Legend of Korra, the 2nd installment in the Avatar Series, taking place 70 years after the event of the first one, Avatar: The Last Airbender. We follow the new avatar, Avatar Korra, a 17 year old Water Tribe girl, in her final stages of training. She has already master 3 of the 4 element, and must master the final element Air, unfortunately her air bender master cannot train her do to his duties in Republic City, a city created for peace, this lead her to runaway to Republic City and train as an Air bender.

Many fans of the 1st installment might be disappoint that a lot of old character have now past on, but we have been giving a new and certainly just as good cast of characters. I like how the characters are older not only in age, but in personality, giving older fans something to latch on to.

The fighting style of the modern benders have shifted from the Martial Arts flow of fighting influence from Asia, to a more a boxing style of fighting influence from Western world. This reflects this new Industrial age they live in.

Giving this is an age without war; benders now fight in arena games call, Pro-Bending, a MMA (mix Martial Art) Style of fighting, where two teams of three, go head to head. Each member of the team is one of three elements.

The city is far from city is far from peaceful though, a group called, Equalists, a group of citizens that are against all bender. This is a common scene that we see to offend in the real world. On group against another for thing that make them different or how someone was treated by a member of the opposite group. In this world it is no different; most of these citizens have been pushed around by the Triads, gangs that rule the streets of the city.

Both the art and music reflect this new Industrial age in the series. The music has a similar feel to the music of the ‘20s while that art in areas give you the dirt and feel of the era. Clothing design has evolved along too. It’s a mixture of both western and eastern clothing; this mixture is also reflected in the buildings and vehicles.

The show overall live up to the original and should be giving a chance by both new fans and old. It comes on every sat @11am on Nick.

FAQ about the new Series
Q: Why is Aang not in this new series?
A: The Avatar is the Reincarnation of the last one, meaning there is only ever one Avatar at a time. The old one must die for the new one to be reborn. As to what happen to him, no clue.
