I mean it is still possible...seeing how we don't know who Lin's dad is. surprised I could see it....Toph daughter getting the serious side from Sokka. Thoughts? Maybe Suki decided her duty was to her people or something.

I've heard multiple rumors that Sokka and Suki didn't marry or anything of the like, and did anyone see Suki in that little flashback in episode four? I don't think I did.
I wouldn't be surprised at all, but I think Korra would have made that statement, and I don't think Lin's last name should be Baiphong, it should be whatever Sokka's last name was, if they follow traditional marriage customs.

She wasn't there, but only Toph, Sokka, and Aang.

Also, maybe they wanted to add suspense? Sexist much?
