SPACE The day was beautiful to start off the summer bash. From the clear blue waves to crisp salty air, everything seemed perfect; as if if nothing could go wrong. The opportunity to get away from the Yukimura household was taken at first chance. Any excuse would've sufficed but to get a vacation out of it? Now that was a deal. One Haru could not, and would not, refuse.

SPACE "Ah, man, this is just beautiful. A whole summer with out Kanna or school. It's almost too good to be true." A small chuckle was followed by a puff of smoke as the blonde male spoke. He was accompanied by the family's chauffeur, Addison. The two had gotten quite close, both having a profound hate for the remaining pure blood Yukimura family members. Haru only wished Addison could've left his job to relax at the island with. "Man, I'd totally hook you up with this girl, name's Alice. Wicked hot, trust me." It seemed like each time he spoke, Haru's cigarette shortened. The butler didn't mind, in fact, he joined the chain smoker. The two continued their mindless chattering to pass the time. They would arrive the island shortly.

SPACE The place the guys had chose was even more beautiful than they'd describe it to be. If only his face had the ability to express the excitement he felt. Inside, he was already running off and messing with things, probably starting a fire or something along those lines. Of course, his face could only come up with a half-smile. With a heavy pat on the back, Haru thanked Addison and made his way off of the motorboat, throwing his bags over his shoulders and jumping off into the shore. "Don't forget I'm here alright? I don't think I'll get much signal around these parts but if I need something, I'll try your cell anyway. Take it easy, man." Luckily, Haru had wore flip flops that day and didn't mind that the boat couldn't make it all the way up onto the beach. The built male waded his way out of the water and onto the earth.

SPACE It was so great to be on land again. Haru ran across the beach, his sandals coming off after the first few steps. He probably wouldn't use them much but he retrieved the pair anyway. It was only a matter of time before the rest of the senior class would arrive. Luckily Addison and him had packed the basement with 'supplies' for the rest of his friends. Not to mention, Haru had already settled most of his things down in the best room of the manor. He wasn't worried about going in to check out the place. The male made his way behind a small bush, completely hidden from any eyes. There wasn't any boats in sight yet bet they'd come, and he'd be ready for all of them. Haru smirked, reached into his bag and pulled out a top-performance watergun already full and ready to go.

The boat seemed to be in no real hurry to get anywhere - the engine put-putted away contentedly and the wake of the boat was quite quickly lost in the gentle surf. For most of the journey, it hadn't bothered Stefan at all, but now that they were so close to the beach, he was anxious for the voyage to be done.

It doesn't matter, he told himself. We're going to be on this island for months, a few extra minutes won't cost me anything. Besides, it looked like this was about as fast as the boat could go. No point stressing about things that couldn't be changed.

He leaned against the railing, surveying the island that would be his home for the summer. How had the school ever wrangled, this? He'd been expecting... well, he didn't really know. A camping trip somewhere in the pouring rain, or maybe a week in a cheap hotel somewhere in Europe. The whole summer on a tropical island? Well, he wouldn't complain. Especially since no-one had asked him to actually pay anything for it.

As the boat finally ground to a stop on the fine sand, Stefan picked up his bag - muttering an invective under his breath at the weight - and hopped down onto the beach. Yes... this place would do just fine. He could see the buildings in the distance - he'd have to check out his room. He'd brought a few things with him that he was sure would help make the summer something to remember...

Slowly, under the weight of his bag, but cheerfully nonetheless, Stefan set off towards the distant buildings.

SPACE The bright warm light of the Sun had lulled Haru fast to sleep. Fortunately for the little devil, he was a very light sleeper. The sound of the boat's bottom crashing and pushing onto the shore had woken him up. At first the golden haired boy was startled, not remember where he even was. But he was quick to catch on.

SPACE 'Heh..Stefan Schaeffer, you lucky dog.' Haru smirked and silently pumped the watergun. A perfect first victim: the unsuspecting nerd. Sure, he'd prefer to piss of a chick, but this would have to do. With one last pump, Haru crawled closer to the edge of the bush, his eye locked onto the back of Stefan's head. "Hope you don't mind getting wet.." Haru spoke under his breath. It didn't take much to amuse the male. He enjoyed action movies and someday hoped to be an actor. Cheesy, right?

SPACE Haru pulled back his finger, sending a sharp blob of water straight to the back of Stefan's head. The water was contained in a thin layer of gel that held it together until it made contact with it's target. 'Perfect..' Stefan would never know what hit him. Poor guy. All his things were now drenched. Haru couldn't help but snicker.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place? That's how Stella Nocte de Cruce had felt until she realized one of her options had been eliminated. The entire week prior to the senior trip her mind had been reeling with possible ways to reach the island. On the one hand she could fly, but that would be so high up, and turbulence-damn the turbulence-would shake the plane frequently. Sure, she flew on occasion, but it never quite got easier. The second ption was boat. Not that she got sea sick or anything. The sea itself was the issue. Did people have any idea what lived in that thing?! No, they didn't. No one had ever reached the bottom, and frickin' merpeople could live at the bottom for all humanity knew! It was exhasperating, but at home she had all the time in the world to fret over her small troubles. At times, she would wonder what her brother would say, but quickly wiped the thought away before anger and grief overtook her. Instead, she ended up gving a long sigh and rolling around her bed. Only three days before the trip she was informed no air craft was allowed around the island. Boat it was.

Waves rocked her back and forth, and the salty ocean air whipped the ruffles of her black bikini with silver specks and short red hair. She brushed strands of her hair behind her ear as she leaned against the railing of the boat, scarlet eyes floating over the water and the rapidly approaching island. It was magnificent. The manor the class was going to be standing in towered over the trees and it's dark wood stood on stark contrast to the white sand of the beach and crystal blue waters. The palm trees danced in the breeze and she saw some figures already on the beach. Her eyes raked over them, but none of them seemed to be the suckers she usually had fun ripping off. Hopefully some of the kids she gambled with showed their face. If she couldn't have fun with her cards she would be stuck reading and swimming the whole time. Maybe causing some trouble on the side to end some boredom. Hey, at least she wasn't at home. With a yawn, she stretched her arms over her head and popped her back. The ship was docking.

Sunlight beat against her skin, warming her entire body. The salty breeze brought some relief to the heat, but not much. It was just enough. Honestly, the weather was perfect. Stella sploshed into the water, the cold droplets sprinkling her legs as her toes dug into the shimmering white sand. Colorful fish scurried away as she waded through the nearly knee-deep water and to the shore. The crew was supposed to be loading her things into her room. She would have done it herself, but her mother insisted that people of their stature didn't do such things. At least, not in public. She rolled her eyes remembering the conversation before lacing her fingers behind her back and scanning the beach once more. Two familiair shapes were nearby. One she recognized as the sexy Haru and the other was Stefan, one of those genuises in the school. As she started to pull her gaze away, not interested in really starting conversation, she noticed Haru was gaining ground on the unsuspecting Stefan. She stopped her sloth-like movements and watched. Now, the two boys weren't within arms reach by any means, but they were close enough that they could see her perfectly clear. Not that they seemed to be paying much attention to her, which was perfectly fine. She did usually have that affect on people. It was easy for her to slip around.

Haru released a watergun attack on Stefan who was more or less cheerfully trudging along with his large backpack. Now it was a soaked backpack. Stella wrinkled her nose before sighing and shaking her head in disappointment. Was that really fun? To do those sorts of things? Her eyes flickered to the left, resting on Haru as she watched him curiously. He seemed to be enjoying himself. Stella placed a hand on her hip before looking back to Stefan and shrugging. Maybe it was something boys enjoyed? She had no idea. It all seemed rather childish to her. This whole bullying thing. Didn't they realize that people like Stefan would be their boss someday? And hold their cures for disease? Maybe not. It was probably unlikely they could think so far ahead and so much about others.

Intending to ignore them for now, Stella turned her gaze from the two and continued her walk up the beach. She kept her ears open, however, in case something escalated. By no means did she consider Stefan a friend, but she also wasn't the type to sit back and let someone weaker get pounded on for silly games. Although at times she would just sit by and watch. Sometimes she felt it was well deserved.

.: Alexandria Rose :.

Alexandria was happy that school was finally over. No longer would she have to follow the stupid dress code rules. Now the days would be filled with swimming, tanning and more boys than she could ever imagine. She looked through her bag, grabbing out a few bikinis, all either in pink or purple. Settling on a light pink one, she giggled before happily putting it on. Lexi then grabbed a pair of pink flip flops and put them on. She loved to show her perfectly painted pink toe and finger nails.

If there was anything she enjoyed to do, it was to show off. Whether it was her curves or clothes, it didn't matter. Grabbing a pink towel, she held it in her arm along with her bag. Rushing to the sand, she laid the blanket out before she rubbed the lotion on her arms and legs. She looked around, seeing the guys on the beach. Lexi wondered who would approach her first.

It was really starting to get warm as the sun crawled up towards noon. It'd be lovely once he was down on the beach, or even once he just had a drink and a seat in the shade, but right now while he was lugging his bags uphill, Stefan considered that he could do without it. There didn't even seem to be anyone else around. Was he the first person here? He had gotten the date right, hadn't he? A sudden moment of panic gripped him as he tried to remember where he'd left the form. In his bag somewhere... anywhere accessible? The side pocket? If he-

Startled, Stefan span around to see what on earth had hit him - but with the extra weight of his backpack, the sudden movement and the shifting sand under his feet, he ended up simply falling backwards into an undignified, sandy heap.

Oh, perfect. No, not the first person here. It was just him and Haru. Of ALL the people it could have been.

SPACE Haru slithered back into the bushes in an attempt to keep his anonymity, but it was useless. Stefan had already seen him. Haru huffed and crawled back out just in time to see Stefan send himself into the ground. The sight of him twirling to his fall was more than enough to provoke an eruption of laughter from the trickster. But that wasn't enough for Stefan. He just had to call out Haru's name in his meek voice like that. It only furthered the laughing spell. Now, Haru was on the floor, holding his stomach and hoping he wouldn't puke out his guts.

SPACE "Oh, man! You shoulda seen your face, Stefan! It was great." Haru's words were broken through his laughter. He had managed to pull himself up and walked over to the pouting male, holding his hand out to offer a truce. The large water gun had been slung onto his back, secured by a strap that went around his body.

SPACE Stefan had been one of the more tolerable geeks. At least he wasn't flirting with any of the girls Haru had set his eyes on. In fact, now that he thought about it, Stefan hadn't flirted with anyone...as far as Haru knew anyway. But, Haru hardly knew anything about him. Social rank sure had it's way of driving people away after elementary.

SPACE If Stefan had reached out to him, Haru wouldn't have noticed. The laughter quickly died down as a redhead began walking onto the beach. 'Damn! Has she always been in our grade? Who's she?' ' Haru bit down on his lip and stepped forward, intending fully on talking to her. That is, until Lexi, one of the more known girls of the senior class, made her way onto the beach as well. This trip just kept getting better and better. "It's like a family reunion or something, eh Stef?" Haru looked back at Stefan, a childish smile spread wide across his face.

Stefan stared up in impotent rage. Other words came to his lips, but he choked them down. He was in no place to argue now, was he? Couldn't even get up with the bag strapped to his back. If he shouted at the guy, he'd either get kicked or laughed at... which was worse, of those two?

He eyed the proffered hand distrustfully, before deciding to ignore it. Unclipping the straps from his shoulders, he rolled off his bag and straightened up, trying his best to brush the sand from his clothes. It didn't work - at least not where it was wet from Haru's water gun. So this was how the summer was going to go, was it? He muttered under his breath, and ran through a dozen ways he could get back at the cocky idiot. Something in his drink, something in his bedsheets... he'd get his chance.

The cool water actually felt surprisingly good in the heat, but he'd be damned before he admitted that.

"Right, yeah. Hi to you too, Haru. Sheesh..."

It was as he was trying to pull the oversized rucksack back onto his shoulders that he noticed the girls arriving. He recognised them, of course, but they were neither of them people he'd really talked to much. The look Stella gave them both was... well, Stefan wasn't quite sure just what to read into that. She didn't look that impressed with Haru, but then she didn't seem overly moved either way. Didn't say a word before stalking up to the mansion.

Friendly. Still... better that than watergun ambushes, right?

"Oh yeah. One happy, cheerful family" he said, with a rueful smile.

Alexandria giggled a bit when she saw Stella arrive as well. She was always so...odd. It was hard to believe that someone would actually want to be alone. That was an idea that something that she just couldn't wrap her mind around. She then turned her attention towards Haru and Stefan. To see a geek hanging out with a non-geek was also odd.

Alexandria smiled, wanting to see which of the two guys would be attracted to her. Standing up, her long golden hair flowed down her body and grazed her knees. She grabbed the bottle of sunblock before walking gracefully over to the boys.
"Hey fellas. I was wondering which of you would help me put some lotion on my back. Are either of you up to it?" Alex asked flirtatiously.

Stella winced at the sound of someone falling in the sand, breath being knocked from their lungs, though it was only a small gasp followed by a loud masculine voice shouting, "Haru!" A small grin spread across the red head's listless expression as she turned from her ascend up to the manor. She couldn't deny that someone falling on their back was pretty funny. Maybe she was somewhat distant and cold, but even she had a sense of humor. It was just rare that people ever noticed it. It was easy not to laugh after all, so she tended to hide her amusement. It seemed when Stefan tried to whirl around, the weight of his pack had unbalanced him and sent him flying on his back. For a moment, he reminded her of a turtle. Aww. It's always so sad when that happens. Every time she saw the poor things like that she would flip them over. Haru was at Stefan's side, lauging hysterically, but his laughter died down before his golden eyes landed on her. Despite her nerves of steel, even she couldn't help but have her heart thud rapidly for a moment. She didn't falter her gaze, however, for a moment as it met his. Why would she? What did he want?

Instead of taking the outstretched hand, Stefan unclipped his bag and rolled over onto his stomach before popping up, like only a human could do. She looked to the dark haired male, a small smile gracing her lips for a moment as she thought about what if's. 'What if a turtle could do that?' for example. Wouldn't their life be much easier. Although they would have to find a new home, because they had no thumbs to flip their home back over. Which led to the 'What if they had thumbs?' It was almost amusing that her train of thought had led to that from this scenario, but not exactly surprising, considering it was Stella after all.

At the sound of Haru's voice, Stella returned her gaze to his face, and followed his eyesight to an approaching golden haired beauty. Too skinny, in Stella's opinion, but to each their own. The sight of her made Stella exahusted. Being around the annoying female zapped her energy. Conversing with her might actually kill her. As if to add to the horror of her presence, the blonde had to approach the boys with that beauty model smile and hold up her suntan lotion. Then, with that all too cute and perky voice she asked which of them would want to lotion her up. Was that bile Stella felt in her mouth? People really existed like this in the world. She had almost forgotten. And people wondered why she preferred being alone. It amazed her people could even ask such a question so seriously. Stella actually shuddered in disgust as she backed up and shook her head. This was not a place for to hang around. Instead, she plucked a cigarette from the pack slipped in her bikini and the lighter. After lighting the cigarette, she replced the lighter and continued up toward the manor. What she needed were her cards and some gamblers. Not a pompom wanting to be lathered by boys driven by hormones.

Stefan blinked as Alexandria approached them - another person he hadn't really talked to much in school, someone he suspected he didn't have much in common with. She seemed to have already found time to get down to her bikini, though. Had she dressed like that on the boat? Or just wasted no time at all on arrival? She was good looking, he couldn't very well deny that. Just... kind of brazen.

He found himself with nothing convincing to say as she drew nearer, so he gave her a fairly weak smile, but when she suggested one of them rub lotion into her skin, he almost choked. Not kind of brazen at all. Completely and utterly brazen. She wasn't after protecting her back from the sun - or, well. She was, but that was part of it. You'd have to be pretty blind to miss her ulterior motive, and that kind of outright semi-naked flirting seemed to Stefan to tell you pretty much everything you needed to know about her.

"I... uh... perhaps you'd... got to... unpack? Mmm."

He turned, avoiding eye contact with Haru as much as with Alex. Haru would be all over her offer, he was sure, and he was welcome to it. And he'd probably be bragging about it later. Wonderful.

Quickly, he hurried up the path after Stella, towards the buildings where they'd all be staying.

❝ Fiona X Farchild❞

██

Fiona sat firmly in the center of the scariest boat ride (but really, the only boat ride) she had ever taken. Her hands were white knuckled around her the edges of her seat, trying to keep herself breathing. Deep breathe in, and out. In and out… None of this helped, of course, when the person captioning the boat decided to ride the wake of another boat a head of them. Fiona was only just able to hold in the squeaks of terror. She tried to stay focused on the increasingly close island that would be her home (as well as the home to several others of her class) for the next few months.

When the nice crunch of boat upon land fell upon Fiona’s ears, a wide smile broke onto the previously stressed face. It did take her a little bit to get out of the boat onto the already populated beach though. Her legs shook till she set foot on land, her eyes darting around nervously. Here she was-On vacation. Yay…

Next was the hard part of unloading her bags from the boat. Sure, Fiona only brought two, but they were packed full of stuff and possibly too heavy for her. But she was determined that she would not get bored on this trip. So, with an uneven heave, Fiona lifted one bag onto her back and picked the other up with her free hand and started wobbling inland.

Just before the doors of the mansion, Stefan stopped to look back the way he'd come. It wasn't that dramatic a hill, that he'd just climbed, but it still ought to present a pretty nice view back over the beach. He wondered if the rooms would have views as good as this... the palm trees waved lazily in the light breeze, and the wavetops glittered in the sunlight. Yeah... there were worse places to spend the summer. It'd be a wrench to go home again, that's for sure.

In the distance he heard the sound of another boat arriving, coming in rather faster than the one he'd been on, by the sound of it. Squinting against the sun, he tried to make out just who it was arriving. One of the girls... oh, Fiona! That was a relief. They weren't exactly best friends, but he knew he had more in common with her than most of the others in their class. At least it wasn't just going to be months with the likes of Hura and Alex.

He sat down on a nearby bench, and waved in the direction of the beach. Whether she'd see him, he had no idea, but now that he was drying out a bit he was feeling in good spirits. Something about the place, it was infectious.
