Male avatars in the arena

I've seen plenty of good ones, it might just be typical perspectives of favoring female appearances, either that, or a really good explanation for not seeing any good male avatars would be that there aren't as many masculine items as feminine ones. But, again, I think there's too many voters that automatically dismiss, or don't take seriously, what male avatars are able to do with what they are provided with. Plus, I am quite sick of seeing princesses and fairies clogging up the top 10, it's getting old.

The bolded is exactly the reason.

I had a male avatar for about a month when I cosplayed Augustus Sinclair from Bioshock 2, there aren't that many items that look good on a male base.

That's not the voters fault, it's Gaia's for apparently being allergic to making a decent pair of trousers.

Yup, 9/10 females in the top 10, once again, and that's rare, usually it's 10/10.

If someone could actually make a decent male avatar, then it wouldn't be so bad. But every week I only see 2-3 good male avatars and that's on a good week. I don't know what's going on that people can't make a decent male avatar. :/ But there are a few decent ones that I'm hoping will place this week.

My judging tends to be a bit harsh. I've only picked out two good male avatars this week. I don't favor one over the other, if it's good I'll give it a 5, if it's complete crap it gets a 1. I think the male avatar has a ton of potential despite the limitation. It's just that only a handful are stepping up to the plate. People are going to vote however they like, it's the same in the cosplay arena and it can't be helped.

I think making a good avatar isn't about the gender, it's about the content and all.

Seriously, the fluffy and sparkly and 100% clogged female avis are getting to me.

Heck I think I'll cross-dress from now on.

But I agree, it would be nice to see some male avis out there. I think it's because a lot of good items on Gaia are directed at females, and not males... mad

Then again, dress-up is traditionally for girls, right?
