Whoa whoa whoa Why did i get a warning?

Ok so i got a wraning from a mod... having my avvie thing in my signature that says vote for me.... and its really messed up because why cant you advertise in "Avatar arenas" and why do you not get warned in chater box! God dang... -.-

Hmmmm, I think your allowed to have it in your sig (then if didn't, everyone will have warnings)

Lately, mods have been making mistakes. I find nothing wrong with having it in your sig

Maybe you should read the forum rules before you ask for votes in a forum. This forum is specifically for discussing the arenas, not soliciting votes. Soliciting votes is considered spam which belongs in Chatterbox.

Were you posting somewhere saying "Hey I'm in the arenas check out my signature"? You can't call attention to the fact that you're advertising your entry just let people see it for themselves.

You're allowed to advertise your arena entries in your signature.

You can't make posts outside the chatterbox asking people to vote for you. This is considered spam and it's not allowed.

The avatar arena forum is for the discussion of the arena, not the place to post asking people to vote for you.

You're not allowed to offer gold or any kind of gain if a person votes for you. Basically if you offer any kind of prize for voting for you, this is considered bribery and cheating. It's also against the rules and can get your arena entry removed.

If you only had it in your signature, you wern't breaking the rules. But if you were asking for people to vote for you in the avatar arena forum, it's against the rules and it's why you recieved a warning.

there is another thing that people don't realize (apparently) is against the rules...

text format.

putting an automatic message that inserts into every posting you make, or text formating, is also against the rules.

you are allowed to put "vote for me" in your sig because people have the ability to turn of sigs. they do not have the ability to turn off text format in postings. alot of text formatting is really basically spam anyway, no matter how pretty it is.

if the mod gave you a warning for having "vote for me" in your sig, unless the format violated sig regulations of an image over 500x500 pixels or a file size over 100kB or questionable content, then they were wrong and need to be educated by an admin.
