Cero watched the girl, his nonchalant face showing nothing. Dark hues just watching the girl as she screamed. For some odd reason humans always had this reaction to him. When he was alive, he vividly remembered people smiling at him and openly welcome him. But now, ever since he died, people usually just screamed at him. It had taken a few years to realize he was even dead then. Which was why he usually sang, because he thought he was still alive. He wondered around the city for years, trying to talk to people, to contact them. Before he had any control over his ghostly being. But when he finally realized he was dead, which was when he found his grave in the grave yard, plain and ordinary, he finally realized it. It was a wonder how he got a grave. As years passed, he waited for people to visit him. Family, friends, anyone who knew him. But no one ever came. He would sing, which scared off quite a few people, not that he had a bad voice. His voice was beautiful when he sung, deep and alluring. But the fact that he looked like a beautiful zombie didn't help him make friends with the living and he helped name the cemetery as haunted.
Year after year of waiting, the ghost wondered if anyone wanted to talk to him. He was a shy man, even alive. But his ugly yet beautiful appearance intimidated people. The air around him was always frigid too. The only thing he really could become acquainted with was with felines. They were oddly attracted to him.
If there was one thing Cero didn't know, it was how he looked.
As the child looked up at him, he tilted his head. "Cero." he breathed smoothly. His voice still as beautiful as when he used to sing. The small child looked interest and smiled at him. Was she human or a ghost? He was a ghost. Reaching towards her, his hand went right through her. Human? "Living?" He asked the small child, a small look of acceptance showing in his one hue. She reminded him of his baby sisters, not that he could really remember what they looked like. No one had ever visited his grave since his tragic death. When he died, no one really knew except for the tomb maker.
