I thought you where talking about another ship, that the son
was on that crashed as he was fleeing the skeleton pirates
or what have you... so what's the old ship have to do with anything??

Bartamus sent Tala to the old ship to get a pouch containing gemstones that were lost when the original ship crashed... There was no vessel that was recently crashed, only the remnants of the first airship when the roleplay started - which was where he was sent...
