Okay, so here's the contest. It's really simple.

I want you to choose one avatar you've made that you consider the epitome of your style. If you don't save your avatars either re-create your favorite or make a new one. Doens't matter.

Host that image and post it in this thread. State the basics of what you feel your "signature style" would be. For example, I would say "heavy theme, minimal layering." Please be concise. I can only paraphrase so much!

THEN!

I want you to create an avatar that is the EXACT OPPOSITE of your preferred style. For example, I would them make a matchy-matchy, ********. Please keep in mind - it's not the style you least like or one you consider your weakness that I want you to do - it's whatever the opposite of your signature style is.

Host that avatar in the thread also

Then, await results :]

TL;DR version:
Make two avis - one that is you preferred style and one that is the complete opposite of that. Host both images specifying which is which and a short description of you 'style' . . . in case it isn't apparent

I'll leave this open for a while - I haven't decided how long, depends on the participation, I guess. The winner will be decided by me based on overall aesthetic appeal and how well you completed the challenge.

My style is usually very feminine and elegant. It can also be rather cutsey. My amount of layering varies, as does my color usage, but i usually am very match-y, and employ anywhere from 3 to five colors in an avi. Even when i do monochrome, i mix in different shades, textures, and details.


In contrast, this avi turned out very masculine, and also very dark. I never use scars, or such styling of hair. I also use lipstick or girly-types of mouths--never fangs like i did here. This avi also didn't use very many items--less than i normally do. imo, it is in almost every way the opposite of my usual style, and i'm actually very surprised that this is something i made!

My normal style is when you give me the freedom to grow and expand on one idea. Though this might not be the best exampel but if you give me a idea ill run with it for a long wile. The end resolt may be to claustrophobic for some people at times though sweatdrop
and with almost every outfit i do in my style I try to add a " pet " item. Eather this dog, a butterfly, or sneaking in a small cat into the background. I look at it as my trademark or something :3


The style that i dont quite like to make is the more " uniform " type of outfits. Ones that could be classified with simple avis in a way. When ever i make them it feels like im contestant to just haveing items on the body... I feel so limited.
Ya i know some tricks of the trade if im limited with a few colors and can make cleaver patters and what not with mear pennys / 500 gold to 1k at most but still when its stuck like this basic shape i feel constricted. >_<

The easiest way to resize them would be to upload them to something like photobucket then go to edit and resize them. It should be preset to adjust to scale so you can just type "120" in the first available box and it'll be the right size. Make sense?
