Laurent had been eyeing it down all evening. Everything was out of focus-- flowing in slow motion because of how in tune he was with it. What it 'it?' Ah, that untouched bowl of grapes sitting in the table of course. Gods, he'd eaten so much already. He'd request so much extra food that it would just look especially shameful if he were to grab that bowl of grapes and hi tail it out of there. Why feel the guilt when he would just burn it off tomorrow while training? Yes, that's right! He would train it off. Was it because he was called out by the servant staff about his late night eating habits? Or perhaps it was because he was caught multiple times sneaking into the pantry looking for whatever would curve his hungry. The man's focused expression seemed to put off some of the servants. They knew what he wanted, but they failed to save him the shame by offering it to him. As a result the man reached out and slid the bowl close to where he could reach it easy. With a silent but significant sigh of shame, he plucked one of the small round and purple delectables and placed it in between his lips to chew.

His hands were folded over one another in his lap as he ate, and slowly his iris scanned to room to look at the other princes and princess that sat around him. They seemed to be finished eating. Why was he still hungry? Damn it. The servants made their way to exit of the dining hall and began to open the door in order for the princes and princesses to take their leave. Laurent hesitated to part with his seat, but as he got up, one of the servants on clean-up duty walked in front of him, close enough just to get his attention. In her hand was the bowl of fruits that he picked from earlier. Without an exchange of words, he took the bowl and gave a small tilt in his head of thanks. With a bow in return, the servant was off. No words could explain the happiness that he felt to have that bowl of grapes in his hands. Although his expression seemed stoic, in his mind he was smiling. Externally it didn't come out that way... it seemed like he was pursing his lips.

Laurent managed to finish off the entire bowl before he got back to his room. After mentally scolding himself for doing so, he noticed a piece of paper lodged between his door. He slid it carefully from the door then entered his room.

                                            ♛ ♛ ♛

He stared at the paper, bowl in hand still. He could use another grape honestly. Sure he was braced for the fact that he would be going through another marriage, but it didn't hit him until now? Who's responsibly would this woman be? Certainly not Laurent's. Excuse his train of thought. Quite the sour man he is. The man placed the bowl down then neatly folded the paper and placed it back in the envelope in the same manner in which it came in. Right about now, it would be custom for him to read a little, study up a little more on the Earth Kingdom language? Eat? His mind never stopped; not that he didn't want to stop thinking, but he couldn't. He was almost what people called "middle-aged" and he was no where near where he wanted to be. Hell, he was in a house full of people half his age, near to fresh out of the wound (to him), and to think he was to be married to one of them. Laurent ran a hand through his hair and sigh before letting his hand suddenly drop in frustration.

This thoughts were abruptly interrupted as he heard his door open. Ah it was just the servant from earlier. "Can I... help you?"
She shook her head in response. She spared the man another bowl of fruits, this time they were plums. Laurent raised a brow and took the bowl, examining it before looking back up to the servant. "To save you the late night trip back down to the kitchen, m'lord." Laurent shook his head once, slowly. "Ah," was all he said in response. The woman bowed then turned to take her leave. Laurent looked at the plums again then scratched the back of his head.

Yeah he was going to have to fix this eating habit.

"Thank you, but I'm quite full." Vika said softly to the servant who had just asked if she'd wished for anything more. The servant nodded and backed away, reaching to grab her plate in the process. The food had been delicious all around and Vika had had more than her fair share. So far, things weren't so terrible on this little political venture. Nothing too entirely startling had happened (that she knew of, at least), and she had yet to pass out even once! Something the servants were quite grateful for, she was sure. It was always frightening for them, she had been told once. Since Vika had such a nervous disposition and such a tendency to get anxious over the littlest of things, there was a slight risk of her fainting from time to time. The servants she had back home, in the Light Kingdom, where accustomed to it and, after so many years, had grown quite used to their princess swaying at even the slightest bit of conflict.

Even at the table, she felt as if she was being scrutinized; eyes on her everywhere, making sure nothing was to happen. Nothing would. She felt fine, for the most part. Being around new people usually set her off a bit, but this was something she had to do. Vika was willing to put up with whatever stress would come her way, for the sake of her people. She snuck a glance over to her brother. Laurent looked calm and cool as ever. She wished to speak with him, to get his take on things, but she knew it was to be futile. Laurent had always been that way. Any attempt at communication would be shot down swiftly and severely. However, that didn't stop Vika from trying every now and then. Over the years, she'd picked up on a few things from him. Like his eating habits. She could tell by the way he was eyeing the grapes that he wanted one. Normally, she wouldn't chuckled lightly to herself, but that was only at home, when they sat further apart. Tonight, they were side by side, as most kingdoms were. So she withheld.

The dinner ended soon after Vika watched her half brother pluck a single grape, then pilfer the entire bowl from the servant girl. She wanted to comment on it, but again, she withheld. Fear of rejection held her back, mostly because she was absolutely certain she would be rejected. So instead, she took the arm of one of the manservants and retreated back to her room. Upon opening the door, Vika noticed the small parchment nestled in it's cracks and retrieved it from the ground it had landed on. As she closed her door her eyes scanned it's contents. So this would be her groom then. She swallowed hard. The marriage was essential, she told herself. It was for the good of the Light Kingdom. People were suffering, dying. This would be the solution, the key to ending all of that. Still, even with that knowledge, her breath became quick and shallow. Her chest constricted, as if something large and heavy was pressing down against it. Another bout of nerves. Quickly, Vika retreated to her bed and lied down, focusing on her breathing. It helped that the bed was so soft. Even her own at home wasn't this nice. It was large and soft, simply swallowing her up when she laid upon it. The sheets and comforter were a deep, royal shade of purple, her favorite color, and the wooden posters were a deep mahogany, as was all the wood in the room. For being a room for the first princess of the light kingdom, the room seemed quite dark. But it was also warm and cozy, which pleased Vika.

Off to the side of the room was a large wardrobe, housing most of her gowns. Looking at it, Vika formed a plan in her mind. That always helped the nerves. Having a plan of action made her feel more in control. Once the princess felt like she could once again stand, she made her way to the wardrobe and shuffled through her options. The gown that she wore to dinner was of finer quality; something to impress the masses with. But now the silver-haired princess was after comfort, not style. It took a bit to unearth it, but when she did, Vika smiled. Her favorite dress! It was a deep purple color that fit her well and flared at her waist. It had only minimal stitching along the hems, and the sleeves billowed out at the shoulder, along for much freedom of movement. It took her several minutes to undo the corset of her current outfit on her own, but once she had, the rest of easy. Vika dressed quickly, slipped on a pair of black slippers, and slipped out her door, note in hand.

The hallway was dimly lit, given the late hour. But Vika was set on going through with her plan. Stepping out into the darkness, she looked around as she made her way down the corridor. Now, which was it to the library again?

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓
Daimon had chosen to remain in the library instead of following the rest of
the royals to dinner. It's not like he was being impolite, rather, he seldom ate dinner anyway.
Since the pressures of being the crowned prince brought about much work,
he never gave himself the luxury of eating with company. Not even back home.
In fact he never even ate any of his meals in the presence of
someone unless it was really necessary, like at a business meeting or the like.
But then, there would be times when one or two of his siblings would show
up at his studio, library, or bedroom just to remind him that it was time to eat
and consequently accompany him with chit-chat he never engaged in but would
attentively listen to.

At any rate, he was sucked in on the book he was reading.
The time to socialize with the others would eventually come,
as it was probably the plan of those mysterious elders. Yet, in the meantime Daimon remained
sitting on an elegant couch in one of the dark corners of the library with book in hand.
Curiously enough, he had filled the desk before him with a mountain
of books he found interesting. However, their second purpose
lied in covering his form to others and bring the appearance that
the library was alone and thus, save him from any unwanted interruptions.
In this dark corner, and under the shielded protection of the mountain of books
Daimon was reading. But with no light to speak off reaching him,
one would wonder how he was able to read. True to its name,
the Dark Kingdom was in fact darker than all the rest and although
daylight did existed in it, it wasn't as bright. Thus, many had developed
an extraordinary eyesight that enabled them to see clearly in the dark.
This was of course, more of a fact for prince Desmonte
who was born a pure blooded demon and had a
natural tendency to see better in the dark.

"Hellfire..." Daimon said, unaware that he
actually voiced one word from out of the constant monologue he was having within himself.
But whenever he read, he took anything with a grain of salt.
He always had a way to filter things, being careful in picking subjects
he thought were to be true.
Yet, out of the constant pull and push going on in his head
the letter he received at his door before he arrived at the library came back to mind.
The elders were easy to read, after all, being cooped out at such a place with
other royals could only mean a bit of matchmaking.
Daimon of course, found that idea laughable.
No royal in their right mind would want such an arrangement.
Specially the water wyverns. What with the whole preservation of blood
and what not. He wondered if they even harbored some kind
of deformity or psychological disease.
Having such thick blood had a way of messing with
genes after all.

But just as that thought came to mind, it went away just as fast.
Daimon had a very busy scheming mind, and
he wanted to be better prepared before he made his
presence well known throughout the place. So far, only a few had seen him
around but had remained distant upon sensing his overwhelming
dangerous aura. At times likes these,
Daimon preferred his solitude.

As he relieved himself of his uncomfortable evening wear and redressed himself in something more comfortable, he contemplated on going to library in order to continue where he left off on his previous visit. To anyone (especially his sister) resting and digesting while reading a book could sound appealing. Laurent didn't want to run the risk of having to pull out any insults or excuses out of his a** as to why he didn't want to converse in the case that he ran into one of his siblings while roaming the halls. He was getting older and yes holding so much hatred for his own kin was growing tiring, albeit he couldn't bring himself to forgive his father nor his god forsaken offspring. Laurent looked at the bowl, bare with but sad remains, small vines that once held delicious grapes. With a sigh he turned to the door and exited his room. Perhaps there wouldn't be a problem if he took the book back and read it in his room; he would just have to return it before daybreak. Although there is one hot headed servant who tended to blow a fuse whenever something was out of place. Ah, no matter.

The man took a few steps before adjusting the glasses on his nose and taking a look at his surroundings. Despite being here a week, he still hadn't got comfortable with the change in location. Normally when he left his room, the hall was bright, a clear straight path stretched ahead of him. The tiles on the floor shown bright in a diamond pattern, florescent in color and ever changing as he walked down the halls of the light kingdom castle. Here however, it was dark or dim rather. Laurent needed light, he functioned from the energy of the sun. It was like he was spoiled from it. Even at late now, there was vibrancy about the light kingdom castle. It heavily differentiated from the Victorian based manor here.

It wasn't that he wouldn't, but he couldn't notice his sibling walking on the other side the hall. It was a little more darker than he would have liked. If his sister felt anything the way Laurent did walking down a dimly lit hall, then she couldn't have noticed him either. Quickly, he turned the hall in the direction of the library. He always took this route. If he wasn't heading from his room, he would take the time to walk to the hall of his room en-route to the library and navigate himself from there. Call it a habit. Once Laurent grew accustomed to something, then it was concrete. Period. Call that a habit-- or maybe just old fashioned.

Once he was at the library, he edged in and looked around. Immediately Laurent furred at the brow. Why was everything so damn dark? That was something he was never getting used to. He muttered to himself, nothing important, simply whining about how there should be more lights dispersed around the manor. He blinked twice and began to float around the library. On the way to area where he (assumed to have) placed the book. Not like he had a sixth sense wherein he could sense another presence around him, so the man in the room with him was completely overlooked. It seemed common, almost expected of people to be able to know when someone was near. No. There was only so much Laurent could do, and having horse senses was not one of them. The house servants absolutely killed him with that nonsense; not to mention it made it really difficult to sneak around for food at night without being caught.

Laurent breathed through his nose lightly in frustration as he fumbled around for the book. "I could have sworn I..." His voice trailed off as he continued to search. Laurent then stopped as he heard the fidgeting of someone else. He raised his head and his ears perked up as he turned and scanned the room before stopping as he saw a tower of books. So he wasn't alone. Obviously the person reading in the dark and secluded corner wanted to be, so Laurent would have to make this quick-- and to be honestly there was nothing ominous about a stranger sitting in a corner veiled behind a pile of books. Absolutely nothing.

                                                        • Sitting at a bench by herself, Svaeti sit with a tranquil smile on her face as she looked at the fountain ahead of her. All around her were the tall, green walls of the hedges that formed the garden maze. In the week that she had spent in Aelea, she had found herself particularly attracted to the fountain found at the very heart of the hedge maze on the castle grounds. The water was particularly clean and she could sense it. It wouldn’t take long to purify it. That wasn’t the reason why she was constantly attracted to that spot though. The maze was one of the quieter spots even while the sun was circling overhead. If she had found herself overwhelmed, she could just duck out for a short time and refresh herself. Leaning backwards, the princess of the water kingdom directed her eyes up to the stars above, thinking quietly to herself.

The first week had been a weary one, but it was certainly an exciting one. Svaeti had never left her homeland and, aside from her adulthood “rebellion,” she had never left the capital city of her kingdom. The temple had always had healing that needed to be done. Her abilities had been needed to serve her ailing people. Thinking back on it now, she felt a little guilty for stepping down from her position at the temple. … … It couldn’t be helped. Her sudden need to travel the islands without notice… no one could understand her reason. She hardly understood it, herself. If she had stayed at the temple though, she might have sworn herself to the goddess. A sworn priestess couldn’t break her vows. She doubted that she would have become involved in this marital pact if that was the case. This was for the better. She could continue to watch over her precious siblings if that was the case. Besides…

Looking back down to her lap, the princess looked at the envelope sitting there. Her smile did not diminish as she observed the envelope, but neither did it grow. It had been the letter that had caused her to turn to the sanctuary of the hedge maze in the first place. The elders had left it in her door to be found after she had finished dinner. Within it held the arrangement that she had been destined for. She hadn’t been upset at the news that such an important letter held, but she hardly had the need for said destiny to come knocking on her door so soon. She was far more concerned about who would wed her siblings than what kind of man would attempt to lure her into his bed. Svaeti had no interest in the prince that was destined to take her hand. She would be more than compliant with the marriage, but she didn’t expect that she would remain with said man for long. Run away? Hardly. The princess had no intention of running away from her fate, but she knew that her own fate had a great deal more in store for her. Pushing back a bit of hair, the gesture highlighted her earring, which glimmered in the moonlight.

"You mustn’t believe that someone will come seeking my life so soon, do you?” came the good-humored voice as the woman looked back to the fountain, "Although… this is probably the best time to save my life for you. If anyone were to attack, they would be poor scoundrels. You wouldn’t have to hesitate as to which side your allegiance lies.” Though the woman seemed to be talking to the fountain, the person she was speaking to was not ahead of her. She couldn’t see him, but the princess was very in-tune with the water around her. She could feel the stranger in the air. Although her words indicated that she knew exactly who she was talking to, Svaeti didn't know who her mysterious partner was; she could only suspect. However, there were plenty of little hints that had been dropped since before the week had come that gave her probable cause.

xxxxx the hall - the library xx anxious xx laurent?

Their accommodations for this trip were superb. The rooms provided were tailored to fit each prince or princess's personal taste and preference. The meals were a mixture of foods from each kingdom, assuring that there was something for everyone. They had training grounds for the knights accompanying them, quarters for the servants and attendants, and wonderful groundsmen. The gardens could be smelled even from within the estate. Everything was provided for the royals' upmost comfort. And if something was missing, the servants were eager to provide as soon as they possibly could. However, it seemed apparent to Vika that the one thing overlooked by everyone planing this fabulous trip was an ample supply of wall sconces. Really, it was the only fault she'd seen this week. Travel outside of one's room was discouraged after sunset for the simple fact that one was just as likely to run into a wall than find their desired destination.

Dark as it was, Vika was unaware of Laurent until he was nearly on top of her. It was no surprise her brother didn't see her. Vika had been off in her own little world, trying to think of all the things she'd need to learn about the Dark Kingdom. The name of her betrothed rang in her head once more. Daimon Desmonte. Who was he? She couldn't recall having met him before. Though, that wasn't saying much. Vika's timidness has thus-far gotten the better of her this past week. There were still many people she'd yet to meet... Thoughts such as these were rattling around in her brain when her brother sauntered by. The poor princess had no idea he was there until the last second. He gave her such a fright that her elven powers took hold of her. Vika vanished from sight as Laurent walked past, only again becoming visible when he rounded the corner and she was able to glimpse his face.

Turning invisible would give most young children the chance to be unruly and cause all sorts of mayhem. Vika, on the other hand, did no such thing. She rarely turn invisible on purpose. Most of the time, that power only came to light when she was anxious or scared, and even then, it was accidental. She only ever became visible again once her nerves had calmed. Such a curse still plagued her to that day.

Perhaps Laurent knows where the library is... Vika thought to herself. He seemed to be in a hurry, though, to get to wherever he was going. Picking up her pace, she scurried after her brother. Hopefully the interaction wouldn't be so bad. She was well aware of how little he'd want to talk to her. But a simple question shouldn't really count as talking, should it? If all he did was point, she'd be happy! Turning the same corner as he, she followed him all the way until he disappeared into another room. Vika hesitated. What if he was looking for privacy? What if he was visiting someone? Quietly, she approached the door and listened. There was no sound of voices, just a singular pair of footsteps that were quickly fading away. Peeking inside, Vika smiled. The library!

Opening the door a little wider, the princess let herself in. It was still quite dark, though. Taking a deep breath, Vika felt a warm sensation fill her; soon, she began to glow softly. It was a dim light, but enough for her to see somewhat where she was going. With her luck, such darkness would have her running into shelf after shelf after shelf! Looking around a bit, she checked the shelf nearest to her. Now, time to find some Dark Kingdom books!

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓
He had read more than three quarters of the book until heavy footsteps
could be heard within the library. Looking up from
his heavy ancient looking book he was surprised to find Laurent roaming around.
And for the looks of it, was having a hard time finding a book in the darkness.
He suppressed a chuckle, feeling a bit of pity for his unrefined
human senses. He would often wonder how they were able to cope
with such restrictions, yet, he guessed that was why humans were rare in the first place.

Rising from the couch he was sitting in,
Daimon decided to surprise Laurent a bit by following him close behind.
Taking advantage of the darkness and dim lighting within the library
Daimon was able to successfully follow him around without being
noticed, yet. He couldn't guess why he felt the need to bother him
at the moment, but for the past week he had decided to give him some space.
Truth to be told, their first meeting at Aelea turned to be
a bit awkward. It was shocking to find themselves in the same place
after all the history they had in the past. And so, Daimon remained
as far removed as he could from Laurent's presence. But at present,
he couldn't help but tease him. In the end, they were all going to be stuck
in such place until gods knows what the elders decided to do next for them.
So Daimon reasoned that it wouldn't be so bad to speak
normally to him again, despite the conflicts that arouse between them.

He was thinking of a suitable subject to speak off
with Laurent that he failed to notice the young Light Princess
not far from them. Nevertheless, his wandering mind flipped
back to Laurent's feeble attempts at finding this
so called book. Which brought the question, why was
Laurent in the library in the first place...and at night?
Wasn't he usually assaulting the fridge at this hour?
So Daimon stood a couple of feet behind Laurent, arms crossed and hand
on chin as he observed him struggling to read the labels. To anyone else,
Daimon's face would had looked serious and intimidating since he looked quite focused on Laurent.
Yet, on the inside he was practically laughing in acknowledgment
of the first prince's undisturbed but difficult search.

An affair that was as dull as an old brown mare retired to a languid life in a field far away from society.

During the entire affair Alazne barely spoke to her fellow royals finding that her attention was more focused on listening. Nothing of interest caught her attention enough to join in with a conversation. Appearances needed to be maintained; however, and that was why Alazne was there. While she knew that her older siblings would be the ones looking out for her she felt it was only her right to look out for them. The end of dinner though, couldn't come fast enough. Slipping away from the rest of the royals she returned to her rooms opening and closing the door for her to sag upon. It wasn't until she moved away from her momentary support that the sound of crunching paper underfoot caught her attention.

Scooping the paper off of the ground, Azzy read the letter as she slipped out of her heels to sit upon her bed. Everything was alright until she noticed the name of her betrothed to be. Scowling she watched as the paper crumbled to ash upon her whim. A prince of the air kingdom; adorable. She was to marry a thief and a weakling; hardly the type of man that she would consider her equal. Disgust marred her features while her lime green gaze moved about the room that she was in. It was quaint and appropriate for what it was being used for. Nothing too extravagant and for that she was thankful.

Remaining in the black gown she had work down to dinner she slid back into her heels leaving her rooms. There was nothing she could do regarding the man that she was betrothed to, but what she could do was at least find something entertaining to occupy her time with. Night descended upon the land and rather than see it Azzy could sense it. Instead of leaving her green hair unbound as it had been at dinner, Alazne braided it quickly containing the wavy masses halfway down her back. Logically it would make sense for her to seek out her husband to be and attempt to learn more about his kingdom, but at the moment she wished to avoid him. She still needed to wrap her mind around the news.

Without a destination in mind Alazne found herself standing in front of the library doors frowning intensely. "Why," she whispered softly questioning her own sanity at the moment. She was not in the mood to meet her betrothed so instead her feet brought her to the library for research. Alazne made a face, but perhaps after finding a book regarding her betrothed her feet woud be able to lead her somewhere else that was of more interest. Perhaps the music room...

The door was barely open when Alazne's gaze latched onto the glowing female off to her right hunting through the bookshelves. Apparently in this castle she was not the only one who wished to find a book to occupy her attention. Alazne could not repress the sigh that escaped her lips. It just had to be a light princess; a princess of a kingdom that was up there with the air kingdom and the water kingdom. If she ignored her then she suspected the other female would do the same. One more step and Azzy knew there were more people lurking within the looming darkness. As for who, only one of them was familiar to her with his heavy footsteps. Footsteps she had unconsciously memorized from their time on the battlefield. It did not take her long to espy Daimon stalking after another prince having used her dragon like eyes to peer through the darkness with ease.

"It is not nice to sneak up on people Daimon," Alazne spoke softly, but she knew the man heard her as she passed by the pair. A greeting was not spoken and she didn't bother to linger. There was one goal on her mind. Book then something else. Anything else. There were too many people within this library already.

Kesari was exhausted and it was only the first week here. She supposed it would get better when she found out who she was to marry and who her siblings were supposed to marry. Until then though she had contented herself with making her room feel as much like her one at home as possible. It had been decorated in her favorite colors, with the softest sheets and blankets and a ton of pillows. It had taken her the first two days there to get it perfect but at least it provided a small amount of comfort when she was feeling extremely homesick.

Like now.

Dinner hadn't all that bad though it was an extremely tense affair. She wasn't surprised when her younger sister remained quiet during the meal and hurried off to her room shortly after. Kesari decided to leave her be for now, figuring her sister needed some space to sort things out. Frankly Kesari would have been much happier at home where she could start the process of getting her kingdom back on its feet. She was still furious with her father for sending her here but there wasn't anything she could do about it now. She'd been here a week, mostly keeping to herself outside of checking on her siblings. It was during this time that she'd discovered the rose garden within the main garden. Roses were her favorite flowers so after discovering the garden she'd been coming out in the evening after dinner with the book she was currently reading. She was there now, in the little corner she'd discovered but the book wasn't holding her attention. Her mind kept going to back to the envelope she'd found in her room when she'd gone to read her book. She had set it on her desk, unopened as a sudden panic had seized her. She didn't want to open it so she'd fled to the garden to calm herself down before reading it. The thing was ...

She didn't want to read it.

She didn't want to find out who she was betrothed too. She wanted this all to be a bad dream that she would wake up from soon. Rationally she knew it wasn't a dream and that this was happening. She let out a soft sigh as she closed her book and rubbed her temple. It was all lovely here but she wanted to be home. At least her siblings being here made it bearable. She shook her head sharply.

'You're being ridiculous and childish. This is a perfectly good opportunity to help your kingdom so don't waste it.' she silently scolded herself as she glanced up at the roses near her seat. She wished she could take a vase of them into her room but she was loathe to pick them and destroy the magnificent flowers. She was glad that she was alone and had a moment to collect her thoughts. She ought to go open that envelope and see who her betrothed was but she wasn't feeling up to it just yet. She'd open it before she went to bed tonight. She was enjoying the lovely garden. Even the gardeners being there didn't bother her at all. She liked the peacefulness of it. Considering where she came from this was like an oasis for her and she realized that she wanted to have a garden wherever she ended up. She reclined, resting against the back of the bench. She would have liked to stay here forever but that was a childish fantasy. Green eyes slipped closed as a small smile tugged at her lips. Yes it would have been lovely to just remain here for the rest of her life. She sighed and groaned laying down on the bench and throwing her arm over her eyes. She wished she could talk to her mother but she was grown now she ought to be able to handle this.

'I can handle this. I just have to learn who I am betrothed too and get to know him. It may not start out as love but surely we can learn to tolerate each other.' she thought as she sat up and picked up her book again. She wanted to get another chapter in before it got too dark. She was sure that the servants would make sure she got in before it got too late.
