I agree with the first post BUT if she does I REALLY hope it is not another screw up like they did with Katara and Aang.

Im sorry but I will take Katara and Zuko (like it was ORIGINALLY intended) any day, Katara went on and on about family with Aang and what not that it turned out bad, I have an adoptive brother also and I don't want to sleep with him.

Screwed up, originally intended? Whose a** are you pulling this out of? Yes, in VERY early stages it was considered, and swiftly discarded in favour of the canon we have now. As in, back when Katara was still called Kya, (What would that ship name be then, Kyko? Zuya?)

As I said, ORIGINALLY she was going to be the love interest of Zuko as she likes the bad boys and no it wasn't in the early stages they changed it late into production if not when it was finished and we see that, whilst they did cut out most of it and edited in other bits and what not we are still left with so many moments where we see there was meant to be more with Katara and Zuko, some of the moments seemed like there should of been more then just them standing next to each other as friends. Many times they had a vibe that more should be happening between them then there was etc but they were forced to not act upon it due to editing parts out and putting parts in, some parts just couldn't be and I understand that but it also gives us the whole thing where Katara and Zuko were meant to be more then just friends but, obviously, the writers decided against it at the last minute or something.

Besides all that, as I said, for ages Katara went on and on about Aang now being family yet she is happy to sleep with a member of said family, the writers seem to have decided to shut Katara up about that (since she did go on and on about it so hey, I am glad) but then just hope we forgot about her family tirade and make it so she falls in love with Aang, a guy the writers FORCED down her throat that she considered him FAMILY.

And seriously, why does ANY shipping need to have a friggen name? Why can't they just be Aang & Katara or Zuko and Mai or whatever? Why does every relationship these days need to have a stupid name like that?

Ugh...canon!Zutarians make them all look bad. I can't stand Kataang either, but you don't see me insisting canon isn't canon...there's fanfic for that. (Then again, my preferred pairings are never endgame, so I'm kinda used to it.)

I am not insisting anything, I understand and ACCEPT that Aang and Katara are canon BUT that doesn't mean I like it and that doesn't mean I won't make my point over why I think it would have been better if it was Katara/Zuko.

You all do know that just because a girl likes a guy and wants to be with him, that doesn't means she needs him for her to be strong? Wanting and receiving support from a love interest doesn't make a female protagonist suddenly weak, it makes the character, male or female, seem more human.

If, and who, Korra gets together with, it isn't going to make her dependent on that person for strength. The creators are really good about writing strong female characters, without falling into that trap. It just means that she will have that person as an option for support should she ever need it.

And people love their pairings, so a romance is good for drawing in an audience. Don't believe me? Take a good, long look at this forum, a significantly large portion of the threads are about shipping.
