The Mole on Wikipedia
Players in The Mole must work together to complete various physical and mental challenges to build up a significant cash prize for the winner. One of them, however, is "the Mole", a double agent hired by the producers to sabotage the efforts of the group. The Mole must be careful to avoid drawing too much suspicion to himself or herself. Using journals, players must track vast amounts of data about the person(s) they suspect of being the Mole, such as seating positions, clothing colors, minor discussion topics, and so on. The quiz at the end of each episode tests players' knowledge of the Mole, and determines by lowest score (or slowest time, in the event of a tie) who is eliminated from the game.

Who is The Mole? That's what you have to find out. One of you wants the rest dead and wants your money. This person is competing with you. Hell, you may be him/her. Whoever they/you are, they/you will be found.

The Mole's job is to compete just like everyone else, however, while trying to bank as much gold as possible, they will also be trying to sabotage their team in each challenge so as to eliminate people he/she sees as a threat. This can be done a variety of ways, including (but not limited to): submitting a weak entry, making other teammates look suspicious, posting in the thread with false information, etc.

Anything that can be done to throw people off The Mole's trail is fair game. This contest isn't just about avatars. It's about paranoia.

If nobody discovers The Mole by the end of the competition, then they walk away with the entire bank (worth a base minimum of 100k, and can be worth up to 1,000,000g).

MISSION #7 : Rush Under the Old City

Last week on The Mole: Dark Intel:

The four spies were sent to different parts of Israel to absorb the culture, history, and locations in search of any clues as to where The Mole was hiding the final vault.

One spy got lost in the scenery though and was sent packing.

Tonight, the final three spies will be fighting for the final vault. The Mole will be revealed, money may change hands, and two people will fall from grace. Stay tuned, because the deception is about to make history for one spy on tonight's episode of, The Mole: Dark Intel!

==================================

Following Kari's ejection from the competition the final three spies were given a catered dinner on the ports of Jaffa. As the sun set on the Mediterranean, the evening would have seemed perfect if it wasn't for the fact that one of the three was a filthy liar.

Once the meal began to wind down, and the idle chatter died down to fake pleasantries, a producer from the show walked over to the table.

"Excuse me guys, some bad news: We're moving up the filming since some of the crew's passports are going to be up. We're moving the final challenge to tonight, so we'll need you all to get into the van immediately."

The producer allowed the news to settle for a few seconds before an unmarked white van with blacked out windows pulled up on the curb. The door slid open and one of the familiar cameraman from the season started frantically waving everyone inside.

"COME ON! WE'RE ON A SCHEDULE!"

After corralling the three contestants into the vehicle, a frantic drive catapulted the small group through forty miles of pure terror east before coming to a screeching halt in front of an ancient and very recognizable place. After the van came to a very slow non-halt, the cameraman pushed the three spies out of the vehicle before speeding off into the city. In front of the bewildered three was the smiling host they had seen just hours before, dressed in a bright blue jumpsuit and a hard hat.

"Good evening my final three, and welcome to your final challenge of this season's The Mole! I hope you enjoyed your last meal, because you're going to need the energy. It has nothing to do with poor planning and background checks."

A fake laugh was easily delivered before he continued,
"Tonight we're here in the most famous city in the religious world: Jerusalem. Home to many pilgrims of various faiths, this city has stood the test of time, and today, thousands of years after its constructions, there are still mysteries being solved. Tonight, you'll be solving one of them: Who is The Mole? That's right, before the sun rises, one of you will walk away with a ton of gold and a lot of answers.

"Tonight you three will be exploring the underbelly of this historic city. Below our feet sits the original stones of the first Western Wall. Nowadays, the wall that stands above ground is visited by many people. These people will pray at the wall and then leave small pieces of paper written with prayers in the cracks of the wall. Your challenge is simple and of a similar variety, but backwards. Under the city I have hidden three different slips of paper in the original stonework of the Western Wall. Each of these slips has a key attached to them that will help you in opening the final vault. On one of these slips though is the number fifty. Finding that piece of paper will net you 50,000g in your bank.

"Once each of you finds a slip of paper, find your way out, and meet me at the location on the back of the amps I'm about to give you. On your way there, if you follow it correctly, you'll find a trailer with the entirety of the clothing you brought with you on this journey. Change into what you feel you should be wearing for a finale, and continue to follow the map until you see the Tolerance Monument. I'll be there with your final Death Quiz and a little surprise.

Good luck spies, and see you soon."

With that, the host walked over to a scooter and zipped off.

Your Challenge:

For the final challenge, you are each to design two outfits as well as take a final Death Quiz. The first outfit is to be something you would go spelunking/hiking/underground searching in, as the final 50,000 gold you are all able to acquire will be hidden in a crack in an ancient wall underground. The second outfit will be whatever you feel you would wear to a to the reveal of who The Mole is.

Rubric:

10/10pts - Underground Outfit
10/10pts - Final Outfit
50/50pts - Final story encompassing the competition, the hunting challenge, and the final Death Quiz
----------------------
70/70pts - Total

In regards to the Death Quiz. All three of you will be taking it. Seeing as that one of you is The Mole, one of you is guaranteed to make 100%. So, how will a winner be determined? Easy, even though The Mole is expected to make a perfect score on the Death Quiz, the other two spies are not. Whoever scores the highest on the Death Quiz AND correctly names The Mole will be the winner. If someone scores highest, yet incorrectly names The Mole, then they will not be named the winner, and The Mole will.

After all three entries are received, you will be able to answer the final questions on the Quiz. The others are answerable before the judging occurs though.

Due Date: April 15st, 2014 1700 CST
Mini-Prize: 50k to the highest score on the judging rubric
Final Prize: Total gold acquired in bank

#INBOX#
Frangelica Ernst (Maramas)
User Image User Image

Frangelica sighed. Underground. It was of course coming down to going underground. There would be spiders, naturally, so she knew immediately her only option was full body coverage. She would also need to be sleek, keep it simple, for maximum maneuverability and speed. Not the worst thing ever, but irritating. She could pull that together pretty reasonably, and while she knew she'd be sweating in the hot Israeli climate, it was worth it.

Later that evening, Frangelica made her way down the path of the above ground Western Wall, centering herself before the descent. She had adjustable night vision/infrared/blacklight goggles tucked under her arm, a logical accessory, as well as a hammer, which had been a more impulsive choice. It wasn't exactly a high tech paper location device. She still couldn't quite put her finger on why she thought it might be useful, after all it wasn't like she was taking the wall down, just locating a small slip of paper on it. Still, it comforted her to have it.

As she walked, she noticed market stands clustered in some areas, catering to tourists. She wouldn't have given them a second thought except that a stall filled with fluttery movement caught her eye - fans. Suddenly she knew how she would find her paper. She hurried over and purchased one, a delightfully gaudy flowered monstrosity that only folded together half way before the paper strained and threatened to tear.

Sauntering down the passage to where their challenge was, Frangelica felt pretty good about her odds. She stopped at the beginning of the expanse of masonry, slipped on her goggles, and commenced frantically waving her fan. For some time, she made her way methodically along, blowing dust and small pebbles off the wall but no paper. Finally, it happened - the blowing air moved a small, pale object, and Frangelica saw it - a slip of paper. And it was way up the wall, several feet above her head. Fabulous. She jumped at it to no avail, her arm didn't even come close to reaching. Of course the damn thing would be placed in an impossible to reach crack.

She took a running leap at the wall in hopes of launching herself higher, and instead the hammer slipped out from under her arm and banged her knee on the way down. She yowled and sat on the ground nursing her rapidly forming bruise for a moment, and, secretly, feeling a little bit sorry for herself. Then it hit her, in a less literal sense. She straightened up, took several steps back, and ran full tilt at the wall. She took several steps up it, then smashed the claw end of the hammer in to the stones, lodging it in the mortar and swinging her body up from it. It worked! She snapped the piece of paper out of the wall, let out a triumphant yodel, then fell unceremoniously to the ground.

She lay there clutching the paper and panting for a moment, then finally composed herself and examined the crumpled paper in her hand. Huh, completely flat. She unfolded it and found her key - not a key at all, a card with flashing encrypted codes. She chuckled, and realized how silly it had been to expect an old fashioned key to open a secure vault.

---------------------

Frangelica stood in the trailer, completely surrounded by clothes. The host wasn't kidding when he said that they'd have all their clothes - she was sure that she had never even seen some of these before, let alone had them in her posession. Probably another cute twist from their lovely host.

Still, it didn't help her in choosing. Should she go for the 'spy' vibe, really camp up the theme of the competition? Dress for a fancy awards show, in anticipation of accepting the grand prize? Assemble what she'd worn for the past challenges and cherry pick from those outfits?

A slight rumble in her stomach signaled...something. Somehow she hadn't felt it until this moment, but now it was undeniable. She was nervous. She'd come so far, felt she'd done quite well along the way, but what did that matter here at the finish line?

For a moment Frangelica considered curling up in a ball and using something in here as a security blanket, perhaps that leather catsuit over there. But then she spied something pink and white and worn poking out from under a pile of outfits - a shoe. She knew then that the way to press through was to dress as herself, comfortable, no frills, and ready for anything.

Sol (Flz)
User Image

Sol couldn't believe he had made it to the finally round in the competition. He actually thought he was going to be the first to leave. But he soon realized it as he was being shoved in a white van with the other contestants. Soon they were off to god knows where for the final mission. As soon as they arrived to their destination, they were pushed out before the van sped off once more.

The host then explained what was going on and what would happen. Sol though it was going to be simple. Just find a piece of paper and take it back above ground. It didn't sound all that hard. There was equipment given to them and some they got to pick. Sol picked up a knife and medical kit in case he made a mistake somehow. A hard hat and goggles were given to him. To keep his head save as well as his eyes. A flashlight to see as well. The outfit was his pick of course. All black with thick gloves to protect his hands from the rocks and sturdy boots.

As soon as his outfit and everything else was on him, they sent him off in a direction away from the other. Someone took him underground, gave him a map, and took off back towards the light. He let out a groan as he shined his light at the map and started to walk forward into the darkness. Minutes past as he searched the walls for a piece of paper sticking out. Nothing could be seen, so Sol headed down deeper into the darkness. After searching for minutes, he felt something stick out of the wall and grabbed a piece of paper with a key dangling to it.

Sol let out a happy yell, which made dirt fall down from the ceiling. Then something caught the corner of his eye. Something red and blue and dangling. He instantly shined his light towards the right and a huge spider about the size of his face dangled down from a tight piece of web. Sol let out a loud scream before turning around and running as fast as he could. He wasn't afraid of creepy crawlies. But when they were colorful and the size of your face, that was a completely different story.

User Image

In a matter of minutes, Sol made it on upper ground as he tried to calm down. He shivered and gripped the paper tightly. After a minute of breathing, he remembered the host handing him a map to the final location. Once again, Sol started to follow the map and walked the path. In no time, a trailer appeared before him like the host said it would. Entering it, Sol immediately undressed and started to look for an outfit.

While he looked, it gave him time to ponder on who the Mole is. While Frangelica seemed cunning and smart, she didn't seem like the Mole. The Mole was suppose to be someone trying to get everyone out. By taking almost every death quiz like Pa'iya has. But she could of also made it so the Mole acted the opposite. Now Pa'iya could also be the Mole because she's been quiet as well as survived every Death Quiz. But she could also be guessing Frangelica as well.

Sol's head buzzed with thoughts as he picked out a nice white shirt he wore last mission, white crisp pants paired with black shoes, and dawned his lucky hat from the Holywood Glamor mission. Gloves and a silver watch were paired with the outfit as well. Thankfully, Sol's suitcase was in the trailer as well, which he decided to bring with him. He stepped outside the trailer and started off on the path again.

In no time, Sol arrived with his suitcase at a tall cement monument with a tree in the middle. Not only was that odd, but it was also in a graveyard. The hosts stood there, waiting for everyone. Soon everyone arrived and the piece of paper was relieved Then the final Death Quiz as and soon the winner was announced as money fell from the sky. Sol wore the same smirk as he did at the beginning when he first showed up.

Payia stared at the wall in front of her. She has a flashlight in her hand looking at the cracks in the wall in front of her. There were so many of them there, she almost felt bad looking through the masses of them to find the one she needed. She knew this would be a daunting task and she knew her and the other two contestants would be here almost all night. Should had on comfortable yet stylish clothes on to get through the challenge.

It was dark when they all met after the challenge. She got to wear any clothes she wanted. It was cooler in the night than she was use to, so she got on some cute and professional clothes on, as she feels she had matured during this journey. She had never been so far from home, nor did she thing she would have lasted this far, but she did, and it made her feel good. She was ready for the revealing of the Mole, and everyone had to take this test, and she would try her best. If anything, a prize enough was the adventure itself.

I adore the method you used to find the piece of paper. Expecting anything less than genius from you would have been incredibly stupid. Your outfit to the finale was surprising, however, in a unique and comforting way. I enjoyed seeing you take a relaxed and very honest approach to the final episode. The only thing I wish you had done was talk about taking the final death quiz and looking back a bit more at the experience.

I didn't expect anything less but humor as well as sleek style from you. I LOVED both of your entries, and cracked a massive smile at the spider. Wonderful work. My only qualm is how massive that hard hat is on Sol, however, it fits with your theme nicely.

Beautiful and unique, I loved your spelunking outfit! The outfit you chose to wore to the finale, couple with the background, was a lovely choice of color. However, the earmuffs are killing it for me. Israel has a very hot, dry, heat. I have never seen anyone wear earmuffs in the Jerusalem area before. The story was a bit short, however, it covered what it needed to cover, and I'm glad you found the adventure thrilling.
