I don't understand the rule of Dr. Mrs. Vanderstramp...
can anyone help me explain?

So each letter of Dr & mrs vandertramp stands for a different verb. These verbs, in the passe compose, are conjugated with 'etre' instead of the usual 'avoir'

Verbs that use etre instead of avoir are generally verbs of coming and going, as my first teacher explained to me (mouirir is 'going away' from life and naitre is to 'come into life')
