"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world."

....Zelna didnt get any sleep. But that was a usual thing for her. She hasnt gotten a night's sleep since the accident. A slight chill went up her spine when she thought about it, shaking her head she returned to her book about the different types of dragons. Even though she no longer had a dragon she still wanted to learn about them, to understand their language, to understand their meaning of life. Was their meaning of life the same as the humans? A sigh escaped her lips, closing the book she stood up, glanced out the window at the sun to see what time it was. It was almost ten in the morning. She would be training the priestess again today. A small smirk formed as she began to get ready, remembering how the priestess has a plague of being late for her training and despite not being able to become the dragon priestess she was more than happy to train the one who was going to take her place.

....When Zelna stepped outside she heard the sound of nature, the wind blowing between the trees, the animals running about and chirping, she felt at peace. She took in the smell of the thick pine trees before exhaling slowely, then checking to see if she hadnt forgotten anything. She needed to meet the priestess out in the courtyard some miles away from her home. She never minded the walk, it gave her time to think. As what she always did.

.... Zelna walked her usual path around the trees and shrubs, never in a hurry. She looked up at the sky, her glassy red eyes staring at the light blue sky, painted with white clouds. She sometimes wished to be up there, in the sky, riding on a dragon. She wanted to feel the cold air skim across her face with slight force and speed. She wanted to hear the wind whistling in her ears and the loud thumps of a dragon's wings keeping itself in the sky. She shook her head again and focused on the road ahead of her. Before she knew it she made it to the courtyard where she was supposed to meet the priestess for training. She dropped her arrows, sword and bow on the ground and sat on a rock formed bench, awaiting the arival of her student.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬ ▬

After sweeping the porch and steps, despite her 'mother' doing it, the soon to be Dragon Priestess walked towards the court yard. She hung her head as Exodus followed her side. Each step that the large white dragon made rattled the loose tiles beneath her. Best of all, he was still growing. "I don't think I will ever get out of here." Kaleah said, glancing to Exodus. Her duel swords were tied to her back in a criss-cross. She barely ever used her swords except for when ever she was in training or bandits tried to steal from Udanashi.

Exodus gave a slight moan and moved his head down to her rib cage, making Kaleah stop in her tracks. "Well, you can still go. We're not bonded." Exodus looked up to her. "No, I don't want to bond, I've been telling you that since you followed me here." The dragon pulled his head away from her, but didn't leave. It angered Kaleah every now and then that even when she tried to tell Exodus that she didn't want to be connected with him, he still didn't leave. He was always by her side. The reason Kaleah never wanted to bond was because of the horror stories that some other priestesses told her. Zelna was the last one to try and bond, and it ended up killing her dragon. The nineteen year old always took notice how Zelna never really sleeps at night.

Also, the bonding ritual meant that she would be connected to Exodus. That meant, if he was injured, she was injured. If he died, she died. The only up side to any of it was having the use of magic, but if Kaleah could live without magic, she figured she could live without bonding too.

"Hey, sorry I'm late." Finally, Kaleah reached the court yard and grinned to Zelna happily.

Jadis Therosis II

The King

Jadis stood, stepping towards Leto. His hand placed to the young boys left shoulder. "I need you to do something that I thought I would never have to make someone do in my lifetime." Another look of worry made him retract his hand and fold his hands behind his back. He stepped towards a window and stared out at the city. His city.

"Our country is in danger once again." He glanced to Leto. "This time, not from any Dragons, but from our neighboring country. You would believe that they do not hold any power, but I believe they do." He turned, letting the sun shine through the windows. His body a shadowed sillhouette. "I need you to search the country for anyone who is bonded with Dragons. Though, unlike your previous missions, I do not need you to slaughter them. I need you to recruit them and bring them here, to my castle."

He paused. "I know this is a odd request, but we do not have time to waste. I want you to start in the hidden village of Udanashi. They are located on the Rastydill Mountains. There will be a map and horse provided for you, as well as anything else you wish for."

"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world."

....Zelna focused on the rock she held in her hand. She had been carving it into a triangle shape for some time. She did this in her spare time, which was 90 percent of the time since she didnt sleep. She learned the skill of making her own arrows by her mother and everytime she would begin to make one the thought of her, sitting beside her, watching as she began to carve the stone and telling her that the stone, at first, must be tilted while carving because thats how you form the sha[e. She stopped carving as she thought about her mother. She stared off into space for some time. Reliving the moments of her family.
....She glanced up, seeing that the Priestess came. And with her dragon. Zelna stared at the dragon for a moment before her eyes moved to Kaleah. She smiled softly, putting her tools away before walking up to her. She bowed slightly, "Late again I see?" She laughed lightly, straightening up. She didnt mind that Kaleah was ever late. She is, after all, still a kid. Kids should be free and have fun. Not being trained daily to fend for herself when she gets a huge responsibility like becoming the Dragon Priestess. "What would you like to begin working on today? It is all up to you, Kaleah." She turned away from Kaleah, only to go to her bag of supplies. She took out Kaleah's starter weapons. A thin sword, a hunting bow, a few daggers and gloves with small spikes at the knuckles. She turned back towards the Priestess and her dragon, awaiting an answer for what she wanted to learn about today.

Leto had to take a step back as the king made, what seemed liked insane, request of him. He was a hunter, who specialized in killing dragons and yet he was the one being requested to gain their trust. Sure he was charismatic, but this was going to prove to be harder then any mission before. But it wasn't like he was going to say no though.

"As you wish my king, I will depart as soon as I finish all my arrangements and then I'll head east my lord. I'll arrange for some horses and provisions myself my lord. I also need to finish some business I start well I was here and I should be able to set out as early as tonight my lord, with your permission of course " the young knight explained, waiting to see what the king's response would be. Though the news from Allallora was disturbing as well, but he had heard the rumors before from some merchants talking about it. If war really started up with a neighboring kingdom, even was as weak as Allallora, The surviving dragons and their sympathizers who had been in hiding could use the opportunity to attack as well, forcing the kingdom to fight on two fronts. Guess he could understand why Jadis wanted to try and make some peace with them before anything started up. Now the question was if Leto could get them to cooperate.

The sun shone gently through an open window. A breeze fluttered the curtains like two delicate deep violet butterfly wings, making them flap idly. A bed sat in the centre of the extremely large room. It was a canopy bed, with brightly coloured drapes that hung from the four posts. There was an abundance of blankets, stuffed animals, and pillows, almost completely consuming the girl among them.

She had long wispy locks of golden hair. It wasn't too dark, and not too light. Her skin was a fair pale colour, contrasting against her ruby coloured pajamas. Her sapphire eyes flickered open, blinking groggily before they lazily traveled the room.

Clara, the Princess, swung her feet over the side of the bed and sat up. She spent a couple moments rubbing her face, trying to wake herself up. What time was it?

The Princess rose from her bed over to a large cherry wood vanity. In front of it was a small stool which she sat upon gracefully, even if she had just woken seconds before. Clara leaned in, looking at her face in the mirror. She picked at it for a couple minutes, making sure she had no blemishes or spots.

She powdered her face lightly, brushed her hair, and did all those wonderful morning necessities every princess needs to do. Afterwards, a soft knocking on the door roused her to go look. It was one of the many maids they had, come to pick out her outfit and dress her for the day. She donned her favourite ruby dress- It was one of her most well-known colours after all, aside from shades of purples and pinks.

Clara sat once more at her vanity, watching as the maid picked out matching hair pieces, and finally her mother's brooch. She clasped it from behind, and began working on her hair. As Clara sat, her fingers idly smoothed over her sapphire brooch. It was made to mirror the lovely shade of her mother's - and now her - eyes. They looked identical, but Clara would never know if they acted the same. How was her mother's manners? Was she sociable? She wondered what her voice was like.

"All finished,"
The maid smiled, sounding a little exhausted. It wasn't easy work to dress a princess in the morning- even if she wasn't going anywhere. She had to look perfect.

Clara rose from her stool, thanking the maid with a quiet bow, and headed down the hallway. She was still too tired to want to do any socializing.

OOC // Hi guys! <3 I hope this is okay. >< I haven't RP'd in a long time, and I'm trying to get back into it. :3 I hope I do good. xD

Kaleah watched Zelna with a worried look. Zelna was her friend, even though she was technically her bodyguard too. She frowned as she bowed. "What would I like to work on?" She repeated, pondering for a moment. A soft grin placed on her coral colored lips. "I would like to work on close combat." Kaleah was pretty skilled with close combat. It was her favorite. She loved to be in someones face swinging a sword. ...Er..That sounded evil. She wasn't!

"What do you think I need to learn?" She asked, starting to climb a tree branch. "I'm awful at the bow and I can't throw daggers." She sat on a tree branch about seven feet in the air and hung upside down.

Jadis Therosis II

The King

"You are free to leave any time you wish."

The King watched as the chess board was brought in, another guard held the slim, cherry wood polished box that contained the pieces. Jadis stepped away from the window, back towards his throne. He paused in his steps, as if he had forgotten something. "And Leto," He said, glancing to him for another moment. "If they refuse, then resort to force. You are dismissed." For a moment, there was a tinge of coldness in his voice, but then he looked to the two guards awaited an order. "Ah! Excellent." He smiled, clapping his hands together. "Now, one of you go and see if my daughter is awake? I believe it's time to get her brain moving this morning." He basically said that he wanted to play chess with the Princess. The guard left and went to find her.

As the guards left, he began to think of how well Leto would succeed in this request. It was a test of his weakness and if the Dragon Hunter could be fit for a king.

Leto nodded as the king dismissed him from the throne room as the king finished giving him the mission details. Then as he turned to leave, the king suddenly cold voice rang from behind him and a small shiver went down the charismatic knight's back. That was so unlike him, was the situation really that grave. He left the throne room as he heard the king summoned for the princess and he frowned that he would just miss being graced by her beauty. Hopefully he could catch her once before he left on his next mission, he was finally becoming acquainted with Clara after all.

Leto returned to his room, where his armor was sitting on a fancy stand where it was all set up and even his cross bow was in front of it. He'd have to pack it all up and so he started to slip his chest plate, bracers, knee guards, and all the bits of equipment that built up his family's armour. The dragon hunter then strapped the quiver of arrows and the crossbow to his back, before moving to pack a small bag full of spare clothes and items. He'd load any needed supplies on a horses saddle and just hope that the people of Udanshi were willing to share. But, that was probably hoping too much at his point.

Clara walked slowly, taking her time before she walked to the throne room. She wanted to see her father, of course. But she had a sinking suspicion that he was in a mood for a game. He always loved mind games. Thinking games, Clara thought. No, she really didn't want to. Perhaps she would avoid the throne room that morning..

The Princess contemplated this, letting the sound of her shoes clack rhythmically against the hard floors. She saw one of the guards in the distance. Presumably looking for her by the looks of it.

Clara swallowed hard. She wanted some breakfast, maybe some tea with it. She then hoped to sneak off and read a book or two while relaxing in a comfy chair. It would be a nice touch to her lazy morning.

The one guard- a slightly taller male looked in her direction. Her bright ruby dress was hard to miss, but the golden haired girl darted behind a hallway corner, praying he hadn't seen her.

She pressed herself up against the wall. A maid walked by with a warm smile. "M'lord is looking for you, I take it?" She gave a light chuckle. Clara didn't even have to respond, for the sound of heavy footsteps began to approach.

Why, oh why, did her father want to play chess so early in the morning? Clara turned away from the maid, abruptly smacking into the large flat chest of a man.

She made a muffled noise. A mix of fright, surprise, and a pinch of pain. The guard looked down- he wasn't a menacing man, but his height loomed over her like a shadow. She wasn't a very tall person to begin with.

"Princess, the King would like to see you." He spoke lightly, but in her mind it sounded deep and tough. Clara always thought their voices were too flat. Too void of emotion. She sighed, there really was no escaping. She allowed the guard to escort her to the throne room. She knew the way, but in the vast castle she was still protected and watched over like a hawk.

On the way however, Clara passed the Dragon Hunter's room, unaware of his presence. She had no idea he was even in the castle, and thus never bothered to see if he was around. She suspected he was already off on some adventure. Some time would pass, and he would return cocky as ever and swooning over the women of S'ven. The Princess chuckled quietly. She hadn't known him for long, but he was an entertaining person to listen to.

***

"Sire, the Princess is here," A guard bowed in the midst of opening the door. Clara stepped forward, giving a nod of thanks for escorting her, and dismissed the guard. She looked up, brushing a stray tendril of hair away from her face.

"Daddy!" Clara beamed, holding up the hem of her gown as she rushed towards the King, throwing her arms around him tightly. "Good morning!"

Jadis Therosis II

The King

Jadis smiled brightly as his only daughter arms wrapped around him and he returned the embrace with a hug three times the strength of hers. "So sleeping in places my daughter in a good mood, well thats wonderful. Would you mind gracing your poor father with a game of chess?" He asked the blonde haired princess, doubting she would say no at that point. The king's arms released her and he sat back in his chair waiting for Clara to finish her hug as well.

Soon some servants brought a table and an extra chair into the throne room and set it up across from the throne, so Clara would have somewhere to sit. "I'll let you be white, to represent your purity" Jadis motioned for Clara to take a seat.

The king actually had something very important to talk to her about, and with her eighteenth birthday coming up, there was no longer a way to procrastinate around it. He finished setting up his side of piece and waited on his daughter to make the first move.

....Zelna couldnt help but laugh when Kaleah told her she wasnt good at much but close combat. She shook her head slighty and picked up Kaleah's combat gloves. "Youd want to work on the things you arent good at, such as throwing daggers and using the bow. Because you never know when your going to need it." She turned around and watched Kaleah swing from a tree. She smiled at her, putting her own combat gloves on. "We will start with hand to hand combat." She stretched and waited for Kaleah to get down. "I want you to throw everything at me. Do your worst and dont hold back." She spoke, getting in the ready stance.
....Kaleah was a good friend to Zelna. They have gotten close over the years she was her bodyguard. She hoped that Kaleah would be comfortable around her and wouldnt be afraid to speak to her. Becuase even though she is her bodyguard she can be a parent to her, helping with daily struggles or problems held deep inside that she is afraid to speak out. Zelna could handle hits, being a bodyguard they threw alot of things to test the strength and indurance of your body.

Leto finished packing his bag and threw the small duffel bag over his shoulder as he exited his room, just missing Clara, and walked down a set of stairs to the stables. Hopefully the king had prepared a horse for him with the necessary map that would successfully lead him to one of the so called hidden villages, he had been hearing about. The dragon hunter had visited
The Rastydil Mountains once before, on his last hunt and going back wasn't a very warming thought. Plus he had a guide last time and this time he would have to navigate by himself, which was a terrifying thought all on its own. The hunter didn't have the worlds best sense of direction.

On his way to the stables a group of three younger maids walked passed, two being from earlier, and he smirked as he suddenly found himself distracted. "Well I see fate has brought us together again, and this time you've graced me with another equally beautiful women" Leto said, and the three stopped midway by the shock. The young knight grabbed the hand of the new maid and kissed the top of it, he face suddenly going red. The three maids soon surrounded him, asking him questions of what the king wanted and where he was going off too, which Leto managed to turn all the questions around into compliments about them. This was an element he always excelled at of late.

Kaleah pulled herself back up with pure muscles, then jumped from the tree branch. When she jumped, her arms flew behind her back and the rubbing of the swords against the sheath made a quick sound. She dropped down towards her and swung forward. Her hair whipped with her body quickly. She was fast, but she lacked a lot of power. Agility was her real talent. She laughed.

"You asked for it!"
