I'm looking for people who would like to join me in a modern day realistic mafia RP I was thinking of something like having two families, one would be our characters and the other would be an NPC family that we are at war with. I usually write around a paragraph or two but I'm not too fussy about how much other people post as long as you TRY to stay away from one liners.
I have not created a thread yet because I am hoping to find some people who would like to RP before I make a thread for it.
While I do want to focus on realism I would like to use the type of "realism" you see in Mafia style movies like Goodfellas, Casino, Analyze This, Analyze That, The St. Valentines day massacre. So basically, a bullet will still hurt or kill you (Depending on where you're hit) but if you want to slide across the room on a cart while shooting at bad guys (Or would it be shooting at the good guys?) Jon Woo style then I'm all for it. Mostly, I just want to have fun RPing as a Gangster.
Sounds quite interesting; haven't been in a roleplay for quite a while and i'm in a semi lit phase so yeah, might as well count me in?
It wouldn't really be that bad if you have both mafia families 'playable', but that's your choice i guess. could i recommend that the number of spots is limited? And to have some 'pre-made' character roles? so you can assure you have a flowing roleplay which won't get stuck within the first 5 pages >.>
Just a short question; does 'realistic' mean that you also want real pics?
Well, I figure if we get more members then I would open up the second family but if you split up your few RPers right at the begining then you get people who have to RP alone in a thread full of people and then of course, that get's boring so they stop posting >.< If we keep the initial RPers together then it makes it more fun for everyone.
I'm glad you're interested though, that gives me hope biggrin
Well, i suppose that makes sense razz I'll be around for a while, hopefully we could get more people. If you want to, you might as well start the thread, but post each section (intro, story, rules, etc) at every...lets say 30 minutes? So you can attract more people through that thread too :3 Works for me most times.
Erk sorry, I got distracted while reading your post and forgot to read the whole thing >.<
As for your picture, I would prefer a real picture but I really don't care too much. It's not going to be a rule or anything if you want to use an anime pic or something go ahead. Just don't have a dude that looks like Edward Scissorhands trying to be a mobster. and there would be some "pre-made" characters although they would more or less just be names and positions (I am NOT going to make full profiles for NPC characters that are going to get phased out eventually)
Also, I figured everyone could have their main character and their own NPC just in case their character gets stuck with another one. Also, I want to set a rule where say you and I are RPing together and I disappear for a few days then you'd be able to just sorta magically wake up at home and continue on RPing doing something else.
Well, that too makes sense razz I understand the need for NPCs and how we should make the rp go on smoothly, but i was referring to the character positions (sorry if i hadnt made myself clear, kinda dizzy from donating blood). you know, such as The Leader, Assasin 1, Assasin 2, Financiar Manager, Dealer, and so on, spots which roleplayers are going to fill up with their characters biggrin
Oh goody! shoot me the thread link when your are done please :3
Okay sweet, I'm going to try to get just the basics written up today but as we figure things out I'll make changes to the front page biggrin I want to get the basic information down and set some ground rules (Which will most likely be similar to the ones in my other thread minus the no anime picture rule.
I wouldn't mind just editing that thread to fit a modern setting, I liked that idea. I would eliminate a few of the families, and the extra gang, remove the rule about not using anime pictures. To be honest, I don't care how people want to imagine their characters. I'm sure you don't imagine my character the same way I do, and I don't imagine your character the same way you do.
