Night had come to the bustling metropolis known as Destinova. It was not as if those society no longer card about crawling around the slums known as The Gutters could see the light from the sun anyway. With the Saint'ven floating in the sky, it sometimes robbed the metropolis of it's sun light as well. That only made this forgot dump ever darker then it needed to be.

Stepping out of a store with a pack of sour candy noodles, a young man with glowing cyan hair that had pink streak at the front stood. Standing a little out the way of the costumers coming and going and out the middle of the street walking path as not to bump into any of the bad crowd. This young man that went by the name Rebound started to walk. One hand in his pocket counting the allowance he earned from his daily duty of running errands.

He was saving the funds for something special to get in the future. Perhaps buy a bigger place to stay in as oppose to the run down shop house he was currently living in. Looking up at the upper levels of the city where the moonlight did reach. Rebound began to walk faster pushing pass all kinds of humanoid creatures just to get to a large pillar that supported the roads above. He start to climb since the stairs were either guarded by Babylight making sure scum didn't drag illegal goods up, or the good for nothings that believed to be running the streets gathered. Sometimes both were at the stairs, Rebound knew from the street ears that sometimes deals were made. But if it was anything the old Bird Painter taught him, it was that you should never stop aiming to reach new heights.

As he climbed up stone and support boards, he take a look back to see the road below further away from where he currently was. Finally reaching the top, Rebound pulled himself up onto a statue, looking at the moon peaking through the clouds. He thought to himself how he'd like to relocate "I'd like to visit Nofu Town again. But I haven't seen the painter since he left long ago." stuffing his face full of candy, 'Hmmm. I can get there myself, since all my errands are done. Buuttt...' turning his head to a poster that advertised Des Arena. He sit and think about it, that was two places he'd like to go to for his own reasons.

Ҭhe air was dark, grimy, and saturated with hate. The night sky brimmed with darkness and with it, the stench of the weak and feeble pondering about the belly of Destinova. The Gutters, a truly low place to live, yet full of life in the view of those who seek it. Bustling with the noise of its people, yelling, screaming, slightly whispering secrets and fears. There would be no better place for one to disappear if one sought it, or to make one vanish completely. A place for those who dwell in the darkness. A place for a hunter. A monster. Someone who strived to be surrounded by life, only to take it in an instant without blinking. "Be wary of the shadows." they would speak. People often disappear with no trace of where they are to be found. Some cases, a rotting corpse.

Ӈe could feel the air begin to thin. His body straining as the night continued. He walked close to the shadows, never revealing his true face. Cloaked by a hood and to stray for wary eyes, he scanned the area. The feel of his own blood, boiling inside his own skin. His stomach growling, hands trembling. How long has it been since he last fed? A day? Maybe two? He could no longer keep track of the days that slipped by. The only thing he could think of the the taste of warm flesh. The sound of a human's heartbeat as it thrilled his mind to ravage their bodies apart. It wasn't just about feeding on them. No. It was about the joy of seeing fear in their eyes as you hold their life in your hands. The pleading in their eyes as you stare down at them, seeing the reflection of the monster you can't deny in the moment. Vox stopped near the corner of a closed down shop. Hand resting on a boarded up window, he leaned down to catch his breath. To find your prey in a city of watchful eyes, hunting was not as easy when you refuse to go without food for no more than a day. Your body weakens, becomes frail, and your true colors begin to show. He gazed upon the flickering lights of a bar without people entering and quickly exiting to their home. When you hit rock bottom, you can drink yourself away into a sweet bliss. The easy prey... He waited, watching closely. Wanting to find the perfect one.....

"AAAAAHHHH!!"

Sitting there thinking on what to do, there was a commotion going on down the street just a little ways from where Rebound had been sitting. "OUT OF THE WAY YOU WINCH!" What looked to be a woman carrying a baby had been pushed by an obsessed elf. "There's something you don't see everyday." referring to the elf that let themselves go. "Only in Destinova I guess." hoping down from the statue he had been sitting on. He watched as the Elfman was about to strike the goblin lady? "This just seems backwards." with a shrug, he couldn't just sit by and watch though it happens a lot. It was just only so much one could tolerate. And Rebound was one of those that couldn't sit back no matter who nor how backwards a situation might seem.

"Here I Go!"

He yell taking off down the road with a great leap like a deer. His right hand landing on the head of the offender with his left knee driving into the ear of this pig of an elf. BAM! The elf man's eyes rolling in the back of his head as he wobbled and fell on his side. Landing on his feet Rebound dusted his hands off, "Sorry thought you were a beach ball." turning to the goblin woman and her child, Rebound extending his hand to help the woman up. Her clothing was raggedy with patches in it, just showing the life down here. "Thank you." she responded taking his hand to get to her feet. Once she was up Rebound turned to the elf man who was foaming at the mouth, "Hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm." he hummed checking the guys pockets and taking what riches he had to spare. Putting it in a pouch along with the money he had in his own pocket, he toss it over his shoulder to the woman's feet.

"I was going to save that to participate in the Des Arena Games. But you and your child look like you could use it more."

Rebound wasn't all that selfish, well at least when at kid was involved. Had it just been the woman she might of been s**t out of luck since the save was enough. "Should get going before the Babylight or city authorities arrive." With hands behind his head he started off down the road.

Ҭhe sounds of screams and gasps could not evade his ears. His senses heightened at the peak of starvation. If filled him with the thrill of the hunt. The memories of those he could capture with ease that no mere normal looking human could comprehend. Only a monster with this malevolence could understand that kind of satisfaction of being higher up on the food chain. Vox reared his head around from the bar to a commotion not far from the bar. He made his way, slowly and feebly to conserve energy, to the commotion underway. By the time he had reached the scene, a man had just been leaving the scene. He could tell from the area. The evidence left by another person's energy. There was a brief brawl. But only one person caused the damage. The air was unsettled by that of a warrior. A man, Elf, looked troubled. He seemed to be the one who took the brunt of the attack. The citizens did not look that troubled anymore except for one lady and her crying baby. The aura trailed with her. A contact. Vox could view everything without seeing anything. You leave evidence of your existence wherever you go.

Ӈe looked at the fumbling Elf creature. He took one blow and that was all he needed to show his true weakness. Only those with the will to live will find solace in doing whatever they must to survive down here in the Gutters. This man was clear evidence. But he lost his chance. Vox waited for him to clear the scene. To simply step nears the shadows. Not a whisper. Not a faint sound or plea for help would escape his mouth by the time it started. He watched him turn around a corner, holding the side of his head before a shadow and blur snatched him from the scene, as though he was never there. The man was pinned to a wall in the alleyway with a hand covering his mouth. He gripped Vox's arm, trying to break free of his hold, but to no avail. The man peered into the eyes of his capture, the yellow hue of the iris beaming with intensity. Vox's teeth were becoming serrated, sharp as steel. His breath was heavy and eyes wide with anticipation. This is it..... The moment before the kill. To know what power you hold in your hand and who's life is in it. The sheer will and force they cannot comprehend and they feel their life flashing before their eyes. The brink of tears, the plead. To peer deep into their gaze and see their humility that screams, I am weak, fraile, powerless to you. Please, I beg. Do not do this. But that will of theirs does not reach the heart of a true hunter. Not a monster.... Vox instantly bit into the Elf's neck and ripped the neck in half, tearing the flesh and partial spine into his mouth as he chewed. To eat and see the frozen glare of utter fear as your life was over. the pain....utter darkness of this world. He continued to devour the creature, piece by piece, taking his time and enjoy the taste of the flesh as his body started to energize itself again to its full potential. No matter how hard he would fight it before, he could not resist the calling of the feed.

His walk continued, hand lifting to the back of his neck as though something were off. Just a gut feeling one might get when storms are rolling. Rebound turned his attention back to the idea of entering the Arena games. Living the life of fighting monsters and fierce opponents all for the glory, to be a champion or rather to be a hero that sheds light on this city. That poor woman and child caused Rebound to reminisce on his past, some of it was fuzzy do the age he was at the time. But being put to work the streets day in and day out, the kids being gawked at by scum like that elf he knocked out a while ago, or perverts that got off by seeing children suffer.

And from there fighting his way through life in the Gutter as though he was nothing more then a rat. At any moment his life could of ended but there was that drive to survive, those with power seemed to get by just fine. He could be the next guy ending up in prison, though he'd get to fight in the Arena games. It wouldn't be the same since he'd once again have to fight for his freedom, being constantly told what to do and having rights stripped from you. Suffering for others enjoyments. That was different then just signing up for the games with your own will.

"I'll get there someday."

He could hear the cheers now, and the reward money would go into him moving on the other side of town in the Nofu district where it's more peaceful. Something was still bothering him, but he couldn't put his finger on it. "Shouldn't of given that woman all my money... That elf was eaten good his funds were more then enough." He sigh a little bit regretting his kind spirit.

Ҭhe feeding was completed, with barely and flesh and bone left on the carcass to try and tell who the creature was without an official. Vox wiped his mouth clean with a rag from inside his coat. His eyes reverted back to the red hue they were once before. His face no longer pale and convulsing with pain or hunger. This beast was satisfied for another day. The hunger satiated. He grabbed the bones and limps that were left and tossed them into the bottom of an overflowing garbage bin. The city was sure to pick through, but the odds were more favorable if it wasn't this pile. The city itself, with anyone looking for a monster. He didn't need to draw attention to himself when it was not needed.

Ӈe tightened his cloak around him and his face. To feel the watchful eyes of every beggar and lowlife descend on him. The face he wore. The face that he did not recognize. To keep himself hidden in the lurking depths of the city and everyone's mind to avoid confrontation. He knew his strength. His ferocity. It would only draw attention to himself and conflict. he needed to abide his time as he searched through the city for answers. Something to give him details on who he was or what he is. The city was great for information. Shadow brokers, rats, the drunkards who care to listen on heavy banter in the bars. Someone who had sufficient skills on creatures from other lands or great magic might have the answers. But the past few years have proved futile. He needed to step his game up. If there was nothing in the depths below, the only answer was to look up. The grand city above. Where the riches and the noble. The hierarchy of it all. Vox looked down as he saw a drunk, weary with drink and not a coin to spare. The man held a small flask, barely able to hold himself together. Vox stumbled and swiped the man's drink, taking it for himself. The alcohol could help lengthen the need to feed, but only for mere hours. But, drinking itself brought him some kind of joy through its slight buzz to uplift his gloomy mood. But it wasn't much. Only to forget what he had recently done. To drown out the misery and pain.

A flurry of cards falling out the sky into an ally way and out on to the street. Blowing in a whirl the cards began to stack up on one another making a card structure in the form of a man. "Achoo~!" a male voice came from the card statue causing the mold to fall apart. Standing in it's place stood now a man in a business suit, with a cane, a hat, and bright gray eyes. "Hmm~?! I've seem to have landed." tapping his cane on the road, he twirl it around in hand as he began to walk. The cards had turned into snow which melted soon afterwards. Taking a deep breath of the air,

"The night she is splendid! But not as splendid as I."

Opening his arms out wide, he grinned wide looking up toward the sky. Bringing his arms back together, he tilt his hat down over his eyes and started walking drunk. "If I hadn't over slept, the show would have started much sooner~. But the star is here now lets have a little fun." pulling his hat off his head. With a bow, the man extended his hat turning it upside down. He stood still as if expecting something to happen only to be met by a long awkward silence.

"........."

Shaking his hat ferociously "Come on come on, I don't have all day. No point in getting stage fright now." patting the back of the hat. POP. A large hairball fell from the hat, with that the man put his hat back on his head and stood straight up. The hairball unfolding into a large beast that resembled more animals then one. A fog starting up on the street with a gold limo that had gears for wheels and crystals sticking on the rims allowing it to float. Pulled up by the man, doors opening up to welcome him in. "Now you play nice and don't break all these toys. I've got a performance I must attend, so knock yourself out." slipping into the magic vehicle. The man left the beast behind:

On the ground lay a man scared and breathing heavily. Near him the body of a younger male whose blood painted the floor and brick like walls of the building next to them. As odd as this may be there were people walking by casually but the banner the man standing over these two wore let them know not to interfere. He was a man of the Babylight organization and had made a rather horrible name for himself as a murderer in the eyes of many for there was no crime no matter how small that he did not see punishable by death.

So the young man on the ground was backing up and leaning over the body trying to pull what Shift could only guess as his younger brother closer to him.

"Why are you doing this? It was just a few scraps of change. We needed it! We needed it to pay our last bit of rent! Don't you get it!? We'd be in the slums if we didn't get this money!"

The tall male looking through the mask that resemebled a skull let the bright yellow of the eye slits glow as he stared down at the one talking. "You don't understand. That darkness in you that made you want to take from someone else just to gain favor in your own life. It would grow, and when it did it would go from small scraps of change to something else. Murder, maybe rape. I don't know, and I don't care to know. That darkness must be muffled. No good seed can be left to grow once it's tainted."

Shift reached out in front of him and slowly gripped the air. No sound was made but a golden dagger formed out of what appeared to be nothing in his palm. The man on the ground cried loudly begging for someone to help him. It was the same dagger that killed the other boy near him, the boy he was now clutching to his chest tightly. "There will be no mercy given, and you would do better to cling to what is left of the goodness inside of you." In a quick motion the dagger ran through the young man's throat but nothing happened, the boy did not even feel anything. Shift stood straight up and began to walk away.

"....I'll remember your face! I'll find you, and I'll Killl you for what you've do-"

The dagger in Shift's hand vanished and blood began to rush down from the man's throat causing his head to jerk back violently as the impact finally caught up to the present time. "No mercy for the weak." Narrowing his eyes he walked deeper into the Metropolis constantly looking to see if yet another fool would tempt justice.

βlood. Anxiety. Fear. Death. it filled the air. It filled his senses. Recently fed, his senses were heightened and he could focus on the life around him. Further feed his monstrosity. Feel the life, the people, the energy. The chaos thrilled the beast inside. Seeking for the power. His eyes faded to a greyish hue, viewing the dark, empty wasteland of material and gleaming life force of others around the city for miles to come. Only faint whispers as they furthered, but enough to see two snuffed from existence. Fresh meat for the taking without having to do the killing himself. It wasn't everyday he could find such an opportunity but thankfully one that might be available without witnesses.

Ӈe lunged to the top of a building with ease. almost a blur. the speed and strength of a Yoma giving him the adapt powers to hunt like a beast and move in the shadows like a stalker. He started running, hopping from building to building without making a noise and concealing himself within the cloak. By the time he was closing in on his target, eh noticed he was into the Metropolis. A place Vox rarely ventured into unless searching for more clues. It was harder to hunt with more prying eyes but when easy targets like this arise, it was hard to pass up. He reached the alleyway where two bodies where laying, bloodied and void of any life. The smell of the blood fumigated the air around him, his eyes creating the yellow hue like before. Someone made this a quick job. Thugs usually make it messing. A clean cut to the chest, stomach. A brawl even. But there were no signs of blood that would give off the hint of a struggle. Vox scanned the area. They had not been dead long which means the target might be close by. Maybe one of the officials were here.... Vox was not as familiar with the officials as he never approached one. There was never a need. If one to ever spot him and get away, it would create an issue if he were caught in the act. He kneeled down and began inspecting the wounds. The smell of the flesh and blood was intoxicating, but having recently fed, he was able to satiate his blood thirst and control it for now. Young.... They don't seem to have struggled. Maybe an ambush. Vox believed in giving someone at least a chance to defend themselves, even struggle through their grasp if they could muster the strength. He tried to hold onto whatever humanity and honor he had left inside of him.

Inside the Dwarven tech limo the mysterious man waved by to the beast he pulled from his hat. "Your on your own from here." leaving the creature unsupervised. Turning in his seat left hand raising to his chin, rubbing it "I didn't even ask it for a name. I'll call it Fido." Snapping his fingers. "Yes Fido is a classy cliche!" reaching into his suit he pulled a wine glass from it with sweet wine already poured and started to drink. It was good to be back in town after doing a little touring.

"Hmm. I'm starting to wonder where the rabbit in my hat went."

Drifting off on thought, his eyes looking out the window at the floating Saint'ven, with a trigger finger gesture. "Pew pew. Saint'ven went falling down, falling down, falling down." He sang. "Saint'ven went falling down, on all of Destinova~." he grinned a little "And when that happens you all will see, the true meaning of equality." turning his head away from the window. He looked to his driver which resembled Frankenstein, then down at his glass.

"Let us go out and share my products and services with others!"

Faster the limo moved deeper into the city.

The Chimera left behind by the odd stranger had no real sense of logic, only that of instincts. With the sudden environment around it the first reaction was to follow it's nose. It's got head, yet wild cat fangs snarled. Right paw swinging into a window shattering the glass. The creature let out a howl and started down an ally way in a specific direction.

Following a scent trail of blood, reacting off it's stomach it rammed through dumpsters and civilians that weren't fast enough to get out the way. A serpent tail snatching up a homeless man, squeezing the life out of him. The gaping mouth opening with corrosive saliva falling on the mans skin causing it to bubble. And like that the serpent tail of the chimera beast devoured the homeless man swallowing him whole as the primary body continued on it's path to it's destination.

Ѵox reared his head upwards as he could hear the very distant disruption in the Metropolis. The faint screams and the sounds of a thunderous boom throughout the city. It sounded like chaos. Whenever there is Chaos, something dangerous and destructive was in the way. Destruction meant possible deaths. But Vox has yet to see anything in the city to cause the amount of Chaos through his own vision. He couldn't get a glimpse of it. The aura from his distant, the energy, seemed off. It was like...something concealed it or it was unnatural. He looked down at the bodies and back at the beast deep in the city. He knew that if he didn't take this opportunity to seek what this creature was, he might regret it.

t didn't take Vox long to reach the rampaging beast. He had the strength and speed to move as he could normally from the feeding before and without it, he may not have dared to venture forth to see the commotion. He hid in the shadows of a towering but old building that was better off demolished. He watched as there had been a form of creature, like a mixture between others. A snake...some manner of beast. I feel like I have read of these creatures before... he watch as it devoured a human with ease. His eyes went wide. It eats humans as well. A frenzy....a blood frenzy.... Vox simply watched as it raged on. He felt as though there was a similarity between the two.

Hands extended above his head, Rebound chose to go out to Nofu town given he didn't want to miss the moons reflection on the bay out there. The route he chose he could pass the Arena along the way, since he'd have to cross through Downtown to get there. The further away from The Gutters he got the more he saw Babylight, but not as many only certain spots stationed around. He never really understood those men and woman, just that they stayed up in the sky like some kind of valkyrie or angels, not that Rebound understood much of that either.

He did wonder what it was like up there and how something so big stayed a float. In his thoughts a limo of some kind of clock works drove pass him neither noticed each other. Turning his attention back to the roads before him, he came to a stop. Standing next to a huge slug person with an umbrella on his right and on his left what looked like a T-rex but way smaller then him in comparison. With the path clear to cross, Rebound got closer and closer to his destination. An aircraft that looked like a large gray boat flew over head, heading in the direction of of the Arena.

"Oooh~. That must be the beast transport shipment. I'd like to pilot one of those bet it's uber ace."

His term for super cool, though seeing that only meant he was drawing closer and closer to his first destination. The closer he got the faster his feet started to move with excitement. "Glory here I come!" though he completely forgot he didn't have any money on him to get in or at least get a seat to see. But there were always other options to catching a showing, if growing up in a slum taught him one thing, it was 'There is always another way.'

The creature that went after the spoils of justice was free of his attention simply because he felt no need to look back. When things are done in the name of justice second guessing does not happen. The people around him as he walked did not reciee the luxury of a second thought either. They were all just festering immorality waiting to bubble to the surface. No better than he once was with her, that old partner till left a poison on his mind that made it dark, very dark in fact it's a wonder that he himself was not evil. Now he wanted nothing but justice in it's most brutal form

See humans are a disease upon this world, and he was part of it. However he was a part that would remove the rest slowly but surely . One could surmise that it was perspect and maybe Shift was evil after all but he wouldnt care about these petty ideals. Instead he would move on and move foroward in his darkened life bringing justice to whomever and wherever he could. Until that was no longer possible that would be the reason for his life in this blistering playground of disgust humans named earth. A place they so easily destroyed and not out of a need but out of a want and convienence.

Enter the this metropolis for the first time her eyes study's everything that it can see, there is to much for her to take in as its the first time she seen so many people in one area. She can see a few people giving her odd looks and such but she keeps silent as she walks into the city. She has her guard up as she's not to sure what to be expecting. She was still trying to figure out who she was meet to be use by. Until she discover this she trusted none and would kill any that tried anything funny with her. Slowly moving she could see herself growing to hate this place. She prefer the open areas but this place had none. She might have chosen wrong by coming here.

Her weapons at her side and with her golden chain locket hanging from were it rest. She would grab it and open it to look at the time to see it. She wasn't in any rush but she didn't wish to waste to much time in this place she rather go back to where she came from and see if once again anyone would show up. As it was people had seem to notices her there and always seem to be after her trying to make her their tool when she clearly was meet for someone else. The Maid of None was seem to be a cold person but in truth she was searching for the one she was meet to server. She had no clue why she felt disgusted with that thought maybe it has to deal with how she was train. The Sweeping Maid had told her before she left that she would meet once again and finish the training they had started. She couldn't figure how she would live through that battle after all the mansion was fully lost.

She just sigh as she keeps walking studying everything she could in sight and scanning for any threats that may appear before her. Things in this city seem in turmoil and that was putting it lightly. She could see that this city should of fallen ages ago but it appear it was not willing to die at all... maybe she could help kill it off, but that wasn't her goal unless it was the wish of the one she was meet to serve. She would have to wait and see if such person was in this city.
