I look forward to seeing the banner! ^_^ You could really do anything you want in design. You have a certain quality about your art that is innovative and unique. You've got so much more than the "cut and paste and add some font" in you (that some designers *cough "me"* seem stuck in) - you have ideas - great ones! smile I loved what you showed me! It's really original and cool. cool

Don't feel bad. sad I've had some, shall we say "interesting" experiences in the past that have left me a bit nervous about some kinds of things. And, I'm still learning. This will be *counts* my 3rd thread as a TC. One (3 years ago) went well, another hasn't started yet and is one less heartbeat away from being a stillborn baby. *prays for it* And then, there's this one, so I have a lot to learn. Additionally, I'm sure that there are many variations in the way TCs do things, so - it can get confusing at time.

Aww, you know, I should have waited to respond until later. I was sort of flustered and nervous when I responded, so I sounded like "Commander Mom" singing the song "R-E-S-P-E-C-T" in my response, probably. Holding the opinions that I do about what a TC should or shouldn't do, I should have just said, something like "No thanks, I'll take care of that. Thank you for the offer of help, though." I know that you were just trying to be helpful. smile

I really need to not do that - not assume that, because of one negative experience, anyone that's trying to help is a potential hijacker.

I am SO excited! We are about to start! I did the abilities/vulnerabilities stuff, did a bunch of formatting in the OOC to make it more attractive and easier to read, and in a few minutes, will do some in the RP thread, do some quick research about Finland, and post some more info ... what else is there to do ... I pm'ed the abilities and vulnerabilites to everyone, so one last pm after all that stuff is open to ask for people to send me their abilities to post in their profiles, and then, we are open! smile

Well, I might post with ... Anja first, maybe. Katri's such a frigid person that I don't think that she'd make a good first post perspective. Yeah, maybe starting with Anja would be good - she could be listening to the last song or two of the concert, thinking about the band's travel plans, etc. I wonder if I could finish the other stuff in time to post for her tonight ... probably, but I don't want to make any promises on that - still a lot of small (but important) details to sew up quickly.

I'm right on the edge of maybe changing her occupation to hairstylist/makeup artist. I think it would be mad fun, though perhaps a little cruel to her to have to make her rapidly face up to her fears of being around someone she's that attracted to. "I have to touch his face and hair ... I cannot do that ... " *hyperventilating and trembling* I can imagine her having to practically force herself into a near out-of-body experience just to be able to accomplish the feat while still appearing professionally calm and poised. That could be interesting, but I don't imagine it would ever be easy for her to do something like that, even after she's not as shy around him, after having gotten used to his presence a bit more. In situations like that, she'd be nervous, shy, and perhaps a bit of a prude about doing something that she should be thrilled to do. She'd probably be partly thrilled but mostly terrified. *chuckles softly* The situation would probably be a bit cliche though, and probably too fangirly. It would be funny, but I think I shall refrain from going down that path. *fights self* She has never had a really deep crush on anyone before, so the poor dear has no idea what to do, but merely wishes the ground would swallow her up, and yet yearns to see him at the same time. (How well I remember those kind of feelings ...) I know she seems like a cliche, but there really are girls that shy around the guys they like. How I know? I used to be that way - right up until I dated for the first time at age 20, after that, I was seldom ever that shy around a guy I liked. But yes, girls that shy around guys do exist.

If I mention her adored one at all in her first post, I think I'll try to make it sort of vague and watered down, really watered down, but she definitely would have noticed him and started feeling that way. Perhaps some vague reference to her mingled relief and regret that the stage crew was not sitting in first class on the flight with the band, but back in business or economy class, and maybe some reference to him that's a bit more specific, but really toned down.

I'm so sad that I didn't see this post! I was wandering around the internet, looking up stuff for the rp, and forgot to check this thread again until just now! sad Sorry I missed you. How do you feel about the vulnerabilities and abilities listing? I thought that everyone would probably have a different idea of things, and trying to hash it out would be too long, so I used your ideas, and some of mine, and some from Dracula, some from ancient vampire folktales ... trying to create a vampire species that works for the setting we're in - they have to give the appearance of being human under the circumstances they live in:

They don't instantly die in sunlight (which would be impractical for our traveling folks) but it can make them very ill, so they would stay indoors as much as possible during the daytime, and only venture out when thoroughly covered up, easily explainable by their need for privacy and safety in public as celebrities.

They can and do sleep for a small portion of the night (like the last 2 or 3 hours of darkness) so that they are not completely nocturnal - people just think they like to party and sleep in for most of the day.

They are able to process food, as they are public figures and may need to eat at times to put up a show of eating, but it is tasteless (source: the anime series Karin, I admit, but that pre-dates Twilight)

Drinking - if human food is tasteless, than human drinks should be tasteless too.

Biting - temporary theft of power - I think I'm probably going to remove it. I've never seen that anywhere, though I haven't read all the vampire fiction out there, so maybe someone has already thought of this. I brainstormed this idea and thought it could make for interesting plot fodder, but it is turning out to be controversial. I like the idea, but I'm not married to it and will probably chuck it either tonight or tomorrow.

Yes, I would love for you to post tomorrow! In fact, other stuff relating to the thread got me side-tracked, so I'm not going to have time to post tonight, so you can open tomorrow if you'd like - I'd be relieved, as I have to go to bed soon, and need to do a quick bit of research on Finland to put up a few facts and then I can open the thread.

What powers would you like your vampires to have? Or did you already tell me - my brain is like jello tonight ... blarg ...
