Aw. Spides are actually shy creatures. They are just as, if not more, afraid of us as we are of them. Did you know that tarantulas can shed? They can shed if they're anxious. So if a tarantula gets handled enough by strangers, pretty soon it can end up being a scared and bald tarantula.

They're also venomous and generally creepy. A large enough portion of people are arachnophobic, like me.

And I thank God for those tarantula wasps.. You know, those wasps that attack tarantulas and lay their eggs in them, for their baby waspies to eat the host spider. biggrin

Let me explain the house rules:

Bugs inside the house are killed. Bugs outside the house can live.

There are no bugs inside for spiders to eat. There's no reason for a spider to live inside my house. So spiders inside die.

Besides, being arachnaphobic means spiders must die.

Once in a great while I'll let a little, and I mean less than 3mm spider live in my window to eat the gnats and small flies. That's fine.

The spiders I kill are the bigger ones.
It's not like they're endangered. I live in the woods. There's plenty.
