In Tokyo, there's always these swanky clubs and tastefully fine lounges, elegant restaurants and stylish, huge hotels that manage to intermingle with conglomerates and skyscrapers. This is where the business men come to when they walk out there office doors and say they're getting a 'quick drink', and when they say that they mean round up a couple of guys, or girls, go to a nice area that's polished and chic, take one of the private rooms with the comfortable leather seats and order a some cool drinks. It's their chill spot, their escape from work just for a little while. But less than five minutes from the Tokyo Station, you'll step into Akihabara, Field of Autumn Leaves. And if you go further down those streets, you'll find a few more lounge spots, small shops, and maybe even a small café. And that's where the Strawberry Syrup Café and Lounge comes in. It's not hard to find, just look for the simple baby blue signboard hanging from an antique wrought iron hook, and you've found it. It's between two small businesses, a flower shop on the left and a petite clothing store to the right. It's a cute and pretty large area, colored in soft colors and arranged in a way that resembles a modern luxury spa resort, complete with koi pond and expensive antique dinnerware and full of pretty girls that behave in a "cute" and "moe" manner and dressed in the most adorable French inspired maid outfits that are low-cut to show off the legs and chest, excessively colorful and/or frilly, and usually with white apron of variable length. Sometimes, the maid outfit is augmented with cat or bunny ears dressed.
That's right, Strawberry Syrup Café and Lounge is a Meido kafue, also know as a Maid Café, which is in the category of Cosplay restaurant. Such places originated in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan around the year 2000, and these cafés have quickly become a staple of Japanese otaku culture - boys in particular. The service at Maid Cafés involves the creation of a rather different atmosphere, when a person enters the café, the maids typically give an extraordinarily humble greeting, such as "Okaerinasaimase, goshujinsama!" (Welcome home, Master!) in order to play the role of a house servant. The staff will treat the customers as their masters and mistress (such if a female would happen to ever walk in). And not only do they take and deliver food and beverage orders, but they take special care to pamper whomever they're serving - stirring and serving milk and sugar for coffees or teas, and generally fawning over a customer's every request.
Now Strawberry Syrup Café and Lounge is known for their high standards for excellence. They have world class chefs working on cakes and pastries, gourmet teas and coffees from around the world, and - or so the concesus is - the hottest, most efficient maids in the country, all of them are pretty much high school students as well. Plenty of customers spill in, half of the time none of them are simply just otaku, but sometimes distinguished businessmen and the general public often pop in to the café. No wonder this café was the most popular spot in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan.
That was until a brand new, larger, and more stylish café was established right across the street. It was called the Cherrybean Café. Except this one was a shitsuji kissa, or Butler Café. The butlers in this café are well-dressed male employees and may wear either a typical waiter's uniform or even a tuxedo or tails. This new Butlers Café in Tokyo is tapping into the popular fantasy that a female customer will grow up to meet their Prince Charming. The Japanese woman there can forget for a few hours that they are in polished and crowded café and enter a world where a handsome man rushes to the tinkle of her bell, goes down one knee and asks: "Yes, my princess?", even when they walk in, they are presented their own tiara.
The café also offers a variety of homemade food, sweets and drinks, as well as photo shoots in which a favorite butler holds the woman in the air. There, the girls are really treated kindly and respectful, and they do feel appreciated. Plus, all the butlers are very cute, cheerful and sweet high school students!
On it's first opening, the Cherrybean Café had attracted exactly 2,135 customers.
What is the problem here, you ask? Well, it's the fact of the two Cafés being right across from each other. They're different, gender-wise, but they're still the same type of restaurants And when you put a new restaurant across from another, they're is going to be competition. The Cherrybean Café is stylish and new, but will it be able to win against the all-time favorite Maid Café Strawberry Syrup? Or will they fall under it's handsome glory?
Or maybe, just maybe, they can just learn to deal with each other?
The roleplay itself will be centered around not only the café, but on Kanuma Higashi HS, which is the school the girls and boys both attend to. New or old romances will be sparked, fights will occur, and tears will shed. So welcome to STRAWBERRY SYRUP!

You know what would be funny?
If they went through all that, all of THAT, just to find out that the principal had sent them an early notice (THAT THEY MISSED) that they didn't have to come work for festival after all, and that he thought of instead of cooking sweets and desserts, which he believed to be unhealthy, he hired a ramen restaurant to serve the people. xD
EDIT: So the two cafe's will leave their post, the ramen shop will eventually lose it's credibility because someone spotted a roach in their soup (THANKS TO THAT CHERRYBEAN GUY), and instead of going home everyone decides to celebrate at the end. xDD
