- Catherine almost expected him to make a break a for it. But that would be stupid, he wasn't the only rebel inside the inn and she might be the only person who works for the queen. Odds were severely against her. She looked at him for any sign of "petrification", expecting then that he would just calmly ignore her after stiffening, and was surprised when he placed down his utensils even when there was still food left. He shifted his gaze to her then spoke. He just agreed to be questioned.
It's been a while since Catherine's gotten rebels who still had the decency to act professional. Even some of the neutral people in the Black Market openly resented her then acted like children. First it was that Yekatarina person, then this one! Maybe those who were proven dangerous were the more civilized half of the rebellion. Either way, she might just enjoy talking to this one. "Hmmm... Perfect," Now Catherine just had to think of a way to approach the matter. She could show him that she means no harm- to the people present, or she could just flat out ask him since it looks like she's not the trustworthy type. Maybe a bit of a magic, just to show that she isn't one of those officers. She wasn't even sure if he recognized her. Or as an officer. Then again, she'd just expose herself along the way so why hide the fact now?
"My information tells me that you're Brent, right?" Catherine placed her chin on her hand. The spoon on her plate slightly moving, manipulated by the small amount of magic on her finger tips. " Well, it seems that your... ally of some sort had caused a ruckus in one area of this city aaand..." Okay I have no idea how to go on with this... The officer paused. There was an eminent shift in her tone as she decided to just drop the act and probably all form of subtlety. "Look, I've been hearing some stuff that Swiftfoot works alone. He's been spotted recently with you and another person. A woman." Catherine paused again. She leaned in closer and looked at him dead in the eye. Her volume dropping down to a whisper." You don't have to trust me when I tell you that I'm not the type who arrests rebels. I just want you to tell me, where he is." She knew very well that it won't be that easy, but she was interested on how we would react, especially after she let off her final words." Now, if it was you and that woman who instigated that attack, I'm giving off a fair warning. Pull that little stunt on an innocent shop again and it will be much worse. I hope you understand what you're getting into."
It wasn't as threatening as she wanted, but it was the truth. She didn't even knew she had that much to say. However, her superiors still would get on her a** if anything like that were to happen twice. Besides, they should probably know better than to intimidate the army by attacking the civilians. This Brent guy may not have listened, though considering the bargain she just presented, it might have just caught his attention. Catherine took a bite from her meal, chewing then swallowing before talking again. "So, you'd still mind if I ask you where Swiftfoot is, wouldn't you?" Her eyes locked onto his as she gave her polite smile again.
