The Sins of the Past

And Chaos consumed the world.

A millennia ago a war raged that consumed the whole planet. No creature could stay out of the war, man and beast fought to seize control and to rule all the land. The war lasted many years leaving scars upon the earth. So much blood was spilt that some say the land and seas were drenched and stained by it. When the war started it was between many sides and as it dragged on those who were vying for control were weeded out one way or another. It narrowed down to two sides that fought more viciously than anyone had during the entire war. The war ended when Aria confined the Vryll to a small continent and cursed their land so it would never see the sun or the stars. Vryll was demoralized and surrendered not long after the Land was cast into eternal darkness. Aria was the clear victor but they did not lay claim to the whole world. The remaining smaller countries were cared for by Aria until they could manage on their own. Then Aria would pull out of the Foreign land and return to their home.

In my final moments.

I, Eryat, have failed my people and left them in a wretched state and in our lapse of judgment we took our time for granted our time of peace; we thought no tragedy could befall us. We neglected our defenses and now my people have suffered. Vryll took advantage of laxity and built of up their forces and have taken our home. So many brave heroes have died to defend our people, their homes, and their lives. The Vryll came in fast and in one day they had seized our shore and set up their foothold in our land. In five days they pushed us to the other side of our continent. I have bid my children farewell and I shall use the last of my strength to prevent the Vryll from reaching my people. I hope my children and my people will forgive me for not being able to protect and for leaving them to face the aftermath alone. There were sign though. If I had been more vigilant I could have prevented all of this from happening to my people. I, Eryat, King of Aria do this last act as my duty as king to protect my people. I erect this barrier to protect my people knowing that my people will be safe behind it.

We all must suffer.

Now, fifteen years later, Divided from Vryll and their homeland the people of Aria live in peace. Though they have learned from their past mistakes and have built up an army to defend themselves if the barrier should ever be broken. They stand ready to greet Vryll at any time with the taste of their steel, and show them that the people of Aria are not to be trifled with as they were before. Though their hatred runs deep one must not forget that the foundations for this hatred were laid down long before this generations was born and they have paid for their ancestor’s fogged judgments with their own blood. Both sides are victims of their past.

Aria

Arians Have lived in peace and prosperity and harmony with Vryll for centuries or so they thought. Now that the Arians confined to a small portion of land and have had their numbers drastically reduced by the Vryll’s invasion the most of the remaining people of Aria harbor hatred for the Vryll. After their king’s death his eldest son Roland was the next in line for the throne. Roland was too young to take the throne so the High Council ruled until he was able to be named king. Now that he is king the High Council advises him on decisions to help guide him on the path to becoming a king worthy of his people. The people of Aria live comfortably behind the barrier contempt in their false sense of security. Their knights patrol the borders ready to protect the citizens at a moment’s notice.

Fangs of Fernir is made of the elite warriors of Aria. They must go through a rite of passage. To become a Fang one must journey to the Northern Plains of Yggdrasil. It is a harsh environment in which they must survive and find a wolf pup. When they make it back they are welcomed back as a full-fledged member of the pack. The knight and the wolf form a bond that lasts for the rest of their lives. The wolves grow so large that the knight can ride upon them. They are fearless and when they fight, they fight as one. All of their movement are coordinated and their strikes precise. Their cunning is has earned them a reputation on the battlefield. They have turned the tides of battles many times.

Vryll

Vryll had their land covered in darkness by the Arians a century ago. The Ancestors of Aria sought control of all the land so they set out to fight the Vryll. Vryll was able to push them back but paid a high price by having their land cast in an eternity of night. When King Hector ascended to the throne after his father’s passing he vowed to get retribution for his people. No longer would they be forced to live in the darkness. He promised that they would once again bathe in the sunlight one more. He tried negotiation at first to remove the curse but he could never get an audience with the king of Aria and so he took the only available path, war. He invaded Aria and took their land from them. The people of Vryll, finally able to bath in the sun, live in happiness. Their army stands in wait at the barrier should it ever waiver. Hector has expressed his distaste for violence but he will not let his people be forced to live in darkness again.

The Wings of Bahamut ride on dragons which they are linked to even before birth. Attached, bound together to each other by the very fabric of fate itself. The Wings of Bahamut are the Vryll’s frontline forces and most elite knights. Their name strikes fear, their presence demoralizes the enemy, and their prowess is unmatched. The Wings are vast in number so much so that it is said that the presence of the entire force is able to block out the sun. Their dragons vary in their elements and have a high intellect. They are not mere pets for they can think for themselves.

Appearance: User Image

Name: Azami

Alias:

Played by: Az Shadowpaw

Age: 12

Race: human

Bio: Azami was born into a hard oppressive life, three years had passed since the occupation of Aria. By the time she was six, both parents had died, her father in a short lived rebellion and her mother from illness. She fell into a gang of like-aged street rats where she learned her trade. How to pickpocket, steal, and most importantly, how to survive on those oppressed Arian streets. Like most Arian, she took despises the Vryl and makes it a point to steal from them.

Alignment: Aria

Weapon/ability: Whether it’s two daggers or two shortswords, Azami is hailed(among her friends) as a dual wielding genius. She fights down and dirty with no set style. As with all thieves she is nimble, quick-witted and light on her feet. Her reflexes are cat-like in prowess. She holds a number of ninja-like moves, smoke bombs and tricks up her sleeve for quick escapes.
Currently she wields a magical tanto called "Dusk". It is an ancient magical artifact that is said to have a pair and together form a greater power. But....she's just using it because it looks cool.

Appearance: User Image
Name: Willow Fosten
Alias: None
Played by: Desyre-Sin
Age: twenty
Race: half human half Elf
Bio: Willow was brought up by her father, a pure human as it would seem. Her mother was someone she never got to know, and therefore she was brought up as a human, never learning of elven traditions or beliefs. She did however learn that she was able to call upon the element of light, and in doing so she learned how to heal small wounds when she was quite young. With this gift she went on to be an apprentice medicine woman and in time became a full-blown doctor herself. Despite her knowledge of the feud between Aria and Vryll, she’s never really understood the resentment herself. She holds no hatred to either side and decided that she would always remain neutral. This also meant that if she were ever to run into someone from Vryll who was injured she would with no doubt, help that person. By the time Willow turned nineteen she had moved away from the little town she was born and raised in and moved to the heart of Aria where the king and queen reigned strongly. She opened her own small practice within the city, helping anyone, even if they didn’t have the money to pay her. Willow simply believed that her power to heal was a gift and shouldn’t be used for money, but to help anyone she could.
Alignment: Aria
Weapon/ability: Able to use a bit of the element of light and is quite skilled at healing.

Appearance: User Image
Name: Lenore Al Balecrest
Alias: Al
Played by: MyHeartsABattleGround
Age: 52
Race: Elemental
Bio: Queen Lenore is the birth mother of Aura Balecrest, and the current King Roland and wife to to the late King of Aria thus making her the ex-queen of Aria. Her beginning wasn't always that of royalty however and to be precise she was once nothing more then a single face in the crowd, a face with giant ears and beautiful eyes mind you.

She was the adopted child of a cobbler and therefore she was not very rich, or even considered poor to be exact. She lived on the outskirts of the city as to entire would mean having to have money and that was something she didn't have. One day however, her father sent her out to collect a few scraps of leather and nails to continue his work, and that was when fate and chance intertwined and the girl so happened to hear about Eryat's birthday being held at the castle. Curious the girl snuck in around the backside of the castle by climbing an old vine. She would make her way past guards, hallways, maids, servants, and even personal guards just so she could see what the king looked like.

Before she could spot him however the guards had caught the sneaky thing and were about to pitch her out the door when they called to come to a stop. There she met the king first hand, and not too long after she had fallen in love with him. They were wed and the girl who once had nothing was now queen of the country of Aria.

She became a fair and just queen and the mother of the princess. She ruled kindly and fairly until the day the king died, when that day came the woman stepped down and took her place merely living in the castle walls. She was still revered as the mother of the king but since has not had the want or need to be queen again. Now she spends most of her days living calmly and peaceably.
Alignment: Aria
Weapon/ability: Lenore carries no weapons on her nor has she ever. Being an elemental however she has quite a keen control over air and water. To be precise she can create monsoons, tornadoes, and anything else that the wind and water can conjure up. She hardly uses it for this purpose however, as she uses it mainly for healing.

Gaia name: Karei_Doragon
Character name: Luna (for short)
race: Elf
occupation: Knight; New Initiate; Druid
Gender: Female
age: Young Adult
Bio: Living for over a century and a half, she had just now come of age to be considered an adult among her peers and family. Due to the recent calamity of the Vryll ravaging the land she turned her know how of Druidic spells from healing and helping to manipulate the very elements into a formidable destructive force. The Undead have wrought a hell onto the Earth and she felt the very essence of Gaia scream in pain and anguish. An ultimate ruefulness unmatched by mortal emotion washed over her and a vengeance was born. Bound and determined she had found the Order and joined with a very strong and convincing argument.. She remembers what life was like without the Vryll and intends to restore the world to it's former glory.

As far as her history beyond the order, she doesn't care to talk about it much. It was the standard life of an elf, with the self discovery that comes with living over one hundred years and the enlightenment of taking the path of a Druid.

Her personality varies on the situation. Over all she's a realist that has a vast sense of humor with broad side of sarcasm. When talking about the Vryll, it's all business and she's very serious about her work on the field because lives are at stake. She's not the vigilantly type unless she thinks it's an act that is unavoidable. Her heart is warm and caring and she's pretty fun when you get to know her. Due to her age she often times listens before she speaks and those around her like to talk to her because she always has open ears and an open mind.

Allegiance: Order

People of Vryll

Appearance:User Image
Name: Reken Pendragon
Alias: none he just makes up last names
Played by: Ahzrin
Age:24
Race:Human
Alignment: Vryll
Bio: Reken like all other most Vryll was born into a world without sun. Growing up he heard the stories that other children heard. The stories of how Aria cursed our homeland forcing us to never see the sun. Reken always wondered what it was like when he was younger. Everyone always described as a light so bright it lit up the sky. Reken was royalty so his father groomed him from a young age to fight and use his magic. His father was a King and warrior and it showed to Reken even at a younger age. His father’s training was ruthless though he never once complained or cried. Reken’s mother was kind to him always making sure he read books and studied so he wouldn’t just be a mindless warrior who only thought of war. Both her and his father instilled into him a sense of morals at a young age.

Reken remembered when his dad started the invasion. He was happy like everyone else at the time. They were going travel across the ocean and take Aria’s land from them since they would not lift the curse. When Reken got older he wished for a better way for peace instead of the millions of people who had to die for Vryll to bask in the sun. He saw the hate for Arian people that had been left on the other side of the barrier. He saw the hatred and discrimination they bared and so he left his home and it wasn’t long before word spread of his missing. He now spends his time training and seeking out a solution to the problem so that no one else has to die for the decisions in the past.
Weapon/ability: Skill with swords and spears. Versed in Divine and fire magics.

Others

Appearance: The High Elf
Name: Tirtariel du Aldaelwa
Alias: Tir
Played by: Shadeius
Age: 110
Race: Eladrin or High Elf, the race from which all other elf sub-races have began
Bio: Tirtariel, or simply Tir, is an elf from the world of fey where the most of her kin resides. That world is called the Feywild and is separate yet same world as the world of mortals as it is the dream of the mortal world where everything lives in harmony with the world.

Tir, like the most of her kind, was raised in the Feywilds and she had relatively normal childhood where she learned everything she needed to survive alone from cooking to building her own house. The reason behind this was that every member of eldaring community were expected to be completely independent from others. She as also taught swordsmanship from the moment she was strong enough to wield a sword so when needed she could defend herself from harm.

As Tir grew and became stronger she became interested in the mortal world because, while she had read many bad things about it, it was a world which seemed to be full of wonders beyond what the Feywild could offer. She started to teach herself languages of different mortal races and how they interacted between each other so she would be ready when she would go to that wondrous world.

When Tir became 110 summers old and she was finally considered an adult she bid her farewells to her friends and family as she opened the portal to this new world and step through it.
Alignment: Neutral, but she will arrive to Vryll through her portal.
Weapon/ability:
∙ Sabre "Caunwen" - While made with amazing craftsmanship by a master blacksmith at Tir's home town and given enchantment so that it wouldn't break there is nothing else special about it.
∙ "Magic" - While Tir's talent is not real magic it is the only single word which would describe it. She can bend forces of nature to her aid by asking help from spirits which inhabit everywhere where is life. Meaning she can ask fire spirits to create a fireball to attack her enemies. The reason why this isn't considered magic is because the source of this power is nature spirits instead of arcane. Tir specialise in using Wind Spirits.
This however this has two weaknesses:
        1. Tir cannot create any elements thus those elements need to be present to cast the spells.
        2. The spell's power comparable to amount of spirits so if there is only a small flame in the area and Tir wants to use a fire spell it just as strong as the original flame. For example with a single candle's flame Tir can light another candle but not create destructive fireball to attack her enemies.

Posts light in orange dancing flames were scattered about kingdom. From a distance it would look as if the stars themselves had fallen from the sky. Streamers and garlands of flowers hung over shops and across booths. Music and laughter filled the air. A cheerful melody echoed beyond the crowd of towns man. The scents of flowers filled the air. It was officially the first day of Spring. The annual Arian Spring festival had continued on well past sundown. Venders sold carts of flowers on the side streets and children ran around with colored ribbon while dressed in their Sunday best. Men swooshed around their ail while the women danced with their husbands.

It was a night of celebration. Aura was in the middle of the stage dancing to a slower couples song. Gracefully she glided across the floor in a long red gown. The sleeves puffed at her shoulders and flared down at the elbow. The corseted top strung up in the back and was made in a heart shaped cut and flattered her figure. A metal staff was strapped to her back, she did not go anywhere without it. Aura was wearing her signature jewelry tonight. It included gold bangles at her upper arms, large teal gems over the top of her hands with a matching head peace over her forehead and yet she wore a small modest golden necklace to keep from taking away from the dress. Her silver hair was pulled back and pinned with an assortment of small blue and pink flowers. Around her neck there was even a loral of freshly weaved daisies. The dress swayed across the floor as she smiled politely back at Lord Bastion, the most recent nobleman her brother had tried to set her up with. He was in his mid twenties and handsome. Any girl in the kingdom would happily bare his children. Not Aura. She was hoping to make it through the night.

Finally the song ended and a new one began. A fast paced melody started and the dancers prepared themselves in new positions, each partner standing across from the other in a line. Soon she was switching partners and dancing. Even Orbo was getting into the celebration. The enthusiastic sphere bobbed up and down in circles around the young princess. When she reached the edge of the stage it found itself a dancing partner with one of the children who jumped up and tried to grab it. The sphere lifted up and spun the child a few times before dropping her down. This caught the attention of the other children who ran over to take a turn on the new ride. Aura had unfortunately returned to Lord Bastion when she saw the children and began to laugh.

Lenore Al Balecrest

Lenore watched as the celebration went on, children still playing with the ex-queen, as she would hold her hand out and they would take her finger. She would then help them twirl about in place, a smile plastered to her face as she did so. A few of the more rowdy children had grabbed hold of her tail that was gently swaying to the music, this caught the ex-queen's attention and she would lift the children up off the ground by her tail, and wave it until they let go. Her thoughts however were more focused on her daughter and this man she was dancing with. Of course, he was handsome and many a females dream, but a mother knows when her child is not interested in someone. He could smile at her daughter all he wanted Lenore had a feeling she wouldn't be marrying this man. Which suited Lenore just fine.

The woman stood up and slowly made her way towards the stage, her long blue hair tied up in an intricate bun, her small crown still perched gently atop her head. The woman was still royalty after all and no one ever wanted to see that title stripped from her, she was still a person with authority and she still had her ways of getting things done. Regardless the beautiful maiden made her way towards her daughter, her delicate feet padding along the ground in a grace most unbefitting of a woman her age.

Her stride was still sexy, and she still knew how to sway those hips from side to side, and swish that tail in a most seductive way. Her smile was a beacon for most men to try and go for, and those big ears just made her all the more adorable. Then there were her radiant green eyes, eyes that her husband once found himself always staring into, something he loved more then anything were those eyes of hers. They were such a wonderful shade of green, almost like the green of a forest. Regardless she still moved with grace, pride and strength. It was like time would have to try much, much harder to take anything away from this woman.

When she stepped onto the stage she was immediately greeted by a young man half her age asking for a dance. With a polite bow of her head she would smile to him and giggle. "Forgive me, but I cannot take this dance. I wish to dance with my daughter before the night is out." Lenore said with another light nod. The man would smile and back away from her giving her room to walk. "Thank you very much, maybe after my dance with my daughter I shall seek you out." With that Lenore would leave the man's company and make a beeline straight for Aura, completely ignoring the other dancers.

Once she had gotten to her daughter she would look between the princess and the man and just speak to them both. "Excuse me, but I've been sitting back this entire night and have finally decided a dance. Might I have my daughter's hand for this dance and possibly a few next?" Lenore asked them both. She only really cared about Aura's choice however, for if the man didn't agree it wasn't like Lenore would listen anyways. "Well? I'm awfully bored now, and would love nothing more then to enjoy what's left of this day." She said gently once more with a delicate nod to her hand.

Lenore was always so protective of Aura, she didn't know why. She was never overly protective of her son, the king, but maybe that's because she felt he could do things on his own. As for her daughter, she was her little angel and Lenore had to do everything in her power to keep her that way. So, Lenore would stand, hand outstretched, and her ears flattened to her head in an attempt to make herself look pitiful, which wasn't that hard. Lenore used to get by with things when she was queen just by looking so sad, and so pitiful that people would feel sorry for her.

Soft silver eyes gazed on at the festivities, a pale silvery haired woman standing off to the side away from the dancers. She didn't often dance, but she did enjoy watching the couples mingle and the happy faces of the children as they played. Willow pursed her lips slightly, a soft smile finding it's way to her lips. No one had come to her hurt in the past two days, which was always a very comforting thing, and a festival was too much fun to pass up. Of course she wouldn't do any couple mingling, she wasn't exactly the flirting type after all. Her long silver hair was curled and half pinned up so it wouldn't drag along the ground. She had adorned herself in a soft cream colored dress which was longer in the back, a ruffled skirt hugging her figure loosely. Her boots reached under her knee, a few buckles holding them around her calves. Lace hair ornaments in the shape of roses held her hair in place, though a few real flowers were scattered throughout her hair, many of them given to her by children. She was fairly well known as a doctor, one that didn't care about money the way most doctors did. She simply enjoyed helping others and that was all there was to it.

Even the queen had joined the festivities, and it seemed to her that she was being protective of her only daughter once again. A soft chuckle escaped from the woman as she weaved her way into the crowd to get a better look at the festivities. Just because she didn't want to dance, didn't mean she did not want to join in. She loved festivals and the way people interacted with each other was thrilling to watch. Young love was adorable, and children were simply a joy to watch. Once she'd had her fill of the crowd she managed to slip out, keeping closer to the buildings to simply watch again. She probably looked like a bit of a wall flower, but she had always been a bit reserved, that is until you got to actually know her. People she was close to realized that she was never without something to say, and enjoyed speaking her mind.

Bastian looked to the princess who gave a soft nod of consent. He flashed a charming smile to the former queen. “Of course M’Lady.” He took a bow to the queen then he took Aura’s and laid a kiss upon it. “Don’t keep me waiting too long.” He said smoothly. Aura forced a pleasant smile upon her lips. “I would not dream of it.” With that he took a step back to give Lenore and her daughter some space. The nobleman had barely made two feet from him before he was asking another young maiden to dance. If Aura had any luck perhaps he would take a serious fancy to this girl. She doubted it.

Her attention went back to her mother. “Mother…” She greeted her with a genuine smile and a bow of respect to her head. “Shall we?” She offered her hand out and began to rejoin the others dancing to the current music. In the beginning she allowed the music to guide them on the floor at a fairly up beat melody. It was nice break from her current match. However, her mother hardly did things without a purpose. After a few more moments of curiosity she called her mother out. “You can dance with anyone in the kingdom. I am sure there is a line of nobleman waiting to sweep you across the floor and yet you are dancing with me.” She gave a playfully suspicious look to her mother. “So, what is really on your mind?”

Lenore Al Balecrest

Lenore gave a light sigh as her daughter was just as quick witted as she was. It was true that Lenore didn't do things without reason and it was true she had a hidden agenda for this dance. "Yes, maybe there are others who are wishing to whisk me away onto the dance floor, and yes there may even be a few noblewomen wishing to do the same." Lenore said with a quirked eyebrow as she passed the glance of woman who seemed to be staring intently at Lenore. "Awkward..." Her eyes would then turn back to Aura and she would smile lightly.

Lenore would quickly change the direction of the dance and sort of slowly pull Aura away from Lord Bastion. She would gracefully make her way all the way across the dance floor and even made key to get around those who couldn't hear her save for her daughter. "I see that you and Lord Bastion don't seem to mix quite well...I will have a talk with your brother about this. You're not to be wed unless I personally like the person." Lenore said with a giggle. Her eyes then trained back to Lord Bastion and she would almost scowl. "And I do not like that man. He seems to be after mainly your title, and good looks. I will put my boot to him if I must. It's the charmers I always fear." Lenore would then look back to Aura and smile broadly and a giggle would escape her lips.

After the song had ended Lenore would continue to hold onto her daughter's hand and even begin to lead Aura towards the table where food had been set out. "There is no reason to dance with a man you are obviously not interested in, to be precise I myself wouldn't dance with him." The former queen would giggle, her ears flipping up and twitching a few times, a reaction from her giggle. "So for the night you have a much more charming dance partner...Myself." She would smile and nod her head before looking back at the crowd. If she could she would fend off every single man who ever even held his hand anywhere near her Aura. Aura was her baby and she would protect her until the sun exploded if she had to.

To be precise Lenore had a mean streak towards Aura's suitors, it was a mean streak that very, very few people knew about. From shouting matches, to literal physical violence. She wasn't about to let her daughter go, not without a fight at least. Aura was all she felt she had left, for her son was busy with duties and well, she had no say over what the queen did, given she would give advice to the queen from time to time that was about it. Still, Aura was hers and she would be damned if she let the girl go so easily.
