odd voting trend i've noticed - repeatedly.

So, for the past few ... months, i haven't placed. i admit some aren't my best efforts and others deserved being downvoted for being downright antagonistic, but there's something weird i noticed -

i'm being low-balled, but my ranks for my past 4 entries (each averaging around 3.5) were in the top 50 or 60. Current is out of rank completely, it's been so hit, so i'm leaving that out of this topic, but i'm hearing similar from other people:

"My entry has a very low score (like a 3.1-something) but is top 100."

What the hell's going on? pardon this lady being rather confused about having low scores that still manage to have ranks

It's the Original Arenas, they always have lower scores than the Cosplay.

Well, I've noticed yours, you just need more "Art" and creativity, when I see them, they're just presentations of expensive items, not messy, cluttered, or unorganized, none of those, they're not bad at all, but I see a lot of 3's or 4's, I've seen 5's and I give 5 stars to artwork.

I noticed that the averages have been worse over all since the fee and prizes were raised. I think people are feeling more competitive/like cheating because they're paying more and getting a better prize.

I noticed that too.

It was part of the reason I was against an increased prize pot in the first place.

I don't mind the increase there but they should have increased the fee more to counter it.

Personally I would have left the prize where it is with the current entry prize.

Heck, I wouldn't be adverse to seeing you pay 10k to enter and getting it back if you come first (Loosing 1k per place as it were so that the 10th place winner gets 1k).

But then, I'm kind of harsh like that!

See, that suggestion is perfect!

Gaia won't do it though because it'd involve spending time on certain features that they 'don't have time for' right now (This is an ongoing thing with the guilds, a few of the devs have told us 'we don't have time at present' this year when they've previously promised updates). /bitter.

But yes, a competitive arena and a fun arena would be great with the competitive arena costing more to enter with a higher prize pot.

I've been able to guess some of the people who place each week by who has the most expensive items on...i.e. minis and RIG rares. Even when I was in the top 3 for a whole week I ended up placing ninth because of down-voting. People can be malicious and overly competitive.
