End result is it kills the dog. But before that they'll get extremely sick, and in a very short period of time. Blood in the stool, vomiting, loss of appetite/thirst/energy. Usually owners notice when their normally playful dogs won't even get out of bed. I couldn't tell you the technical description of what happens inside the dog but I assume it's related to the digestive tract.

I saw my puppy today.
Made me very happy, because she got up and walked to me and gave me kisses when she didn't do that for anyone else in my family.
We might be able to take her home tomorrow if she is doing just as good.
