dropped into the station. They were dressed in Coalition armor, but this was the first step...they were Dominion, through and through. The Dominion had finally started playing its hand; total domination. Their own private army. And nobody could stop them now.

“Rhia? How’s the passenger situation looking?”

Alister sat on the edge of his seat in the taxi, watching the scene of the station glide by. In total, they had been on station for a couple hours, and it was going pretty well...which meant it was time to leave. Alister and company had learned early on not to stick to one place for long, or else someone, somewhere would know that you were there, and they’d be gunning for you. Alister himself had quite a few scars obtained from such encounters, and Rhia had a few tattoos to commemorate the vicious assassinations she had been privy to. ”So far, so good, Captain. Got a few passengers, but still waiting on that little girl of yours. And station security seems to be rushing around, like something is going on. I-hold on, one of them is coming over here.” Rhia’s voice cut out, and Alister’s fists clenched tightly. This was getting worse, and fast. First it was that shaking, like an earthquake, or a heavy impact; Alister assumed the latter, obviously. The taxi was sure taking its damn time, and Alister was getting uneasy...frustrated...and definitely on edge. ”This s**t needs to hurry up…” He mumbled to himself, his gut twisting in anticipation.

The station security officer approached Rhia, as she lowered her wrist comm, and looked at him through narrowed eyes. ”M’am, is this your ship?” He asked, gesturing to the Persephone. ”Belongs to the captain, but yes.” Her words came out ice cold, and she crossed her arms, waiting impatiently for him to move along. ”I’m sorry to inconvenience you, m’am, but we’ve gotten word to close the station doors, for maintenance purposes. Not sure how long it’ll take.” This did not make Rhia happy in the least, as she reached over, grabbing the man by his chestplate, and hauling him off his feet. ”Want to explain that to me again?” He grabbed at her wrist, but she had already begun to crush his windpipe without a second thought. He was suffocating slowly, and Rhia seemed to give no indication of stopping, or caring at all.

The taxi eventually landed, some distance away from the Docking bay entrance. Alister could barely make out the words ‘Docking Bay C’ in the distance. Losing contact with Rhia had made him even more anxious, but he also didn’t want to hazard looking too suspicious. Nonetheless, he had one hand hovering over his holster, and he moved quickly, weaving through the crowds, his eyes scanning for any sign of the blonde girl he was supposed to transport. His comm started beeping suddenly, and looking down, he was relieved to see an image of Rhia appear, though she did not look happy. Whenever she was indeed unhappy, her Scottish accent flared up quite amusingly, though he repressed his laughter as she spoke. ”Sorry for that, captain. Idiot decided to try and tell me we couldn’t leave...maintenance or some nonsense…” The sound of a man recovering from being strangled could be heard in the background, and a chuckle escaped Alister’s lips. He was about to reply, when he caught sight of Daniella, and a pair of men with her. ”Found the girl, and am en route to the ship. Don’t leave without me, beautiful.” Rhia scoffed at his playful jackassery, and the video cut out.

He arrived just in time to hear the words tumble out of Ben’s mouth. He even vaguely recognized Ben from earlier, as the man he had pretty much plowed into. ”Did you find her? She likes to go off places without telling anyone, so I’m glad she found someone who looks as respectable as you to help her out. Come on, we need to get going or we’ll be late.” For a girl that herself described her actions as ‘flying the coop’, after almost being nabbed by a GenEx goon, Alister doubted that something so innocent and simple would even make any sense. But something that he did expect; whomever this man was, he knew Daniella’s value. Pulling a pistol out of the holster, he pointed it at Ben, and shouted, ”Step away from the girl, unless you want some new holes in your ******** head.” He made his way in, shoving Daniella closer to the door to the docking bay with one hand, before whipping out his other pistol, and pointing it at Christian. ”And in the hands of little GenEx Jr. Not enough for your goons to attack the girl, and me, in a bar, is it?” He stood there, pistols trained on their targets, when a screeching noise, almost like something cutting through pressurized metal, came from above.

A group of Coalition soldiers in heavy armor dropped to the metallic floor with a clunk, and they instantly trained their own rifles on Alister. ”ALISTER BLOOD, DANIELLA PEARSON, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF VICE ADMIRAL HALLORAN, LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND SURRENDER. THE REST OF YOU, MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR GODS.” Alister only hesitated for a moment, before lowering his weapons into their holsters, and raised his hands, smirking back at Dani. Then, suddenly, with a flick of his wrist, a small object went rolling towards the soldiers, beeping slightly. In the commotion of screams and terror, none of them noticed the small grenade at their feet, until it was too late. The two in the front exploded into a bloody mess. Two on the side had moved in, taking position in front of Christian. The pair of them deployed large energy shields, forming a veritable wall in front of the GenEx heir. They had been informed to protect him if they found him, though Halloran hadn’t been too concerned if he ended up dead in the crossfire. The smoke from the explosion gave them a few moments, and Alister grabbed Daniella, tossing her over his shoulder, and charged into the docking bay. With a free hand, he punched in 47C, the door getting jammed. He growled in anger, slamming the console with his fist. Soldiers were swarming everywhere, taking the dock by storm. In the distance, Rhia could almost be seen, fighting off a wave of them, almost overwhelmed.

XXXXXXXXUpon seeing Christian, Dani smiled. It was a genuine smile, and probably the most well deserved of the day. "It's alright." She replied calmly, peeking up to him. "And I'd rather not say...The less you know the better." Her eyes drifted to the card as he passed it to her. Quickly she moved it to one of her jacket pockets that had a zipper on it, keeping it safe for the time being. "Thank you, Christian. Really. You've been such a help..." Daniella gave another soft smile, but she couldn't help but feel that her words of gratitude truly expressed how thankful she was. Freedom had been something she'd yearned for for a long time, and Christian had helped her make that a reality. Along with a couple of other GenEx guards at the facility of course...She couldn't have done it alone, that was for sure.

Dani watched him as he moved, leaning casually as if there wasn't a care in the world. The female shook her head as he spoke again. "No, nothing I can think of at the moment." She was desperate to not take advantage of the GenEx heir, so she wasn't planning on asking for anything she didn't absolutely need. He continued, and Dani nodded her head in response. "Hopefully so...Somewhere small. Somewhere no one would think to look..." Dani put a hand to the side of her head in thought. She still hadn't quite figured out where it was she was going. Perhaps Alister could give some good advice, even if it came at a price. Slowly, she looked back over to Christian, inspecting his attire. It was odd to see him so dressed down, but even so he still looked like a million bucks compared to everyone else in the vacinity. Dani smiled and shook her head. Christian really was a good guy. It baffled her how he had turned out that way, but she was grateful for it nonetheless.

The blonde flinched as another voice entered the conversation. Somewhat frightened, Dani looked up to the other male and went to reading his mind without a second to spare. His mouth spouted a stream of nonsense---but that was just a cover. His mind was more telling, and more abrupt. Daniella did her best to keep her composure as he grasped her hand, and as she came to terms with what was about to happen. She took a short breath and looked back to Christian. "Better be going now..."
"You promise not to harm him?" Her words would float through William's head easily. Daniella gave him a stern look---well, as stern as she could muster. He definitely wasn't going to take her to freedom, that was for sure. But she couldn't risk Christian getting hurt. After everything he'd done, he didn't need to be shot down in Kessel Station.

After a moment, she looked back to Christian. Vaugly, she noticed Alister approaching out of the corner of her eye. "You should get out of here now. I have a feeling things are about to get ugly..." She said to Christian through silent means. Dani looked down to her hand and bit the inside of her cheek, not quite liking the look of it while it was being held by whomever this man was. Alister was quick to act, obviously motivated by however many credits Dani would be paying him. But that was all fine and well with Daniella: she didn't mind what his motivation was as long as it kept her safe.
He pushed her, and Daniella did her best not to topple over. Alister was so forceful, but for now she chalked that up to a good thing. She watched as he moved his gun from William to Christian. Dani's eyes widened a fraction and she took a step closer to Alister. "Don't hurt him." She demanded, her quiet voice gaining a bit of edge during the little fiasco.

The screeching noise had distracted all of them, and out of instinct Dani had put her hands to the side of her head. The thoughts around her would have been distracting if the group of soldiers wasn't holding her attention so well. Halloran...a familiar name. Daniella wasn't quite versed in everything this solar system had to offer, but she'd picked up a thing or two over the years. Names and places mainly, reasons behind the war. Cautiously she looked to Christian. For a moment she had thought that this was all a plan, that he didn't really want to help her and was just playing some game with her. But he looked just as surprised by it as anyone else.

Grey eyes drifted to Alister as he smirked. "Uh oh..." Dani thought to herself. She watched as he flicked something towards the guards, which exploded shortly after. There was smoke, around now, which caused her to cough slightly. She wasn't use to all of this, and her body was making it fairly obvious. Daniella gasped slightly as she felt herself being yanked upwards. It was Alister, she could tell from the fragments of his thoughts she was receiving. If it hadn't been such a drastic situation she may have made more of a fuss about being hauled up like a sack of potatoes. Again she looked to Christian, relieved to find that he had been protected from anything by two of the soldiers. Alister was moving quickly though, so a proper goodbye wasn't really in the cards.
"I'm sorry Christian...It will be alright. Stay safe please..."

Dani shifted a bit in her position, craning her neck to look at Alister as he slammed the lift console violently. She winced, hoping that she'd made the right choice in all of this. At least she still wasn't at GenEx though. "You showed up just in time." Daniella mused quietly, trying to lighten the mood. But it probably wasn't helping in the least: more likely she was annoying the temperamental outlaw who had her draped over his shoulder. Dani herself was panicked, though she was doing her best to cover it up and keep a cool demeanor. She wanted out of Kessel Station, and fast.

Christian nodded to Dani. He wouldn't pry, she never asked about his life, he wouldn't pry about hers. It was common curtsey, it was how he was raised. His mother always did tell him to treat women with the respect they deserve. "Its the least I could offer....given what has happen to you," maybe it was his way to make up for the deeds that his company had done to her. Even if it wasn't by his hands or orders. His father still let it happen, wanted more to happen. "Just want to make sure no one finds you, want you to be free of anything or anyone that works for GenEx, you deserve that much," the guilt wasn't even his to have. But, that didn't stop him from feeling it. From feeling like he could of somehow stopped it earlier. "But, lets not worry about that. I would of offered lunch, but if people are looking for yo-"

His head snapped at the man that called Dani's name and he stepped towards the blonde. His eyes narrowing on the stranger. A mercenary, the only reason anyone would know her, and that was never a good thing. Christian looked at Dani and shook his head, placing a hand on her shoulder. "She has no need to go with you." his tone was cold, he reached into his pocket to grasp his phone. Flicking on the emergency signal quickly, any guards that worked for GenEx would be alerted to it. While, it might of not been the best choice given that they would try to apprehend Dani. It would get the merc caught and if he tried to fight, Christian could get away with Dani.

But, it seemed more were coming. Dani's voice filtered through his mind. 'I'm going no where. I can get you out of here, safe and sound. Just need to buy some time,' he reminded confident. Weakness was no thing he would show. Even as the gun was pointed at him and sour words were spat from the face he knew. Anyone who was higher up had heard of Alister Blood. He was a wanted man and someone that Christian was warned about.

"I did not order the goons to attack. I would like her to get somewhere safe," an alert came from his phone as the same time the screeching noise echoed through the air. Pulling out his device it was an evacuation warning. The soldiers came down and it happened all too quickly. The grenade and the soldiers in front of him. Telling him to stand back, they would get him somewhere safe. Christian's hand grew into a tight fist. They wanted Dani and at the moment Alister was the only thing keeping her safe. "Stand down, the girl is under GenEx's protection. If she is going with anyone its me," as much as he hated the next words that would leave his lips. It was something he had to do, had to try to make it work. "Check her arm, it will prove she is GenEx property, therefore my business. You men have nothing to do with her, I could care less for Mr. Blood, but she is to come with me," one of the soldiers turned to him with the gun pointed.

"Sorry, Mr. Bernet we have direct orders." Christian scoffed and snapped his head as he saw several of the guards run towards him, weapons drawn towards the soldiers. "Order your men to stand down."

"My men are doing there job and you have a weapon pointed at me, you threaten me anymore and I'll give them there order," it was with a shove from the annoyed solider that one his guards shot. Snagging the attention of several of the soldiers, giving Christian the chance to sneak past them and get by Alister. Shoving the mans hand away from the tram controls.

"Being barbaric is hardly going to get it to work," he typed in a simple override code. Being a member of high society seemed to help him have a bit of an upper hand. The tram door soon opened. "In, like it or not I'm going to help Dani get off this station and somewhere safe. You promise me that and I assure you'll have one hell of a payday," he looked towards the other man. "The same goes for you. But, you will be my own guard. Make sure I don't get shot and you'll never have to work a day in your life once this is all over."

Money was by far the most powerful weapon to have. As long as he wasn't cut off from his father, which he doubted the man would ever do. Christian was his only hope of keeping GenEx in the family. Unless the man had some b*****d child he never talked about. It would hard surprise him if he did. After his mother's death, the man was often seen with other women. However, none would be of age to take over GenEx, nor raised in preparation for taking the company over.

He looked towards the soldiers and guards that were caught in a firefight. It was taking most of the attention off of them, save for a few soldiers that had weapons pointed and were shouting at the group to stand down. "Mr. Blood why don't you prove how skilled you are. They blocked the tram, the override code will work, but we need to buy some time. A couple of minutes."

                                                      {[ still there, but if anything needs to be changed. I'll edit. ]}

Nothing much had changed at the docking bay. The girl Alexei had been watching did indeed seem to have a lover, or something similar, because as if her story had come true, a man came to meet the girl and they exchanged words quietly, almost intimately. Then, just to spice up the story, another man intervened and seemed to cause a rift between the two. Perhaps a second lover, or a brother? Honestly, Alexei enjoyed coming up with these stories because they were often more fun than the truth.

And then the truth suddenly became interesting. Another man, whose face Alexei could swear was familiar but she was sure had never been near her before, appeared, and pulled out a gun. On Kessel Station, she had heard that the police just made sure that vigilantism didn't get too out of hand, and judging from the lack of interference, they were judging this to be quite in check. Unfortunately, she had more important things to be keeping an eye on. She checked in on Maiachev and Moraz again--everything was still going well. Maiachev was closing the briefcase, and it appeared they were going to shake on it.

That is, until the dozens of Coalition soldiers came pouring in.

"ALISTER BLOOD, DANIELLA PEARSON, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF VICE ADMIRAL HALLORAN, LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND SURRENDER. THE REST OF YOU, MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR GODS.” After that announcement, there seemed to be a moment of silence before the pandemonium.

Alexei's eyes widened for a moment before she whipped around and punched a soldier square in the face, knocking him back in surprise. She lunged at him and stabbed him in the throat, pulling the knife out and grabbing his pistol as he choked to death on his own blood. A bullet whizzed by her ear, and she became very aware of her vulnerability. I'm not wearing armor. This isn't good. Why the hell are Coalition people storming the station and killing everyone? This can't be related to Lethe...can it? Alexei pursed her lips as she vaulted over the side of the balcony, hitting the floor and rushing to the ship her boss was on. Alister Blood...that name, it's so familiar.

She couldn't dwell on it for very long before the door to the ship flew open, and Moraz and Maiachev stormed out, guns blazing. Moraz was covered in blood, and Maiachev appeared to have been shot. "IAH? No, that ******** was Coalition, or whatever. The doors locked an' he asked about Zeus. Like we ********' know where Zeus is. s**t!" Moraz yelled, shooting a soldier rushing towards him.

Alexei went to Maiachev and put her arm around him. He was much taller than her, but he leaned into her and rested his gun arm for a moment. The briefcase was in his other hand. "Zeus is on the station. We need to get to him," Maiachev said, shaking a little from the pain of the wound.

Moraz threw a guy off of him and kicked his face in. "Are you ********' kiddin' me? Zeus is here?! Where!"

"He's--" before Maiachev could reply, four soldiers came rocketing down from out of nowhere. Alexei, who was supporting the injured man, could only throw herself to the ground. Moraz stepped above them to protect the boss, but was taken off guard and several bullets pierced through him.

[********] he sputtered, blood trickling down his mouth before collapsing on top of them.

Alexei swore and struggled under the weight of the two men. Maiachev grasped the briefcase, which had been dropped in the struggle, and thrust it at the woman. She looked at it, and then at him, with some confusion. The battle raged on above them.

"Take it," he gasped. "This briefcase, it's important. Guard it with your life. Do not let it fall into enemy hands." He coughed, blood splattering on the floor.

"But it's just lotos. You were going to sell it to that man," Alexei replied, her mind hurting from the noise and what he was saying.

"Not the case. Just the lotos. The case has much more than just..." helet out a strained breath, his eyes rolling into the back of his head for a moment before returning to gaze into her artificial stare. "Get the hell out of here. Now!"

She cried out a little as he gripped her leg and pushed her away from him. She scrambled up, quickly gathering her balance. A man came up to her, and he whipped the briefcase at him, knocking him down. Alexei's head was spinning. What was supposed to be a routine drug deal had turned into espionage. Zeus, the Olympian leader, had ties to Lethe? Maiachev knew where he was, which meant Milieux must know. And what the hell was in the briefcase that was so important? And now she was supposed to protect it? How the hell was she going to get back to Mars with the station like this?

She heard a shriek, and looked towards the docking bay tram. The love-bird girl and the man they called Alister Blood were on it, along with the silver-haired man with the nice clothes and the thing for the girl. The tram was the only way out of this mess, at least for now. Muttering obscenities under her breath, Alexei broke out into full sprint towards the tram, shooting, killing, and hitting everybody in her way that looked at her funny. By the time she had approached the tram, she was breathing heavily, wearing civilian clothes and splattered with blood, clutching the briefcase and her Silent Shooter.

Alexei heard the silver-haired man say something about buying time. "You need time? As long as you can get this thing working and us out of here, I'll buy you all the time you need," Alexei said by way of introduction, turning around to beat yet another soldier to death with the briefcase.

War brought more glory to their eyes than blood,
And gave their laughs more glee than shakes a child.
Merry it was to laugh there —
Where death becomes absurd and life absurder.
For power was on us as we slashed bones bare
Not to feel sickness or remorse of murder.

Damn. Will was not happy with the situation he was in. The silver-haired man did not want him to take the girl, and now Alister freaking Blood was pointing guns at them. Will let go of Daniella and raised his hands slowly. He could deal with a wealthy man who likely had only basic combat training, but a pirate who already had his guns out was a fight Will did not think he could win without some help. Things were escalating much more quickly than Will liked. At this rate, the only way this could get any crazier is for the military to show up and attempt to arrest everyone, he thought as he looked from Blood to the other man.

It was at this point a screeching sound rang out from above them. It took Will a moment to identify why it sounded so familiar, but by the time he placed what made the sound, soldiers were landing on the floor. Speak of the devil. The soldiers seemed more occupied with Alister and Daniella than Will and the other man. Will thought about trying to slip away and try to snag the girl later once Blood was gone, but any plan he was formulating went out the window when he saw Blood flick something at the soldiers. Diving behind a crate, Will heard the explosion and watched a bit of gore and debris fly against the walls. In the chaos, Will ducked away to cover behind another stack of crates, peeking around the edge to get an idea of what was happening.

Chaos. That was what Will saw unfolding in the area. More soldiers were entering the area, and they were showing no mercy to anyone, not even station security. The fact they had arrived without Terran Intelligence knowing they would be here disturbed Will. The military gave a heads up to Intelligence when they were going to raid somewhere they suspected would have agents, and Intelligence could usually pick up on something like this going down. This time, it had slipped through the cracks. Vice Admiral Halloran was a man Will had heard stories about. “Gallows” was what people called him behind his back. Tales of his extravagant executions of pirates were traded by nearly everyone who heard about them, and Intelligence loved to gossip about the latest executions. Intelligence also loved to talk about how he was firmly in the grasp of the Dominion. Credits from their bribes to ensure his loyalty lined the man’s pockets, an insult to the military and the Coalition as a whole. Halloran was a prime example of what Will hoped to change one day, but for now, he had to deal with the man’s sneak attack on the station.

As he glanced back over towards the group he had fled from, Alister was carrying Daniella off towards the tram. Moments later, he was followed by the man who had met Daniella. The man seemed to punch in a code to override the tram lockdown, meaning he was from the upper end of society. Whoever this was, he had leverage with people who pulled a lot of strings. At this point, Will could sneak off and try to find another way to get Dani or take his chances with the group. Judging by the way the Coalition military was shooting up the place, he doubted he would get another opportunity like this to keep up with the girl. Swearing under his breath, he reached into his jacket and pulled out his M2244. As his hand gripped the pistol, the onboard computer read his biometrics, automatically disengaging the safety and readying the gun to fire. As he sprinted towards the tram, Will fired a few shots at any soldier who looked his way. While they may have been out to murder everyone here, they were still Coalition military. Will wanted to avoid killing them if he could, but he had a feeling Intelligence would not mind him ensuring his survival.

As he reached the tramcar where the others were, he noticed another woman had arrived and joined them. She was covered in blood and held a briefcase. She wore an interesting set of goggles, and Will swore he could see her eyes crackling with electricity. As he followed this woman in, he raised his hands and kept his finger off the trigger. ”Look, I know we didn’t start off on the best of terms, but I think we can all put that behind us and focus on getting the hell out of here. If the military is shooting up the place, I think we have bigger problems than a squabble over a girl,” he said calmly. He made no hostile movements and kept looking from person to person, studying their faces and body language in case any made a move to threaten him. He was genuinely not interested in fighting them and would fight with them until they were safe from the slaughter.

Lorelei yawned and looked into the empty bay now. The only thing standing there now was Jamie. He leaned over to the side and wiped sweat from his brow. "Hey boss. Everything is taken care of. The only thing left to do now is to fix the ship." He let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck. His face turned red and he had a sincerely apologetic look. "I am really sorry about that Lore... I didn't mean for it to break. It just.. happened, ya know?" Lorelei rested her hands on her hips and let out a big sigh. She couldn't really stay mad at him, after all, the ship was pretty old and was falling apart anyway. Jamie probably didn't even have anything to do with it. She walked up to him and put a hand on his shoulder and gave him a smirk. "I'll forgive you this time, but try and take good care of this clunker. It's a classic" Jamie rolled his eyes and walked back past her and inside the ship, leaving her alone in the cargo bay area.

She put the part down that she bought from Leo's and looked down at it. She figured she might as well get started on the repairs so that they could get out of there as quickly as possible. Her utility belt was still around her waist, but she knew that she would need her other tools as well. She went over to a little area in the cargo bay that had a backpack hanging from a hook. In the backpack were several tools that were more for specific jobs than just general maintenance. Installing this new A/C element is certainly not everyday maintenance. She grabbed the backpack off of the hook and tossed it over to where the part was. Brushing back her strawberry hair, she thought about her earlier encounter with the happenings at The Event Horizon. A small grin grew across her pink lips and she shook her head. There's always something exciting going on on this damn station.... And it's usually the kind of excitement I'm not too excited to see.

Just as Lorelei was about ready to start on the work with her new part, she heard a couple screams come from the dock. And this is what I get for being on the "ground floor" of the docking area... She rose up from where she was sitting and peeked her head out of the ship bay. Not too far away from where she was, she could see a small group of people having a little disagreement. She saw a girl with blonde hair next to three men. One of the men, had a gun pointed and didn't seem like the type to not give empty threats. She rose an eyebrow as she looked at them talk for a short period of time. Lorelei wasn't necessarily one for peeping in on people's lives and conversations, but certainly something as lively as this happening right on the docks was public enough that it wasn't considered to be creepy. She almost felt like she should go and intervene in on the situation before it go too serious. The last thing she wanted was for something to go down right in front of her, and having a rush of station police on the seen. No way they would let ships leave the area if something like that happened.

"ALISTER BLOOD, DANIELLA PEARSON, UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF VICE ADMIRAL HALLORAN, LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND SURRENDER. THE REST OF YOU, MAKE PEACE WITH YOUR GODS.”

A very loud announcement spread through the dock area that was suddenly now swarming with the Coalition Military. Lorelei's eyes grew wide and she just let out a huge big "s**t!". Chaos broke loose on the station as everything was being shut down. Soldiers flooded the crowds and gunshots and blasts could be heard throughout the area. She looked back over toward where the people she was spying on where at. They were suddenly gone! Lorelei quickly scanned the area with her blue eyes until she saw the distinctive blonde hair of the female. She was being carried by the intimidating looking guy with dark hair. They were running toward she tram. Her eyes then closed for a moment so that she could think. She didn't really know what to do at this point in time. They obviously weren't looking for her, but she still had a sick feeling in her stomach that somehow the military would find out about her illegal dealings. She hated the military and this event really wasn't making her feel any better. There was also no way now that she would be able to fly out of here, or at least her ship wouldn't be big enough or fast enough to do so. Her options were getting smaller and smaller the more she thought about it, but then she decided what needed to be done. Obviously those people had a place to go.. That guy looked like he knew a way out. Maybe he has a ship? I bet he does! And if he does, I'm going on it! That's my only ticket out of here. But wait... what about.. Jamie? I can't just leave him here! Well.. he'll be fine I'm sure. He seems like an innocent kid. He doesn't have anything to run from, I do.

She quickly ran back into the bay and grabbed her backpack. She wasn't exactly sure where she was going, but it didn't matter, she never left her tools if she could help it. Jamie suddenly burst through the door at the end of the bay and yelled out to her. "What the hell is going on?!" Lorelei looked back quickly at him but continued to make her way out of the cargo bay. She didn't have the time to talk to him about her plan of action, if you could even call it a plan. She could get a hold of him later through Tic-Tac since he was connected to the ship's systems. Her tools around her utility belt clanked and smacked against her as she quickly ran as fast as she could toward the tram. There were several people in her way, but she knocked them down. Her hand reached to her utility belt and she grabbed her wrench and held it in both hands. Soldiers were now rushing toward the tram where the others had gone to. Before she got there, she saw another female enter the tram. Their worried looks lead her to believe that something was wrong with the tram. She was worried that maybe she made a bad decision, that maybe the tram was already shut down. Despite this, she kept running and slammed her wrench into a few of the stomachs of soldiers that were near the tram.

Just as she was about to get right up beside the tram, she heard the girl with the briefcase speak. "You need time? As long as you can get this thing working and us out of here, I'll buy you all the time you need," Lorelei hit another soldier right on his helmet before Lorelei pushed her way into the tram as well. "There's a few seconds of time. Now that I'm here the real party can start. It seems like the door is jammed. Let me take a look..." She opened up a panel that was next to the door. Several wires and a touch-pad were revealed. In a blink of an eye she was typing in numbers into the touch-pad and she grabbed a wire stripper from her belt with her other hand. She stripped two of the wires of their colored, plastic coating and connected them together, creating a small spark. A few more numbers were punched into the pad and then she slammed the panel cover back on. Suddenly, the tram door shut. Lorelei let out a big sigh and then leaned back onto a seat. "So... where are we headed?"

“Listen here, Junior. You’re speaking my language now. I’ll take her any god damned where you want, as long as you can deliver. I always fulfill my contracts. Though, keeping you safe too is gonna cost a little extra. Especially with this s**t...What do you think Halloran is gonna think when he learns you trotted off with an outlaw, an escapee...and this guy? Kidnapping of GenEx junior makes a hell of a convincing argument for more resources to hunt down two people he already wants.” It was clear that Alister wasn’t happy with the current situation. He had managed to acquire the girl, but in the process, he got stuck with rich boy and...whoever the hell this other goon was. Rich boy made himself useful, at least, overriding whatever was locking down the tram, but it seemed there was still a problem with the doors. At the mention of buying them some time, Alister grinned, set down Daniella on one of the seats of the dream, and drew out his durasteel katana, quite a few etches in the blade, as if they indicated kills, which they did. It was about that time when a blood splattered woman, carrying a briefcase, and a pistol, decided to join them, and with a once over of her, Alister grinned. He could appreciate someone covered in blood, holding a weapon. He was still stained with a little blood from his episode in the Event Horizon. Looking from Alexei, to the group of soldiers nearby, he shrugged. ”Lucky for you, darlin’, I’m willing to share the fun.” A soldier bashed down by a briefcase, and Alister almost laughed, before another one approached the tram door, and with a quick set of movements, Alister gutted him, ducking back into the tram, using it as cover from the gunfire.

He heard Ben’s voice, and it instantly soured his mood. There was something off about the guy, something that Alister didn’t like. It was the way he held himself...it was familiar, but he was trying to make it look like it wasn’t. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but a few shots blasting towards them convinced him it wasn’t pertinent at the moment. ”I wanna be clear with something first...you were definitely the last person I would have put on the guest list for this ride. But, thankfully for you, running your mouth for long enough made a good point tumble the hell out. If this ******** tram system wasn’t such garbage…” A few more soldiers got close, and Alister spun out of the cover of the tram, pistol in one hand, blade in the other. He fired twice, near misses both times, but a trained eye would notice that he shot exactly where he meant to, as the soldiers became slightly distracted by the shots. The katana easily slid through the armored plating of the first soldier, piercing his heart. Alister planet a foot into the hilt, and kicked the sword deeper, also knocking him into the soldier behind him, skewering that one as well, but not killing him. The last one raised his rifle to fire, but Alister grabbed the butt off the weapon, yanked it forward, and eventually wrapped his arm around the armor plated soldier’s. Best thing about armor plating, were the weak spots. Apply enough force and pressure to the right spot...and the soldier began to scream in agony as Alister broke the bone, and followed it with placing his pistol right underneath the helmet, cool metal of the Raptor resting against his neck, and pulled the trigger, evacuating the man’s skull cavity. The katana skewered pair had taken a tumble to the ground, and Alister placed his foot on the corpse on top, the man on the bottom squirming under the weight, and the fact that every moment sent the blade sliding through his armor and flesh. With all his might, Alister eventually yanked the katana out, and the scream from the soldier was mixed with relief, until Alister brought a heavy boot down on his throat, turning whatever noise he was making into the sound of the man gurgling on his own blood. Alister was assured that if any other soldiers approached, the girl with the electric eyes could handle it...even that other smuggler, with his odd reluctance to shoot the soldiers.

While he was murdering Dominion goons, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a woman, armed with a wrench, bashing skulls, and enter the tram. He returned to the tram, and caught the tail end of her little bit of maintenance, before the door slid closed, and the tram began to move. ”Dock 47C. Nice work on the door, Strawberry. Unless anyone else has a better plan, which I doubt since we’re all here, we’re gonna pile on my ship, blow the doors, and then go head to head with a Coalition battle group. And said battle group happens to be commanded by an absolutely psychopath...well, some kind of psychopath. Not the good kind. All we have to do is make it through them, and then...well, this isn’t a free taxi service. I’ll take you as far as the credits will go. Discount to everyone for a life or death escape. I usually charge extra for it, but I think I can let it slide, this time…” There was a hard impact, and the tram shook violently, as part of the structure of the station was engulfed in an explosion. The tram kept chugging along, and the sign for dock 47C was looming ahead. The tram slid to a stop, and the worn out ship sat in the dock, causing Alister to smile wide. ”And never has she looked so beautiful…” Alister glanced down at the dock, and saw a pile of corpses, and pool of blood...not all the corpses seemed to be soldiers. Standing in the midst of them was his blonde first mate, who snarled at their arrival, covered in blood. ”’bout time you showed up, Cap’n. And looks like you brought an entire entourage...hope they’re all paying. Thorn brought some of the replacement parts...and then had part of his brains replaced with bullets. So we’re down a mechanic, several of the crew members, and one or two of the passengers I picked up.”

Alister went from not pleased with the situation, to absolutely pissed. ”We’ll worry about it later, Rhia. Get her ready to jet...I may have to blast my way out of here. All of you, on the ship. Follow Rhia up to the cockpit, and buckle in. This is not gonna be pretty. I’m going to need someone on the auxiliary guns. I’m willing to bet the entire payday that Junior promised that Halloran isn’t going to let us go without a fight. Stubborn b*****d. We’ll work out your travel plans after we confirm that we’re alive, well, and safe.” With that, Rhia took lead of the group, up into the bowels of Persephone, and into the cockpit. The ship was quite sizeable, and the interior, while not a luxury liner, did not quite reflect the worn out exterior. The ship was definitely patched together, not functioning as well as it could, and anyone with an eye for ships and their parts would take note of illegal modifications under the ‘hood’ that gave this almost piece of junk worth something in a fight or flight. The cockpit was quite spacious, with two seats in front of the console, two on the sides of the cockpit, and two fold down emergency seats near the doorway. Rhia jumped into the co-pilot seat, and started powering up the ship systems. ”Auxiliary guns are back down the hall, first right and left. You watch the ship flanks, and blow these ******** out of the sky.” She said to the group, as she worked. The middle of the console lit up, and the form of a woman dressed in what seemed to be traditional Greek garb appeared. she glowed with a purple hue, and frowned as she saw the large amount of people. ”Getting into some trouble already, Mehria?” The Scot growled at the AI, who just shrugged, and began to manage her pertinent systems. ”Ship is ready for take off. I detect...many hostiles outside the station. IFF tags show Coalition forces.” It was at this moment that Alister came barreling into the cockpit, and threw himself into the pilot’s seat, strapping in.

The front guns fired with a nice rumble, blowing the docking bay door to smithereens. The shielding was weak, but managed to maintain the atmosphere as the magnetic docking clamps released the ship. With a few swipes of the console, the ship adjusted its bearing, and out before them, among the stars, were several enormous ships, along with smaller fighters beyond count. Station security had started fighting back, as well as a number of Children of Olympus ships, appearing on the holographic overlay. Alister threw the engines to full, bursting out of the station, and into the fray. Fighters would attack the ship from multiple sides, and he hoped that someone was on the guns, covering his a**. Evasive maneuvers were violent, erratic, and could easily make someone sick as he barrelled through the Coalition battle group, coming alongside the largest ship, the words CSS JUSTICE painted along the side. He frowned as he saw that, and shuddered. The ship rumbled from a few hard impacts, Persephone swinging around to face Alister, her movements elegant, her dress flowing beneath her. Her voice was calm and silky, ”Shields at 56%, Alister. The odds of this fight do not look like. Engaging FTL drive...they’re attempting to jam our propulsion, but I’m counteracting it. The AI aboard the Justice is quite adept at cyber warfare, and if we aren’t able to clear their range soon, we may not be able to escape.” Alister didn’t seem too shaken, but it was mostly for show. He could feel a pair of fighters on their a**, and took a deep breath. ”Hold on everyone...this might get...uncomfortable.” He pulled the ship into a violent swerve, catapulting the flying metal death trap underneath the Justice. The pair of fighters came to follow, one of them unable to make that powerful of a turn, and crashing into the side of the large ship. The other fighter was in pursuit, other fighters following its lead and attacking the ship. Apparently Halloran was on to them, as most of the ships were being diverted in their general direction. Alister did all he could, swerving, weaving, doing barrel rolls, but he couldn’t shake all of the ships off.

”Persephone...divert all shields to aft. Put as much power as you can into the engines and FTL drive...get us out of here.” The ship began to accelerate, a few stray shots striking the side of the ship, now unshielded. Things weren’t looking good, until finally, space around them seemed to change, and the ship broke free from the battle, and left Kessel station behind. Alister let out a breath, and slumped back in his seat. ”Jesus...mother of ******** almost DIED back there. MAN THAT WAS A RUSH!” His expression had shifted from focused and intense to overjoyed and overconfident, removing his harness, and tapping in some coordinates to the autopilot. ”Persephone...do a full survey of the ship...I’ll need a damage report. Rhia, we’re gonna need to find some way to get those replacement parts in their places. And please, take our passengers to the cargo hold. Set up temporary quarters. The rest of the ship is off limits, without an escort. Once we get settled, we can negotiate fees, bunk arrangements...and food.” Alister turned back from the others, facing the void before them, and relaxed in his seat, as if he had no care in the world. Rhia turned to the others, and bluntly told them to follow her. As she led them, she briefly mused about her lack of mechanical skill, and how she wouldn’t be able to repair the ship anytime soon, the quality of the food on ship being lacking, among other issues. She didn’t expect anyone to be listening, but damn did she talk about it.

Will was glad the pirate at least saw the logic that he had presented. It would have been a rather poor way to go if Blood had shot him, or had been left to be shot by the soldiers he supplied intel to. As the doors to the tram sealed and it began to make its way towards bay 47C, Will surveyed the car. It was a rather motley group that had banded together to escape the massacre. A pirate, a telepath, a rich kid, a bloodied woman with cybernetic eyes, a mechanic, and a spy masquerading as a smuggler. At least they had a broad range of skills covered in the six individuals, and that would play in their favor to escaping this alive.

As the tram pulled to a stop and let its passengers exit, Will surveyed the carnage. Blood, guts, and bodies littered the docking bay. Reports of the ferocity of Blood and his crew had clearly not been exaggerated. They had the ability to lay waste to even trained military personnel with minimal casualties, something that impressed Will. While he did not like having to work with them to escape, he could respect their talents, even if those talents were used to murder Coalitions soldiers. While it disappointed him these men were dead, he knew they would have gladly put bullets in him had they been given the opportunity. As for the ship, Will was considerably less impressed. The exterior was worn, and it looked as if it needed to have an overhaul. Confidence was not something Will felt as he walked up the boarding ramp. Inside, the ship was certainly better than the outside, but to say it was nice would be an overstatement. Will would have greatly preferred to be on board his ship, the Cornucopia, but it was too far from his current position to reach before the Coalition had this place sealed too tight to escape. While Blood’s vessel looked like it was on its last legs, this was still a pirate vessel; it was probably one of the best ships to try and outrun a Coalition battle group with.

As he stood looking in the cockpit, he heard Rhia mention the auxiliary guns. ”I’ll take one,” he said, backing up and running down the hall. He took command of the gun on the right, sitting down at the controls and preparing to blast away any fighters that tried to destroy the ship. As the ship readied for takeoff, Will sent out a quick message to Corsair. He was fairly certain the Coalition had been jamming communications, which is why he had not heard from the AI, but he had to try to make sure Corsair knew where he was. He sent the message, hoping the AI would receive it. If he didn’t, Will could find himself stuck somewhere with or without Alister Blood, and the intelligence agent was not sure which would be worse.

A few moments after sending the message, the ship rocketed out of the docking bay and into open space. Will could see other ships attempting to fight and break away from the Coalition forces, some with more success than others. As the fighters began to take notice of the new vessel attempting to flee, Will brought the gun to bear on the closest fighter and began firing. The lead fighter was caught off guard by the sudden barrage, and it burst into flames as it was shredded. The other fighters broke off, attempting other avenues of attack. Will did his best to keep up with the fighters and did a fairly good job of keeping them from getting too many shots off.

After the ship made its daring, and reckless, escape, Will stood up and breathed a sigh of relief for a moment. Then, he was being herded with the others to the cargo bay. As they stood around, Will looked around at the rest of the people in the cargo hold. ”So does anyone have any idea where we’re going?” he inquired, hoping someone would have an idea where the pirate would be taking them.

XXXXXXXXThere was a brief moment of panic when Dani heard Christian request the soldiers to look at her arm. Was he really turning her in? No, he wouldn't do that right? Things were happening too fast, and it was hard for her to keep up. There was fighting all around. Guns, blood, overall panic. The thoughts were also frantic, and loud. Some were screaming---and of course there was that ever creepy silence that came after someone died. And with the current situation that was happening repeatedly. Despite her head swirling around, Daniella managed to shoot William a glare as he entered the tram. At least Christian was there: that gave her some semblance of comfort. He had offered Alister money also, which was a good thing. It seemed that money was one of Alister's primary motivators...Christian was coming along too it seemed. Dani barely responded as Alister moved her to a seat on the tram. She was too busy trying to block everything out to be of much use. Slowly she put her hands to the sides of her head and winced as she watched Alister and some woman fight off more soldiers.
Another female entered the tram and Dani recognized the pink-haired girl from earlier. Strawberry? That was an odd thing to call a person. She was human, not a strawberry. The tram doors shut, which brought Dani some relief. Hopefully they wouldn't have too much trouble getting out of there. The station shook again, which Daniella did not enjoy in the least. This whole situation was a disaster. A huge mess.

And it was all her fault.
Or, at least, it felt that way.

Cautiously, Dani tossed a glance to Christian. He sure was putting a lot on the line for her. He felt guilty, Dani knew that much. Perhaps he sought some form of 'redemption' by helping her.
The tram stopped, and Daniella took a moment to inspect the ship they'd be boarding. It was hardly anything fancy, and Christian would probably have something to say about that, but to Dani it was perfect. She couldn't care what the ship looked like as long as it could get her away from Kessel Station. The six of them boarded, and made it to the cockpit. Dani wanted to inspect everything out of sheer curiosity, but now was not the time. Instead she stuck close to Christian and hunkered down for the remainder of their escape. For a while, Dani doubted they would be able to leave. But eventually they were free, for the most part...

Dani glanced to Alister at the mention of food. Since her escape she had been somewhat of a glutton, wanting to try anything she could.
Rhia escorted them to the cargo hold, talking the whole way there. Daniella didn't really pay attention to her. She was more in awe of how quiet things were now that they weren't in the middle of a battle. It would be easier for her to control her abilities like this, and that was a huge relief to her. In the cargo hold, Dani distanced herself from the others to the best of her abilities. She leaned against the nearest wall and proceeded to look from person to person. Dani had blocked them out for now, but later she planned on doing a bit of information gathering on these folks. Dani needed to know who she could trust and who she couldn't...and there was already one person on her list.

The blonde looked over to William, the unknown man who had tried to steal her away before the fight broke out. He had claimed he wasn't taking her back to GenEx, but that meant he would be taking her somewhere. But where? And why? Who was he working for? These were things Daniella would try to figure out over time. For now he couldn't do much besides make her uneasy. Still looking at the blonde male, Dani linked to him momentarily. "Let's you and I get something straight. I do not trust you, and I do not want you near me. If you try to take me from here I promise you, I will not go easily." After that she looked away. Daniella definitely wasn't very menacing, but her inside voice did have a bit more bite to it than her actual voice.
She didn't respond to the question William had asked and instead crossed her arms and looked to the other two females in the hold...Dani didn't really have much experience with making friends, so hopefully things around here would go smoothly in that regard. If they could all at least get along that would be great...

As luck would have it, the group of people that Alexei ended up with on the tram were (mostly) capable of defending themselves. There seemed to be a shot of tension between the blonde-haired man, Alister Blood, and his female companion, but it was none of her business. She was just trying to get off the station. As the tram departed with help from the pink-haired woman, she scanned the area where Maiachev had been left behind. No heat signatures. He must have killed them all. But...that means he's dead too. Alexei felt her heart tighten--a feeling that surprised her. She had no fondness for Maiachev, that was for sure. He had introduced her to lotos, and had once beaten her when she was younger after a failed mission, but he also trusted her and provided her opportunities where others had snubbed her. Stockholm Syndrome, perhaps? Well, whatever. I would have left him anyway. I'm not dying while I'm still beholden to Lethe. No way in hell.

They arrived at Alister's ship, a dingy looking thing that was probably half the size of Charon, Lethe's own ship. Still, Alexei was glad to see a way of escape. She tightened her grip on the briefcase as they descended and met with a tough-looking woman who must have been Alister's second in command. The fighting was not over, however. The ship rolled and dodged through space as they ran from the Coalition forces. Alexei braced herself between two empty chairs on deck, gripping them so she wouldn't go flying every time the ship lurched in an unholy direction. Eventually, the ship jerked into FTL, and they left the station behind.

The group had ended up in the cargo bay. Alexei was quietly standing in the corner, remembering Alister's words. She had plenty of credits on her, but it would come directly from Lethe. They'd know where she was. After silence from Kessel, Milieux would send people looking for them--and if Alexei didn't return in a timely manner, she'd be a dead woman. Or worse. She heard the blonde man say something. "So does anyone have any idea where we're going?" He seemed vaguely calm for someone surrounded by people he had threatened nary a half-hour before. It was admirable, actually.

"No," she said. The pretty blonde woman's eyes were on her. Alexei didn't like the staring. She felt a longing behind those eyes, a need to connect to someone. Alexei could not oblige. She turned away, instead looking down at the briefcase. There was supposed to be a good supply of lotos in it, along with credits...and apparently something else, according to Maiachev. Focusing on the case, she tried to peer into it--and nothing happened. Confused, she pressed a button on her goggles. They sparked with life, and her eyes began to glow, but still, nothing happened. Sighing, she blinked, and the glow was gone. They had see-through-proofed the case. Clever.

A couple of the other people were whispering about the food they'd be provided. Alexei wasn't hungry. Instead, the longer she stood there, she began to crave something else. Her thoughts dissolved into a mist of want as she thought about the lotos just inches away from her fingers. Her face began to sweat a little and she let out a low breath. Her fingers drummed the sides of the case. Swallowing some excess saliva that had built up, Alexei pulled her e-cig out of her pocket and stuck it in her mouth, taking in the sweet smoke in an effort to calm herself down. She needed to get somewhere alone. Fast.

Merry it was to laugh there —

For power was on us as we slashed bones bare
Not to feel sickness or remorse of murder.

Christian was always lucky that he never had to see fighting in his life, at least nothing like this. Nothing where his life was in danger and he could of easily been shot as the next person. It made him nervous, he could feel himself shaking, but was doing his best to keep calm on the outside. He didn't need to show any weakness like that, not in front of people like this. He looked over at Alister as the man bargained with him. Assuring Dani's safety, but it would cost extra to keep himself safe.

"You get me anywhere alive and I will assure you a good payout, however if I die or anything like that. You'll never get your pay," bargaining was in his blood, he was raised to know money, business, and how to bargain. It was needed for someone who would run one of the leading businesses in the Dominion. "I'm sure my safety would be one of your top priorities, we'll talk actual pay once you get us somewhere safe," he would need funds transferred to his aliases, it was just a matter of who to trust with that task. He would have to contact his secretary, she was the most trustworthy source he had. Hopefully, she wouldn't ask too many questions or give any information to his father. That was the last thing he needed. He was going to have to deal with enough once he found out he was aiding Alister and Dani in escaping.

The traveling to Alister's ship was a mad blur. He barely could grasp what was going on. Voices were jumbled into each other and he just followed the crowded blindly. Trying his best to ignore the fighting and keep the oncoming panic attack tightly locked down. He couldn't appear weak, some would try to take advantage of that. The guards did their job though, bought enough time for them to make their escape and Alister would be right. It would be made to look like Alister took Christian hostage, it would buy the man more funds. Almost unlimited funds from his father who would want to see his only son returned safely.

The ship was almost exactly what he expected it to be. Alister was a wanted man, he wouldn't have something top of the line. No, it looked like a heap of junk to Christian, but inside told a very different story. No doubt it was the way the man lived and Christian would merely have to hold his tongue to any GenEx goods that he saw. At the moment he couldn't worry about anything that Alister might of stolen from them. Everyone's safety came first. Sitting down in one of the chairs, he closed his eyes during their escape. It was still just rolling by.

It wasn't until things calmed down and Alister spoke again, seeming to have enjoyed nearly being killed. Christian looked at the man and shook his head. "Its terribly fun nearly getting ourselves killed," he shook his head and stood from his seat and followed the group to the cargo hold.

Getting there he took a seat on one of the boxes and let out a hard sigh. "Where we are going hardly matters at this point as long as its somewhere safe. I'll leave that much to Mr. Blood," he looked towards Ben, the man that had tried to take Dani, offering her false promises of safety. He wouldn't say much to the man, but he didn't trust him. Hell, Christian didn't trust anyone with the exception of Dani at this point. No doubt that himself and her would be the best bargaining chips when it came to last resorts.

"This is all so ******** up, makes no sense that they would just attack like that. The Coalition has to be desperate, to send that many to get a few people...." Christian shook his head. That wasn't how politics worked. If they really wanted to arrest Alister and Dani, they wouldn't make it so public, they wouldn't put so many lives at stake. "They evacuated those that matters, important businessmen and their families, those with brilliant minds, and anyone else that proved to be useful. Everyone else on the station would be slaughtered....again something the Coalition wouldn't do out of the blue...." it was planned, it was part of a bigger picture...." the Dominion had control now and while the Coalition was trying to get back that control. It was hard to do, even more so when the Dominion had their own military. Christian shook his head. He still had to process everything. It was a lot to take in.

"At the moment I'm just relieved to have gotten out of their alive and unscathed," he ran a hand through his hair. "Even if I have no idea where we are going next," and he still had to contact his secretary. He would have to find another device where he couldn't be tracked. Once they landed he would use a public device, try to transfer some funds himself and see if Ms. Holbrook could get some more sent over. At the moment he had something that kept Alister happy, as long as he could pay the man, he had an upper hand on the situation.

"Still we will need a plan."

Kessel Station
The Outer Rim
Sol System
January 18, 2326
16:12 Galactic Standard Time

Fear aboard the Justice was at an all time high. Someone’s day was about to be ruined. The Persephone had only jumped to FTL moments ago, when Lieutenant Mikhail Devry approached the Admiral, who stood arms crossed, jaw clenched, staring out over his subordinates, waiting for the confirmation that his targets were in custody. “S...sir…” The Lieutenant managed to mumble, his very voice quivering, knowing that his next words were not going to improve his situation. Admiral Halloran slowly shifted his glance towards the Lieutenant, and practically smelled the fear coming off of him. He dropped his arms, one hand casually resting upon the holster of his pistol. “Report, Lieutenant.” He replied, in the calmest voice one could ever imagine. The command deck of the ship was dead silent, and while nobody dared to look, all ears were on the conversation. “We identified multiple ships exiting the station. One of them matched reports of Blood’s ship, Persephone.” This caused Halloran to smirk. Perhaps they had accidentally killed Blood? That would be glorious. Of course, the girl was worth a lot to certain people above him, but he was not very concerned with them at the moment...he was too enamored with the very notion of Alister Blood finally being dead. The Lieutenant noticed the look on Halloran’s face, and then tumbled further down the rabbit hole, with the bad news. “Several of our fighters were destroyed in the pursuit...and Blood escaped, jumping into FTL. We believe that Daniella Pearson, and several others, escaped with him aboard the ship.” From holster to smoking pistol took around two and a half seconds, and the gunshot rang out through the entire deck, blood splattering several monitors, and the now deceased form of Lieutenant Devry tumbling over the railing and collapsing in the midst of the command deck crew. The shot was placed right between his eyes, and blood began to pool on the deck. “Congratulations, Ensign Vern. You’ve just been promoted. Relieve your...predecessor, of his rank insignias, and take your post. And find me that god damned ship.” Elegantly, he slipped his pistol back in the holster, and stormed off the command deck, the large metal doors sliding closed behind him, the metal soaking up the silence that still permeated the deck.

The empty space around the CSS Justice was littered with the debris of shattered ships, and corpses gently floated through the endless void of space. Kessel Station, at a glance, seemed different...once the last bastion of absolute freedom in the system, now under control of the corporate Dominion. In his particular fashion, the Admiral had casualties in the battle that were identified as pirates and criminals hung throughout the station, as a testament to any who remained that he was not to be trifled with. The survivors of the attack had been rounded up, being marched around by the Dominion loyal soldiers, and corralled like cattle in captivity. The slums of Kessel Station became something of a prison. Phase One was complete, and on to Phase Two of the operation. Kessel Station was to be the Dominion’s frontier into the unknown abyss that lie beyond the system’s edges, just as those foul rebels did years ago. It would be armed with high tech defenses, remodeled as a military outpost, expanded with shipyards...and the priority would be the replication of the advanced warp core that was stolen from the Dominion, that had taken them half a century to recreate. The wonders of Alpha Centauri were within the Dominion’s grasp, as well as securing their hold over the Sol System. Kessel Station was only the first step in the Director’s plan to crush what remained of his opposition.

The rest of the battle group had formed a sort of defensive perimeter around the Justice, as a losses were being accounted for. A single shuttle exited from the Justice, and gently glided down from the behemoth of a ship, landing inside the station. A cadre of guards stepped out, followed by Admiral Halloran, a party assembled to meet him, pulling their arms into a sharp salute. He returned the gesture, and dismissed the men, except for his personal guard, and one of the receiving party, who seemed slightly important. “Admiral Halloran, sir, preparations are being made at once for a test launch into the unknown regions. The station took quite a bit of damage, but making it into a garrison shouldn’t be too much of a challenge for the men.” Admiral Halloran nodded, attempting to seem impressed with his subordinate’s gusto and enthusiasm. “Yes, yes, that is all very good. You are taking to your new position very...quickly, Magistrate. I would be careful in how enthusiastic you become. This...station, was once the bastion of pirate activity in the system. It is one of our crowning victories over their scum, the Children of Olympus...and of course, a show of our power and growing independence, for those who recognize the move for what it is.” The Magistrate smiled with a reply. The Overseers of Kessel Station were being held captive at the top of the main structure in the station, known as The Spire. The Magistrate held control of the station in the name of the Dominion, but had requested the personal pleasure of keeping the station’s old leaders as pets and torture toys. ”If I may, Admiral...if we’re already making moves against the Coalition, does that mean...we are close to their abolishment as a whole? I know there are some who see their suspension of power over the years as a temporary measure until the war is over…”

”That is high above your station, Magistrate, and don’t you forget it. The Board of Directors only put their hand where they need to, and know not to extend it too far until the time is right. Only know that you are here, now, and you have your mission, as do we all. My battle group shall remain in support of your operations until I see fit. In exchange, you will need to do something for me...Magistrate. I know you have a web of connections in some unsavory places. My men have uploaded images and security footage to your database. I need you to spread the word...whomever brings me Alister Blood, and his new charges, alive of course, will be one of the richest, most powerful men in the Dominion…I want a bounty so high, that even the fat, lazy, wealthy merchants of Titan will go bloodthirsty to catch him. I hope that is not too much to ask of you…” The Magistrate looked shocked at such an underestimation of his power. ”Consider it done, Admiral. You’ll have your little pirate, and his little friends.” Halloran grinned widely, as they passed through a large archway, a dozen corpses hanging from above. ”Glorious. I do hope Arcadia still has a cell open for him... Now, please, show me to my quarters...and do let the soldiers...unwind. Perhap let some of your more...enticing citizens man their entertainment establishments. Let the men have some fun...perhaps you saved a few women pirates, that need to be...properly disciplined? I’m sure my men would enjoy that.” The grin on the Magistrate’s face was most sinister, and he nodded, proceeding through the archway ahead of the Admiral, already scheming.

”Full scan of the ship complete, sir. Our shields are worn to their breaking point, and I’m having trouble maintaining a proper protective field. The engine damage was further exacerbated by your swift maneuvers, and needs to be repaired immediately. Fuel lines two and three have minor leaks in multiple sections. There are several minor hull breaches from high impact shots sustained during battle. All in all, we come out pretty well. The replacement parts should suffice for most of the damage, but we’ll need to pull into a port to perform the repairs. I won’t last much longer without them…” Alister sighed, and leaned back in his seat, as the image of the woman looked on disapprovingly. ”Captain Blood...you don’t seem too enamored with my assessment of the ship.” He casually spun his chair to face her, grinning, running a hand through his hair. ”Oh, come now, darlin’. You know I just get a little distracted by that pretty voice of yours. All this nonsense about damage, and repairs, and the fact that we’re probably all gonna get ******** spaced. Can’t you just enjoy the fact that we’re still alive for a couple ******** minutes. Set a course for Calypso. We should be safe there, among the asteroids...plus, you know, got a few friends who owe me a few favors. Should be able to get you patched up in no time, and possibly for cheap enough that the fare I charge this lot for safe passage will actually go towards...I don’t know...food. Maybe a bit of relaxation. We’re just running and running, until this ol’ girl falls apart…” He managed a weak smile, and it even struck the AI silent, before she sighed, and nodded. ”Setting a course for the asteroid station, Calypso. It’ll take a few hours. You should probably go get your ‘passengers’ settled in, Captain Blood.”

With a grunt, Alister rose to his feet, and before doing anything else, checked his weapons. It had just occurred to him in earnest that he didn’t trust any of these people aboard his ship...and it was possible, and likely, that he may have to kill one of them. The blonde was a paying customer, the rich boy was practically paving the space lanes with his credits, the pink haired woman killed a man with a wrench, glowy eyes seemed to be a bit...off, and then there was the last guy, whom Alister liked the least. Out of them all, he expected a bullet to the head or a knife in the heart from that last one...and so, with his customary swagger and boisterous attitude, he began his trek from the cockpit, and off towards the cargo hold. As he walked, the device on his wrist gave off a little beep, and he reached down, tapping the screen. He had received a message, encrypted, and the name was from one of his underworld contacts...one of the ones he had never met, but occasionally got anonymous tips from about certain Dominion activities. What he saw...almost felt like god damned Christmas. If he were any less of a hardened, blood thirsty psychopath, he probably would have gone ahead and skipped down the passageway, but he restrained himself to a slow walk. Damage from the battle, and other miscellaneous entanglements, were present and obvious all around him. He took those moments to reflect on his years since the military, and how far this old ship had taken him. Before he knew it, he was in the cargo hold, looking around at his new ‘passengers. Rhia was standing off in the corner, hand resting on her pistol, eyes locked on the assembly, ready to gun someone down. She was obviously not pleased.

”So, welcome aboard the Persephone. No welcome baskets or anything. She’s a bit worn out, but one of the most reliable Starcaster class light assault ships in the system. Now that we’re safely out of the clutches of Admiral Halloran and his goons, it’s time to negotiate payment. As far as I’m concerned, the only paying passengers right now are…” And he pointed at Daniella and Christian, ”The harmless little kitten and Junior Moneybags. With the promised ‘we were all about to die’ discount, it’ll be three thousand credits if you are satisfied with being dropped off at our first destination. Any further travel aboard the ship will cost more, obviously. I also charge room and board, so if you want somewhere to sleep that isn’t on a shitty cot in this cargo hold, and want to have some food to put in your stomach, we can negotiate the extra charges later. With a sizeable part of my crew dead, we have quite a few openings for rooms. Kitten and Junior, y’all get first pick, as you’ve already paid my fee. The rest of you can find a room, which dearest Rhia will ensure is supplied with all your basic amenities. Careful if you pick any of the odd numbered cabins...the hot water is very iffy ever since we had a pipe break. We will be having dinner in about half an hour, and each room is equipped with an information panel and intercom. Don’t expect anything fantastic either...though, I’ve been known to cook something good, once in a while, with what basic provisions we have.”

Alister crossed his arms, and looked over each one of them again, sizing them up. ”Our current destination is Calypso, a popular repair and refueling destination in the asteroid belt. It’s a bit of a less reputable place than, say, Kessel Station, so I would caution you if you choose it as your final destination. I know some of the big shots who run the place, or at least, they did last time I was there...things like that change hands. I also feel obligated to show you...this.” Tapping a few times on the wrist-screen, a holographic projection came up, a set of wanted posters appearing. The only ones with names were for Daniella, Alister, and Ben. The pictures displayed for Lorelei and Alexei were shoddily taken security shots, and while nameless, there was still a bounty, and a short list of crimes. Beneath Alister’s name, it merely said ‘crimes innumerable’, which almost made him jump with joy. ”I’m also apparently guilty for the kidnapping of the heir to the mighty GenEx Empire. Though, it could be worse. That might actually be the thing that keeps me alive for a little longer than expected. I think your daddy would pay quite a bit to have you back, safe and sound. Not that I’d plan on hurting you, Junior. You’re here willingly, especially after that stunt you pulled, and I respect that. I’ll also have a few guards outside your little friend’s door, in case anyone,” Alister casually glanced over at Ben, a grin plastered on his face, ”Wants to try anything clever. Once we get to Calypso, I’m getting the ship patched up. If you would prefer to terminate my services at that point, I can refer you to a few people. If not, we can decide on a destination that’s good for you, and an appropriate price. Until then, if you have any questions, feel free to either ask any crew members you see, or contact me on the intercom. There is a direct line, in case I’m not in the cockpit, or in my quarters. If you have any complaints, you may have to suck it up. If you find your quarters are not satisfactory, let me know.” He gave a little wink, seemingly in the direction of Alexei and Lorelei, before spinning around on his heel, and casually waving the group away. ”Remember, dinner soon...and after that, we should arrive on Calypso. We’re not going to dock immediately on arrival...got some security protocols and stuff to go through, so we’ll be spending a night on the ship. The rest will do you some good, after all this, trust me.”

A few hours had gone by, and Alister had showered, and changed into some simpler clothing, just some worn jeans, a pair of steel toed, black leather boots, and a wife beater. He spent quite a bit of time in his cabin, cleaning his weapons, and reading over various reports from news outlets, though nothing about the attack on Kessel broke though. His highly tattooed and scarred arms, neck, and part of his chest were visible, giving a bit more elaboration on the mystery that was probably the most infamous criminal in the Sol System. What made it even weirder, probably, was the fact that he stood in the kitchen-dining area of the ship, and was cooking. Most of the food came out of some gross, pre-prepared packs, sort of like MREs for the military, but with some creative thinking and spices that he helped smuggle between a few distant stations, a good meal it did make. It at least looked like they were eating steak, mashed potatoes, and some weird green bean type things. He had sent out a call that food had been prepared, and that they would be dropping out of FTL and orbiting Calypso in a little less than an hour. And now he stood in the kitchen, drinking some sort of bottled alcoholic beverage, enjoying some relaxation, which didn’t really happen that often.
