Marcus looked at Rose and then leaned against one of the pillars and rested his forehead on his arm. "Out of all the battles I've fought and won, I feel as though I'm losing the battle for my own life if its not already lost."
A life lived in luxury, only to be exchanged for a battlefield of not stop destruction and death, the accumulation of his actions have now begun to catch up with him.
"I cant remember the last time I ever slept a full night peacefully.."
He turned his eyes towards Rose..
"And your right Rose.. I cannot find a reason to hate you, and yours are fully justified.."
His body shifted around and he slid down and sat against the pillar resting an arm on his knee.
"The more I interact with you, the more I regret that day.. It should have been me.."
With a light sigh he gazed softly into her eyes, his own masking poorly the pain that stirred behind them. "The more I spend time with you, the more I wonder if half of my fighting, and half of the lives lost... Was it all in vain.. Did I really lead men to their deaths, for a cause that I was fooled to believe was worthy of fighting for.."
He pressed a hand against his forehead covering his eyes..
"In a believed attempt to prevent my kingdoms destruction, I've destroyed myself. What vanity I've fallen into.."

Rose watched him as he leaned on the pillar she was still near the flowers she had been tending. Rose got a bit of satisfaction out of him him not sleeping a full night. "No... i don't think i have either... Bowen was a good man... though good men are in few. As must as i hate to utter it... You are not so bad of a man.... your actions seem to be out of what you thought was noble though... you have nothing truly worth fighting for, as if the tide that stills itself and no longer wants to crash against the rocks to feel their tender touches. To glide against their surface..."" She said looking out at the area he had come to show her. "You are not the only one who blames them self for his death." She sighed and walked to where he was sitting and slowly sat in front of him. "If it was not for me, he would not have sought you out personally and he would not have been so brash as to attack blindly. But i fear that if i had turned him away from our feelings for each other that... he would have just tried harder and would have ended himself sooner." She said looking at the grass and gently spread a mixture of wild flowers around them, the smell was sweet and relaxing. She smiled at the flowers and pulled her knees close to her chest and watched him. "As far as we know Bowen's death was unavoidable. Just as my love for him was. He was my protector, he was what i can not be... Not because i can not take care of myself but because emotionally... i can not handle it. He was the opposite of me in that manor and i was his reason to fight. To get stronger, to always be his best, but he got to brash....Yet... i still miss him everyday...." She looked emotionless as she thought. "I wished it had been me for weeks... near months... then i just grew in the hate... the distaste for your kingdom and who killed my love... never knowing id be forced to marry that very man..." she sighed. "Maybe if i had not fallen for him... things would be different... it might be easier to know one another..." She looked away at the sky. "Or... it could be just the same." She sighed, the skies where endless, as they told stories that non of them could ever dream to know in detail. The sky watched them, it was silent it cried with them when it rained, it showed its anger with wind, and yet.... it always has as story to tell as if written before its own time.

Marcus lifted his eyes towards Rose and held nothing but a gentle gaze. He didnt say a word, just looked at the flowers she had created and the surrounding area. For someone he had only just met, this woman offered a completely new experience for him.
The feelings that stirred in his chest, what were they? Still he remained silent, almost feeling that words couldnt express how he felt now.
"You make me content, Rose.."
For a man who rarely spoke to a woman other than his mother and sisters, or so much as even thought of touching one, Marcus was changing into a different kind of man.
His spirit was returning, rather, Rose was giving him purpose again whether she chose to or not.
This woman before him was to be his wife, and he knew not what he did to deserve such a gift as her. Regardless of what previous reputations kept their families apart, if any delay was done upon them meeting, it would have been Marcus's undoing.
Rising to his feet he turned his back to Rose and gazed further out across the water.
What more could he say..
"I wont let anyone harm you Rose, even if it be my downfall, I owe that much to you."
He glanced over his shoulder before looking back again at the beautiful scenery that rose in front of him.

Rose watched him, this man seemed different then she could have thought a man who had killed the one she loved deeply. "Thank you... Even if you do not mean it... it is a nice gesture." She said pulling herself up and walking to where he was looking out. She was now thinking about Bowen, how it would feel if she was standing in a place like this with him. She looked over at him again. I... wonder if i can ever tolerate this man... He is actually caring about how he... killed Bowen... Bowen if only i could speak to you... She thought. "I...Uhm..." she looked at him and quickly without thinking wrapped her arms around him and took a deep breath and released it as she relaxed. "Thank you for telling me what his last words where... and... for his locket." She almost wanted to give it back to him so that he could simply remember everything as she would always remember Bowen. "I do want to ask... Is it alright if i keep the locket from Bowen.. please...I have not taken it off since he gave it to me..." She looked up at him with pleading eyes. She slowly pulled away from him and clasped her hands in front of her looking down. "I will understand if... if you do not want me to wear it since it is most likely a reminder... and you are to be my husband..." She felt a tear fall down her cheek.

Marcus was taken back when Rose hugged him, the sensation of warmth was something he was never expecting. He turned and smiled at her, almost involuntarily, it just felt like the appropriate response to it. "It belongs to you, not I."
He held onto her hands and spoke softly..
"Rose, while we are to be married, I'm not going to live like a tyrant. Dont ever fear to ask my permission. I will not treat you any less than what you deserve, and what you deserve is constructed in my eyes."
He paused before continuing, trying to collect his thoughts.
"I have never done anything like this before Rose, so I beg your pardon, I'm not what you would call a seasoned gentleman. I will say this, and all I can guarantee is my word, opportunities may present themselves for me to prove by my actions. You will be my wife, and by being that alone, I will treat you as the most valuable part of me. I will do my best to respect you and your opinions, compromise when needed, and always do my best to protect and lead you. You will be the only one who has the key to my heart, so the only thing I ask of you, is to please guard me well. I may be strong physically, and can fight through whatever emotions may hold me down, but you alone, will have the one thing that can break me."
He smiled, "With that said, any man who raises a finger with the intent to bring harm to you, will have me to contend with, and the army I can muster."
Marcus awaited Roses response, and then he felt it was probably best to return to the dining hall. Concluding her reply, he held his elbow out to escort her back.

Rose sighed. "Thank you... its the only things i have left of him..." She pulled hers out and opened it showing his name, as she closed it she placed the one she had been holding that belonged to Bowen and slipped it over her head and allowed them to rest together. She tucked them into her dress hearing him speak. "I do not want you to feel you are obligated to love me... though you are to be my husband, and we where raised to be enemies you and i are still free to feel how we do. Though if you ask it of me i will guard your heart.... but only if you promise that you will not fall to the same fate that Bowen has... i could not stand to know it is i who is bad luck for men and their lives...That is not something i could bare... though i hate what you did to him... i can not wish to be why you died." she said though she did not say she wished him any harm, but there was part of her that felt he suffered enough and she should accept what has happened and move on. Damn Alex... i would not be feeling this way if he was not so level hedaded and trying to get me to just accept his death. Rose looked up at him. "I will do my best to be a wife.... and if you ask of it... give you children..." she saw his arm and politely wrapped her arm through it and smiled. She was not sure how to tell her brother about the news and sighed. She hated that he was actually attractive, it made hating him really hard. "My brother is not going to be to happy..." She said sighing as she let him lead her back.

Marcus for the first time felt complete as he walked with Rose. A strange serenity filled the air and allowed him to be a peace. "Thank you, Rose."
They continued to walk through the garden together their clothes mostly dried, but damp none the less. It was a truly eventful time, and all the while started when Marcus wanting to get some fresh air. He was sure by now that dinner was about to be served, or at least was close to it.
"Are you needing to step to your room to change? If so, would you like an escort to and from?"He smiled charmingly at her, "I did after all, hear you ask the servant for directions when the dogs went rampaging." A small chuckle came out as he awaited her reply.

Rose nodded. "Oh.. you are welcome... Might i ask for what though?" She asked him as she allowed him to lead her to the castle again. Once there he asked if she needed any guidance to her room. She nodded. "Yes... actually... My father might not enjoy seeing me damp and makeup messed up as im seen with a male." She said with a smile and let him lead her through the back way up to her room. "Thank you." she said as she entered it shutting the door behind her as she went searching for a new dress to wear. She looked at her makeup and sighed, it did need a bit of touching up. She sat at the vanity quickly and got most of the smudging fixed so she could reapply her makeup. She then stripped from her dress keeping an eye on her door not wanting Marcus in the room even though he was supposed to be her husband. Not even Bowen had seen her naked. She slipped off her old dress and put on the new dress and tied it on herself glad she had not picked to difficult of a dress to wear. She sat again at her vanity and started putting the makeup on smiling as she approved of her look, this time though she let her hair hang down minus the bit that she pinned out of her face. She took Bowens necklace off and sighed as she placed the one with her name in it in the jewelry box. Finally felling better she slipped some new shoes on and met Marcus out side of her room. "If i get lost again, it is on you... im horrible at remembering where to go..." she said smiling.

Maxentius Humbert Radford
“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

Yes, it was his downfall. He was usually dependent upon his own strength and what he could accomplish with his own two hands so he had more than a difficult time asking for help, even from his wife Morianna. Though he knew there was nothing wrong with it, he wasn't like one of those pig-headed sexist men who believed getting help from a woman made you less of a man. If anything, he gladly welcomed her hand that had to vigorously push him to be sitting down on the bed, even if he didn't budge until she pushed him hard enough. It was just a silent prank to help lighten the mood and Maxentius would stop at nothing to see that smile on her face instead of a frown or any other look you could think of. "If I'm an ox, than you must be an angel my love. And thank you Morianna" he said thanking her as she was finished. Before he could stand up to check his look in the mirror, her lips pressed to his cheek, and Morianna told him something that meant their after dark festivities were ensured to be quite exciting and heated. He turned his shoulders as he looked over his appearance in the mirror and he set his broadsword in the scabbard. Hearing her voice call him for assistance, he had to chuckle softly at her comment. "I don't just know, I'm the best at taking your clothes off" he added and gave a single boastful laugh for a man fitting his size and somewhat rough demeanor, but alas she still needed his help so he stepped close behind her. Slowly and sensually he pressed his palms flattened against her shoulders, his fingers softly sliding along the clothing, pressing enough for her skin to feel it as he closed his hands closer together and start to work the little string laces on the back of her dress. He smirked, wondering if he should put the laces in the knot that only he knew how to untie. That would definitely mean he would have to undress her later, but to play such a prank so soon in their current situation would've been very off-putting so he just laced them together accordingly and properly. "There you are my dear. Now." he turned his body, the left side of his body facing her as he extended out his bent left arm to her for her to take and interlock her arm around. "Don't worry about the children love. I know it's hard for you not to, given the circumstances we now find ourselves in, but even I have doubts this first evening together will not go well. Call it a hunch, but I'll be comfortably surprised if this dinner goes anything less than poorly" he told her, sharing his obvious doubts about the situation. He suspected the first couple or few days to consist of a bitter resentment towards each other, but who knows. Miracles are possible if you believe in them right? "Shall we entertain are ever so gracious guests, who had the polite courtesy to invite us to their summer home, my dear" he finished, wearing his signature bold, but gentle smile.

Morianna enjoyed his laughter, and took his arm holding it as they walked towards the Banquet Hall. She wasn't asking for perfection but merely for their children to at least be behaved, she hoped at least that much they would indulge. As she walked beside Maxentius she couldn't help but feel that perhaps he was correct in his statement. It was after all the first night here. Stepping intot he Banquet Hall she was a slight disappointed to see that it was not full of her children and the Cleganes as well.

Why we can't possibly be early. So then I wonder as to where the children could have gone off to?, she thought to herself as she seen that King and Queen Clegane where in their places and so the other positions at head of table must be their owns. She might have charged forthwith had she been younger in years but she kept at Maxentius' side until the moment she sat.
Her gaze lingered over to her youngest daughter Meoldie and she wondered as to where Rosetta might be. It was not like her to be late, and even more so she knew better than to be. As for her sons...
She looked to Queen Margaret Clegane and smiled softly to her.

"Greetings. I was hoping I might get to meet you, Lady Margaret. We have settled quite nicely into our rooms. This is suredly a wonderful Castle. Thank you for your hospitality...It is far too gracious of you. I fear some of my brood may be some time in joning us...They have not seen such a wonderous place such as this in quite some years. The Gardens are simply lovely, dear. Simply marvelous. Might you have picked out some of the plants yourself?"
Her other hand slipped to rest on Maxentius knee as she conveyed to him, And once more I see that our sons grow more and more like their Father with each passing day. I should seek them out in this way but fear I might not be very sociable if I do...and the children do so hate to have me barge into their minds in such a manner.

She moved her hand from him and laughed covering her mouth softly at her own comments and question. "Ah but perhaps I speak too much. But please feel free to seek me at any time at your own pleasure from forthwith. Both of you. I would be more thna happy to indulge in idle conversation."
Morianna took up the chalice before her and a maid rushed over to fill it with red wine. She tasted it and set the chalice aside. She had learned many years ago the dangers of over drinking at such court proceddings but this...This was a bit different from the dealings of home.

anthony left mary with the worst task of getting one child ready as he left to find another and ask her to do something very important, though he dreaded the idea, he had no choice, she was the eldest and the first to marry, also it is there home so she would need to be the one to make it. as he walked the halls pinching his nose he sighed and headed for sapphires room, finding alana going in the same direction "oh hello my dear, your looking good, shouldnt you be heading to the dining hall for the dinner?" he asked as he walked stopping by sapphires room he tapped on the door "sapphire i must speak with you"

    Victor von Radford
If you want to judge a man's true character, look at how he treats those of lower status.

After resting in his seat for a while, sipping on water and resting after a long day's worth of work, Victor took mental notes of the room, the positioning of the chairs, the place set of the table, the patterns on the walls and ceiling, the lighting, and other details of the room. It was rather beautiful, but quite boring: to Victor, being inside always felt like being penned in, as though houses and castles weren't just homes but elaborate cages built specifically to make people want to be inside of them. Standing up, Victor decided to try and find a place outside to relax until he would be needed for the dinner.

Leaving the room, Victor didn't take long to spot that girl from earlier again, standing in front of the door of some room, seemingly waiting on someone to answer. It was curious: did she really leave the room just to wait outside someone's locked room? Victor figured the door wasn't open since she had yet to go inside, shrugging as he passed by her.

"If you want, I can knock for you. Perhaps they didn't hear when you knocked the first time."

Marcus held his elbow out to Rose and began escorting her down the halls, simply offering a grin when she mentioned how she got lost. After a few turns here and there, passing some small book cases and various artworks and fountains, they arrived in front of his door.
"Now I see it only fair if I too change my attire, so if you will excuse me momentarily." There were a few chairs just outside of his door that she could sit in as he stepped inside pushing the door closed, or atleast mostly closed. It was cracked slightly, but he didnt notice it as he began to change.
Meridius grabbed his clothing that had been chosen by his servants, off of a clothes stand. His favorite colors were crimson, black, contrast with an eloquent white complemented by silver buckles.
He removed his shirt and revealed a back littered with scars. It looked almost like the body of a slave, one scar running down part of his arm, another across his back, and all of them zig-zagging back and fourth. He put his new attire on, and slipped his boots up on top of the stool at the end of his bed.
The door suddenly creaked open all the way and he turned his head over to see Rose.
With a smile he latched his boot buckles and put his hood down off his head, and walked towards her.
"I believe we are ready to dine."
Rose had a stunningly beautiful dress, and the strange irony is there clothes matched. While hers yes had a golden stream embroidered by black, his red and black blended well with hers.
It would be interesting to see the reaction of everyone when they arrived from their previous departure.
    "You look very beautiful.."
As he stuck his arm out for her to take hold off. They walked down the halls and eventually arrived at the dining room where everyone appeared to be talking back and fourth, and awaiting the food and remaining guests.
Marcus walked Rose over to her chair and pulled it out for her, pushing it in as she sat down, to which he walked around and sat himself across from her.
The thought felt like only moments ago when he was here and went out to get some fresh air, and now instead of feeling turmoil, he felt peace.
He looked up at Rose and offered a gentle smile as he turned his head to see what people took notice to their arrival.

Rose nodded. "Naturally." She commented on him needing to change. She waited a bit as the door seemed to be slightly opened she peeked just in time to see the man's scars on his back. She covered her mouth and pulled back as it was not her business to be asking him such things even though he was to be wed to her. She waited a bit longer then of course the door opened a tad bit more so she looked to see he was nearly dressed completely. She gave him a slight smile as he came out. "Thank you, and you look elegantly handsome." She said as she took his arm and allowed him to lead her through the halls so that she did not get herself lost, again. Soon they where back where they had started and she took her seat yet again next to her brother as the man pulled the seat out and pushed it in for her. She folded her hands in her lap as he moved to the other side of the room and took the seat. She could feel her distaste was still there even though their stolen time together was nice she did not feel like its was enough to completely forgive or even forget what he had done. She pulled her necklace out and started to fiddle with it again as she always did when nervous. She noticed there was another brother from the other family sitting not far from Marcus as he was across from her younger sister who she was still upset with. She looked at Marcus and wondered how he was feeling now, he had killed her lover and now he had to marry the women that was once fought for deeply. How could a man feel with such a thing on his shoulders? She motioned for a servant to come she needed water to calm herself. "Water please." She spoke softly to the girl and waited for the drink. Her thoughts began to consume her while she waited. Would Bowen approve of this man if he knew? What is Alex to think? He did agree with Bowen, oh this is just turning horrible fast... what if Marcus really knew what was going to happen? That he really knew who i was, whom Bowen was fighting for.... Is he even attracted to me? Is this a sick joke.... Maybe... Maybe im sleeping... Under the table she moved her right hand to her left arm and pinched herself. OUCH!... nope... im awake... I am to marry.... Bowens killer... Though... he did not do it in cold blood... Her breathing was a bit rash as the women finally handed her a drink. "Thank you so much." she said politely. Unlike her sister Rose tended to be very polite and well mannered and not because it was what she was taught to do, it was because Rose felt it was best. She had once befriended a servants child before she was forced to take her lessons that her mother had wanted her to take. She started to hum a small song as she looked down at the glass of water. She felt a tear threatening to break through as she hummed the song then looked back up making contact with the man before her. She closed her eyes and sighed. She saw her parents and winced a bit, since she had just now realized they where there.. "suddenly, swooping low...rising up... a mighty monster from his sleep..." she whispered extremely low not knowing that Marcus might hear her as she hardly used any sound. She looked at her parents. "Mother, father." she smiled at them and gave a slight nod to both. She was by all means wanting to please her parents. She leaned to her brother. "Alex... I need to speak to you alone soon." She whispered to his ear.
