I've stolen this idea from Utopia so credit goes where credit's due. xd
The idea we're gunning for is the Wheel of the Year, which is divided into four Fire and four Solar festivals (you may have heard of at least some of these)
Imbolc (Candlemas/Midwinter) (fire)
Ostara (Spring Equinox) (solar) (also known as Summer Finding)
Beltane (May Eve/May Day) (fire)
Lithia (Summer Soltice) (solar)
Lammas (August 1 - the first Harvest festival) (fire) (Also known as Freyfaxi)
Mabon (Autumn Equinox) (solar) (Also known as Winter Finding)
Samhain (All Hallows Eve) (fire) (Also known as Winter Nights)
Yule (Winter Solstice) (solar)
SO, going by several websites and the common color associations, should you want to enter, here's the idea -
"Pagan."
You can use either modern interpretations of this or the more classical, but your avatar MUST have one of these color palettes as your primary focus. Example - Imbolc has White and Red and maybe Orange but you're allowed to use related colors as accents.
For palettes with more than 4 colors, please try to use at least four of those colors.
There are other options though ... but these require use of a type of item.

Vali's Blot (celebration dedicated to the god Váli and to love — 14 February) - A heart MUST be present somewhere in this avatar. This does not have to be a Valentine avatar
Feast of the Einherjar (celebration to honor kin who died in battle — 11 November) - Soldier's or warrior's gear in at least one part of the avatar.
Ancestors' Blot (celebration of one's own ancestry or the common ancestors of a Germanic ethnicity — 11 November) - In this case, try to go for something from your own ancestry. When choosing this, please state what heritage you have.
Yggdrasil Day (celebration of the world tree Yggdrasil, of the reality world it represents, of trees and nature — 22 April) - The most prominent item must be a tree.
Walpurgisnacht (the Witches meeting night - April 30) - Dress like a member of Black Sabbath Witches and wizards and MAYBE fire (but definitely witch-related)
