In 1740 in the country of Myrth, an oppressive regime ruled the country, which had only recently come in power after a classified coup. The public was led to believe it had been a peaceful transition of power and that the previous leader left the country due to personal reasons. Supporters of the old government, who were doubtful of the rapid exchange of power, began investigating the coup.

Most of these supporters mysteriously vanished or showed up dead in the weeks and months following the investigation. A small group survived, keeping themselves hidden from the government. The regime grew in power, exploiting the new technology of Nucleoid power. This source of energy was cleaner and more powerful than anything else ever seen. Eventually the Nucleoid power was translated into weapons, and with that, the government grew in corruption.

Then, in 1745, not five years after the coup, a massive disease hit the country, almost simultaneously. Thousands were infected daily, and hundreds died. The numbers escalated until more than fifty percent of the population was infected. The infection reached the bloodstream by any contact of blood to skin. The infected, known as “weepers”, cry blood and are known to get violent; they are mostly brain dead. They are not undead however, and eventually die of blood loss or energy deprivation. The total time given upon infection is 18 days before death.

After the outspread of the disease, the rich and powerful built gates that disallowed people to enter their isolated districts. These gates are built from raw Nucleoid power, and if anyone attempts to cross, they are vaporized on contact. Guards protect these gates, as they can be turned off if one is knowledgeable. Tallboys, tall robots, are the most powerful of these guards, and have turrets that shoot on sight.

The survivors of the supporters of the old democratic government formed an underground organization of rebels who gathered information on the new regime known as Unity. They attracted others to join their ranks, many of which had their own personal reason to dislike the current government. Unfortunately, due to the necessity of funds, the organization began turning to darker channels. Now in it’s sixth year of existence, Unity is a notorious guild of assassins and thieves. This is how they are known, and although their ways are unethical, every kill they do, every clue they steal, is one step closer to freedom from oppression.

It is 1746, and After returning from their last mission, Unity's most infamous members realize the disease outbreak had been created by the government to control the overpopulation of the ghettos. But of course, the disease went out of control so the entire country is overflowing with infection. With this information, the members of Unity are one step closer to taking down the government.

The world in which this takes place is entirely fictional, and although it parallels Earth, it has stark differences. I have only focused on the country of Myrth, because our characters have to be loyal to this land, and desire to change it instead of leave it.



█ █ █ ████████████ 〖☠〗 ｔｅｃｈｎｏｌｏｇｙ


Technology grew exponentially in this world, leading to the development of many wonderful things. Nucleoid power, the biggest difference this world has with ours, is a recyclable, renewable energy that powers most machines. It is contained in clear cylinders and glows brightly blue. Skycycles, a sort of hover motorcycle, are the main method of individual transportation. As for transportation of multiple humans, there are massive Nucleoid powered airships. Humanoids are more powerful in this world--They can run faster, jump higher, and punch harder. The entire planet is run on steam-machines and Nucleoid power. Many people have robotic limbs due to the dangers of living around huge turning cogs and steam releasing valves.

The base of Unity takes place in a massive solar powered air ship. This airship has a cloaking device that protects it from being seen by government drones. The airship itself was stolen from a travel company in the earlier years of Unity, and after the tech-savvy members fixed it up, it became the ideal place of operations. Members leave the base via skycycles.
