          ..Background
The town of Dience. An ancient town, this place was. A place that had a good population, a tightly knit community, and a strong sense of culture. Years before, when founding this place, all seemed like Hell was against them. The soil began to rot with all sorts of unknown matter, making food impossible to grow. Feuds between families began to bubble for the smallest of reasons. Also, to top it all off, the grand mayor and founder of Dience was murdered. The killer was never caught, and the only thing left behind from the criminal mind was a jeweled necklace. It was placed upon the grave of the poor, dead man later on.

The trace of hope in building this town ceased after the tragic death. The mayor was the one that had brought up the strength to continue this dream project of his. Many moved away from the dying town after the long funeral of the beloved elder. After a short while, the population was just a mere forty.

Two of those citizens were mere children. One, a boy the age of twelve. The other, a girl of ten. They played all day and into the late night the simple games of hide-and-go-seek, jump rope, and tag. Giggles was all that was heard from these children, as they were filled with ignorance of what was really going on in the world.

Their giggles were last heard in the newly made graveyard for the major long ago. The usual thing they would do, but never so late in the night. Not even moonlight tickled at the earth's crust. However, candles were lit all around the grave in respect for the dead man. This attracted the children, and the girl ran up to the mound of dirt to see what this was all about. On the headstone, she spotted a necklace. The necklace and its' gems glittered thanks to the fire burning off of the wicks. It was the very same necklace that was found at the scene of the murder.

The girl knew nothing of that, and she snatched the piece of jewelry up in her hands.

She ran over to her friend, and told him what she found. The boy, a smart one at that, recognized the accessory. The hair on the back of his neck rose while a shiver went down his spine. He had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, so he declared that the girl should return the necklace back to where it belonged. The girl protested, and soon they began to do a 'Tug-o-War' with the necklace. One yelled that they should keep it, the other screamed to put it back.

The yelling abruptly halted, and a cracking noise boomed into the air without warning.

All that was left of them, was the necklace.

[ We will Not be Forgotten ]

The people of Dience thought that it was just luck that brought this town back to its feet. After the disappearance of the children, the soil became fertile... Peace covered the small land... Families became friends once more... It was like heaven on earth. Soon, the population of this town grew rapidly. The happiness of this sudden blessing brought joy to everyone's hearts, and the children were soon forgotten in all the happiness.

The two children coulld not allow that. The fact that they were lost in the memories of their family angered them. These spirits, whose bodies have left this world, would not permit this act their families had done. They both decided that they would teach their families a lesson, one that they will never remember nor forget.

Bizarre things began to happen since the two children decided to get revenge against their so called 'loving families'. They haunted the town, doing things that no human could do. Pots and pans would clatter in the kitchen when no one was present. Poorly written words would be scratched onto a chalkboard by chalk. However, those small things could not measure up to what these demonic minded children had in store for their family.

The children's souls were only spotted as a figure in a small number of selected people, but the witnesses would never be able to tell the tale of what had happened. All that the victums would be see would be the silvery pairs of hands reaching toward their throat.

    But that's not all.

These pale hands could only be seen while the victim sleeps, for only in dreams are they deadly. Dreams made these sort of spirits, also known as 'Nightmares', become solid until they exit the other being's mind. The buried, untouched, and most fearful thoughts of the sleeping victim would spring to life once these Nightmares enter their minds. The two children aren't the only Nightmares, however. Many more exist, for the imagination of humans are so great. Certain Nightmares feed on certain thoughts, and they feed by invading the minds of the innocent victims. These Nightmares could only cause death if their hate burns strong enough on the sleeping soul, and that was what fueled the power of the two children.

Together, they killed their forgetful families.

Plot/Setting
It's the present now, and the town is still surrounded by the thick oak forest, and several creeks stream through the area. Dience is still wedged between hills, making the natural ground uneven. Even if the shape and form of the twon is the same, the story of the two children are considered a myth instead of fact. The population in Dience had decreased dramatically since the death of two families that occurred long ago. Only five hundred people live in this town today. This myth of the two children is considered a common story around these parts. Not much believe in it though, and they treat the fact like a joke.

Teens have dared one another to go out and spend a night near the grave of the dear major. Many have, and all returned. Odd, you think? Not at all, to be exact. The only way the children can have their body wrapped into a different realm is not by disrespecting the dead. The key to being sepereated from the body, is that necklace. It can be found atop of the gravestone on nights that bear no moon; waiting for any innocent to touch the bewitched gems.

Who this necklace belongs to remains a mystery, but it would be the key to many answers if discovered.

Will you fall into the same fate the children did, or will you solve the puzzle?

Wonder how long it will be until someone else posts.
    :I

    Mmm...
    I'ma try again tomorrow.
