My first choice for bending would most definitely be water bending heart heart heart , but my second choice would be fire, since you can also summon lightning biggrin

I could be wrong but i think any air bender could be considered an "avatar" if they just manipulated the air around the other elements so in my opinion the airbenders are the most powerful.

I would choose water since I always loved it. Plus you can blood bend and pull water out of thin air if you were thirsty, and with water you can heal.
