College is working out pretty well actually. I don't know why, but it doesn't freak me out anymore...

You see, I've always felt trapped by making commitments of any sorts. Hell, I even avoid making definitive remarks when I can help it and just say "probably" instead of yes or no. I don't know why but I just woke up on Monday and it didn't bother me at all.

My birthday on the other hand is scaring the hell out of me, but that's a whole 'nother topic.

No, I've just always hated my birthday...mainly because I hate being the center of attention, and I dislike getting gifts because people expect a "thank you" card. Seriously, if you're at my party and I open your gift, I will thank you and I don't see why I need to thank you again in written form a week later. Stupid cultural norm. Unfortunately, just about half of my mother's side of the family seems to have been born in August so there's always about 10 parties that I have to go to in the span of a week and it is HELL.

And maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'd been planning suicide on my 18th birthday since I was 14? Hence why I never bothered to make a plan for my life and I only decided not to kill myself a few months ago and thus why I'm having so many issues with my future.

I never WANT a party, but my Ma's side of the family is big on them...I'm more like my Daddy who still doesn't understand why he has to participate in a party as well (his B-day is in August too so they throw his party in with theirs).

I know. Now if a relative from out of state sends me something then I understand a card so they know that I appreciate the sentiment, but NOT for the people that I see all the time. I said thank you when I saw you and I meant it damn it, WHY DO YOU NEED MORE?!

Noes, I sad no to the suicide gig for good, but I still have my bad days and I've got plenty of scars to prove it...I don't know if I'm depressed or not, but I'm good enough at hiding it that I don't think it'll ever be an issue.

Everyone knows everyone's birthday, but you usually just send a card, or more often, call them. :3 Making such a big deal about something that happens every year to just one person seems silly... sweatdrop

Murr...at least your good day outweigh your bad, yes? <3 And I'm always both happy and sympathetic when I find someone else who easily hides emotional (and/or physical) scars. It's how you find the really depressed ones- when they're using it to vy for attention.

Halloween = best. day. ever. You can dress up and it is awesome! I was a vampire last year, though afterwards I swore off my "hooker" boots...my feet hurt for days after walking around for a few hours in them.

Agreed with all birthday points (though I never turn down cash xd ).

For me to get a new scar, I need to have a whole bunch of bad days before I cave. I promised my best friend/ex that I wouldn't do it anymore so I really am trying to stop, but I'm only human and even the guilt afterwards from breaking my promise can't always stop me. I hate cutting attention whores. They're the ones with parents that love them and try to help them, but all they can do is complain, and they are usually psycho to boot.
