It's no mystery that war tends to leave worlds decimated and families strewn across the globe, or on the ethereal plane if the violence claimed them. War breeds bitter sentiment and rebellious hearts, and our situation, this tendency was no different from any other violent war. It's been said that both sides had a hand in creating this explosive conflict, and both have now had a hand in ceasing it. Thousands of years ago, the conflict began over a woman, a fair maiden (as is typical), who's exceptional beauty attracted the attention of two upstanding warrior princes: a Dragomir Dragon, and a Caterali Cat.

Both warriors excelled in their trades, and both wished to make this fair maiden's heart their last and greatest conquest. Allies both, the Dragon agreed that the Cat and he could fight to the last talon for this maiden, though she didn't bless the competition. Once the blood had been spilled, no clear victor prevailed, and the maiden chose with her heart, and chose the Caterali warrior, who had been most badly wounded. Outraged at his unfair loss, the Dragon attacked the newly united couple and sent them burning into the afterlife—and then all reasoning after that was lost in a furious meld of blood, steel, flames, and claws.

Now, when the Dragons are on the verge of a major victory over the Caterali bloodlines, the Mad King, also known as the last surviving male heir to the Caterali throne, has attempted to extend an olive branch. The reason for this, however, was not because he was losing—but because the Dragons asked for this boon. You see, recently, the King of the Dragomir bloodline has fallen ill, and though his eldest son, a warrior and a fitting heir to his throne, would be capable of taken his place, a great horror befell the family at the same time—the death of their youngest Prince, a Dragon named Giovanni, who was only six when the Mad King managed to find him wandering around on the battlefield, out of the Eldest Prince's sight for a moment—and killed him.

This sparked outrage and a general lack of enthusiasm for the monarchy and for the war, and therefore the olive branch was extended. Knowing he had little to lose—he offered the Dragon King his four daughters, as brides for his four remaining sons, who were all of an age to marry. This did not go over well in court, when the sickly king announced through hacking coughs and labored breaths that the war would end—and there had been an arranged marriage set up to unite the two bloodlines once again. Determined to sabotage their father's wishes and to avenge the memory of Giovanni, their fallen brother, the Dragomir Brothers have decided to try and force the daughters of the Mad King to abandon this treaty, though putting words into action may not be so easy . . . After all, the moment they make it back from the battle field, they will be wed.

                                                1. I reserve the right to kick out any and all godmodders or people who insist on grating on my nerves.
                                                2. Poison Parody is the sole voice of authority in this roleplay, though Knight Wolfe is her little helper and beloved friend.
                                                3. Shadowing is accepted to a point, but once it becomes godmodding then I give you a one-way ticket out of here.
                                                4. Rank matters. An elder dragon is ten times the size of a youthful dragon, and infinitely more powerful.
                                                5. There are no god-like characters here. You are not invincible, and if you think you can pull that s**t in my roleplay, get out.
                                                6. You will send me your profiles; I do not take reservations. They should have something in the subject line...
                                                7. This is a semi-lit roleplay. Therefore at least 2 paragraphs will be expected.
                                                8. Grammar mistakes are also expected but not appreciated; use spell-check, please.
                                                9. Speech should be separated from general text; be it color or bolding. Italics should be reserved for only thoughts.
                                                10. We're using anime pictures. No real pictures, dragon or otherwise, will be accepted.
                                                11. When you send your profile to me, if you're a dragon, put 'fire and blood' and if you're a cat put 'hear me roar!' (if you get the reference I love you.)
                                                12. Do not use text speak in the IC thread; leave it in the OOC thread, linked here.
                                                13. Your posts should be mildly pretty, showing me that at least minimal effort was put into making the layouts.
                                                14. Your posts should have your name, etc, to be clear on who's who.
                                                15. The Dragons and the Felines all share their respective last names: Dragomir, for the dragons, and Caterali, for the Felines.
                                                16. Love isn't spawned over night—that's what we call a one-night-stand. If you're shipping your characters, do it slowly.
                                                17. Last, but never least, this is a long term roleplay—stick around, or so help me, I'll hunt you down—I, uh, I mean... have fun!

It is November and it is already winter. A surprisingly warm day has struck the Northern Dragonlands where the Dragon's Castle is located, causing the way from the battlefield to the Castle to be muddy and filthy, due to snow melt and the fact that, while snowing hasn't stopped, it doesn't stick and melts the second it hits the ground. Princes will be coming back from the battlefield, having traveled for a full day through this mud, while they're coated in blood from the last day of fighting. It's cloudy and will most likely chill by nightfall, and the sun is hidden behind clouds. The wedding will be taking place the moment the Princes walk into the Throne Hall, where four pedestals have been set up, so that each couple may be partnered and married separately, but at the same time. Red roses and black decorations fall about the place, sparsely accented with silver and white, the four colors of the House Dragomir. The castle is very dark but constantly lit by torchlight, so no one loses their way. Dragons are naturally attracted to cave-like dwellings, due to their ancestry. They appreciate the skies more than any creatures, however, and have many large verandas and balconies on every bedding chamber that is adjacent to the outside walls. The Felines will not be given their own rooms, but rather en suites so they may have their privacy from their bloodthirsty mates, should they wish for it. The sickly King will bless each couple (Eldest with Eldest, Second with Second, etc) before they are sent to a fabulous banquet, where the Eldest Prince will be named Heir and his coronation date will be set. And then, as a conclusion to the evening, the couples will be pushed into their marital chambers. Whether or not the marriage will be a true one or not is up to you. Let us see if this Treaty shall truly last.

The scent of blood and grime rose to assault Autzen's sensitive nostrils as he rode through the encampment of Dragon soldiers. He himself was covered in it from head to foot, though some didn't show due to the blackness of his armor. The war's fighting had ceased, but that still left several troops out on the battlefield to . . . ensure peace was kept, so to speak. Most soldiers had either deserted or been dismissed home. Autzen would deal with the deserters when he was King, if he couldn't get it done before then. There were a few high-ranking officers that had had the audacity to defy Autzen and go back to court, but as soon as this was brought to the attention of the King, surely swift justice would be dealt them. Dragon law was harsh but it was just as effective; no one broke it, since for most Unforgivable Acts, the punishment was execution. It kept soldiers and men alike in line. A Prince could be executed for the same reasons, if the King wouldn't pardon his heinous acts. Autzen was far too noble to do anything like rape or beat a woman or desert his own army, and therefore had never even considered what his father might do if the situation arose. His father wouldn't have that choice soon. This marriage was a sealing on Autzen's prompt coronation.

He had half a mind to destroy the treaty the moment the crown was put on his head. He could imagine his talons, or his blade, slicing across the delicate little feline throats and allowing the blood to run red down the steps to his throne, like a macabre river. Autzen snarled at the thought and some around him looked up as his horse leisurely loped by them. He wanted to end the war once and for all, and killing off the last surviving royal felines would be a decisive win against the Mad King and would be barely payback enough for the death of his little brother. The kid had been so innocent, and had followed Autzen and his brothers on his fat little pony to the battlefield, where he had been found—and not by Autzen. A gift had come for the Dragons from the Felines, and it was a tiny box, with his brother and a dagger in his heart laying inside. Autzen had wanted to go on a rampage and burn every single last cat that remained alive but his brothers literally restrained him. Autzen was a strong Prince, and would be a good King, but he had a temper and a strong, unwavering sense of justice.

In truth, Autzen hid his crushing sadness behind his anger. And that was why his brothers had not hurt him when they had restrained him—they had only just held him back, not allowing him to do something that'd probably have killed him. Their faces had all been masks of grief, but because of Autzen's absentee mother (she spent her days whoring herself out to country boys in her plush estate, far away from Autzen's dying father), and Autzen's father being sick these last few years, his little brother had been more than that. Almost a son, but not. His brother had looked at him with such blatant admiration and lust to be like his oldest brother that Autzen couldn't have helped loving him. And seeing him in that box, bruised, frozen, and stabbed through the heart . . . it had broken something that'd take a miracle to mend within him. So young, too. Autzen would be one of the youngest Kings to take the throne in the Dragonlands. Autzen glanced once more around him, kissing his freedom goodbye. From now on he would never have a moment to himself. If he wasn't doing something for the Kingship or the Kingdom itself, his time would be spent in the company of his "Queen," a feline. The same kind he'd been slaughtering the past few days while he still could. The same kind of whose blood was on armor.

Autzen kicked his steed in the sides to spur him on, and the beast rose into a fast canter, meeting several of his brothers and fellow knights at the front of the small party that would be riding home to meet the Feline Princesses at the altar. Oh, that would be fun. Autzen had left blood caked on his armor and his boots purposefully, just for the occasion. God damn if he was going to accept the Feline taking the title that came with her being his wife; she would never be his true Queen. She was not worthy to rule over a Dragon nation. The Felines were so cowardly; they had not even fought alongside their own men for the past few years, or had lingered behind the front lines when Dragon taunts became too much. Autzen sneered at the thought, and looked to the left, at one of the commanders of the Dragon Army (one of the ones who hadn't deserted when the war had "ended"), whereas Autzen was acting General (had been for around a year now) while his father was . . . indisposed, and unable to conduct the business, and caught his eye. The commander nodded then returned his attention to the road ahead of them. Autzen was a good General, if a bit reckless. Every Dragon his age was, though.

"Let's ride!" Autzen commanded, jerking his reins so his horse wheeled on his back heels so that Autzen faced his brothers and his fellows. "We've got some felines to wed," Autzen told them, his voice considerably darker, his eyes sparkling with mischief, and completely blood red. He'd never hit or harm the Princesses, not so long as he chose to uphold the treaty (Autzen still wouldn't prolong their suffering at all, if he chose to end the treaty if it really wasn't working), but being as much of an a** as was possible to the murderers of his little brother was something that he could very well get away with. He'd be a dutiful husband but nothing more than what was necessary to carry on the royal lineage. Autzen turned the horse on his heels again, and they set off to the castle. Once they had ridden hard through most of the day and had traveled a considerable amount North, they crossed though the capital city of the Northernmost Dragonlands, with its wide streets and shuttered windows around dusk. The wide streets were so that Dragons could easily navigate them, if need be. Autzen felt his longing for home grow stronger the closer they got to it; he understood the soldiers' homesickness, but what was popular and what was necessary were often times two different things.

Ha, Autzen thought, that was what my father told me when he revealed that I'd be wedding a damned kitten. Autzen shook his head, and snowflakes fluttered from his hair to his shoulders. Some of the mud had either fallen or frozen off, but the blood was still on his skin, and there was a spatter or two on his neck and cheek, from when he'd beheaded one of the deserters when he'd caught them trying to leave camp. Not all blood that colored him red was Feline's, though he'd never let them be the wiser. When they finally arrived to the castle of Dragons, they were greeted by a shout to open the gates and a few "Hail!" shouts. Once in the courtyard, several servants rushed from the stables to assist the Princes with their horses and to direct them to where they would be marrying the Princess. Autzen knew where he was going. The Throne Hall, where the kittens would be waiting for them. Autzen hoped his soon-to-be-wife liked how he looked.

Though, even covered in a bit of mud and some blood, he was still a handsome man. He was exceedingly tall compared to stunted little kittens like the Caterali, and even by most Dragon standards. His cheekbones were high, but not too high, and his jawline was sharp but not too pronounced. His hair was the color of a raven's feather, so dark it reflected color back on its surface. And his eyes, normally a light blue, were a deep red, the color of his House. Later, though, he wouldn't be in armor. His father had put a rush order on the marriage so neither party had time to get their wits about them and back out of this whole deal. He'd dress in his Princely finery later, as any Prince of his rank would. No more grime. No, then it would be time to be the Prince he knew he was, arrogant and smug, with an underlying of venom reserved just for the one he was supposed to be marrying.

Autzen dismounted, stretching a bit as snow fell harder. It would be deep winter by the time the sun fell beneath the horizon. The seasons came and went over the course of a week, and stayed for months. They had a week of spring before the warm temperatures of summer set in, and about a month of steadily dropping temperatures that some called Autumn, warning of a long Winter ahead of them. Autzen took his riding gloves off and handed them to the nearest servant along with his riding cloak. He rubbed his hands together, breathing a bit of fire over them. He did not burn; Fire could not harm a Dragon. Most believed that it was what they were made of. Their body temperatures far exceeded the Felines' and it was second nature to a Dragon to breathe the fire that smoldered within them. Autzen lead his brothers down the hall, where the doors were opened for them. An intake of breath could be heard, and then sniveling laughter. Of course, the purpose of their dirtiness would be obvious.

When Autzen got to the pedestal where his bride waited for him, he grinned, showing off his sharp canines and red eyes. "My Lady, forgive me my tardiness. I was hunting." he said. She didn't need to know he meant hunting deserters and putting their heads on spikes—for all she would know, he could've meant hunting down Cats that strayed too far into the Dragon encampments. He, of course, did not bow to her. As was customary in the Dragon hierarchy, one only bowed to someone that outranked you, and for Autzen, the only man who outranked him, currently, was his father. Autzen climbed the steps to stand beside her. "Now, I'm sure you already know my name but in case you do not, it is Autzen Dragomir. I know yours, Kiara." He told her. He heard his father stirring somewhere outside the thronehall, accompanied by the four Priests that would preside over the ceremony. "I hope you are ready to begin the ceremony; I can hear the King and his attendants outside this very room already." he told her. He surveyed her like a falcon might survey prey from a distance, and smirked. "Dragon thread suits you, my Lady." He told her, offering his hand to her so they could await the ceremony to begin.

It would be a brief one, and then the Princes would be sent off to clean themselves and prepare for the reception, where a dinner and a party of sorts would ensue. The ceremony itself was simple. A Fire Priest would come forth at Autzen's father's nod to commence the wedding ceremony, and a red, black, silver and white scarf would be wrapped around their hands that would be, by then, clutching a goblet filled with the customary Strongwine, spiced with blood. Animal blood, most likely. Autzen didn't think she would mind; both of their breeds were predators. And once their hands were tied, he would take her and kiss her, sealing their bond and then drinking from the same cup as she. Their ribbon would remained tied until they exited the Thronehall, where they would be disentangled and sent on their way—her to a warm room to await the Princes' retrieval, and the brothers to their respective chambers to prepare for the long night ahead.

Kiara stood on the alter and glanced around the room, this was ridiculous she was a warrior and she was standing here dressed in a gown, a wedding gown. Yes it was beautiful, the problem was? She was not going to marry the man she loved no she was marrying the enemy. Her long black hair fell down her back in a braid with golden strings through it. Her tattoos seemed to gleam in the torch light and her golden eyes seemed to hold so much anger. She was also in pain, when she had returned from the field to confront their father about this arrangement the man had had her beaten, of course nothing that would be seen by these men but at least two ribs were broken and her wrist was sprained and a few other things. Their father had always been abusive, wanting to create perfect soldiers from his children, the fact he had females was just another black spot against them. Kiara was the eldest and she had taken the brunt of the abuse for so long, it had been hell but keeping her sisters safe was key, but now she didn’t have that either. They had been sold off to the king of their enemy so that their father could save his own skin.

She snarled and turned back towards the other pedestals, this was stupid they were standing there like they were pieces of property and that was just not going to do in her world. If this prince thought she would be some submissive woman he could toss around he had another thing coming. She was a warrior and she was not going to take it from a dragon. She would have run had it not been for her sisters, they needed her here and so she had come, she had let the dragon maids scrub her skin raw put powder on her face, they had tried to cover her markings to no avail, and stick her in this gown, yes she thought it beautiful but it was not what she should be wearing. She should be back in her armour with her sword in hand, she had forged the blade herself and it was a masterpiece. Her dress was flowy and black and white, the colors matched her well, the sleeves were long and hung down passed her hands in angel like sleeves. The hood was nice as it was cold, not as cold as it could be but her lands were warmer than the dragon lands.

She looked at her their sisters standing in their own gowns, she really wanted to get out of here, she could see this all going wrong and she didn’t want to be there when it happened. “Stupid dragons better hurry up. Standing here like this is just ridiculous.” She grumbled, yes she was in a foul mood and it was starting to become difficult to breath. The corset was making everything worse. She licked her lips and leaned against a pillar. The room was beautiful and had it been a different circumstances she would have been thrilled. She had loved someone back home, in secret, well not from her sisters, but he was gone now and she was standing here waiting for something, something she wasn’t sure she was going to like. Then the men came in and her golden eyes flashed as she watched them bloody and dirty from their fighting and travels. Autzen, the man she was to wed walked towards her and spoke. "My Lady, forgive me my tardiness. I was hunting." She smirked when he thought the state of him would bother her, she had looked worse while fighting on the field. “it seems your hunt was successful, How many of your own did you kill on the way back? How many ignored your orders m’lord?” it was a curious question but like his words insult laced them easily.
"Now, I'm sure you already know my name but in case you do not, it is Autzen Dragomir. I know yours, Kiara.". "I hope you are ready to begin the ceremony; I can hear the King and his attendants outside this very room already." she looked him over just as she knew he was doing to her. "Dragon thread suits you, my Lady." She nodded and took his hand, she was in a lot of pain and she wanted to get this over with and sit down and rest before she had to deal with them again. “thank you m’lord, it seems they knew my colors before I even arrived, the gown is beautiful. Now let us go and be wed as is what has been ordered of us.” She turned forward and began to walk beside him. She glanced at her sisters and gave a small nod trying to give them courage and strength in this time.

The war had ended and it left many hurt, bloody, mentally scared and so much more. Many friends died over this long war. brave men sacrificed their lives for this. Though they all had the same thought in mind. to avenge the life of the fallen prince. those damn felines crossed the line of no return when they killed an innocent boy. the youngest prince no less. the memories of that horrible day still rang threw his mind. seeing his lifeless form in a box looking to be asleep except he had a knife threw the heart. part of him died that day, but he never let it show. he never let the pain he felt show. the only thing he let show was the anger he felt. nothing mattered any more after that. all that mattered was making those useless felines pay. every single one of them had to pay. he remembered having to hold his oldest brother back while he tried to rip the men carrying the box to shreds. though part of him wanted to do the same thing.

They were now waiting for the orders from Autzen to head home. home... once a place of piece now would turn to hell. waiting for them were 4 bitches that they would be married to. he wondered how the 'princess' that was waiting for him would take to him. how he would he control himself from not killing the girl and spilling her blood on the pretty covers of the bed they would be sharing from now on? she wasn't worth living. her family didn't give one rats a** about what happened to his brother. they didn't care about the s**t they have done and pulled. they were weak and didn't deserve to live on this world. Yet their father agreed to this marriage. at least they would be forced to live in their kingdom. it made a smirk show on his face knowing they would suffer in a world they weren't use to. where it was mostly winter year round. they were forced to stay among dragons. this should be interesting to watch.

Hearing Autzen's voice snapped Alexander out of his thoughts and looked at him. he could see his eyes and knew his thoughts where the same. He knew his mind was else where as well. with the command set, he kicked his horse into gear and rode along side his brothers back to where their fates where held. part of him didn't know if he wanted to go back. it wasn't the same anymore. Giovanni wasn't there anymore. He would hear the sound of his laughter any more. or be woken up when he got a nightmare. no more stories to be read before bed. nothing, just a sick father and what awaited them. he a least got the satisfaction of knowing that he killed many of their kind. he tore into the flesh and watched their blood being spilled. he wished he hadn't lost his best friend in the war. but he held him as he died and was there for him. it caused him to loose the hearing in his left ear, but at least he could hear still out of his right. at least someone he cared about didn't die alone. he wouldn't let that happen again. he wished it didn't happen at all.

The castle was now in few and Alexander growled and a twisted smirk showed on his face. soon he'd meet his bride to be. He knew what was on the agenda today, but he planned on bitching threw the party. parties bored him. he enjoyed practicing in the training grounds. though he did enjoy the drinks and the food. When they arrived he jumped off his horse and stretched. his muscles ached and his head was sore, but the feel of the cold air helped. he took a look at himself and smirked. so much blood on his armor. tisk tisk that would be rude of him to show up covered in the blood of his soon to be useless extra baggage's kind all over him. then again it could also be considered a warning. oh well guess she'd have to deal with it. part of him wanted to wear her blood and he had to shake his head to remove those delicious thoughts. 'at least i'm not alone in this......i won't be the only one suffering...' he thought and then shook his head again removing the snow from his hair. he then looked at the sky and hummed, 'how i feel right now..... cold.....and dark' smirking at this, he fallowed his brothers into the thrown room where 4 felines waited for them. this made a grown escape from his lips, but he quickly composed himself and then walked in.

When his eyes laid on his useless baggage the first thought in Alexander's mind was, 'she's a ******** weakling!!!!!!!!! great i get suck with a thing i have to protect.... then again... if it has an accident... no more marriage' again a smirk appeared and he mentally purred. Walking up to the thing, Alexander looked her up and down, "my lady I'm so glad that you have arrived safely. I do apologize for being late." he told her and stood next to the thing looking at her closely. he then took her hand and kissed it, "I'm Alexander Maverick Dragomir. pleasure to meet you Ms. Firiel" he told her and rolled his eyes some. he then had to wonder if he could 'accidentally' make her trip and fall. no not yet.... they had to make it at least to 'you may kiss the bride' again he had to roll his eyes. he had to kiss this thing. was he going to get sick from kissing her? did it have a feline illness? Looking at her outfit he gave her a fake smile, "our colors suit you my lady. are you warm enough?" he asked her to be polite though he really didn't give a s**t.

Hearing his father's voice made Alex turn his head. oh ******** it was starting... he really had to do this. he was forced to this thing till death to them part. gods he hoped that she would drop dead soon. looking at his bride to be, he smirked and tilted his head, "are you ready to be man and wife? your not going to chicken out are you?" oh please chicken out! please please chicken out! though he doubted she would. guess he just had to show her what she'd be married to in due time. he didn't know weather to laugh or cry. maybe this would be fun after all.

    Corren Rune Dragomir

    ~Second Eldest Prince~
    ****************************************************************
Corren sighed as he rode the horse he was in no rush to make his horse go faster then it's counter as the slower he went the longer he was still a free man out of his soon to be wife's clutches. Though he could see and understand his fathers view with this strategic wedding. Not only would it end this war, but it would unite the other kingdom under his older brother and in a way expanding the dragon empire. On top of that but marrying all of his sons to the daughters of the kingdom would also hopefully reduce the amount of assassins on his older brother as if he passed with out a heir the next to inherit would be himself. As Corren himself was still married to a Caterali it would ensure both kingdoms still be united so on and so forth. Though Corren knew that there would still be assassins and radicals who opposed this and was thankful that his brothers were made of pretty tough metal.... metaphorically speaking.

Corren looked over to Autzen and sighed. "I see no reason to rush Autzen make them wait... I'm in no rushed to have the chains of marriage thrust upon me." Corren stated blandly. Corren was not a fan of unnecessary killing his youngest brothers murder still left a bitter taste in his mouth. Being one of the first to hold Autzen back when he lost it, Corren understood his brothers feeling all to well. Part of him wanted to hold his soon to be wife and sister in-laws responsible for Giovanni's death, but Corren's mind didn't let him forget that it was not necessarily their own hands that had killed his once vibrant little brother. It still did not stop Corren's own morose feelings of which he bottled within. He remembered his brother as an energetic little dragon and one who's over teaming curiosity got him into much trouble. Giovanni's smile was a contagious one that Corren would sorely miss.

Corren looked to his other brothers noting their grim expressions as none of them were looking forward to this fast union, and though he did not crave bloody revenge tot he same degree as he thought some of his brothers might it reminded him of how much he was the odd sheep within the family. Even his shifted form had feathered wings rather then the traditional webbed wings his brother all sported and his flame was not red but blue. Not to mention how white his other form was, Corren remembered his older brother and then his younger brothers all jumping in and teasing him about that when they were all much younger.

Corren bowed his head for a moment as they continued on, taking quiet solace in listening and focusing on the sounds of the horses hoof beats. When they arrived to their home he let out a sigh as he got off his horse and handed his horses rains and his ridding gloves as he had no cape to fuss over. Corren was well aware of how filthy he was but what did one expect when they rushed a union in this manner. he took a calming breath before he followed his brother's entrance in. Corren could feel the stairs and hear the chuckles as he strode over to where his future wife awaited. Corren then paused before the pedestal wordlessly scrutinizing the way his wife to be looked and presented herself. Once this was done Corren took a step up next to her and held his hand out flat to her not yet saying a word to her, A smile absent from his face.

        • Ame stood with her back to the door, listening more than seeing. Anger swelled in her breast to the boiling point, threatening to overflow. A tumultuous storm rage inside, masked by her calm demeanor. She wanted to kick, scream. She wanted to make the change, tearing out of this wedding gown prison and feel the impact of her claws digging into flesh. Some retaliation, some backbone was all she wanted to display. It was hard to be seen as a strong, willful Cat in the state she was in. Her lips and eyes painted to accentuate her features. Slight lining around her pale green eyes contrasted with the red rouge on her lips. Her hair was pulled up in coiled braids, little tendrils having escaped from the pins fell to her shoulders. Her hands wringed nervously as she waited for the sound of the men. She didn’t want marriage, she never wanted marriage. Ame had intended on being single for the rest of her life. The lovely bachelorette warrior princess, it was a much more entertaining life that marriage. Especially if it was to one of those lizards.

She took a deep breath and felt her skin pull away from the tight bodice for just a moment. They had been wearing these dresses for a good while now and the constricting clothes were maddening. It took every ounce of control not to let her fidgeting hands move to the skirt in an attempt to pull it off or down, or just somewhere other than where it was. She knew the dragons lining the room were watching them, judging them. She didn’t need their judgment, or their opinions that she knew were so solidly formed in their stupid little heads. Though, she could help but give a little smile at her sister’s complaint. Ame looked up to her sister, she really did. She did not always agree with Kiara’s actions and they occasionally fought, but when it came down to it, they were sisters after all. Ame gave into the urge and tugged at the bodice, trying to loosen it a little bit to breath. Her gown was beautiful, just not something Ame would have ever picked out on her own. Too flashy, too much of everything really. Though, She thought, I do like the flowers.. Ame could appreciate the workmanship, but not the occasion for which she had to wear it.

Ame was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the door open and the men enter. She stopped the nervous tick with her hands and let them fall to her sides. Despite her frustration she let her face break into a demur smile. While aggravating, this was a game, one she intended to play through to the end. However, her nose crinkled up in annoyed disgust when she saw the blood and dirt they were caked in. Oh, they could wear what they liked and make a spectacle of themselves, but she and her sisters were to be dolled up and put through all the infuriating motions? Typical, pompous dragons.

When one separated himself from the crowd, stopped to look her over, and then stepped up to stand beside her, holding out his hand without saying a damn word. Chagrined, she reached out and took his hand, her own shaking with rage. They show up filthy, then this one has the audacity to just walk up here without so much of a word. Fine. If he wants to play that game, it’s fine by me. Cold blooded b*****d. All semblance of amusement and her smile, fake or otherwise, disappeared from her face in a heart beat. Deciding she was not going to be sucked down to his level, she spoke to him without looking at him, keeping her eyes forward and away from that fools face.

“I am Princess Ame Caterali. It’s a pleasure”

She had to fight back the urge to add on ‘you filthy reptile’ to the end of her introduction but decided it would be best to keep that to herself for now. If their families had their way, she was looking at spending plenty of time with him so she didn’t exactly have anything to worry about not having enough time to insult him and his family. She’d get around to it, that much was certain. Having steeled herself to prepare for what was to come, she stood tall. Glancing out of the corners of her eyes she saw her younger sisters being strong, and that was almost enough to bring a smile to her face, even in the given situation. It was really a lot to be married to someone who not only wasn’t the same species as you, but to have them be complete, hateful, strangers as well? She had a sinking feeling that this was all going to go downhill very fast but again, she kept that to herself.

          What a mess.
