The sound of a sudden laugh rang out, and if it hadn't been for the icicle stuck on her tongue, Nina would have been laughing, too. Laughter was infectious after all! Even if she didn't understand what it was that the prince was laughing about. It didn't matter. She liked laughing, especially with others.

When Cassian moved to assist her in getting the ice into her mouth, Nina stayed still and let him assist her, trying to keep her smile tied down.
He promised her she could go out later - or another day - and Nina nodded. She'd have to explore more if she was meant to be marrying into the family.
Speaking of which, it hadn't occurred to her to think that perhaps it was her brother in law or husband to be that she was speaking to. It sailed right over her head, and stayed there as she leaned back on her heels, finally feeling the warmth of her mouth start to dissolve the ice in her mouth.
"What ith there to do 'ere?" she asked, ambling and dawdling as usual. She didn't exactly want to go inside yet, and inside was lonely. That, and she knew the minute she got into the room she was assigned that she'd probably be made to prepare for the ball. Heels and dresses without trousers underneath... ugh, what a nightmare!
"You don't 'appen to 'ave any thnaketh, do you?" Had her mother been present, her face would have been beet red for Nina's affinity with the creatures. "I brought my thnake, but my mother thaid I wathen't allowed to bring 'im-" she adjusted the ice in her mouth, feeling it detach, finally, before taking it out of her mouth to inspect it, "in the carriage. Silly, isn't it? She thought he'd make a bad impression, but he's really quite harmless and very sweet. I hope he makes it alright. Poor thing doesn't like being alone, you know. I bet he's all alone and cold in a crate somewhere in the entourage with my sister and brother." She took another lick of the icicle, blessedly warm enough not to stick to her tongue this time. "Are you staying outside? Aren't you chilly?" Nina looked Cassian up and down, tilting her head to the side. "Your nose is going to fall off. Your bride might not like that. Then again I suppose it would make kissing easier... or so I'm told. Noses get in the way."

She had tried to stifle a laugh. He didn’t understand what was so funny. She had asked about whether he would be thrilled if his sister had been escorted by Lucas this evening. But it still brought nothing to his alarm. What did it matter to him who took her to the party? Maybe if someone did take her to the party then she would have reason not to scream for a while. ’It would not bother me if she was to be escorted by Lucas. Neasa is a grown woman, and can choose her own suitors. Besides, if he did choose to escort her, maybe she would be quiet for once in her life. She shrieks that one does, when she is unhappy.’ He had said the last part more under his breath and to himself then he had to her. ’ No need to apologize, Mi’lady. This place will be glad to see someone other than me, researching wine all the time. I am just please you like it here,’ he said as he wondered off to find that wine that he knew he left here. Sure enough he had found it but the window on the little table between the chairs. The glasses that were with it, were even clean! He picked up the bottle and the glasses, heading back towards where he had left the princess.

’Now, I am unsure what you drink at home. But you may find this to be a little strong, and a little bitter. There will be a sweeter, more delectable version at the party tonight,’ he said softly as he put the glasses down, gently pouring some wine into both glasses. The liquid came out a dark red and smelled of cherries and grapes. He picked up a glass and held it to her while he waited for her to take it.

Dominick had no idea if she even drank wine, but it was all that he happened to have in the library. And he wasn’t really ready to risk leaving, and open her up to some other guy who could pick her up. If his betrothed wasn’t good enough for him, Dominick wanted it to be Alexandra. Every time she smiled at him, he couldn’t help by smile back. It was very much unlike him, and it was very unplesasnt not understanding why he was doing it. Even though he didn’t understand it, maybe a few genuine smiles were not bad things. It would make him seem more human and he could impress her easier. But even if it did become a thing, he wasn’t even sure if it would last too long. She was from the summer, and he doubted that she would enjoy moving into snow all the time. And of course, he would never leave the palace. He was due to take his father’s place after all. His head was starting to pound lightly with the thoughts of it. But it really wasn’t time for that. He picked up his own wine glass giving it a swirl before taking a sip

He blinked at her. Did she ask for a napkin? Cassian had no idea what she was talking about for much of what she said, until she had removed the ice and spoke clearly. "It's snowing, and the Winter Lands. They are likely in hibernation if any are around here." He stated, wondering why she thought to risk bringing her snake to someplace so freezing cold. The prince had no idea what kind of snake one would have for a pet. He considered it similar to Neasa and her hounds. Something someone else wouldn't understand and something a mother would give them grief over.

"No." He said to her second round of questions. He realized she said something about kissing being easier without a nose--and then his was flushed with color just along with his cheeks. "No!" Cassian jerked back away from her. It was too sudden a movement that he didn't check behind him, elbow jamming into the stone of the wall followed by the back of his head. He put a hand to his jarred cranium and ground his teeth at the pain.

He felt like he was going to get a lump and the feeling shooting through his arm was unbearable! "Why do you talk so much?" Cassian growled at her. He recovered, slipping off the railing and landing on his feet. "Nevermind. That was a stupid question. Do you want something from me?" His gaze narrowed at her as he bent slightly over. She wouldn't be standing there yapping at him if she didn't want something. He hadn't said anything of much interest to her after he pointed her inside. The heat was still on his face and he could feel it at the back of his head through his hair. He was surely so red that it would worsen the embarrassment later.

Cassian put his other hand over the lower half of his face. "I'm not cutting off my nose for you. It's not that difficult to get around."

Allie was shocked at Dominick's indifference toward his sister. It was true that she was a grown woman, but Allie had assumed that an elder brother would be opinionated on the subject. I guess we simply have different family dynamics. Lucas would respect my decision; he would just have a few opinions to share on the matter. She heard Dominick say something else, but it was under his breath. Assuming he did not intend for her to hear the last comment, she chose to ignore it. Her curiosity was peaked as to what he might have said, but she did not want to be impolite. She continued to read the books on the table and realized that all of the books were about wine. It had not registered with her yet what the books were about until Dominick stated that he researched wine. Wine? Do you have a vineyard?

Dominick began to wander away, and she assumed it was in search of a drink for them. Her eyes followed him as he grabbed two glasses and a wine bottle from near the window. She watched him pour the dark liquid into a glass and accepted it with a smile. I drink very little wine at home, so I suppose today will be a learning experience. She raised her glass and took a small sip. The wine was good, but, as Dominick warned, very strong and bitter. Despite that, she enjoyed it. Allie took another small sip and looked at the prince over her glass. She was tiring of playing nice, but she also did not want to come across as too bold. It was not a princess' place to speak her mind, after all. Part of her did not care. It was clear that the prince had some interest in her, so there was no benefit from continuing to be the nicest and most polite young woman he would ever meet. Sure, she was nice and polite, but no one was all of the time.

Deciding to be bold (after all, who would know besides the two of them?), she set her glass down on the large table behind her. Using her hands, she lifted herself backward and up into a sitting position on the table. She picked the glass back up and took another sip. So, is there where you take all the young women you meet? Private place, strong wine...? Allie smirked at him. She was sure the comment would throw him off after how she had behaved up to that point, but she could recognize a well used trick. Many of her suitors visited her in the library. Some left pleased, and others left with burn marks. It was entirely possible that Dominick did not have such a thing in mind, but she had a feeling the thought had at least crossed his mind with other young women. He was an attractive young man, and it was clear that he knew that. Now she wanted to learn who he was under the pretty face and royal facade. She had been playing the role of innocent little princess up until this point, and she was curious as to what roles-if any-he had been playing thus far. If her boldness disturbed him, that was fine. She was not going to marry him anyway, and she had two brothers who could take her to the party instead. If her boldness did not bother him, well, she will have a chance to learn more than just what the Winter Kingdom likes everyone to believe.

So let the flames begin...

Making a disappointed noise when Cassian told her any snakes would most likely be in hibernation at that time of year, Nina sighed a little and steamrolled on. At least she still had Pete. Even if she couldn't milk him and keep her skills sharp, she didn't figure it would be that poor of a thing to take a break from. Her mother would most likely be pleased at the prospect. Pete was as good a pet as any, and a piece of home. He'd have to do, for now.

When Cassian jerked backward, Nina's eyes widened and she put her hands out reflexively. She winced a little at the pain he was probably feeling.
"That sounded like it hurt. Maybe you should go inside and have someone have a look at it. My mother says not to bother the physicians, but... well I don't suppose we're at my house, are we?"
She blinked a few times when he'd fired back at her, asking her why she talked so much, and Nina looked down, abashedly. "Am I? Sorry, I don't mean to. I'm just very excited to be here. My mother-..." She trailed off, realizing that she was talking too much again.
She shuffled around, scuffing the sole of her shoe against the steps, looking up only when Cassian had spoken again, this time claiming he wasn't going to cut his nose off for her.
For her? Nina looked up, looking more or less like a startled deer. Eyes like saucers, she tried to piece it together. "Why would you think I want you to cut your nose off. That's silly. I-" she'd been about to launch into plenty of reasons for him to keep his nose when something had clicked.
"Oh." Nina realized, and slowly let a smile spread to her lips. "You're Cassian, aren't you?" She'd been told her fiance's name, but nothing more past that he was a winter prince. She had been half expecting that her fiance was the one that had been missing from the party at the gates.
"That means we're- oh. Well that's not so bad. For the record, you don't have to cut off your nose for me. Only if you want to... for whatever reason you'd want to. And please don't ask me to cut mine off, either! I like my nose."

Lily frowned as she heard movement outside the carriage. Were the guards leaving? Lily couldn't help but feel a little safer with the guards there until they arrived at the Winter Palace. Her books always had stories of bandits taking a rich carriage. Beside, one never know if those Summer Lands solider would attack. Yes, the war was considered over, but Lily could never fully trust any of the Summer Lands.

Lily took the needle and gently push it through the fabric. She had to have more faith in her siblings. Morgan had his reputation, although Lily assumed most of it was exaggerated. Eden had her strength. Lily? She had... absolutely nothing. She would be completely useless if they were attacked. Lily stared at the stitching in front of her. She had pulled the string too tightly and had to loosen the stitch.

The princess didn't get to finish her thoughts, when the carriage door open. A burst of cold air flew into the carriage. Lily blinked and squinted at the sudden bright light. It took awhile for her eyes to adjust, and the light refecting from the snow was not helping. Her fingers immediately reached for her cloak to keep herself warm. Lily only frowned at her brother as he spoke. She dreaded the arrival. She much rather stay in the carriage, which was getting more uncomfortable by the hour. Lily nodded and smiled at his last comments. His compliments were going to be meaningless if he gives them away so freely. Lily shook her head. "Thank you, Morgan." She managed to say as the door closed.

Lily went back to her needle work. The carriage was silent. It felt grim to Lily as though they were going towards their death, but as she look up to speak to her sister she saw Eden sleeping. Lily said nothing. Instead, she studied her sister. She was beautiful, even in this dim lighting. The two were practically opposite. Lily remembered all the ladies gossiping. Eden had such a "sunny personality, a bit rough around the edges though". Lily heard herself described as far too serious. Instead of Eden's usual attire, her older sister was dressed in a more formal clothes that were appropriate for winter. She knew how restrictive Eden thought the dress were. Although Lily felt quite comfortably in the warm dress and cloak. She silently began to pack her needle work away and put on her gloves.

Soon enough, she felt the carriage stop. Lily held the rare plant firmly in her hands and wait a bit, just in case something happened. The doors open and Lily stepped out into the light snow. She didn't bother putting up her hood, despite the cold. It would be rude to cover her face when she meets her host. She could see her breath as she looked around. She frowned as she saw a few of the princes and princesses. It was best to ignore them for now, she didn't want to meet any of the Gwerder. And there was one... She thought as she saw the snow melt around him. Lily shook her head as she look for the King or Queen, the host of this...gathering.

"You need no permission from us, wouldn't you just storm it anyway?"

That was the precise moment Lucas decided that the youngest of the three wasn't worth listening to. Only a child would say that, and he had neither the time nor the patience to correct him. Not to mention that simply standing close to this one made him feel...strange. Was this what being cold was like? If so, he liked it not.

Sensing his blood brother's shift in mood, Solstice put a hand on Lucas's shoulder. Don't be so quick to judge.

Luc sighed, and Sol let go of his shoulder again. Turning to the eldest of the three, the prince nodded. "No matter. I'm familiar with the trials that come with having younger siblings. And thank you for your hospitality, Prince Dominick." He and Solstice bowed and that would have been that--but then the girl piped up.

He'd forgotten about her, to be honest. She was so...tiny.

"Luc," his shadow whispered into his ear, distracting him away from her biting words. "At least try to pay attention to your fiancée." Before Lucas could even open his mouth to reply, he continued, "And she's only three years younger than us, so don't treat her like a child."

"Yes, Mother," he muttered back, thankful that her attention seemed to be on Huey for the moment.

A few awkward seconds of silence passed between the four of them as they waited for an answer from Nahuel. When it became obvious that he wasn't going to reply, Solstice took over.

"That would be very helpful, Princess Neasa."

"Ask her about double bedrooms," murmured Lucas.

"I was going to ask the servant."

"Oh. Right." He turned and coughed into his fist, then addressed Neasa for the first time. "Thank you, Princess. I will see you inside--and we should discuss the circumstances of our engagement later. For now, please excuse us."

Off to the side, Solstice facepalmed. Gods. He'd for gotten about his lack of tact where women were concerned. Sighing, he crouched down, pulled out two pieces of jerky from his pockets, and placed them in front of the princess's wolves as some sort of peace offering before following his liege through the grand double doors of the castle.

"Well. You got out of there quickly," he noted serenely.

"You should have looked behind yourself," Lucas hissed through his teeth, all pretense of kindness gone now that they were more or less away from any foreigners.

"Behind us? Oh, you mean the lone girl on horseback? She seemed to be from the Aut--"

"Not her. Past her. Another carriage. Spring colors."

                                "Looking for me?"

They whirled around at the stranger's voice.

                                And immediately went pale.

After what seemed like an eternity, their carriage finally arrived at the gates. As they approached, Morgan squinted to pick up the figures standing in front of the castle itself, trying to identify them.

He immediately pegged the Summers from the others standing around by the insignia on their shoulders. Gods. Could they make his job any easier? The mere sight of the crest boiled his blood all over again. He could smell the war. He felt more than joy. He felt alive.

Smiling as the Summers entered the palace a little too timely for it to be mere coincidence, he swung onto the carriage and gallantly opened the door. "My lovely ladies. We've arrived." Lily had barely stepped onto the snow when Morgan put his hands on her shoulders and gently led her over to the tiny girl standing in the snow. Gods, she was a whole foot shorter than him.

"Hello there, Princess. These are my baby sister Lily and my big sister Eden. Please be good friends with them, okay?" He kissed his sisters on the cheek, went on all fours for a second to nuzzle the two sizeable wolves beside the Winter Princess, then hopped up the stairs and into the palace itself. "I'll be right back, my lovelies," he called out before shutting the doors behind him.

Oh goody. They hadn't gotten too far yet. He could still hear their voices.

"Not her. Past her. Another carriage. Spring colors."

                                "Looking for me?"

The two men in front of him turned and went white at the sight of him. The blue-haired one immediately stepped in front of the third, hand on his swordhilt.

Oh, this was delicious. The fear in the air was so thick it was almost pleasurable.

"Come on, now, why so tense?" He leaned on his hip and held out his hands in front of him, the universal signal for "Look, I'm not holding a big murderous weapon". "Ain't this supposed to be a peace meeting?"

The two men seemed to be struggling with their next choice of words. Finally, Bluey spoke up. "...Apologies. ...Prince Morgan."

"I'm assuming the kid behind you is the youngest prince?"

They tensed even more, hands never leaving their swords.

                                "...Yes. This is Prince Nahuel."

"Mm. Cool. Nahuel, I'm gonna borrow your big brother for a second, okay? Don't worry. ...I'll give him back."

He passed them and disappeared around a corner, walking straight down this unknown hall for a solid minute before finally turning around to face Lucas, alone this time.

"Glad to finally meetcha, Luc. ♥"

"Don't call me that," he hissed.

"How mean. I just wanted to say hi."

                                "Get to the point."

"I was really sad, you know." Morgan tilted his head and leaned forward. "I didn't get to see you at the war. Aren't you older than me?"

"It ended before I came of age."

"Ehhhhh, is that what it was? What a shame. I was lookin' forward to seeing you--y'know, since everyone talks about you so much. But...now that I think about it...if we had met back then, things would have been really disappointing."

                                Lucas bit his lip. "...explain."

"I mean, you weren't even able to kill some bandits? Wait, no, let me think. Didn't you have someone with you? That's even sadder--"

The man finally roared into life and grabbed Morgan's collar, drawing him close as though to bite him. "Those were no bandits--those were your filthy assassins trying to sneak into the castle city. They killed him in cold blood."

He outright laughed in his face. "Mm, I don't know. Pre--tty sure I heard it was bandits." Giggling again, he continued, "And hey, remember--you made the first move today."

Before Lucas could even blink, the Mad Dog pushed free from his grasp and kicked him in the temple, sending him to the ground. He fell hard enough to have the wind knocked right out of his lungs, and for a few moments he froze up, unable to breathe.

Morgan strolled over to his body and knelt, straddling his torso. This time, it was his turn to grab his collar and lift him off the floor. "See? Pretty disappointing." His other hand gently wiped away the blood trickling from Lucas' cut lip--he must have bitten it when he fell. "...Gods, you're warm." His fingers lingered on the heat of his skin, tracing a trail of red from his jaw to the lines of his neck.

Lucas finally regained enough breath to scream a single word. "SOLSTICE!"

The bodyguard immediately came running around the corner, naked steel in his hand. Morgan shifted his weight from his knees to his feet and lifted Lucas straight off the ground by the collar, holding him in front as a shield.

Solstice stopped his momentum just short of running Lucas through with his own blade. Morgan used this hesitation to throw his hostage into Solstice's arms, and the force would have knocked them over had the latter not steadied himself.

He made a show of licking the blood off his hand. "That's really unfair, Luc. I didn't know you were the type of person to call for help right when you start losing." Shrugging, he strolled past them. "Welp. It was fun sparring with you. Hope we can play again while we're here~"

He turned the corner and smiled.

Solstice held Lucas's head close to his chest until he made sure that Morgan was gone. "...Damn it! Here, sit up. Let me look at you." He turned his head and brushed his hair away from his temple. "How hard did he hit you?"

"I didn't feel anything break, if that's what you're getting at." Lucas winced. "...that's going to bruise. Shit."

                                "How's your breathing?"

                                "Fine now. I'm...fine."

                                "Can you stand?"

"...Yeah." He had to lean on Solstice to do so, but in the end he was able to stand without support.

A heavy silence settled over them.

"...I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let you go. I should have protected you."

"Gods..." Lucas covered his eyes with the back of his hand, leaned against the wall, and tilted his head back. "First Regin, and now you?" he finally said, and Solstice realized that he was crying.

He was dying. He was going to leave but--a Prince of Spring ran inside after dropping off his sisters. He barely got a look at anything but the back of him. Cassian was shut out of the palace. He stepped back and stared at the closed doors. When he turned back around, with Nina still standing there, the other princesses had come forward. One of them was dressed in so many layers of white, she puffed out like the snowman he had made earlier. "Welcome to the Winter Palace." He said to them. "The maids will take your things, and show you to your rooms if you would like to rest before the ball this evening." He offered since it seemed he was the one stuck to make the arrivals welcome. His brother, heir to the throne, disappeared and his sister was no help at all.

The young prince sighed. "I am Cassian, and this is Nina Avius." He even made introductions this time, gesturing to the princess beside him. He did not bow since they were of equal standing. "It's much warmer inside." Cassian informed them a moment after. Nina had stayed with him out in the chilly air... He realized he fell to staring and touched the back of his head. Perhaps he hit it too hard? Without another word, he turned to the doors and opened them to allow the guests into the palace and the warmer foyer.

The servants brought forward trays. He grabbed cups from atop them and handed them out to the Spring Princesses, a warm cup of cocoa for each of them, and then topped it with a chocolaty sweet cookie. Feed them, sit them down, leave them alone--that was his mission. As he turned to take another and give it to Nina, he noticed the prince who had run inside turn the corner to return to them. Nina opened her mouth and he put a cookie in it. She might think to ask him what it was he had run for. "Hey--You." He called the attention of the Prince, motioning him to come over. He quickly stuffed a cookie into his own mouth, thinking it may be the only chance he got if he had to deal them out for quiet.

The prince was given the same treatment. Cookie, cocoa. Cassian barely registered that he had stuffed it in the prince's mouth also before he handed him a mug of cocoa. He picked up the remaining pair to take over to the door. "Neasa." He spoke with his mouth full and chewing as he gave the last one to his sister. If she didn't want it, he would eat it.

‘Well, I hope he would not mind that I take you,’ he said softly,. ‘ Yes, actually. It’s my own little private vineyard. Father insists on selling some of the wine that come out of it,’ he explained.

He flashed a smile when he saw her looking at him over her wine glass. Maybe it ws a bad idea to give her wine if she didn’t drink too much of it at home, but it was a little too later now. She seemed to enjoy it just fine, especially with the whole learning experience. He had a sip of wine in his mouth when Alexandra had asked if this was the place that he would take all the girls. He had to make an effort to swallow the wine. He put a hand to his mouth to make sure that he hadn’t dribbled. How did she knew about all the others? Or was it just a joke? No, she couldn’t have known about it. She wasn’t from here, so she wouldn’t know… Unless, she was guessing. In which case, it was a very good guess. What was he going to say to her?

’Very well, you caught me,’ he said stepping close to her, once she was sitting on the table. He had figured that the best way to avoid it, was to admit it and hope that she would notice he was playing along. ’ I cannot resist a pretty face. But… He moved closer, bending slightly at the waist to whisper into her ear.. ’… I normally take them out into the woods, so I can leave them behind and let them find their own way back out.’ He stood up straight and flashed a smile at her before he took the last sip in his glass.

He had actually never thought about taking the girls out into the woods. It was impolite to take them somewhere cold, and then just leave them. It’s not like anyone caught him now anyway. But then again, none of his family went into his vineyard. With Alexandra being onto him, it wasn’t like he was going to be able to take her away with him. Besides, even if he did, what would people say when they found out? And he knew they would find out. He mentally shrugged it away. What did it matter anyway? He was trying to impress to wed, not bed. And he really, really needed a back up plan if his own betrothed didn’t work out. He did wonder if she was here yet, but he had devoted his attention to the princess he was looking at, so what did it matter currently if his betrothed was here or not. ’More wine?’ he asked, holding up the bottle.

Allie was interested in his vineyard. Being so cold, it was confusing to her that he was able to keep a vineyard anywhere near the castle. Grapes thrive in warm climates, and the Winter Land was anything but warm. I would be very interested in seeing that sometime, if you don't mind. Perhaps the vineyard was within a greenhouse somewhere? Or the Winter Land had some sort of technology to drastically increase the temperature? That seemed unlikely to her.

Dominick certainly was caught off guard by her comment. She watched at he took a moment to compose himself before responding. It was amusing for her to watch the young man trying to come up with a response to her clearly inappropriate comment. He took a step closer to her as he responded. Allie could feel his breath against her ear as he whispered. He was playing with her, and she was not sure how she felt about that. Did he think that she was a child that needed humored? Was he actually a 'good' prince? Or was she simply oblivious and he truly was not interested in her? Her thoughts began to swim as she sorted through the possibilities. Being bold seemed like a good idea, but now she was not sure how to continue. Her lack of social experience was starting to give her anxiety, so she took another sip of wine to distract herself. She had two options at this point: go back to the charade or see how Dominick will react if she continues to act like herself. The fastest way to get answers was to be direct, so she had plenty of practice in that. Bold it is then.

Allie hopped off the table. Ugh, you're no fun. She wandered away from him and toward the large window. All she could see was snow, snow, and more snow. It was like there was no escaping the white, wet monster. It was a good thing none of the three Gwerders would be moving to the Winter Land. Quite a few problems would certainly arise. She turned back toward him after a few moments of staring into space. Should I go back to behaving like a good little princess now? Sarcasm dripped from her words. Once they left the library, she was not going to get another chance to speak freely for a while. No matter what, she needed to keep up the charade of being a polite, quiet princess in front of everyone. Being alone with Dominick, she knew she could get away with speaking out of term. It would not bode well for him to tell that he took a young princess to a secluded location and gave her strong wine, so she highly doubted that he would comment to anyone on her current behavior.

Dominick lifted the bottle of wine and offered her more. Her glass was still partially full, but it certainly was delicious. She took another sip of the liquid and decided that more sounded like a good idea. That would be lovely, Your Highness. She gave a small curtsy and stood back up. Her voice was snide and a smirk danced around her lips. This last comment would either push his buttons or thoroughly amuse him. It certainly was fun to experiment with her behavior around a complete stranger. She got few opportunities to be around strangers, and, when she was, it was important for her to set a good example and give the Summer Lands a good reputation. The change felt good. It was exciting to have a new opportunity, especially since she would not get the chance to behave in such a way anytime soon, if ever.

So let the flames begin...

‘Yes, yes of course. I will definitely take you to go see it,’ he replied.

He was a little taken aback when she had said that he was no fun. Of course he was fun! He was all sorts of fun! His eye twitched slightly when she jumped off the table. How dare she not think him fun. But of course, her comment got him to thinking that maybe he was an a** with a stick up his butt. He was a good half a bottle of wine into the day already, and the last cup has taken him a little over the edge, and he had a little buzz going on. He would have to cut out the drinking under later that night, lest he lose control of himself. But it was her no fun comment that pushed him over. And what was this about going back to be a good little princess? This was good? He would show her he was fun and spontaneous.

His face was devoid of any smiles, as he stepped toward her, putting the wine bottle back on the table. It was the perfect timing now. She was holding the glass out of the way. In one quick motion, he had stepped in front of her, encircling his right arm around her waist, pulling her up close to him, crushing the front of his clothes once again. With the arm around her waist, he lifted her off the floor slightly, pulling her closer to his face. His blue eyes searched her face, taking in the finest of lines, before looking into her red eyes. ’ No fun? Oh I’m dripping with fun darling. Maybe, you’ll get to experience it,’ he whispered softly, his lips hovering closely to hers. He could smell the wine on her breath after half a glass, and no doubt she could smell it on his. His blue eyes looked curiously into hers a while longer, before that little voice in the back of his head whispered to him. This isn’t appropriate Dominick!

He swallowed heavily before letting her go, turning away from her. He was betrothed, she was betrothed! He tugged his vest down as he grabbed for the bottle of wine. He definitely needed a glass after that. He poured himself a half glass, completely forgetting that he had offered Allie more wine, and in one swig, finished the whole glass. He definitely needed it after that. He could feel his heart beating quicker than normal. He hoped he didn’t look as dishevelled on the outside, as he felt on the inside.

Lily reluctantly allowed her brother to let her lead her to the small group standing outside. Seeing the Summer color and crest had soured her mood. It reminded her why she was here and who she had to marry.

Lily had only been in the light snow fall for a few minutes and already the snow flakes were sticking to her clothes. How did anyone see or move through the snow, Lily didn't know. She said nothing as Morgan kissed her cheeks and went down to play with the wolves. If it was anyone else, she would have disapprove of the display gesture of affection. She curtsy as Morgan introduced her as his "baby sister, Lily", wincing at the informal introduction. Baby sister?

She felt horrified when her brother left her with the group, leaving her to deal with all this. Oh, he better be back soon...He can't leave me like that.

"My apologies," Lily said to the group as she watch her brother disappear through the castle door. She hoped he wasn't going to go in and cause any trouble. "That was, Morgan. My brother."

She smiled gratefully at the young prince, noting his hospitality. She gestured to the plant in her hand. "Oh. This is a gift to your family, as thank for having us in your home. It has great healing properties, but it can only use once." Lily caught herself from rambling on. She gave the plant to a maid next to the prince, who in turn took it into the castle."I wrote the necessary information on the tag of the plant." She finished.

Lily nodded as he introduced himself and the princess next to him. The prince was obviously from the Winter Lands. The girl seemed to be from the Autumn land, since the snow remained cool around her. But Lily knew that she couldn't simply expect to know who was a Gweder by looking to see whether if snow melted around them. There was another near them. One, she assumed was the Winter Land Princess, Cassian's sister. The other- Lily wasn't sure.

She walked behind Cassian as he led them into the castle. It wasn't accurate to say that Lily was impressed with the castle. She's been in her fair share. Lily was not in awe of what is to be her new temporary home, but she still found the castle beautiful. Once they entered, Lily welcomed the heat. She muttered a thank to the prince as he offered her a cup of warm drink and a cookie. Lily was used to drinking tea, and therefore found the drink strange. After cooling the drink down a bit, she took a sip. It was sweet, but strange-in a good way. Is this the drink made of cocoa bean they spoke of? Such drinks weren't common in the Spring Lands, or at least Lily never tried it back home. It was certainly delicious. The cookie, however was too sweet for her taste.

Lily smiled in relief as Morgan returned, looking rather please with himself. That made her both amused and concern. "Morgan...did you enjoy yourself?" She asked vaguely. Lily thought it was best to be ignorant of what her brother had did. It was for her own benefit, so that she wouldn't have to deal with finding out that he had some how smash a valuable vase, causing their host to become hostile. They had one, well technically three enemies with in range and that was enough. No, Lily rather find out the problem later. That is, if Morgan did anything. For all she know, Morgan might have just ran off and went exploring. She hoped it was the latter.

Her thoughts quickly turned to see why she was suddenly less tense. The hot beverage had distracted her from that Gweder prince outside. It would appear that he had left. She rather not have such confrontation so close to their arrival. Lily took a sip, and by the time she finished Morgan already had a cookie in his mouth. She said nothing at the winter prince's strangeness. Lily found it rather rude, but it might be a custom? The prince had done it with the Autumn princess and her brother... Lily thought, confused.

█ ▌ Things were happening much too fast for Nahuel's liking, but the boy simply stared ahead with an unblinking gaze. It was - comforting to have Solstice around, not because he desired human company, but because Huey was very aware of just how small and fragile he was compared to all these other royals, bred for war. Even the girls looked as if they could tear out a couple of throats in a day's work.

Huey didn't even acknowledge the Mad Dog's presence, or deign to answer his question (not that, of course, he would have been able to, even if he wanted to), but felt an acute emptiness and panic gather in him once Luc followed him away. Alarmed, he clutched Solstice's hand, gripping it tightly, almost before the shout came ringing out from behind the building. Huey doubted he'd ever seen the man move so fast. But there was little the boy could do, save for standing rooted to the spot, eyes trained on where he expected his brother and his companion to reappear. When he did, Nahuel crunched his way closer to the shaken figure, placing a small, near-weightless hand in his brother's. For the first time since arriving, he spoke.

"Remember your place, brother." His voice was faint and hoarse from the cold, and flat as always, but the fact that he'd spoken was significant in itself. If anyone knew him, Luc and Allie would, and they knew that he did not mince his words, did not offer undue compliments or comforting words. Huey's words were a gentle reminder of where Luc was, who he was with, and his status as Prince. Right now that prince could not mourn or worry and show any weakness; though Huey knew his loss as well as Luc himself did, he had duties to attend to, and most of all, himself to protect. He tightened his grip on Luc's hand slightly. "Allie." With a nod in the direction of the palace, Huey tugged gently on Luc's hand, motioning for Solstice to go with them.

                                                                      "Luc?"

The little boy turned to him, grim determination in his eyes.

"The fires will not burn out."
