rolleyes I cannot believe that there are not more measures put into place to prevent the down voting going on! I am an honest, ethical person & only rate the avi's with what I feel is a true rate. It is really sad the wonderful avatars that are shot down out there because people are so insecure with --& own work <-- as an artist that they have to bring others down! ARTISTS ARE SUPPOSED TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER AND GIVE HONEST OPINIONS! How they can feel good about what they do? ... THERE IS NO GLORY IN WINNING IF YOU DO NOT HONESTLY DESERVE IT!!!

i wish people wouldn't do that. i was doing ok for this week getting my first 8 votes which where from my friends and they were all 5's then my score dropped a full star on the ninth vote and the person left no comment. i really don't like down voters, maybe they should enforce commenting before you can rate that why you can see what it is they do or don't like and should get rid of people or slow down people who just randomly running in and down vote because their scared that persons avi is better then theres

Well, I did have extreme downvoting all week, 3nodding somehow I placed in the top 50! I am happy with that, especially in a place where it seems that all odds are against you... Thank you to the people who took the time to comment & rate my avi, I am most grateful. heart I still hold on to the hope that the Arena will one day be a fair, fun place to compete and to showcase talent. Hopefully, some day they will actually implement a way to rid the arena of downvoters, for the sake of ALL who enter...

I've realized that posting in the more often trolled threads like the GD and CB definitely brings your score down... mine just went down by .02 rating.

I did that today in the CB and it brought my cosplay out of the ranking. D: I'm never doing that again. Hopefully people will rate fairly when just stumbling upon my avatar without me advertising it.

The secret to using the Chatterbox as an ally is to become a regular there. I guarantee if you build up some "Street cred" as I like to call it you will get better votes.

Whenever I hang out in my normal forums like Barton Town and the AT I generally find that a lot of those people leave comments on my avi by viewing my sig, and in some way I think it's because they know I've been around long before I entered avi's so they know my intentions are not solely based on advertisement.

I guess what I'm trying to say is people might look at you like "Where'd you come from" and in turn they will believe you are only there to promote. This causes resentment and therefore it is only logical for it to cause down-voting.

Just figured to give my insight. It may or may not be the case, but I'd like to believe it is.

i only vote under 3 if it truly deserves it in my opinion, and unfortunately there's a lot that do. so many noobitars....
i find myself dissapointed in the quality of avs in the arena. seems like everyone thinks that using the newest item is pure win when it's the opposite, unless you do something really nice with it, not just throw it on over your current av...
if i see one more freakin guy with that overseer armor crap on in the arena im gonna scream.

Downvoting sucks. @_@ I wish people just always voted how they honestly felt about the avatar.

Or at least keep the petty/childish spite stuff at bay... I don't see how anyone can enjoy a win when it's gotten unfairly. =/

I still wonder if removing the reward for winning would help at all(I know some people wouldn't like that) since then people wouldn't try to cheat to win that 50k, which so many don't realize they could get easier and have more of a chance of getting for that matter by playing booty grab etc.

I agree... you can make upward of 40k in an hour or two in a good thread playing booty grab. I also wonder if voting was not "ANON" - if rating & reveal of idenity were shown- if people would not cast rates much more wisely based on what the avi actually deserves. Some may fear "revenge" - but at least you could see who & why. The goal is to get avi's rated fairly, and i think people would put much more thought into the submissions they make & also the rates they give others if they could not hide... idk, just another idea. idea

I wish people would stop using every new free item they get then enter their 1/5 avatar into the arena. The sad thing is, 2/5 is probably the average I give in ratings due to the many sets and free items people just slap on. sad

You used to be able to see -who- voted for you -when- they voted. I think it kept things nice and clean. Made people more honest.

It would at least make people vote with nothing but mules. Make it tougher for them to sneak around handing out 1's to avatars that don't deserve it.
