Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hello everyone who happens upon this thread and is interested.

I am in desperate need of help from anyone who would like to roleplay Dragonriders of Pern on a site. My site, going by the name of Lua Caida Weyr, has recently had its activity plummetting. Our Weyrleader has disappeared, and people are busy. We need more members to keep the activity up.

Right now, there is a flight going on with an interesting twist, and a clucth of fifteen eggs hatching with not enough Candidates to take the eggs.

The Dragon Colors:
-Ohlo
-Gold
-Sola
-Bronze
-Naveir
-Brown
-Terra
-Calor
-Frio

This Weyr IS a little different, and some interesting plots shall be coming up in the near future. So please come and atleast look it over. We need the members, and no matter how literate you are, we need you.

Interested in reading the plot? Here it is:

After the discovery of dragon telekinesis, most people took it as an odd occurrence that dragons could now lift things, and move things by their mind. The people of Pern learned to live with it, as astronomy grew as well. Telescopes were starting to reach farther areas, as the astronomers learned how to build and manipulate these new devices. Pern was thriving, despite that Thread was still falling from the skies despite AIVAS attempts to stop it from orbiting close enough to drop the Threads onto Pern. The Southern Continent was well developed and functioning much as the Northern Continent always had. The two continents were working together to keep Pern thriving even in Thread times.

The 11th Pass was coming to a close, and all seemed to be going fine. Though a small group of Holders had retreated to themselves, Pern seemed to be doing well, and Thread would stop falling for yet another 200 Turns. That night, the folk of Gleaming Moon Weyr noticed that the beautiful moons had dropped from the sky. It did not return to Pern’s sky for two sevendays, and when they did they seemed to be only above Gleaming Moon. The star that had lit the beautiful planet was dimmed by some force, which was questioned by those on Pern. The moons hovered above the Weyr, a lasting symbol of hope.

All the Weyrs, Holds, Halls, and every inhabited part of Pern were ravaged by a plague. It swept through and killed, maimed, injured, and despaired. The plague was merciless; taking anyone it got its cold and deadly hands upon. Weyrleaders, Weyrwomen, Dragonriders, Holders, drudges, pretty much any person or animal on Pern could be affected by the plague. The only creatures that seemed to escape its midst were the dragons. Even their cousins watch-whers and firelizards succumbed to the plague. The dragons stood true over the plague, but as most knew viruses could change form.

A new plague swept over the dragons soon after the plague on humans had decimated Pern. This plague caused many dragons to go /between/ for apparently no reason. A dragon could be healthy one day, and go /between/ the next. Many more riders died, unable to handle the grief of their fallen partners. This plague lasted about ten to fifteen turns, causing the depopulation of many Weyrs. A number of smaller Weyrs were abandoned, with too little of a population to keep them running. The Southern Continent was abandoned once more, with the exception of those of Lua Caida, as people needed to stick together in the North. Lua Caida and the Holds that tithed it were isolated from the others, and many strange things happened over the course of the Turns in darkness.

One such thing was an odd mutation in the telekinesis that dragons’ possessed. At a few Hatchings, new colors popped up. Their new and odd colors were not the only things that set these dragons apart. Their telekinesis was honed to specific elements, and would have more effect in that area than in the many other tasks that they could perform with this ability. It took a great amount of training, and each dragon had its own level of talent. For example, one dragon that was honed to water would be able to create tsunamis, while another might only be able to cause ripples. It all depended on their clutchparents and their bondeds.

Now, as the 12th Pass of the Red Star nears, two new red spots have appeared in the night sky. No one is exactly sure of what they are, and only time will tell. So now, as the dark skies of Pern show three blood red dots, the people of the rebuilding Pern, and Lua Caida and it’s Holds all wonder what will become of them, and if the light will ever come back
