Actually, if you contact the right mods, it should be fairly easy. I would know, I used to be a mod. ^-^
Sure getting downvoted sucks but that's the arenas and like others have said, maybe people following the same mistake Sesshnat did, they probably delete comments so that it looks like they are doing well but if you look at past winners in the arena, you'll notice their are hardly any gender benders in the winning circle so the point about people doing well with gender bending cosplays is invalid. If you think you can find someone who won doing pretty much the same thing Sesshnat did, I'll point you out someone who has a lot of friends. I don't think you understood what I said previously, the fact is that Sesshnat did not call it, "Female version of Jason" she called it, "Daughter of Voorhees" which leads me and everyone else to conclude she made up a spawn and threw it in the avatar arena. Regardless, the OP is wrong about her avatar being in the right arena but correct that it does not deserve the 1/5's for it being in the wrong arena.

I never said I was in the right arena for the last time -_-

Okay, but did you contact anybody to get your entry moved to the correct arena? The complaints on the other avatars in the wrong arena has an easy fix, report them for being in the wrong arena. They won't get in trouble, they'll just get moved to the correct arena. As for people giving them positive comments, like I and others have said they have the ability to delete negative comments so that it appears they are getting nothing but positive comments. They could also have friends who are leaving nice comments and good reviews. Like I mentioned, these people do not generally make it into the top ten so the chances that they are actually doing better than your own cosplay are slim.

No I didnt. Seeing as I posted an explanation before anyone even viewed my avi for the title and everything where the comment was reported as spam and deleted by the time I could it was honestly too late. There was already 3 pages of comments that was growing. And the other gender bends like mine was had many comments from non friends. I checked. Where as all my positive comments where from friends when I didnt ask them to.

No, hun. I mean you can request that your avatar be moved. You can report it yourself and it will be taken care of. You don't have to go through a week of people telling you that you were in the wrong arena because you don't have to stay in that particular arena. As for the other people that are misplaced, don't judge them based on their comments but your own opinion of the avatar and report it for being misplaced. You can't compare your avatar comments with another person's avatar comments because their are so many factors that take place with voting. Sometimes it's not fair but you just got to buck up and do the right thing by requesting to be moved to the correct arena and not making the same mistake again. There are so many complaints against the arena and definitely a lot of question on fairness but sometimes you just have to do the best you can.

If everyone is missing the point then you're not making the point well enough in the first place.

I said many different versions of my point at least 20 times already -_- Everyone seems to be missing the parts in the first post where I talked about OTHER PEOPLE in the arena and they were more focused on my avi being in the wrong arena which I already know I dont know how to say my point anymore better or clearer people havn't been reading the WHOLE ENTIRE THING FROM EVERYONE

And part of my point was PEOPLE have DIFFERENT OPINIONS of where an avi thats 50% original and 50% cosplay should be. My first one WAS in the original arena. Guess what?PEOPLE TOLD ME I WAS IN THE WRONG ARENA JUST AS MUCH AS MY SECOND ONE! I deleted it and submitted it again only to get THE SAME THING. DO YOU SEE MY POINT NOW!?
You are certainly not the ONLY PERSON EVER on gaia to be have this "issue". Others have certainly been told the same thing. Treat the arenas how you should treat the rest of gaia. If you see something that does not belong, report it instead of pointing at them going "They can do it, why can't I?" The moderators can't see all entries at once to see if it actually belongs or not, you have to bring it to their attention.

It is sadly the general consensus that avatars that are "based on", "inspired by", or "my version of" really belong in originals because it's the submitter's take on the character not how the actual character is. This is why there are so many Alice in Wonderland "cosplays" in originals because that's how they interpreted the character rather than basing it off an existing version. Sadly some voters will give any reason to vote it poorly, REGARDLESS if it's in the "right" area. You WILL get poor votes even if the avatar is in your eyes the best thing ever. That is the nature of the arena, and there isn't anything we can do to make other people vote fairly, unfortunately.

There should be an official clarification of things like this in the rules for submitting, but even if there is there is no guarantee that the voter's will even see it to know how they should be voting. The majority of voter's don't read. They just pick either 1 or 5 (actually one of the main reasons we went from the 10 point system to a 5) and move on. To them there are no other numbers. If they don't like it, or if anything is even slightly off-> 1. I would suspect that the reason for things like this is the fact that the arenas give out gold to voters, so people are essentially making "spam" votes based on first impressions just to get their gold. And of course reading descriptions take up far too much time. It's less so strict voting, and more so they just don't care. The best thing to do is to pay them no mind at all and perseverance.

I find that voters who actually read the description and give any criticism at all, let alone rate fairly (not that we can really know the voter's intentions when they vote because we aren't them, and opinions of fairness are subjective) to be few and far between.

Most people comment saying there score. On others who were "misplaced" people have commented 3/5 or 4/5 and even 5/5 while people who commented on mine was nothing but 1/5

I wouldn't presume people are actually giving those votes ... people say they're giving 5/5 and then give ones instead.

MOST OF YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT WHILE SOME OF YOU TOOK FOREVER TO GET IT AND SOME OF YOU ARE STILL ARGUING WITH ME FOR NO REASON BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SAID MY AVATAR BELONGED THERE. I REALIZE FULL WELL THAT THERE ARE 2 SEPARATE ARENAS. THE POINT OF THIS ENTIRE TOPIC WAS THE FIRST THING YOU READ! ABOUT THE JUDGES, STUPID RATINGS OTHER PEOPLE GET FOR STUPID REASONS, AND MY PROBLEM GETTING DOWN RATED FOR MY LOCATION WHILE OTHERS WHO MADE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME ARE GETTING HIGHER. SO FAR I AM THE ONLY ONE I HAVE SEEN BUT I'M SURE THERE HAVE BEEN OTHERS. THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE THE PEOPLE LIKE ME, AND THOSE WHO GOT THEIR EXPLANATIONS IGNORED, AND PEOPLE WHO DONT LIKE THE WAY THE ARENA IS ORGANIZED TO SHARE THEIR OPINIONS WHY HAS IT TAKEN SOME OF YOU FOREVER TO GET IT!? GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN HOW TO READ! I AM DONE WITH THIS PEOPLE MAY POST OPINIONS AS THEY PLEASE.

People may be deleting all the bad comments. That happens a lot, you're not the only getting shot down I assure you. Last week there were a bunch of "disney" characters that were brutalized by a lot of people to the point they disabled comments. You may just be missing those comments because they are being deleted.

But then you have the "white knights" who don't know their butthole from a hole in the ground and defend people. So those comments don't get deleted like the negative ones. It's just a matter if you catch those comments before they're deleted. I've had several of mine deleted just for pointing out things such as inaccuracies and being in the wrong arena.

You're right. You've inverted what I said. Which still says essentially the same thing.

Honestly, you don't know what they're really getting. It's physically impossible to know this. Unless you're some super hacker or one of gaia's programmers that can get into that code to view it, you can't. People lie all the time in comments. That's in the nature of being human, being capable of lying.

Look, a while back when the arenas recently converted over to the new format we were hit with a swarm of bots when it became known that voting gave out gold. These bots would leave comments saying the same things over and over again, with messages including "5/5 vote back?". Entrants began to notice that their scores where actually dropping moments after they received these comments (with only 1 or 2 new votes within that span). It turns out that these bots were voting ones throughout.

All we're saying is that, even though you see positive comments there is no real way of knowing if those commenters are telling the truth. That's all. It's a waste of energy getting so upset about things like this. We can't control the voters, you can't control the voters, gaia cannot control the voters. And like I said before, if you see something that you think is wrong, report it and move on. Don't worry about what they might be getting, just worry about you and your entry. And even though you may have done poorly this time around, that doesn't mean you won't do better next time.
Like what the others say, you can't judge how well someone else's avatar is doing based on their comments. You say they do so much better than yours but have you seen the winner circle? I guarantee if the others are misplaced like you say they are, they were not in top ten which means that just because they get comments saying "5/5" doesn't mean they actually did well that week. Why don't you check back to the winner circle of the week you were in the arena and look to see if any of those avatars that like yours were in the wrong arena placed at all.
