xxxxxCastel stayed in place a moment, letting her sadness wash over her. It wasn't until she heard heavy footsteps exit the area that she broke out of her moment to gaze behind her. Caspian had left and obviously gone a different direction than the one she was going, which was a quicker route back toward the group of packs. Her half-raised tail completely fell against her legs while her ears laid against her head. A heaviness found its way onto her back. Her words had meant to play with him, to get him to chase her. She hadn't meant for her snap at his face to end up as a fight, it was more play for her. Castel had always played rough... but then Caspian wouldn't know that. He didn't know her before her mate Godric. He knew the fae that was searching for a male out in the wild. Caspian never really got the chance to see her interact in her prime. She remembered his growl that he returned to her and even though hers was menacing, it was more meant as a playful way to put him in his place. But Caspian wouldn't know. Caspian didn't know her. All he knew was her anger and all she obviously did was confuse him and drive him away. As she allowed her body to turn around, facing the direction he had once stood in, and let out a deep sigh. Maybe chasing him off like this was the best idea, that way she couldn't hurt him any further. But yet, how long had it been since he'd entered back into her life? And each day, it seemed that her actions toward him got worse and worse. If Castel wasn't so proud, she might have felt the urge to cry, for her heart ached enough to make her want to. Honestly, she didn't know what to do. If she suddenly changed herself for the male, then what kind of justice was she doing to herself? She would just make it look as if everything was fine.

xxxxx"I'm sorry Caspian..." she whispered, knowing that no one was around to hear her. "I'm sorry for things that you don't even know about... and I'm sorry Godric... I'm sure that since you're dead that you know everything... and I hope that you can forgive me... I'm so so sorry..." Casting her gaze up near the tree tops, she could see the sun trying to peak through them, lighting up different spots along the forest floor. It was a very serene place, and the silence it lent was almost deafening. A few birds chirped high up in the canopy, but Castel didn't lend them any mind. Once again her stomach rumbled. At least it was something to get her mind off her terrible actions. Her mouth slightly watered as thoughts of different birds, rodents, even deer crossed her mind. She wondered if the hunters were out trying to gather food, or if anyone had thought of that recently. Letting out another sigh, she finally started forward in the direction back toward the packs. She didn't know where Caspian had gone, and honestly she didn't care. After how he obviously reacted to her, she knew that he didn't care to see them. Instead, she let her ears guide her through the forest, soon coming near the sound of rushing water. There was a river around here, but thankfully a beaver had given her a small bridge with which to cross it. She knew this part of the river well, and had crossed this beaver dam many times in her life. It didn't phase her. It was always sturdy and it was what separated the raging part of the river of the west from that of the east. Getting to the other side, she turned her head, trying to see if Caspian was around, but thankfully he wasn't. Instead, other pack members that she wasn't familiar with were here. She lifted her head to a white wolf, (Avalon) speaking with a grey wolf, (Verue). Across the meadow she spied a black wolf(Icepaw) laying atop a large stone. Then more scents hit her from within the meadow and along the tree line. The meadow was very tall, so it was understood that wolves might be in it that she couldn't see.

xxxxxNone of this really seemed of interest to her. So instead, she stalked her way through the tall grass of the meadow, out until the stalks towered over her head. Here, she laid down, soon rolling upon her back so that her belly greeted the sunlight. Her pumpkin-spiced eyes watched the clouds as they passed across the sun in a strange organic pattern overhead. Different images came to mind as she picked out what the clouds looked like, but in all, they were just clouds in her head. Castel wasn't the most creative of wolves and sometimes even had a hard time figuring out a fighting pattern in her head. Her own pattern was more of a chaotic one. Whenever she fought, she was normally the smaller one in the scuffle, so she had learned to be unpredictable, to come up with moves that would startle even a seasoned warrior. Sometimes she had practiced with Caspian, but in the end it just wound up into something that hurt his feelings. Caspian... the black brute came back to mind as she stayed upon her back. How she wished to apologize to him. Sometimes she even longed to just admit everything to him, to come clean that way she'd finally have someone to lean on, someone to trust. But all in all, Castel was very alone. She'd always been alone, with Godric she felt alone, even before him. Funny how whenever their pup, Leo came along that Godric ended up spending more time with him than with her, but yet still held so much pride for his little family. .... But that family was a lie... Castel closed her eyes. It seemed that now-a-days she couldn't have a nice memory for the world.

Ice paw looked up as she sniffed another wolf, this one not from her pack she looked around and her golden eyes spotted a white wolf looking at her for a moment and then walked away, she knew this wolf, she had been told to memorise all the pack wolves, it had been hard to do so but she had done it anyway. This male was a healer just as she was, though her rank was higher than his, if she remembered right his name was cyo. She watched him walk away and she had been about to follow him and see what was wrong but she decided not to. She rose and stretched yawning softly and shaking her fur out as she hopped off the rock and headed away, she wanted to explore others territory now that she was allowed to do so. She looked around at her pack and wagged her tail slightly, they were such good wolves, well except for twiggy that pup was such a brat but she loved him anyway, he would eventually be a good wolf after he learned to behave a little more. She shook her head and headed away, she knew verue would keep an eye on them since they were all watched over by the beta and the shaman, she was to motherly, and had been told so many times by the adult wolves but they loved her anyway. It was the way she was had been since she lost her litter and her mate, she had just dived in muzzle first.

She ignored her thoughts because it would drown her if she kept thinking of all she had lost, it was why she rarely thought about it and why she turned down all her suitors, though there were so few now in days with so many dead. She loped through the forest sniffing as she went. She stood at the border and looked around, she felt odd standing there thinking about crossing it, even if they all weren’t in their territories now anyway. She had been taught well that the boarder was not something you crossed, it wasn’t safe it wasn’t pack but nothing was pack anymore were they? No they were all one even if no one was allowed to rule fully yet, she really wondered who would take lead and who would be demoted. A pack could not have more than one alpha pair, or beta pair so this was going to get bloody before it was over and they all knew it, they all worried about it because it was one of those things no one really wanted to happen. She took a few steps over the boundary line and she stopped and looked around, she hadn’t been killed yet so that was a good thing. The smells were almost the same but for strange wolf smells. She sniffed the air and kept sniffing wanting to take it all in. she was excited now and she wanted to explore and run and just have fun, it had been so long since fun was a thing in her life.

She put her nose to the ground and began to walk looking around and investigating things as best she could. The smells were all new but they were all somewhat old. The packs had left the area, just as her own pack was gone from their territory. She smelled something and turned around looking for who it was she smelled. The male she smelled was a ways away and something smelled off, sadness that’s what she smelled, it was then that she decided to follow her nose and find this wolf; she was curious what had made him so sad. She loped through the forest silently; it was her way to walk silently since it was always dangerous when a wolf was alone. She found the male close to a den, by the smells of the den it was the packs main den. She stopped and sat down just after she stepped into the open. She whined curiously and tilted her head as she tried to remember the name of this male. He was black like her, though she was different because of her white paw, the paw she was named for after all; it was as white as snow.

She licked her maw as she watched him, he was not her pack and she was unsure of how to approach the male. “Hello, Caspian right? Why are you so sad?” her voice was soft as she watched him curiously. She noticed he had a few hairs missing from her pelt and wondered who had attacked him and why. She stood and approached him slowly, her tail wagging to show she wasn’t a threat; she didn’t want to make him aggressive. “Is this your old den area? It’s much denser than ours was.” Her voice was full of wonder, this area was full of trees and smelled more like forest than humans, she hated the smell of those creatures. This place seemed peaceful to her, she liked it, she hoped they could find a peaceful place like this for the new larger den, for all the packs.

xxxLooking down at his paws, Caspian exhaled sharply. A part of him wanted Castel to show up and the other part wanted her to stay far away from him right now. She’d cut him to the quick which should not have surprised him but this time it was different. He remembered first joining up, thinking that she would be happy to see him but he recalled her look of absolute horror and she didn’t end up speaking with him for a month. Since then their relationship has been rocky but he never thought she’d be so cruel…he’d been on his own for so long that he wasn’t quite sure what females really were like. Were they all confusing? Shaking his head he almost chuckled out loud. Nah, it couldn’t be. Every wolf was unique and while he’d yet to officially associate with a wolf of the opposite gender for some time (aside from Castel of course) he was pretty sure it was only she who liked giving him evil looks. Shrugging helplessly, he lifted his head. Oh well, best to not dwell. He thought, getting to his paws. Blind Seer was probably still snoozing as Caspian doubted he’d go far with his pains. He was just about to go nuts from standing still when noises caught his attention. At first his guard went up, his body going rigid as a smell he didn’t really recognize reached his nose.

His stance relaxed when he saw that it was a fae coming out of the trees and a bit unsure one too. Plus it also occurred to him that the packs were supposed to be trying to get along. Caspian nodded to the female, wracking his brain for her name. Avalon had made them introduce themselves and while Caspian couldn’t remember all of them, she had managed his name so it hoped he’d be able to come up with hers. Studying her, he tilted his head to one side. She was all black, like he save for one white paw and pretty looks. Ah! That was it! “Yes, that’s me. How are you, Ice Paw?” He asked, wagging his tail to show that there was no threat here. If he recalled correctly she was a Shaman of the Meridaianis pack. It was then he realized that she’d asked him a question. “Oh, it’s…nothing. Sometimes pack members fight, it’s no big deal.” He gave the sweet female a half-hearted smile, not really want to talk about him and Castel at the moment. Caspian then sat down as Ice Paw came closer. “It’s all right, we’re all friends here.” He said to make her feel more at ease, wagging his tail once more. She then commented on the den site and he found himself smiling genuinely this time. “Yeah, it is. The forests here are thick and it’s easy to get lost but we do like it here.” Caspian glanced at the fae with curiosity. “I’ve never been to the Meridaianis den site, what’s it like?”

In the back of his mind he was thinking how nice it was to talk with Ice Paw. He didn’t know her all that well but from what he could tell she was kind and caring with an almost mother-like type air about her. Complete opposite from Castel. He thought before he could shut down that line of thinking. In all fairness towards the multi-colored female, he didn’t know her as well he liked. Which is why he was currently giving her the benefit of the doubt despite how she’d snapped at him. Everyone’s got a story; he just hoped she would eventually tell him hers. Pushing Castel towards the back of his mind, he turned his attention back to the black fae, pleased to have some company with half his pack MIA.

Kota was rested In her little spot for a while feeling the soft breeze stripping through her fur. She hoped things wouldn’t be such a big change since the separation, and wanders if there was even any hope left. Curious of what the other packs we’re thinking what we’re they all going to do? Is the disease ever going to go away? Kota wasn’t sure of anything at this point the only things she had put in perspective right now was to continue doing her scouting patrols, watching over Nano, and to survive.

Distractions certainly are not a problem to her as well. She knows what she is doing, however is it the right thing? She could scarcely bare the thought of how hard is it for the hunters. Kota enjoys hunting herself but she had to stop due to the disease spreading, she hasn’t caught a meal in months on her own. And her thoughts were only suffering her more, just thinking about a decent meal makes her tummy urge for food.

She was wondering what Nano was doing right now, She’s noticed that the separation even has gotten her all stressed out. But she knows Nano is tough and sticks through things even if she needs a little urge to motivate her Kota is always there to support. Kota’s eyes fierce blue eyes opened as she smelled the presence of another wolf by. She lifted her head as she saw Faedren stand near, it seemed he was very thirsty dipping his head into the water. She did a slight huff watching the water drip off his black coat. He came off into deep thought staring into the water.

Kota got up on all fours shaking the dirt and leaves off her pelt as she padded her paws towards the brute. She took a couple of refreshing sips from the water as well, giving him a slight nudge with her muzzle. “You don’t really interact much with other wolves…do you?” as she eyed her reflection as well. She hope she didn’t interrupt his thoughts too much, she was just trying to start a simple conversation. It was true she was too curious about the brute, and she’s quite straight forward with her questions when it came to meeting other wolves. Kota doesn’t like games or tricks she’s more into getting straight to the bottom of things.

Raising her snout she captured the scent of Nano and unfamiliar wolf, coming from a different pack.
“Would you like to go on a little stroll?” asking Faedren kindly, Kota secretly wanting to spy on Nano to see if she was okay she’s knows how nervous she gets due to unfamiliar wolves. Kota doesn’t get nervous, walls are up high with the other pack members or even omegas. She trotted towards some bushes getting more scents where Nano would be. Kota knew exactly the direction of where she was, and she was not going to make it obvious that she was going to be there.

Icepaw was happy when he spoke. She wagged her tail as she watched him. “I am good, a little bored though. Everyone seems to be on edge.” She said as she watched the male, he seemed to brush off the question about sadness with vagueness, she didn’t mind they all had secrets and she didn’t know this brute any more than she knew the others, though she was glad he was willing to talk to her, some others just snapped when she came close. He spoke of them all being friends and she could tell he was trying to put her at ease and well it was working, but she had always been the trusting happy type, it was in her blood to be that way and she was okay with that because it made her job easier. She wagged her tail and nodded as he spoke of the forests around her. “I would have been lost had I not smelled you over here, it’s so different than what we come from.” She looked around them her tail wagging happily as she did so. Her head snapped back when he asked about their own den site. “It’s sparse, we lived close to the humans and they liked to cut down trees for some unknown reason, I still haven’t figured out why they do it though. We adapted our coats are a little thicker than yours are.” It was true; everyone from her pack had slightly thicker coats to keep the wind and cold from them.

Caspian was a kind wolf and she was glad she had followed her nose and ignored all warnings when crossing the now none existent border. She looked around her head tilting back and forth as she looked around, it was so beautiful here, she didn’t want to leave. She turned back to Caspian and whined softly curious and then spoke. “Would you show me around? You probably know all the best spots around here, we could go for a run and you could show me them. And then I’ll show you my favourite spots in my old territory?” she tilted her head softly as she waited for him to speak. She whined softly wiggling a little she wanted to play and she wanted to have fun running through this new place. When he said yes she was so happy she barked a little and then they were off. “race you.” She called as she took off into the forest, yes she wanted to see the places he had to show her, but she also wanted to have a race and this was the best way to do it.

Caspian had seemed like he would be playful, she didn’t know why she had thought that but she did and so she looked back after jumping over the log and laughed as she saw him behind her. She had always been fast but she was shaman it was something she had to be. This wolf though was definitely not a shaman, he was something more and that made him fast as well. He had held himself as a warrior, and so she worried he would overtake her swiftly and he did, as he passed her she nipped at his tail playfully as she tried to go faster, but she was nowhere near as fast as he was and she didn’t know the area so she couldn’t be smart and overtake him a tricky way. They ran for a little bit and she slowed down, she was panting as she slowed and sat down. She barked and waited for him to stop and come back. “Okay okay you win, you’re the superior runner. She laughed and shook her head her tail swaying happily. “Now show me your land.” She said standing up still panting from the run.

Ӻaedren basked in the moment of peace when he caught the growing scent of Kota in his nostrils, he peered over at the fae as she helped herself to the stream. He knew little of the scout other than her relationship with Nanook, they were constantly together and it seemed even more so with the outbreak. The fae stopped and abruptly nudged him with her nuzzle, the feeling almost strange since he was never into much contact with other wolves other than that of Soren and his mother. Though what really brought him to stare at the fae was her statement/question, it wasn't exactly secret that he hung in the background of the pack than with them but i her approach on the subject was well... forward.
      "I suppose I don't.."
XXXXHe said blankly, his tone smooth and deep, it was odd to hear himself speak again, it had been a quite a while since he had last spoken now that he thought about it. He wondered if he would ever have a reason to speak to anyone other than to his superiors that made up their new combined pack. His golden eyes took in the sight of the fae with his usual deep intellectual gaze, watching Kota as she looked at the reflection in the water. Noting every expression and detail in her face as well as her body, but what really caught his attention was her eyes. A bright vibrant blue that the sky would envy even on its clearest blue day in summer, his nose drank in her scent as he silently watched her raise her head at catching a scent. Faedren breathed deep catching the scents as well, noticing immediately who's scent it was, it was Nanook and another wolf from one of the other packs. His attention was snapped up as he heard the fae beside him speak of going for a walk together, it was odd,not many bothered to do such things with the brute. He found himself grateful that his mother wasn't present, no doubt in his mind she would be pleased and would have surely said yes for him, then glare at him to go. He mentally smiled at the thought, he knew she meant well and had worried that he would always outcast himself as if he was some kind of omega. She would have wanted him to experience something out of his comfort zone, so he did something that he never had done, he agreed...
      "Sure.."
XXXX Ӻaedren said simply, licking the water that remained on his muzzle and followed silently after Kota his ear flicked forward as his nose remain honed to the scents and aromas around them. He noted the scent of Nanook in the air and that they were encroaching on her position, he huffed at her obvious 'stroll' was actually a ploy into getting him to help her spy on her close friend. The brute gently took the fae's tail in his mouth and tugged gently to get her attention without making a sound, if he was being drug into this he was going to make sure they did it the right way. He nudge her side with his muzzle and tugged on her ear to follow him instead, he turned and went to the right almost back tracking the way they had come until he felt the breeze on his face. Faedren then began to move towards the scent of Nanook and the random wolf in her presence, though with the wind in their face the two wouldn't be aware of their presence this way. As they drew closer he hunker his body down and moved slower, his movements silent and his ears forward as he hear voices, he lowered himself entirely to the ground. Crawling the rest of the way to a crop of thick green bushes with plenty of shade and foliage to conceal them, once in position he scooted over so that the fae would have a room to fit beside him. Faedren's bright eyes peered through the leaves and he caught the sight of the fae Nanook, his gaze shifted onto the other that was with her, it was Cyo, a healer of the Ostin pack. As far as anything else, he didn't really know much about the brute, while being observant as ever he still hadn't had a chance to really get to know any of the wolves. Nothing more than the obvious and some of the hinting actions that shown him a glimpse into their personality and if he should watch out for them in the future. After a long moment of looking from one wolf to the other he turned his eyes onto his companion Kota, quietly observing her as she eavesdropped on her friend. Their sides were touching as she laid their snooping about Nanook, he couldn't help but feel weird about them touching, he looked at their fur blending together as one. His blue, gray, and white fur getting darker from her black, he wondered if she noticed the little things he did like this, his vision went to her face again. His lungs filling with her scent and his eyes drinking in the sight of her, he was uninterested in the sneaking around but he was intrigued by the fae beside him. She wasn't like a lot of wolves he observed, she was interesting, and rather forward about things, at least the way she had earlier suggested it even more to him. After a long moment he found that he was probably staring too long and hard at her, and that she might feel uncomfortable under his calculating gaze and turned his attention back onto the wolves in front of them. Wondering when they should take their leave after all it had been quite a while since they had started watching them, soon they needed to leave before getting caught.

”All these sad thoughts are making me hungry! Raja said to herself as she shook her bright fur. It was hard getting used to having the responsibility of feeding so many more mouths now, especially of the sick and weak. She hadn’t noticed any other hunters besides herself which worried her. Would this mean the other wolves would have to change ranks and duties? Already so many things were changing so she wasn’t doubtful that the wolves would be reassigned according to importance and right now finding food was important to everyone; food that wasn’t tainted of course. Raja missed the good days back when she was a young wolf of two years. Things were exciting and new and safe. Many days were spent exploring and playing with Fillin around the flower beds and rapids. She’d always had a special place in her heart for him; he was her first best friend but unfortunately since the disease started breaking out she hadn’t spent too much time with him or even having normal conversations. Now that all the packs had been forced to join together she didn’t see too much of him either. It’s all been too hectic and rushed, this made Raja feel guilty. She should have kept him close and not let them drift in these moments of fear.

With a determined face, Raja began to walk back to the now main den site. It wasn’t exactly a short walk to and from her special place which wasn’t great in times of urgency but she did so anyways.

She was only a few feet away from her original den which she passed on her way back. The stale scent of her old pack members filled her nose and brought a mixture of warmth and sadness to her. It was hard to adjust but she knew it was important for the survival of her friends and remaining family. As she got to the river that ran between the west territory and the large meadow, Raja licked her chomps. The sound of the running river made her mouth salivate and she dipped her head into the cool water, her pink tongue jutting out and in. Her eyes and ears were alert for any unusual sounds or sights as she drank. Even though she knew the whole territory was now hers, it also belonged to all the other wolves and some of them may not be friendly. It wasn’t worth it to risk being ambushed. Although she wished there weren’t any quarrels and hate, it was bound to happen anyways. She’d already noticed glaring eyes and unfriendly body language when all the packs were introduced. Notably, it was a brownish female from what she remembers the Meridianis pack (Kota) that gave her an unsettling feeling. Then again maybe it was just Raja over thinking.

Once she got her fill she lifted her head, water droplets falling from her chin. With a quick sweep of her tongue over her mouth she stepped into the water. It wasn’t too deep and definitely not as dangerous as the rapids farther north on the west end. She had always been curious about the rapids but never dared to attempt to cross them. She considered her life too precious to be that dumb. Even for a risk taker it wasn’t worth it. The water felt great between her toes and was a change from the mild weather today. It wasn’t too deep of a river on this end and only reached up to about shoulder height on Raja. She climbed out on the other side and gave herself a good shake and continued on. No wolf liked a matted wet pelt but it was refreshing none the less. From her memory, she knew she’d have to walk through the whole meadow to get to the den site which was only about a little less than a mile.

As she trekked deeper into the meadow, she caught the scent of another wolf around her. The tall grass made it hard to tell where the smell was coming from and who it was. Should she investigate and see who it was? Is it even safe to do so? Raja went with her gut continued on, tracking the scent closer. As it got stronger she could tell it was a female… a rather sorrowful one at that. As to not alert her, Raja made a small bark to make her presence known.

xxxxxCastel continued to laze upon her back, a few times falling to her side, but realizing how much her belly missed the sunlight, so she'd turn upon her back once more. Her paws jutted out in front of her, easily bent as if to cover her chest while her hind quarters lay wherever they chose to fall. Her large busy tail stayed straight out, every now and then wagging. She was enjoying this sunlight, for it was a nice way to forget everything that was happening. Soon, she'd have to return to the pack area, but for now she could ditch all the newcomers and just be herself. Listening to the sounds that the earth offered, she could hear chatter carried on the wind, hear heavy footsteps of wolves running, and then something.... something else.

xxxxxQuickly turning to lay upon her belly, her feet stretched out in front of her, she heard the soft breaking of grass before she heard the bark. That bark... did she know it? No, it wasn't of anyone in her pack. Standing on up to her feet as the other finally came into view, she locked eyes momentarily with the light rust colored fae (Raja) before dropping her eyes so as not to ensue a fight with the other. Her hair had risen a little along her back, but now easily fell back in place. At first she had thought it to be Caspian, but that was obviously not a masculine scent that carried with the other. Just the contrary, for the scent was very feminine. Strange that even dominant females had an overly feminine scent.

xxxxx"I've never seen a wolf of your coat before," Castel commented on the other's interesting color. Same with the fur, the female's eyes were also stunningly beautiful. Castel felt her own feelings slightly fall, for her looks were plain compared to that of the stand out Raja. Quickly, Castel began to assess this wolf in her mind, almost to size her up against herself if a fight were to break out. Castel obviously had a quick temper and she never seemed to get along with females very well, although in her old pack the females never seemed to care for her more so. Yet now, she tried to look over this other wolf. Where were their muscles mostly located? Were they trimmed out for fighting? Were they for hunting with strong leg muscles that could carry them over far distances? Were they scouts in the form that they stayed silent. Well this female was certainly silent, but Castel didn't really think her a scout. She felt as if a scout wouldn't have barked at her coming, but more silently tip-toed away instead without bothering anyone. Then Castel noticed just how the other had found her. It wasn't that she happened to walk upon her, for she would have nearly stumbled over her body. Instead this female (Raja) had sent out a bark to let her know about her coming up. Had she tracked her? Had she smelled her? These were both fine skills of a hunter. Perhaps that was the rank this one held. Castel wouldn't judge. She believed that all the ranks were just as important as others. It was what held the pack together. Even if the Sepentrio pack only had warriors left. So in a way this coming together thing could really prove to be an asset, at least to them. She wasn't too sure how the other packs faired during all this, for she honestly didn't pay too much attention whenever their initial meeting with the others happened. Castel wasn't the best listener.

xxxxxComing to her conclusion, she stayed silent once more as she waited for the other's reply. "I'm Castel, a warrior of the Sepentrio pack. May I ask who you are?" she questioned. Then almost instantly she regretted what she had said. Yes, she may had once been part of the Sepentrio pack, but she wasn't anymore. Technically that pack didn't exist. Now, there was just one large pack. But at least she would hopefully get the other's rank. That was the number one thing she was interested in. With that strange coloring, she was curious just where the other fit in at, and also where she was from. Thinking upon herself, Castel supposed she wasn't that plain. She had been teased before about her mask or goggles as some of the males put it. She remember that Godric used to think it cute and tell her that it made her stand out among the rest of the wolves. One day whenever Castel was near a stiller part of the river, she had gazed in at her reflection, trying to see exactly what the others were talking about. Strange that she had never really looked at herself before, yet she assumed everyone did that. Everyone had an idea of what they looked like in their head, but whenever they actually sat down to examine themselves, they questioned if that was truly their appearance, for it didn't match up too well in their head. Either way, she learned that day to pay closer attention to things, even if those things seemed trivial. Funny that now she could apply that logic to a certain black-coated brute(Caspian) and try to read a little more into his actions. He did have feelings, even if she chose to ignore them.

xxxxx"Are you out here wandering by yourself?" she questioned. "You know that could be dangerous. We may have come together as one pack, but that doesn't mean that everyone wolf likes one another just yet..." she pointed out. It was true that this light-rust colored wolf could have potentially set herself up in a trap if Castel was really the kind of wolf who would want to take another out, maybe make it look as if the sickness had gotten a hold of another pack member, but she didn't, at least not now. Sure she was disgusted by this whole unity thing, but in the end it had to be done.

Raja hadn’t really considered the other packs to be defined ‘enemies’ or different for that matter. She had a sense of unity in her mind about the other packs back when they were separated. To her, a wolf was a wolf and they all descended from a common ancestor. Only when enticed or provoked did Raja see that wolf as an enemy until peace was made, if it were made. Until Raja has a reason to dislike a wolf from the start, to her everyone starts with a clean canvas. As she broke through the grass into the matted down grass where the fae was once laying, their eyes met momentarily. Unconsciously, Raja’s fur was standing upon meeting the other female. She was known to go into situations like this without thinking which can come off rather abrasive at sometimes. To make sure there was no tension, she darted her eyes away from direct line of sight with Castel’s. Just from the small amount of time she’d set eyes on the new wolf she could tell she was larger than herself. This made her consider that Castel was either an alpha or a warrior and she quickly dismissed the alpha assumption. If she happen to be an alpha she wouldn’t be out here alone, she’d be with the pack.

Castel then mentioned her coat. She was right; it was rather unusual especially for a hunter. Her bright coat and eyes made it a little harder than the regular hunter to hunt but Raja made up for it in her stamina and agility. She’d always been a great hunter and was proud of it. Raja took note of the other wolf’s markings around her eyes. How interesting! She’d never seen such distinct marks and they amplified the female’s amber eyes. It was like looking at an opposite of her. ”I’m hard to miss,” Raja replied, jokingly. It was more ironic due to the fact that she was a hunter.

Typically, she wasn’t the one to start conversation or ask questions which was a relief for her when Castel questioned her. A Sepentrio warrior; Raja could have walked right into a deadly fight where it was likely she would have gotten beaten badly. She knew the Sepentrio pack was full of warriors who were well trained for what they were. ”I’m Raja from the Anemoi pack and one of the few hunter’s left,” she replied, relaxing a little more. She figured with the word play about being one of the few left Castel would reconsider any sort of impending quarrels or fights.

Hunters were important to the pack now that food was scarce and so were hunters. It scared Raja more than made her feel important. It was never a blessing when there were fewer wolves to provide for; it just made the entire work load heavier on the remaining. ”I wouldn’t consider it wandering. Just… remembering what once was.” She knew it was potentially dangerous, but she’d hoped that she’d be able to smell or track any wolf around her before they could sense her. ”You’re by yourself here too… well you were. Now I’m here, but that’s beside the point. I happen to find you before you found me so I’d say I’m one step ahead,” she said with a slight sarcastic tone. Raja tended to treat ‘strangers’ as she did with acquaintances or friends. It’s not that she wanted to be best of friends, it was mainly because it’s just the way she was. Not really any boundaries filter unless she knew for sure they were enemies.

Raja hadn’t officially met any other pack members until now and hadn’t really thought to initiate any meetings. She was more of an ‘I’ll let them come to me,’ kind of wolf. It probably wasn’t the smartest to meet an unknown wolf in the middle of a large field alone but she figured she’d start somewhere. It was times like these she wished she could smell if the wolf was friendly or not. Then again, there would be fewer risks for her to take if that were possible.

Paws padded swiftly over hard packed earth, wind whipped through grey fur. It had been a long time since the fae had gone for a long run alone. Her sleek form glided swiftly over the earth, lungs expanding as she breathed great lungful’s of air as she ran, tongue hanging out the side of her mouth. After the packs had joined together, the fae had found it hard for her to be around them for too long. She was still having trouble trusting them. They weren’t part of her pack, they weren’t part of Septentrio; how could she trust them? Daenery understood why the packs had come together, it was because of the sickness that had infected their prey, small and large. All the packs were suffering, hers included. It had been hard to watch them die one by one, the strong and weak alike. The fae slowed down until she was just loping, her sides heaving as she tried to slow her racing pulse. She didn’t stop moving, always moving; if she didn’t move she would go crazy, not literally but it was hard for her to just sit around with the other wolves, her skin crawling when she felt eyes on her, particularly from brutes. A low growl escaped her maw at the thought of them and shook her head. Brutes. She didn’t trust them. They made sweet words and promises but never really meant it. One moment they would be so kind and loving while when your back was turned, they’d be slinking off with some other fae with a sly smile on their lips. You just couldn’t trust them.

Having worked herself up again, her thoughts straying to the brute that had hurt and banished her from her birth pack, Daenery darted forward again with a snarl, pushing herself harder as she ran. It wasn’t a smart idea but if she pushed herself hard enough she wouldn’t think, wouldn’t remember. She didn’t want to remember. She’d come here to escape but there would always be brutes, it was inevitable. When she could no longer feel her legs, the fae slowed down and came to a halt, panting as she stood still, her legs shaking with fatigue. She needed to rest and get a drink. Looking around, she began padding south towards the river. Daenery had been running through the forest in Septentrio lands and was between where their old den was and the river. It would take a while to get to the river but the prospect of a cold drink pushed her a little faster, her easy walk turning into an easy lope. It wasn’t good to just completely stop running after a hard run like hers, she needed to keep moving and move she did.

The scent of her pack was still strong in these lands. Though most of Septentrio had moved down by the meadow and the new den for all the packs, it wasn’t uncommon for wolves to travel back to their own lands. The higher wolves hadn’t forbidden them from returning to their own lands and for her, Septentrio lands felt safe. Daenery’s ears perked as she heard the sound of running water reached her. The river was up ahead and with it the prospect of a long cool drink. Her paws carried her swiftly towards the river and right to the edge where she stopped and dipped her muzzle, her tongue lapping at the running water. It felt amazing as the cold liquid slid down her parched throat. She stood there for nearly two minutes drinking her fill before she sat back licking her lips. That felt good. She thought with a sigh, her body relaxing after her run. Her legs had stopped shaking after her long drink and her pulse was back to normal.

Looking up and down the river she saw a few wolves on the other side where the four packs usually stayed as one. Snorting, Daenery slid to her belly, getting more comfortable. She wasn’t in the mood to swim across the river just to get to the other side and the wolves there. She was more than happy to stay here for a while. The sun warmed her pelt and she tipped her head towards the flaming orb in the sky as a light breeze blew past her. It wasn’t often that she got to be alone like this and just be. After the four packs had joined as one, there was always something to do; hunting trips, scouting the borders, the unavoidable scuffles between wolves, there was always something. Opening her grey orbs, she looked up at the blue sky, wondering how many fights might have broken out while she was away. It would be a pity if she’d missed any. The fae enjoyed the occasional scuffle between wolves, even loved to be in them. Though she was smaller than most warriors from Septentrio, she used it to her advantage. They thought she was just a small weak fae that could be easily pinned, but she had a lot of fight in her. She was built more for a running, a scout really, her body lean and fit, but her muscles were tough and she was just as good as the other warriors and fought just as hard, sometimes harder. The fae enjoyed fighting and since the packs joining, there was usually always a fight between wolves from different packs that pissed each other off. It was really unavoidable. How on earth did they think everyone would get along? The fae chuckled at it all. She would see how this all panned out and really, she didn’t see it lasting long.

xxxxxA soft breeze ruffled Kemo’s fur, bringing it with scents of the fresh forest and strange wolves, as he climbed the rocky slope. Tufts of grass poked through cracks in the boulders, and tiny pebbles rolled under his paws. Climbing higher on the ridge Kemo’s keen nose could smell the mingled scents from different wolves. He stopped his paws from continuing on forward as he gazed over the gorgeous view of the line of trees opening to the widened meadow to his final view over the river. Kemo usually went on hikes on the mountains in his pack’s territory, it was his own special thing to do such as other wolves having special spots. Wind buffeted Kemo’s fur as he plunged down the mountain slope towards the rolling foothills below into the forest. As he bounded down the slope his long strides were as smooth as flowing water, his muzzle twitching sniffing the air. Charging ahead, his tufty ears flattened by the wind down on the grassy hills of the forest. He swerved around the direction of his Den site he wanted to stop for a refreshment after his joyful run.

xxxxxStronger scents hit Kemo’s face as he padded along towards the rushing river, shifting through the forest leaves and sticks rubbed and poked along his flanks. Where he was standing was pretty content with the stillness of the air, everything was hushed with soft sounds of nature. Up ahead his eyes rested on Daenery She was a stubborn fae who was known of her temper. Other pack members such as himself are tolerant towards the cold-hearted fae. He didn’t really want to interrupt her on whatever she was doing not knowing whether or not if she would snap at him. Kemo tries to avoid all drama with other wolves that he doesn’t really care about. After all he hasn’t exactly known Daenery long with the Sepentrio pack unlike him he was born and raised with the pack, the fae seemed relaxed didn’t show any signs of wanting company around.

xxxxxHis tongue lapped over his soft muzzle swiping the droplets of water, he consumed a couple more sips, shaking his pelt he trotted away. Reaching towards the grassy lands of the meadow, it was time for him to get back to his den site he had been gone for a while and a lot of other wolves are wandering around today. He didn’t know if any of his pack members were even currently back at the dens anyway. And if there was it would most likely be Blind Seer. Kemo’s ears perked up, muscles throughout his body got tense triggered by a scent of a very unfamiliar wolf near, however it was mixed with the feminine scent of Castel as well. Closer to the scents he gazed over the two she-wolves and gave a friendly nod towards Castel, no problems were being developed between the two, and Castel had it quite under control. Castel was one of the pack members kemo has known for a while, and he’s comfortable with her in his pack as there just genuine warriors working together.

xxxCaspian listened as Icepaw told him that she was doing well but a bit bored. He found himself nodding in agreement. Pack life wasn’t always exciting; sometimes there were slow spots and it was better than fighting off a bear or having another member contract the sickness. Normal was good, he missed normal. Yet nowadays the lives of the wolves were anything but. “I think a lot of them will be on edge for a long time,” He mused almost sadly, looking out into the forest. “There are those that believe Avalon is either crazy or they agree with her ideas. Others don’t care and some are skeptical but we can’t ignore the fact that something is very wrong. Our mutual survive might just depend on each other right now. Maybe someday we’ll be able to return to our old ways but for now it looks like we’ll just have to keep rolling with the changes.” Caspian hadn’t meant to go into a mini speech but when Icepaw didn’t seem to mind he smiled at her words. Ah yes, the Septentrio had escorted a many wolves back to their pack because they had gotten lost in the forest. He listened intently as she told him of her homeland, feeling a shiver when she mentioned they lived close to humans. Those two-leggeds…Caspian didn’t like them and believed they were one of the biggest threats towards his kind besides the sickness. The warrior nodded as he compared her coat to his. Icepaw’s was a bit thicker. It made sense for a wolf to adapt to their surroundings. “Hmmm, I’d like to see your homeland one day. When I was alone I used to travel all the time.”

The two then feel silent but it was a comfortable silence. It was nice to have someone to talk to and he could see himself becoming good friends with Icepaw in the future. She was gentle and didn’t seem to share the views of some who didn’t believe in coming together. Before he could speak again, she turned back to him. At her question his eyes lit up. “Of course!” He exclaimed, getting to his paws and wagging his tail, delighted at the prospect. “We can’t stay away for too long but I don’t see why we couldn’t go for a walk. Nobody from my pack seems to be around anyway.” Caspian was finding that her enthusiasm was catchy and she seemed beyond thrilled that he wanted to go. Then suddenly she was off and he yipped, racing after her. Yes! This is what he needed, to burn this energy away and feel the wind in his fur. The beautiful landscape flew by him as he pulled up beside the Shaman, keeping up with her for the moment. Ah the mountains are so pretty. Caspian thought as they briefly broke through the tree line only to crash through again, the trees on either side of them as they ran. Then Icepaw pulled out in front and he followed her lead as he sailed after her over a log, chuckling at her speed. Damn, she was fast! Soon though he hit the gas and darted past her and when he felt her teeth graze his tail he almost wanted to stop and entice her to play. Castel hadn’t wanted to play with him but Icepaw sure seemed game.

After a while they began to slow and Caspian’s tongue hung out like thick salami as he panted from the exertion, his sides heaving as he came to a stop. Rather than feeling tired he felt refreshed and in a better mood since this morning with Castel. Icepaw conceded her defeated and he turned around to come back to her, bumping her cheek with his muzzle playfully. “Ah but you’re quite fast yourself. I thought you nearly had me back there.” He responded, smiling wolfishly. The brute’s muscles were quivering with adrenaline and they burned pleasently as he lifted his head and sniffed the air. Where could they go? Hmmm…Judging by how his body felt they’d probably run over a quarter mile and East. Which meant that the water fall wasn’t that far off. “I know where we could visit, come on.” Caspian panted excitedly, turning his nose in the direction of the cascading waters. His ears could hear the roar of the falls from here but he took it slow, padding through the beauty of the forest. Maybe later they could go to the meadow that blossomed yellow flowers with the mountain keeping watch. Around 10 minutes later Caspian had found the water fall, coming right up to the edge of the small pool it emptied into. The waters were crystal blue and during the summer season wolves were known to come here to cool off. Looking at Icepaw he said, “We don’t really have a name for this place but it’s one of my favorite spots.” Wagging his black tail he sat down, his paws just touching the water. It was here that the land spoke to him. There was death around them but there was also beauty. Here the wind tickled his ears and the sun warmed his pelt. His claws dug into the earth and he could swear he could feel it move. Nature…it was alive. Which is why he never understood why humans tore it down. “Does your land have any waterfalls?” He asked, turning to look back at Icepaw.

Location: Small waterfall East of North pack den.
      With: Icepaw
OOC: Sabers, feel free to lead them back towards Icepaw's territory if you want or if you wanted to have them hang here longer it's all good. I don't care what you do. ^_^ Unless someone else wanted to stumble upon them. lol

Verue took notice of how the other was acting towards her as she felt her own lips curl into a smile. “You may find my actions different than how a Beta would treat one of the… Lower ranks.” Her ear twitched behind her as she heard one of her own approach, then left almost as quick as she made her presence known. “Although it is true…” Verue began, moving her body around the other. She was circling Avalon but not in a threatening manner as her eyes focused on examining the area around them. “But, for your pack my dear, you are the highest rank. Therefore, I will treat you as such. That is what I would want of you if the river switched its streams direction.” Verue gave another bow of her head, her ears flicking every now and again as other wolves made their way to the large meadow. Some sounds were more distant than others, but she knew that the packs were stirring to life. She lifted her body, making herself seem bigger than what she really was, because in all honesty, Verue was much smaller than normal wolves. Not by much, but it was noticeable. Her orange eyes looked at her own fur, it was well taken care of, as she had to hold an image to her own pack. With summer right around the corner, she knew her grey fur would become darker due to the sun, but it allowed her better stealth at nightfall. “Thank you my dear that is a nice compliment.” She licked her maw, her long pink tongue darting in and out quickly.

Verue glanced around at the orange meadow grass, letting her eyes dance around the other packs territory. Her nostrils flared out as she took a deep breath. “I suppose we should start gathering the others. I know many that are confused, frightened and hungry.” As if on queue, her stomach began to growl. “Including myself it seems.” Her maw curled up into a smile. “I recall the others saying that it might be a week or so out to the next untainted food supply. And although we can’t risk taking the whole, newly formed, pack… We should still leave a few good scouts here. Just incase we need something quicker than what the others can bring back.” She gave a soft sigh, looking up to the direction her pack came from, the south. “I want to make sure every pack is safe, protected, and fed. Friendliness can come at another time, when food isn’t so important. Because honestly, it looks as if we might not make it much longer on scraps, and without any able bodied pack members, our now adjoined packs will not be able to continue on.” Verue’s orange eyes seemed to swirl with sadness as she looked back to Avalon. “What say you? Do you agree, or have another plan in mind? I wish to hear your plans as well as your concerns, I am a superior yes, but in this circumstances, we as leaders must work together with our tongues bitten and our tails between our legs if we wish to survive. It’s the harsh reality that I am witnessing.”
