Bolin is charming in his own way. But I can see that how he is the equivalent of Sokka. So Mako is Katara, and Korra is Aang.

I miss Sokka, and he won't be replaced, but I think this cast has got some good potential to be just as amazing as the old. Bolin isn't the new Sokka, not by a long shot, but he is there for comedy relief. I like the new series better than the old, but Sokka cannot be replaced.

Indeed. When he was finally serious, he was pretty much the best character. Oh look, I'm starting a war. But no, seriously, he was the best comic relief character in a show that I had ever seen. Then again, I don't know if I would really want to see him in The Legend of Korra. Somehow, I don't think that would work out too well.
