Anger is like fire. . .
It burns it all clean

Dezra Reiloch

Dezra hadn’t even spoken to them yet. She had been waiting to see what the warrior – or so she assumed by her bucket o’ metal – would have to say after she had brought up the previous expedition. She had heard a number of things on the matter during her long, tedious talks with the elders, and all of them seemed to have a better idea of how they could have handled it, and liked to explain to her how they had failed. She had put up with it over the last month only because she had an ulterior motive, which had in the end proven to be futile. The level of respect she had seen for those who had lost their lives had so far been negligible, partially because they had attempted to keep the failure as quiet as possible. They hadn’t succeeded, but they hadn’t made any formal announcements or commendations for those who had passed even when the news had gotten out. Dezra had gotten so used to it that she was prepared for more of the same, and this time she intended to be more forward in her response.

And yet already someone was stepping in to defend the woman before she’d even had the opportunity to begin. The earth elemental drew her attention away from the warrior, and as he spoke she took a little extra time to size him up. He seemed a little withered and worn – certainly not a pretty sight to behold. However, he seemed to know what he was talking about and spoke with authority. From what she could tell, he did not stand for insubordination. Under normal circumstances, this would have been something which would have garnered greater respect from her. He had stepped in the middle of an affair that he did not belong in, though, and at least for the time being it left a negative impression on the woman.

Throwing her powers around? His statement drew her awareness to the heat spike around her and she attempted to extinguish it, but there was no change to her expression as she did so, nothing to suggest that she had done so on command nor that she was apologetic about it. Alright, so she’d been a little more upset than usual today, and her innate response had been to literally let off a heat. She felt no remorse for it in regards to the discomfort it had caused the others; she was only disappointed in herself for the outburst, and even that was something so minor that she didn’t mull over it longer than a second or two. No, this self-righteous p***k had the nerve to call her out before she’d even had the opportunity to do anything, and that was the major problem here. How rude!

If I had meant her harm, do you think I would have waited?” she snarled at the man, her gaze cold and steady. “Perhaps you should put in a little thought before you go off trying to be the gallant defender. The next time you decide to step in, make sure that you know what you’re dealing with – and that it’s actually necessary.

Dezra glanced briefly over towards the second warrior who had spoken up in defense of the elders. Her head tilted slightly as she looked the woman over. She noted the burns on her skin, and the – was that fear? – in her as she looked to the guardian before she tried to step in. At least the earth elemental had been sure of himself when he had taken a stand, albeit for the wrong reasons. This one, on the other hand, was trying to get the other woman to backtrack on her statements about the elders, and with an obvious discomfort, by the way she was holding her sword. “You think this is about them,” Dezra said slowly. It was an amusing realization, the idea that anyone would think that Dezra might be upset in defense of those old cooks. “Those old bats can rot, for all I care. You can even tell them I said so, if you’d like. I’ve said it to them myself, on multiple occasions in fact.” The strangest little grin drew at the corner of Dezra’s lips as she finished, a devilish little dare for the silly girl to try.

And then, at last, she addressed the red-clad warrior who had started this mess to begin with. “Now, what should you expect? Goodness, you’re so eager..” Dezra took a couple of steps closer to the woman, though there was still quite some distance between the two. Her arms unfolded, and her hands moved to clasp behind her back. She looked momentarily over towards Masao, considering exactly what she should share. She really didn’t want to delve too far into it – it was an unpleasant discussion. She also had to be cautious as she didn’t want to scare her, nor did she want to make light of the situation, She was looking to Masao to see if she could read from his expression what his take on it was. “Well, why don’t we start with what you think you know, and we can correct you from there.

Ysmeina Godfried ; The G u a r d i a n

__________________________________________________________________________________

Times had certainly changed for the world around them. Everything had come to take a darker tint, a deeper delve into a place of melancholy. It deterred many, made the citizens cold and stand-offish -- and which of them could be blamed? These people took pride in their country once, and now such confidence had been slandered by the many misfortunes that followed the disappearances of our heroes. The people had built character, surely, but all was not for the best.

Still, several flames kept alight, and Ysmeina was known to be one of them. Ysmeina had always been known for her extroversion, her ambition, her flawless sense of character and self-preservation, and for her it would forever be that way. She could see it in the eyes of her folk, the disdain they carried like anchors as they went about their daily lives feigning contentedness with words such as,"Well, it could be worse." She thought it only made sense to be the burning candle. Maybe, perhaps her light would provide people with a better look on the path ahead.

Heroic, she was, in believing such things. Perhaps even naive. Even at her age she held an innocent piece to herself that was never scuffed. Even at the face of impending disasters.
On the unparticular day she was called to the apparently urgent meeting, Ysmeina took her time and took it upon herself to bake bread. Yes. Bread. Cooking for her was a luxury, and it did something to her pent up energy that even her years of training and obedience couldn't manage. All while she peacefully hummed around her stove, another daunting figure waited with thin patience.

"Now really, was this necessary?" The woman of obsidian hair crossed her arms beneath her breasts. Her voice was willowy but somehow strong, solid. "We could have gone to the baker."
Ysmeina took her time sorting the small rolls of bread in her basket and draped it with a cloth before facing the begrudging girl with an answer. "I had some leftover yeast. It took an hour, at most. Besides, with the wait, they will be hungry!"
The woman, Sabine, had a look of disbelief on her face as Ysmeina passed her. She spoke as if their hunger had nothing to do with her tardiness. "An hour seems reasonable to you --"
She was already waving her hand passively. "Come on, you toad! You'll make us late."
Though a composed creature, Sabine knew only few who could literally make her skin red in fury. Her ears colored scarlet and she shuffled after her. "Who are you calling a toad you beast!"

It went like that -- the short stroll full of bickering as Ysmeina taunted Sabine with adolescent insults. Somehow, still, Sabine fell for such provocations just as easily as Ysmeina spat them out. Surely it had been a sight. Ysmeina was full of color and vibrancy. She dressed in minimal robes that had beautiful hand stitched emblems representing Aladora, and her tendrils curled around peacock feathers. Sabine was reserved, but her ghostly complexion and dark hair bled into the solid colors of her gowns. It made no sense why they were together, but their paths had once crossed some time ago, and they had been connected ever since.

"I swear to the Gods," Ysmeina started, situating her basket under her arm as she worked to open the large door. "If they aren't here by now --"
"That's impossible. It's been far too long. The elders are definitely," The door swept open and of course, the assorted seats were vacant. Sabine's expression fell. "Not here."

While Sabine worked internally on the reasons behind their tardiness, Ysmeina was well familiar, and her concerns fell on the meshing energy that filled the room. It wasn't hot exactly, but there was an imbalance. She knew that some elementalists weren't the best at maintaining their gifts in crowds at times, but she had stepped in just as a girl had been speaking in direction to a man who, to Ysmeina, favored Sabine.

"Well now!" Ysmeina wasn't shy of projecting her voice. Sabine filed in beside her in quiet speculation. "Where's the fire?"

Just because Xadrian had appeared to be preoccupied by the woman and her comment on the elders hadn't meant he wasn't paying attention. Despite his air of laziness, unattentiveness, and detachedness, he was probably the most observant one here. After all, it truly was his specialty. He'd spent years in the wastelands observing and sensing the most minuscule of changes in his surroundings. If he hadn't he wouldn't have survived. However, even those closest to him did not know of the laborious trials he faced while in that barren place. Suffice to say, the guardian was well aware of the sudden change in his immediate company. This changed surprised him in more ways than one, he had not thought he would ever see his friend Dezra feel such a thing. Xadrian himself was unsure what it was but it unsettled him. From what he could gather from her energy output, it had something to do with the second fire elemental whom had just entered the hall. Forr the woman's sake and pride he said nothing, nor did he show his awareness of her sudden change in mood. Instead he continued to look upon the warrior clad in red armor with a bemused grin.

When the fire elemental finally brought her attentions back to him he looked at her, she bounced back as quickly as ever. Had he not known her for so long he never would have picked up on her brief change in attitude, even with his skills. Again Xadrian let out a laugh, the sound was light and happy, "You always have had a way of bringing that out in them." He then looked back to the warrior, "besides I think I might like her, clunking armor and all. Who else is going to take the hits when stealth betrays us." From where he stood Xadrian watched as a number of people began crowding around the woman, including the fire elemental. If he remembered correctly the boy was on the last journey along with Dezra. They two of them made up over half of the few that made it back. He turned back to his friend waiting for her response but she was already giving him that face. He knew all to well that she meant to go stir up the air despite the polite look of excuse on her face. Yet as per usual he'd rather do nothing if there was nothing yet to be done. As such he nodded his head at her. He then leaned back against the wall, with his arms crossed. He then let his head drop and he closed his eyes; maybe he still had time for a short nap.

Unfortunately this was not the case. Almost as soon as Dezra had reached the small gathering the heat in the room went up a few degrees. With a heavy sigh he opened his eyes and trained them on the exchange going on near the center of the room. "I guess I should have known better than to think they'd let me rest," he mumbled to himself. He still didn't move from his spot though, nothing had happened yet, and he didn't need to stand in the middle of it all to suppress her. It was then that the long dark haired warrior caught his eye. Of course she thought he wasn't paying attention, that he was lazy, and didn't care, but he was used to people who didn't know him assuming such things. So instead of changing her bad thought, he reinforced them by giving an uncommitted shrug. He'd always loved to mess with people. Plus she already had a hand on her sword which told him she was ready to deal with things herself. To make things worse the expression on his face said 'it's not my deal, who cares.'

A few seconds later he could feel Dezra relax a little, or rather tame herself. He had already known she wouldn't actually kill one of them. She wasn't that heartless, 'but she does have a reputation,' he thought. The conversation then turned a little more interesting. Interesting enough that Xadrian forgot all about his nap. Though he remained in his same position leaning against the wall, he was listening intently. No one really knew what happened to the previous heroes that had been sent to save Aladora. As far as he knew they all died, save for three and two of them were currently standing in the room. The survivors had disappeared as quickly as they'd returned, so quickly that he hadn't even had a chance to see Dezra. He hadn't even known that she had survived until the funeral. The had Elders had stood before the city to announce the deaths of nearly all the heroes, many of his students had died, but Dezra's name was not called. They'd told everyone that there had been another mass earthquake in Silva Forest. He remembered the first one and how it had eaten an entire village. Both days were a huge loss for all of Aladora; first was the destruction of Tamaduire and then the death of what was supposed to be their salvation. Thinking of the little forest town brought back memories of a girl he'd met years ago. He couldn't remember the little brunette's name, but she was the only known survivor of the destruction of Tamaduire - the town of healing. Their art of medicine had been the most scientifically advanced, their results renowned; some even referred to the people of the village as miracle makers.

Xadrian became so caught up in thoughts that not even the entrance of two new companions or the smell of freshly baked bread could pull him from his mind. He knew that there was something fishy about the elder's story. He'd had a hand in the training of at least half of those elementals. There was no way they couldn't handle something like an earthquake, even one as horrible as that that had swallowed Tamaduire. 'Wait,' he thought puzzled, 'freshly baked bread?' It was strange but none the less he could not mistake that sweet smell. Looking towards the door he saw two women, a tall dark haired one with pale skin, and the source of that delicious scent. He recognized her at once as a fellow guardian, Many spoke of her kindness as well as her amazing cooking.

Gerik Ahlgren

Gerik regarded Tacita with a dumb expression as he turned heel to address the murmurings towards the center of the hall. At least they sounded as murmurings, with what attention span he had presently. His hand dropped back to his side as he stooped to stow away the book and pencil both within his pack, followed by a slow stand to resume his support of the wall by his shoulders, arms folding over his chest. With Tacita's return he delivered a nod to acknowledge the introduction, but a slight tilt of his head centered his attention towards the heated exchanges. His expression was still slackened, ignorant to the source of the conflict at hand.

And perhaps that was telling, in a way. Not all of his charges in the past had been particularly peaceful; clients of competing interests--or just competing personalities--had brought convoys to a stand-still. Those disagreements demanded a certain politic intervention, phrased in florid rhetoric and appeal. Possessing very little aptitude in any such thing, Gerik had resorted to unveiled threat to get things moving again. In doing so, the irate parties often rallied against him as a common source of frustration. Something Gerik would resolve by impartially eliminating the threats that inevitably beset the travelers. It was almost like clockwork, and he might better appreciate that artful manipulation if it had been wholly intentional.

As such, he wondered why these folks wouldn't just take their dispute outside, exchange a few blows, and settle what frustrations they had. Amid the exchange in general, with no one in particular singled out as an aggressor, he remarked to Ebony and Tacita, "Think there'll be a tussle?" Angling his head up and over to scan the potential participants, he smirked slightly. Then, if somewhat redundantly: "I hope there'll be a tussle."

Even as the conversation seemed to be approaching more of a spoken resolution, he eyed up each individual, filling his head with an imagined brawl. A short-lived reverie to be interrupted by two more arrivals, to whom Gerik directed his inebriated stare. One eye would squint, then traded the effort with the other, to bring them into focus.

When Ebony finally tore her eyes from the air elemental the first thing she noticed has her new friend was off talking to a larger group of people. She watched but didn't hear much that they were saying. About the only thing she had heard was a few people mention the heat in the room, and now that she thought about it, she too was feeling a little warm. As such she decided to do a little something about it, there was always one sure way to cool a place off and it was something she was capable of doing. Ebony took in a deep breath and calmed herself allowing her to draw on her strength. It only took a few short moments but when she was finished Tacita had returned and introduced himself. "Ta-ci-taaa" said repeated pronouncing each syllable individually. "I like that name," she smiled up at him happily.

At Geriks mention of a tussle Ebony's ears perked up and she became ecstatic. "Tussle!! I love the tussle my mammy and I always tussled!" she exclaimed. She then grabbed both Tacita and Gerik's hands and pulled them with her to a large open are in the hall. "I know it's already hot in here and the tussle always makes it extra warm but don't worry! I have it all under control!" she told them. Ebony then closed her eyes again, were anyone paying attention to the open windows, or the large door that was ajar with the new entrants, they would see a fair amount of water snake its way into the room. It would then slither up the walls and gather in the center of the ceiling. After a few short seconds there was a large pool of it suspended above them, "Now it's time to tussle!" she said. Ebony then struck a 'ta-da' pose, with both her arms outstretched above her. The large puddle on the ceiling burst and it began raining in the grand hall. Immediately the room began to cool and there she was, right in the center of it dancing away. If only she knew that tussling was fighting, and not dancing. But alas, the poor girl had grown up with an old kook who called dancing tussling.

Kristen saw the look in Dezra's eyes, and her reaction was to remain now impassive, if anything her eyes slanted shut a bit with a slight twitch of her eyebrow. The woman was right to think that Kristen was afraid of her, well... Maybe not afraid, but aware and ready, more of a caution. However, it could be seen as a weakness, and it was clear now that the woman now felt herself above Kristen, but then again. Who did not. Rolling her eyes, at being ignored, Kristen let out a sigh, and leaned upon her knuckled fists, now suddenly very board, and not caring to be around this fire elemental. Now it was not out of fear, but annoyance. The only guardian in the room, though seemingly uncaring of what was going on, Kristen did see him pay a bit of attention, though it would seem only a bit attention toward the fire elemental with an attitude.

Her eyes followed Xadrian's as he looked towards the door, and watched as the other two walked in. It seems the wonderful smell was coming from there, and the healer was shocked to see the lack of the elders. Kristen was going to keep her mouth shut on the ordeal, she did not really know the elders from Adam, but what she did know was. She did know one thing. They only did things when they were good and ready for.

Gerik seemed to take interest in what was going on, and left his book for a moment. He seemed to be watching the situation. He seemed rater content with the idea of a fight, and she in turn turned to watch as things were being settled. Then Ebony spoke up. Well popped up.

Ebony seemed to take so much joy in what Gerik said, and she noticed the window, and door flow with steams of water, and she watched as it gathered above them. She pulled the hood of her oil skin duster over her head, and just in time. The woman stretched her arms out, and her actions caused the water to fall upon them like a rain storm. Kristen could not help herself. She started to laugh.

At first it, was just a giggle, then the stress of the room just seemed to wash away for Kristen, and she started to full on belly laugh. It brought tears to her eyes, and she could not remember when the last time she laughed like this... If ever. The innocent sweet, water elemental named Ebony just became someone, Kristen would defend with her life, for this simple action of making rain fall in the Great Hall. And boy, was this starting to make her sides hurt. Each time she started to calm her laughter down, it only came back with a snort, and she pitched forward.

She finally sat straight, and caught her breath. "Oh boy that was fun. I like her version of a Tussle better then any I have ever seen before." She said looking to Gerik. Shaking her head, she looked to Ebony, and smiled. "Now she is fun." Kristen has not had this much fun in a long time.
Everyone in the room
That would be including, Digital Obsession, Lucid Screamin, TheMeg00, SillyMissMilly, Sin and Sacrifice, Resonare Praeteriti, Heathen_Goddess... I think that about covers it?

CiCi

MINUTES BEFORE EBONY'S BULLSHIT

Cici watched with silent surprise on her face as a tall ragged looking man projected himself into the conversation. She didn't need his intervention, though she certainly welcomed it. She was never very good with elementals, and the fact that one of them already had an eye out for her did not bode well for the warrior. Luckily, Dezra seemed to calm down at least a tad after releasing what seemed to be pent up frustration at the man who had identified himself as Tacita.

Once their exchange was over, and Dezra once again spoke to Cici, and the warrior once again turned a worried look from Tacita to Dezra. Worried looks seemed to be the only kinds she knew of today. She could only hope it would get better. It didn't help that she had chosen to leave her sword outside, just out of reach should she need to fight for her life.

"I....I don't really know anything, to be perfectly honest. I've spent most of my time traveling, so I haven't heard...well, anything. I just know that the more I know, the better I can prepare. I've already accepted that I may die, or, at the very least, not come back in once piece, but having the knowledge that you have could help me ensure that you guys do."

As a warrior, all she was was a meat shield. It could be debated, and talked around, but in the end, she was there to ensure the elementals reached their destinations safely. In order to do that, taking all the hits was her job. And that meant that she likely wouldn't survive. She just didn't want them to die.

Apricot eyes stared beyond the snow white hair that matted against her head at Dezra, then at Tacita, then back at Dezra. It was not a show of fear, but rather, of worry. She didn't like the idea of people who were supposed to be friends, or, at the least, allies, fighting. Monsters? She could handle. People with malign intentions? She could handle. Elementals arguing and her being at the center? She could not. If this continued on, she was sure she would decide to opt out of this expedition. Luckily for her, Tacita seemed to be choosing not to speak any further.

Ysmeina Godfried ; The G u a r d i a n

__________________________________________________________________________________

It seemed her quip had been an ironic anecdote.

Ysmeina, though commonly light-hearted, was sincerely curious about the obvious confrontation, seeing once she and her comrade entered the cluster of folks speaking to another in a less than amicable fashion. It seemed to smother itself however, as the water Elemental pranced through the hall and invited a sudden surge of water through the open door and windows.

"What could she possibly be doing?" Sabine's voice could barely be heard. She and Ysmeina, along with the others, had been watching the water collect at the high ceiling, growing strong in form. Upon releasing, they could hear the hushing noise of the water storming down the grand hall.
"Oh, dear," She mumbled, and quickly shuffled to a chair where she secured her fresh basket of goods from harm. The heavy droplets had just met her back once the woven basket was safe and sound. Though her hair was well-beyond saturated, Ysmeina sighed in relief. She proffered damp hair over damp fresh bread any day of her life.

Once she stood once more, she checked for Sabine, whom she knew held no patience for any sort of indecent conduct, who in fact was safe and dry under a sun umbrella. Her dark figure stood unperturbed, but still, Ysmeina couldn't help the laugh that fell out of her mouth. She took a quick glance across the floor, recognizing the Elementals, the other Guardian, and the respective warriors. She was comfortable in knowing their general status in the community, and as she felt their talents emanating from each individual through energetic waves, she shivered with pride and apprehension. Though a proud woman, the people here were like wet clay; external forces would help determine what shaped them, and she held major responsibility in that aspect.

Yet still, their talents spoke for themselves. The woman clapped in mirth. "How expressive! I love it. Though, I think it's best we keep things lukewarm and dry for the remainder of the gathering so as not to induce unwarranted strokes or pneumonia." Elementals, though strong individuals, Ysmeina understood to be emotionally moved people, and dealing with varying manipulators as a Guardian meant being tough and also empathetic to each of their needs. Though she loved the energies that came from these people, as to prevent further conflict, she thought it best to keep things neutral.

She hardly minded the water, but who could be certain others felt the same? She knew better than to let her bias keep her voice silent, but she would be delicate, and speak generally. The woman adjusted her wet robes and walked more to the center of the expansive hall, folding her hands at her lap.

"I am Ysmeina Godfried," She was sure to nod in a polite gesture, and look at each of them. With the subtle tensions still there, it seemed only apt to acknowledge the entire room, rather than stow herself away. "I'm one of the fellow Guardians here and I hope to help each of you to the best of my abilities."

Gerik Ahlgren

The dumb expression on his face was well-preserved as Gerik turned to Ebony's declaration. 'She fought--her mother?' While he was busy reasoning with himself that the very physical arguments with his father, by comparison, were understandable, he found himself caught unawares by the sudden tug that turned into a pull. He staggered in Ebony's tow; not managing a word, so much as a grunt of confusion.

'-I have it all under control!' she'd said and, frankly, Gerik had his doubts. This and more he'd wonder about as he took a couple steps back after being stopped, rubbing the heel of his hand into his brow with a shake of his head. The unexpected rush to whatever new vantage point had sent his vision spinning. As his perspective corrected, Gerik chanced the opening of an eye to see Ebony...Dancing. 'So this is what madness feels like.' No, what he felt was rain, a slow backward lean of his shoulders with his head following to witness the source.

Gerik averted his attention toward Kristen's observation, but for his confusion--on the general procession of events, rather than their content--couldn't put an appropriate response together. Nor an inappropriate one, either. A rare thing indeed.

For certain, the cooling atmosphere had improved the downward spiral he was fast approaching; that point where drunk bliss threatens to deteriorate into a nauseating fog, staved off temporarily only by more alcohol. Lacking the latter, the unforecasted rain was good medicine. As for the prospect of pneumonia? Well, Gerik would cross that bridge if he got there. Until then, he kept his face tilted toward the summoned rain, arms slack at his sides.

                                        "Ready to go?"
                                        "Mhm.."
"So the plan is to go to the market first, food, visiting the blacksmith, and then we should be back around the afternoon." Trainer had said to her as she approached him.
                                        "But the elders.."

"I told them last night that you weren't rea-"
"NO," she yelled at him slamming her hand on the table between them. A silence stood between them for a couple of seconds, before she actually retreated her hand to her side. "I can do this, I'm ready," she continued speaking normally now. Trainer looked at her before chuckling silently, and in response she looked at him with pure confusion. At the sight of the smile creeping on his face, she instantly knew that he was just playing around with her. Odd enough, she never raised her voice unless he was badgering her to rest, so her reaction was probably a breath of fresh air to him. Walking to the front door of his humble abode, she stopped when she reached her place. "I'm ready to leave now." From Allur Peaks to Narran was not a long travel for the both of them, especially Trainer, since he visited the city every now and then for supplies, while Miko stayed to train. For fun, Trainer told her that he'd race her to Narran, but surprisingly, she won using the river to her will. Of course, she knew that it wasn't fair exactly being that Trainer had more obstacles setting his foot on land. Though for a moment, she definitely wondered if he let her win. He was more sure of his way around, and knew more of the secret trails than she did anyway. It didn't matter anyway; she just counted the challenge for fun. It wasn't like Trainer had actually let her have any fun anyway.

As they arrived to the boarders of Narran, she stopped for a moment to look around.
"You wouldn't want to be late, you'll get a hell of a lecture," Trainer told her looking back at her. For a moment there, she didn't hear Trainer at all. The land just appalled her and took her senses away. She remembered since her childhood that Narran was as vibrant and lush as the forests, but it was nothing like that. The land was still green, but it just seemed like everything lost its colour. It was slightly disappointing. "Miko.." She snapped her head at him and then followed. The environment was slightly weird for her; being raised in Gerik Desert and then moved to Allur Peaks was a better transition to her than this. To Miko, both the mountains and desert had that hidden feeling of a blank slate. Both were just so secretive, that it had balanced with its barren appearance. Narran on the other hand, was so loud and harsh. The city was flooded with citizens every now and then, and had an odor to add with it. From the large change, she assumed that she didn't like Narran as much because she was located at a different part of Aladora. If anything, she knew that one of the primary reasons was because she hadn't adjusted into the city yet, she was never really around that much people, and feeling of people grazing her skin once in a while just made her feel violated. Luckily, Trainer was attached to the hip with her. He put his arm around her, guiding her around each corner, and at every crossing.

After attaching her binding rod to her belt, he patted her head and then nodded at her with a smile.
"If you have any time remembered to come visit me, and make sure when you finish you also get back to me right away. I want to see how strong you got!" He told her enthusiastically while striking poses to flex his muscles. She chuckled and then nodded at him before walking to the doors of Great Hall herself.
"Trainer?" She questioned to him before putting her hand on the handle, but there was no response. As she turned around to check if he was just playing around with her, it just seemed as if he vanished out thing air. "Thank you..."
It always crossed her mind since she began training with Trainer, if he was a guardian or some hidden elemental as well. She questioned if he was just so good that he had the ability to hide things from her. Their relationship was slightly difficult anyway, because she didn't speak about her upbringing, he never told her his name. To which was why she referred to him as "Trainer" all the time.

As she walked into the large halls, her eyes almost instantly lit up, seeing the traditional banners decorated all around her. It was just like she imagined Aladora would look like, from the stories she's heard of anyway. Even the marble tiles beneath her were so clean that they reflected the beauty around her. As her eyes lowered, she noticed the amount of people, 11 to be exact. Though if she remembered correctly, that was not everyone who was supposed to attend. She sighed in relief - glad to know that she was not the last one, especially being that it seemed like the elders weren't even present yet. Trying to take in the slightly warm atmosphere of the room and appearance, she took a few steps forward not noticing what and which direction she was headed in, until she bumped into a couple of females. "My apologizes..." She said taking a few couple steps back.

As a plume of smoke rising in the light...

Celethelel listened quietly as the warriors talked, but his attention was soon caught when he heard a voice, presumably female. Did you see that!? That guy just flew in here! Like... like... like a butterfly! He paused at the comment, a slight smile forming. People had seen his powers as useful, frightening, and strange in the time he'd used them, but it had been too long since someone showed such an innocent, genuine fascination with them. He could still sense her eyes on him as he thought, and given how the elders hadn't shown up, he thought it might be interesting to introduce himself. Whoever she was she certainly seemed to be a very vivacious woman, even despite the gloomy circumstances..

And yet as he'd begun to shift his position to get up, having been intent on talking to this stranger, the rising tensions, and heat, to his side caught his attention. Celethelel remained as placid as ever throughout the exchange, not even breaking a sweat despite his hood still remaining up. He simply remained still as a stone, his own powers at the ready should things turn messy. Words playing with emotions again...the powers of air never cease to amaze. he pondered idly as the earth elemental, Tacita, introduced himself, making an attempt to diffuse the situation. An odd man to be sure, and yet Celethelel could see a sort of steadiness about him. A steadiness that told him Tacita wasn't quite the expressive type either. He didn't seem quite as whimsical as Celethelel, but is was something the air elemental decidedly respected.

Before he could have much more of an opinion on the matter, though, he saw a girl whose voice he recognized breeze past, calling out something about having a tussle and tugging bith Tacita and someone he did not recognize along with her. A fight...? But who does she plan on... his thoughts were interrupted as he saw the water begin to gather above her, and for a moment he was unsure what to expect. Was the room about to become a free-for-all? He wasn't sure, and he gathered his energy once more to prepare for the worst, only to be met with...rain? And dancing. It was different than he'd expected, but at the same time it actually looked like quite a bit of fun. Enough fun that he took the momentary distraction she'd created to slip away from his seat and join in.

"Whoever taught you how to tussle must be an interesting person." he laughed, falling into step with her with her.

[OOC:Oh wow sorry for the delay here, all my errands took longer than I expected. sweatdrop So yeah, this post will cover some ground for Ceth, haha. Also Ebony is adorable ermahgerd. emotion_kirakira ]

Masao Reyen

Masao didn't get much of a chance to hear out the female warrior, Cici, before the entire situation went sour. To be honest, he himself wasn't sure how it had happened. He was so accustomed to Dezra's nature that he often forgot how others were easily irritated by her actions. The warrior obviously felt she had done something to irritate them both, which she had done no such thing to him. He motioned to speak up to her, that is, before a rude interruption by the earth elemental Tacita. Masao's eyes shot to the elemental after he started speaking ill of Dezra. The emotionless was long gone from his face; his expression twisted to an intense glare, but even more peculiar, was the sudden change in eye color. His normally dark maroon hue suddenly shot to a bright fire red. The fire elemental was quick to size the man up, taking note of how the man seemed almost sickly. This did not soften his gaze, his stare remained strongly intact. He finally spoke as Tacita turned to walk away. "He reminds me of a politician. I do not care for politicians." Though his stare remained on the earth elemental, he spoke out generally, to whomever would hear it.

Shortly after, Masao took note of the drop in temperature. It seemed Dezra did not find him worth her time, so he too took his attention away from the man. He wasn't sure what exactly it was about him--other than the politician note--that rubbed him wrong. Of course he wouldn't care for anyone talking down on Dezra, however, normally he wouldn't let it bother him so. Perhaps it was the manner Tacita addressed the situation. Whatever it was, Masao felt he would not care for him. Putting it off his mind, his appearance changed back to the previous as he turned his attention back to Cici and Dez. He looked just in time to catch the latter giving him a few glances as if to ask what he felt she should say about the previous journey. A quick moment of grief crept across him, but was quickly subdued as he returned the glance with a stern gaze and a nod. His way of saying, 'it's a harsh truth, but she needs to know.'

The fire elemental moved his gaze from Dezra to the warrior Cici. She seemed worried, not overly confident. Something about her attitude and posture seemed off to him, at least for a warrior. He took in as much as he could about her, picking up little bits here and there. That is, until she spoke, and he finally felt he understood what it was that was throwing him off. As soon as she finshed, Masao took a step forward, immediately addressing Cici before Dezra could continue. Hopefully she didn't find it rude, but he felt he needed to say something. "There is no sugar coating what we're about to face. It's going to be dangerous, and test your skills in ways you've never imagined. But that's not what concerns me. What we need from you, is to keep your strength and wit about you. Never so easily accept death, you only doom yourself and others. You were chosen from a large population of warriors. There are few elementals to choose from, which makes us obvious choices. You, however, were chosen over many people, you were chosen for a reason. Remember that." With his speech, he took a step back, his gaze softening back to it's blank stare. He hoped she wouldn't feel he stepped out of place, but he could see the worry in her. She felt she was just there to block hits, she didn't understand her own importance. True, there were a few elementals like Masao that were also trained and weapons, but there would others who could not defend themselves physically. They needed warriors like her.

It was not long after that Masao felt something softly fall on his head. He reached up and felt the spot, a peculiar look on his face as he questioned what it could be. Wet? He was about to question it, when it started to... rain? The fire elemental looked up to the ceiling to see a pool of water dispersing out over all of them. He pulled his hood back up as he looked around the room for the cause. There was a girl off to the side dancing in the rain, he could only assume she was a water elemental. Surprisingly, he chuckled softly. She reminded him of a few of the others from... well... before. Though it could get old, at least there would be someone to keep the mood lightened when it was needed. His attention was then turned to a woman who stepped up close by, introducing herself to the room as Ysmeina, one of their guardians. A smile came to the fire elemental's face. He found the previous guardians to be distasteful, this first one already seemed far more pleasant. So, in return, Masao stepped forward and gave a short bow as he introduced himself. "A pleasure to meet you Ysmeina, I am Masao Reyen, I am one of the two fire elementals on this journey." He opened his mouth to continue by saying he had been on the previous journey, but the idea of just bringing it up gave him a sick feeling to the stomach. He didn't mind speaking of it, but he didn't care for the idea of just bringing it up.

Anger is like fire. . .
It burns it all clean

Dezra Reiloch

Dezra raised an eyebrow as the warrior woman gave her response. She supposed she shouldn’t be surprised by how little she knew, but people liked to talk, and she expected to hear a rumor or two that she could dispel. She glanced again to Masao and had been just about to speak up, when he jumped in for her. His explanation was decent enough to cover the basics, even if she thought that he was giving her a bit too much assistance with her confidence. She was here for a reason, as he’d said. If she wanted to wallow in her own sorrow until she figured out what she was going to be worth to them, they should have just let her.

She had just been about to add her own warnings to what Masao had stated, when suddenly … it started to rain. Dezra looked up towards the ceiling, at first a little confused, and then, immediately, upset. She faced those in the room once again, her gaze moving from person to person until they fell upon the dancing group. Those eyes, now burning red again, stopped upon the water elemental who she had already noted as foolish, but had equally foolishly ignored. Her jaw was clenched, and all five foot two of her went sloshing through watery floor towards the oddball of a woman. Her hand, already hot to the touch, would reach to snatch the girl by the bicep as she came spinning around in her dance. She attempted to whirl the girl around to face her, her gaze harsh and her tone berating. “What in the Dragon’s name do you think you’re doing, you stupid little fool?!

Dezra was already upset, and getting the fire elemental wet was not the way to improve her mood. She let go of the girl’s arm as soon as she had her facing her. The heat in the woman was already so much so that the water on her skin was starting to steam and evaporate. “Do you have any idea what you’re here for? If you think you can come in here and just start dancing around like –” Like she was dancing on their graves. Dezra stopped short, regrouped, and continued. “Like an ignorant idiot, get out of here immediately. One less grave to dig.” Dezra’s steam seemed to be going out even as she berated the girl (figuratively, of course – the literal steam was still very much there). It wasn’t that she was becoming any less angry, but that she was struggling with grief of her own. As they all danced and played, not one seemed to have a serious idea of what was going on. Still, she stood her ground, determined not to be made a fool of by this childish woman.

Cherise Beaumont

Aww, come on guys,” Cherise pleaded from outside of the doors. “It’s not like I’m gonna do anything. Look, I’m already here, and there’s gotta be at least one person in there that’d stop me in my tracks. Can you please take these things off? They’re so … restraining!

The blonde looked to the guard with mock sadness, her lower lip pushed out in a pout. Her eyes, however, glimmered with amusement. She had already tried this plenty of times. She’d tried the pity route, tried the ‘give you a good time’ route, even tried the logical route for the hell of it. None of them had worked, and with that realization, she had decided to simply make the best of it. They weren’t going to do anything, but in the meantime she could have a little fun, even if it was just to annoy them.

Just as she’d been about to complain to them again about the shackles on her wrists, and probably something about how their odor was an insult to her very keen feminine senses, another man clad in similar armor as the rest came striding down the hall. The other guards stood at attention. Cherise greeted him with a mischievous smile.

Oh, Knoxy-bear, I knew you’d come back for me!” The soldier had made the mistake of letting her know that his name was Captain Knox. The man uttered something foul under his breath as he neared her, and she pulled back just slightly for effect, gasping and looking shocked. “Oh, Knoxy! These things you say! You’re so terribly cruel!” He said nothing this time, only pulled a key from his pocket. She shoved her hands out in front of her, turning her head away from him melodramatically and scoffing as though deeply offended. He unlocked her cuffs and removed them from her wrists, and only when they were finally gone did she draw her hands back and look to him sadly.

I guess this is goodbye,” she said in her best dramatic voice, putting a hand on her chest and closing her eyes. “I’ll never forget the time we spent together! Perhaps one day, fate will bring us together again.” She opened one eye then, watching him, and she couldn’t help it that the faintest grin was crossing her lips. Finally, she dropped her hands to her side and lowered her head some. “And scene!” She took a bow, then lifted her head again to look to them all. Her expression had gone a little awry, as though she were uncertain about something, her lips pursed to the side as her right hand settled on her hip. “Mmm.. Were you convinced? I wasn’t convinced. Maybe there should have been tears. I never was good at crying on command, though.” Her free hand drew up towards her face, forefinger tapping at her chin thoughtfully. The last statement had been a lie, naturally. She was a professional. Of course she could cry on command. The tapping slowed, and she sighed, dropping her arm back to her side. “I promise you guys I’ll be in much better form for my next performance!

She reached out her hand expectantly to one of the guards, who begrudgingly handed over her bow, arrows, daggers, and waistbelt toolkit. She threw the bow and arrows carelessly over her shoulder, wrapped her toolkit around her waist, perched her daggers into their appropriate holsters upon it, and turned her attention back to the scowling guards. “Well, it’s been fun, boys! I’ll miss each and every one of you – yes, even you!” she added to a silent, brooding one in the back. “Until next time!” She offered them a mock-salute with a wink, and even followed it by blowing them a kiss – which Captain Knox would even feel as a small puff of air on his cheek. She could feel their eyes upon her, boring into her and, she was certain, willing all sorts of nasty things upon her. It made the moment even more sweet, mocking them with her smile and exaggerated friendliness.

With her goodbyes properly said, she turned sharply on her heel towards the doors to the Grand Hall. Dismissively she threw her hand out in front of her, pushing the door open with a burst of air. She made her way inside with a spring in her step, allowing it to fall back naturally behind her. She’d been cooped up for so long that just that small display had felt energizing. Sure, it wasn’t the simplest thing in her repertoire, but it wasn’t exactly taxing. She stopped just inside the door, looking up at the water that had amassed in the ceiling causing it to rain. For a moment she considered whether she should try do something about it. Apparently deciding not to, she shrugged and let it fall. “Well, you don’t see that every day.” Her head levelled again, and her attention stopped on Xadrian. Her eyes lit up briefly, and she offered him a wink and a small, girlish wave before turning her attention to the dancing group. Her eyebrow rose for a second, and then that little grin returned. “Don’t see that either.

The little rogue had her sights back on the guardian. She stepped lightly around the growing puddles on the floor, that sly grin on her face as she neared him. She drew out the moment a bit by not immediately speaking up. Instead, she leaned back against the wall next to him, her arms folding in front of her in a mimic of his stance. She looked over towards him, grinned, and finally spoke up, her tone sugar-sweet. “Good evening, darling. Nice weather we’re having.. How have you been? It’s been too long!

The woman was clearly out of her mind, but she was also perfectly content, blissful even, as she danced away. When no one immediately joined in she decided to help them get into the mood. She first bumped a hip against Gerik as she shook and danced before twirling away and moving closer toTacita. Standing in front of him she took each of his hands in hers and moved them up and down. For anyone onlooking the scene it was surely comedic. The man was tall to begin with, but Ebony was also shorter than the average woman. In addition to this, as of yet, the earth elemental had been mostly somber looking while she had been full of energy and excitement.

As she continued to dance away she could hear someone laughing and having a good time. This only encouraged her to dance more as others seemed to be enjoying themselves. In fact it wasn't long before the man she'd seen earlier came and joined her. This made her even happier as she had been very interested in meeting him. "Yes! Mammy is very interesting," she said as she continued to dance, "she's a little forgetful sometimes but I love her and she's the best," she beamed. Ebony was very fond of the woman who'd raised her, the old lady had taken care of her as though she were her own, and had taken it upon herself to make sure that Ebony lived a happy life. "I saw you fly earlier! That was so cool! I bet Mammy would have loved to see th-," she told the air elemental. Or at least she'd tried to before she was interrupted.

"Whoa!" she said as she was forcefully spun around by an angry fire elemental. Ebony of course took no offense to this as she thought she had just acquired yet another dance partner. Letting out a little giggle she smiled big at the lady who'd turned her around. The smile was quick to disappear from her face however, as the woman raised her voice at Ebony. Luckily the girl wasn't too perturbed by this and answered her question easily, "We're dancing! Would you like to come join us!?" she asked before noticing the steam coming off lady. "WOAH! You're smok- ow!" she winced looking down at her arm. The fire elemental's hand had been blazing hot and had evaporated all the water on Ebony's skin leaving an intense burning sensation and a red mark in the shape of a hand. For some reason she hadn't felt the burn right away but the feeling left her staring at it for a second. She then pulled some more water from the floor to the mark to help help cool it. Immediately, more steam rose from her arm which the water elemental watched rise up and disperse. It was then that she realized that the woman was speaking to her again, and calling her an idiot. Turning, she looked the woman right in eye, "it's not very polite to call people names. And I'm not leaving. I'm not scared to die because it only means that I get to live, right Tacita?"
she said turning and grinning at the Earth elemental. Ebony then looked back at her arm and the hand print the woman had left there, "you should learn to control your fire better. You might hurt someone," she told Dezra. The girl's voice held no anger towards the woman or even reprimand, if anything her voice held concern and worry for the fire elemental.
