I dunno. It doesn't bother me because even if someone is blind, it doesn't mean they can't move their eyes. It's kinda dumb to think that. I just say this because I've had people in my classes in high school who were blind but would move their eyes in directions of sounds half the time.

In my first post I said that I know that people who are blind do sometimes move their eyes, but in the show Toph does not. It's about consistency. Also, were the people in your classes blind from birth or did they become blind later in life? That would change things because it would be out of habit and not because of function. It also depends on the severity of blindness. If someone has any vision whatsoever (a lot of people who are blind can still see to some extent) it would be more likely that they would move their eyes in the direction of a noise. But in the show, Toph is completely blind and does not have any sense of sight whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure she did move her eyes a couple of times or was looking at a person who was speaking directly to her. Of course, more often, she would only move her head rather than focus on eye movement. And in my class, there was one guy who was blind from birth {he played guitar pretty cool, haha}. But he would move his eyes around a lot. Especially when a person was talking to him. His eyes would shift back and forth and they looked like Toph where it was dulled out in color so he was completely blind. He'd always have an escort. The others were a force of habit I guess? I don't know for sure if they were blind at birth or not but that one guys was.

I don't remember her moving her eyes (definitely not saying you're wrong, I just don't remember. I do plan on re-watching it soon so I'll pay attention to that) but I do remember her moving her head towards people who were speaking to her. Do you know for sure if he was completely blind? A lot of people can see slight figures, some colors, very small amount of tunnel vision, light... those things would all make a lot of difference, what with having something to actually focus on. Not trying to doubt that he was completely blind, I'm just interested now.

Just directed at the guitar part, I'm friends with someone who is deaf and plays the drums better than anyone else I know. smile It's pretty sweet.

Well, that's what his assigned teacher had told my guitar teacher when she escorted him the first day of school. I can't know for sure because I'm not him and I can't look at things thorugh his eyes but it's what was said.

And that sounds about right. Drums=vibrations and usually deaf people tend to be better. Haha!
