but he did mention mako hates his singing
mako probably had to supervise a trip to the zoo
and wu noticed the badger moles were pleased
"SEE MAKO THESE FINE BEASTS APPRECIATE ME WHY CANT YOU!?!?!?!"

alternatively, they're big-a** animals who can tunnel which is a way for the citizens to leave hopefully undetected. this is the more likely option. wu chose them and then probably started singing.
but option 1 is still very likely >_>
