I’ve been on gaia for nearly six years and have found very few passions here. One is roleplaying. The other is avatar creating. I like to make avatars that not only match color-wise, but match flow-wise, creativity-wise, and theme-wise. My main personal prejudice is when skin shows on the face but nowhere else.

Suzu Yuudai (AKA Suzu, Suz)
Gaia recently said that this account is four years old, so even though I've been on Gaia much longer than that, it's a good indicator of how long I've been TekTeking. I like avatars that look good and have enough flow to tie everything together, whether it be matching or not. However, I can get pretty nitpicky about color balance.

I'm determined to be around for all TTP contests, just because I love books that much! I've been on Gaia for a good 6 or so years, and the AT has always been my home. I look for a variety of things in all avatars, but I like things to flow and be aesthetically pleasing. I'm an overall fair judge; I'll point out your flaws but also highlight your strengths.

Round 12: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

“ ‘Do you ever read any of the books you burn?’ He laughed. ‘That's against the law!’ ‘Oh. Of course.’ “

Fahrenheit 451 is a 1953 dystopian novel that presents a future American society where reading is outlawed and firemen start fires to burn books. Over the years, the novel has been subject to various interpretations, primarily focusing on the historical role of book burning in suppressing dissenting ideas. Bradbury has stated that the novel is not about censorship, but a story about how television destroys interest in reading literature.

The banning of "Fahrenheit 451" Ray Bradbury's 1953 book about the evils of book banning and censorship is like a circular joke. Though the language was what was criticized initially, the more likely reason is that one of the main themes of the story is that a government (which tries to suppress freedom of expression) should be opposed. For this round I want you to create an avi representing the extreme means that society goes to try to control things (for instance, burning books). It can be something serious being controlled or something utterly ridiculous.

I know who Andy Warhol is well enough to get the concept, but I admit to having to google him as I didn't really know how he looked as a person smilies/icon_sweatdrop.gif That said, nice usage of props, and simplicity. The outfit is a bit lacking (pieces don't seem to fit together quite as nicely as they could) but I'm loving the head.

I was trying to figure out what exactly was unrealistic about that, until I realized that a blind Warhol wouldn’t be able to paint. Doesn’t explain the picture behind him, or the paint on his suit. I like the idea of a blind Warhol, but I’d imagine him having a different career, like advertising or something.

Marie Antoinette as a soldier? Unlikely...but I feel like her uniform isn’t right. It needs to be a darker green, or something like camo. I also can’t really see touches of Marie Antoinette, other than the somewhat heeled boots.

I think you're trying to make me biased towards your entry XP I love steampunk and I'm on a Korra high. I'm absolutely in love with the torso here, but I'm not a fan of the hat choice (or the combo of the hat and the head accessories, can't quite nail what the actual problem is), and those legs...erg. Leg mods are a good choice here but I can't ignore the heels and tights.

Did you manage to predict the setting and style of the Avatar sequel? Because that’s pretty cool. There’s actually a scene in Legend of Korra that looks like that. Anyway, I still don’t like those leg. They’ve grown on me a little, but I just can’t get over how top heavy they make her look. Other than that, it’s pretty spot on with the cold weather clothing and practical acessories.

This is my favorite of the group. It's a well executed idea that doesn't rely entirely on the meme to work. My one complaint would have to be the red facial tattoos. They catch my eye in a not too pleasing way.

Okay, I admit. This made me laugh. If Ariel managed to keep her feet, she’d definitely try on all sorts of prints in garish colors. Not sure of the shoes and skull pin, they seem a bit out of character for her.
