I'm pretty sure Taylor's momma knew exactly what she was doing.
I suspect she may have even attempted to increase her fertility
and specifically wanted a child out of it.
Something about learning more about fairy magic or using their own magic against them.
I suspect the surprise for her was actually loving the little s**t.
