Zuko and the Oedipus complex

So if you don't know what the Oedipus complex is, its a Freudian (and therefore, complete crap) theory of childhood sexuality. Here is the most basic explanation: Guy loves his mother, is jealous of his father, and therefore tries to emulate him to win his mother's heart.

Zuko portrays most of these traits.

Conversely, his sister Azula shows signs of harboring the female version of this, the Electra complex


Just so you know, I don't put any merit into these theories AT ALL, just thought that it would be interesting to post. Feel free to argue for or against it

When she was going insane, yeah. I can't recall her hallucination convo, but Azula does say that Ursa liked Zuko more than her in The Beach episode.

I think Zuko's just a momma's boy. In that house, he needed to cling to something happy. *shrugs*
